An alarming and increasing deforestation rate threatens Amazon tropical ecosystems and subsequent degradation due to frequent fires. Agroforestry systems (AFS) may offer a sustainable alternative, reportedly mimicking the plant–soil interactions of the natural mature forest (MF). However, the role of microbial community in tropical AFS remains largely unknown. This knowledge is crucial for evaluating the sustainability of AFS and practices given the key role of microbes in the aboveground–belowground interactions. The current study, by comparing different AFS and successions of secondary and MFs, showed that AFS fostered distinct groups of bacterial community, diverging from the MFs, likely a result of management practices while secondary forests converged to the same soil microbiome found in the MF, by favoring the same groups of fungi. Model simulations reveal that AFS would require profound changes in aboveground biomass and in soil factors to reach the same microbiome found in MFs. In summary, AFS practices did not result in ecosystems mimicking natural for-est plant–soil interactions but rather reshaped the ecosystem to a completely dif-ferent relation between aboveground biomass, soil abiotic properties, and the soil microbiome.

The archaeological heritage is of major importance in building a certain area’s memory, allowing others to understand its history and encouraging an appreciation of the past as a tool for understanding the world in which one lives. The overall ignorance about the existence and value of archaeological sites may become one of the main factors behind their degradation. That being, this work intends to identify and spatialize the pre-historical archaeological sites located in the area of the Cariri Paraibano Geopark Project, which encompasses the counties of Boa Vista, Boqueirão, Cabaceiras and São João do Cariri, in the region of Cariris Velhos, in Paraíba. Based on both bibliographical and field researches, 55 sites were identified in the area of study, 11 of them not yet cited in scientific papers. In the elaborated map, it was possible to spatialize 36 sites, since the others were not detailed in the bibliography nor were they accessible in field. Discrepancies of toponymy and of sites descriptions were verified in the bibliography, as well as the possibility of more still unidentified sites existing in the area. El desconocimiento sobre la existencia y valor de los sitios arqueológicos pueden convertirse en uno de los principales factores para su degradación. Por lo tanto, este trabajo tuvo como objetivo identificar y espaciar los sitios arqueológicos prehistóricos ubicados en el área del Proyecto Geoparque Cariri Paraibano, que incluye los municipios de Boa Vista, Boqueirão, Cabaceiras y São João do Cariri, en la región de los Cariris Velhos da Paraíba. A partir de la investigación bibliográfica y de campo, se identificaron 55 yacimientos en la zona de estudio, 11 de los cuales aún no habían sido citados en trabajos científicos. En el mapa elaborado fue posible espaciar 36 sitios, ya que los demás no presentaban detalles en la bibliografía y tampoco se pudo acceder al campo. Hubo discrepancias en la toponimia y la descripción de los yacimientos en la bibliografía, así como la posibilidad de la existencia de más yacimientos aún no identificados en la zona. O patrimônio arqueológico reveste-se de importância na construção da memória de um determinado local, possibilitando entender sua história e incentivar a valorização do passado como instrumento de compreensão do mundo em que se vive. O desconhecimento sobre a existência e valor dos sítios arqueológicos pode se tornar um dos principais fatores de sua degradação. Assim sendo, este trabalho teve como intuito identificar e espacializar os sítios arqueológicos pré-históricos situados na área do Projeto Geoparque Cariri Paraibano, que abrange os municípios de Boa Vista, Boqueirão, Cabaceiras e São João do Cariri, na região dos Cariris Velhos da Paraíba. Com base em pesquisas bibliográficas e de campo, foram identificados 55 sítios na área de estudo, sendo que 11 ainda não haviam sido citados em trabalhos científicos. No mapa elaborado foi possível especializar 36 sítios pois os demais não apresentavam detalhes na bibliografia e nem foram possíveis de acessar em campo. Verificou-se discrepâncias de toponímia e descrição dos sítios em bibliografia, bem como a possibilidade de existência de mais sítios ainda não identificados na área.
