Abstract

To clarify the contribution of mechanosorptive effect and compliance evolution according to moisture content during adsorption under load creep tests on longitudinal spruce specimens in variable environment were performed. By comparing different loading history we observe that creep increase during the first adsorption (++ effect) mostly results from the increase of compliance induced by higher moisture content. We also discuss the viscoelasticity and mechanosorptive interaction during creep.

Abstract

La cronobiología es la disciplina que investiga cómo los procesos biológicos se estructuran en ciclos temporales en respuesta a variaciones ambientales, como los ritmos circadianos, ultradianos e infradianos. A pesar de que la investigación ha dado mayor atención a los ritmos circadianos, los ritmos ultradianos e infradianos también son clave para una comprensión integral de la cronobiología. Los ritmos ultradianos, con ciclos de menos de 24 horas, suelen ser mecanismos anticipatorios que responden ante perturbaciones impredecibles, entre las que destacan los ritmos circahorales (ciclos de entre 20 minutos y 2 horas) y circatidales (de aproximadamente 12 horas). Los ritmos infradianos abarcan ciclos mayores a un día, destacando los ritmos circaseptales (de aproximadamente 7 días), circalunares (28-32 días) y estacionales o circanuales (regulados por procesos temporales asociados a las estaciones del año). La implicación de estos ritmos en diversos procesos fisiológicos y patológicos ha sido también demostrada, apoyando, por tanto, la relevancia de considerar a ambos como un elemento de estudio en el área de la cronobiología. Por otro lado, la cronomedicina es un área traslacional en expansión que trata de aplicar el conocimiento básico de la cronobiología a la práctica clínica, influyendo en el manejo del sueño y en el abordaje farmacológico y no farmacológico de diversas patologías. En esta segunda parte, se detallará la relevancia de los ritmos ultradianos e infradianos en la salud y la enfermedad, describiendo igualmente los mecanismos subyacentes a estos ritmos biológicos. Además, se discutirá cómo el conocimiento de estos ritmos y de los ritmos circadianos puede ser aplicado en el ámbito médico, explorando posibles enfoques traslacionales basados en la cronobiología para el tratamiento y el manejo de enfermedades, destacando también las intervenciones basadas en el estilo de vida o especificidades asociadas al ciclo menstrual de la mujer.

Abstract

La cronobiología es la disciplina que estudia cómo los procesos biológicos se organizan en ciclos temporales en respuesta a fluctuaciones ambientales, como los ritmos circadianos, ultradianos e infradianos. Los ritmos circadianos, de aproximadamente 24 horas, responden a la alternancia de luz y oscuridad y a otras variaciones, mientras que los ultradianos ocurren en ciclos de menos de 24 horas y los infradianos abarcan ciclos mayores a un día. La cronobiología ofrece múltiples aplicaciones médicas. Se ha demostrado la importancia de cada uno de estos ritmos en una gran variedad de procesos fisiológicos, actuando de manera coordinada, regulando así las distintas funciones del organismo. Por otro lado, la pérdida o disrupción de estos ritmos se ha asociado con una gran variedad de patologías clínicas. La desregulación de estos ritmos se asocia con un sinfín de patologías médicas. En esta primera parte del trabajo se desarrollará el concepto de cronobiología y se presentarán los principales tipos de ritmos biológicos existentes en el cuerpo. Después, nos centraremos en detallar los mecanismos clave subyacentes a los ritmos circadianos, junto con su influencia en distintos procesos fisiológicos y patológicos.

Abstract

It has been observed that the trajectory of a H2 molecular beam is modified as it passes through a homogeneous magnetic field and an oscillating magnetic field. Based on this observation, this work describes a new method to determine the magnetic moment of atoms and molecules with internal angular momentum. This new method is similar to that used in the Molecular Beam Magnetic Resonance (MBMR) but 'it does not employ' the inhomogeneous fields A and B. Results shown here are in agreement with the theory of the motion of systems with internal angular momentum developed by M.Dorado. Furthermore, in this work the transition mechanism given by I.I. Abstract

This study is aimed at analysing the effect of vacuum frying on the kinetic parameters of mass transfer, the CIE L∗a∗b∗ colour parameters of the Carimañola. For the kinetic analysis, the moisture and oil content were measured by means of an experimental design consisting of two factors: frying time with seven levels (60, 120, 180, 240, 300, 420, and 540 s) and frying temperature with three levels (120, 130, and 140°C). The diffusivity coefficient, the moisture transfer rate, and the oil adsorption rate, with their respective activation energies, were calculated. For the colour analysis, the reflectance technique was used to determine the colour coordinates of the CIE L∗a∗b∗ space, and the general colour change was calculated (ΔE). Concerning the kinetics, the increase in temperature and frying time reduced the moisture content, while the oil content decreased with the increase in temperature and increases with frying time. The diffusivity ranged from 1,238×10−6 m2/s at 120°C to 2,84×10−6 m2/s at 140°C. The mass transfer coefficients for moisture ranged from 2×10−4 m/s at 120°C to 4×10−4 m/s at 140°C. The values of the oil uptake rate were from 0.0022 s-1 at 120°C to 0.0018 s-1 at 140°C. Finally, the luminosity parameter shows a decrease with the increase in temperature, although the first 240 s shows a rise and then begins to decrease. Vacuum frying allowed Carimañolas to be obtained with a lower oil and moisture content, with an appropriate colouring, eye-catching and visually attractive to consumers.
