International audience; In the last decade, a noticeable effort has been realized, combining phononics with active materials, in order to provide versatile control of elastic waves within these structures. Among several possibilities, the use of piezoelectric materials constitutes an important source of inspiration for the design and realization of intelligent active devices based on their ability to combine electric circuits that offer ease in electric command of the dispersion properties of these structures. Here, we propose an active phononic crystal composed of a piezoelectric plate, structured periodically with millimeter-scaled metallic strips on its two surfaces. The metallic electrodes, used for the excitation of Lamb-like guided modes in the plate, ensure at the same time control of their dispersion by means of externally loaded electric circuits that enable non-destructive tunability in the frequency response of these structures. In previous studies, authors have established that an inductive shunt in association with the inherent capacitive nature of the piezoelectric material will operate as an equivalent electric resonant circuit that produces avoided crossings and, under certain conditions, opening up of hybridization gaps [1]. In this work, we explore, both theoretically and experimentally, the dispersion design possibilities offered by the use of connected active electric circuits, such as negative capacitances or inductances. This document summarizes my research works from 2001 until these days. Several publications are given in appendix of each chapter. The document started with the study of the influence of the roughness of the surface on the propagation of guided waves (Lamb waves). The modification of the dispersion curves of the waves is studied in detail. It is notably noticed that the attenuation is linked to the height and periodicity of the roughness. Different approaches are given: experimental, numerical (Finite Element Method) and theoretical. In the following, the wave propagation in periodically corrugated plate is investigated. Several results on a simple case of scalar fields are given (fluid waveguide, SH waves) and then the case of Lamb waves is studied. The coupling of modes due to the presence of a periodical disturbance is more particularly analysed in relation with the band structure (1D phononic crystal). The last part is dedicated to the study of negative refraction in phononic crystals., Ce mémoire d'Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches synthétise mes activités de recherche de 2001 à ce jour. En annexe de chaque chapitre sont données des publications permettant au lecteur d'avoir une connaissance plus détaillée des sujets traités. Le document commence par l'étude de la propagation d'ondes guidées (ondes de Lamb) avec une rugosité de surface. L'influence de cette rugosité sur les courbes de dispersion des ondes est étudiée en détail. On observe notamment une atténuation liée à la hauteur mais également à la périodicité de la perturbation de surface. Cette étude nous conduit naturellement aux structures périodiques. Différentes approches sont exposées dans ce mémoire : expérimentale, numérique (Méthode des Eléments Finis) et théorique. Un certain nombre de résultats sur un cas simple de champs scalaires sont donnés (guide d'onde fluide, ondes SH). La propagation d'ondes de Lamb dans une plaque élastique striée est ensuite étudiée. Les couplages de modes liés à la présence d'une perturbation périodique sont plus particulièrement analysés en lien avec la structure de bande (cristal phononique 1D). La dernière partie est consacrée au phénomène particulier de réfraction négative dans les cristaux phononiques.
