Hand, foot, and mouth disease (HFMD) is a prevalent acute infectious disease caused by enteroviruses, presenting substantial public health challenges in Shanghai, especially among children. The dynamic nature of HFMD's etiology necessitates an ongoing evaluation of its epidemiological and virological trends to inform effective control strategies. This study aims to investigate the epidemiological patterns and viral evolution of HFMD in Fengxian District, Shanghai, China, with a focus on shifts in predominant viral strains over a 14-year period. We conducted a retrospective analysis of HFMD cases reported to the National Notifiable Disease Reporting System in Fengxian District from January 1, 2009 to December 31, 2022. Epidemiological trends, strain prevalence, and demographic impacts were assessed. A total of 27,272 HFMD cases were documented during the study period, with incidence showing pronounced seasonal fluctuations—peaking in spring and summer and a lesser peak in autumn. The disease incidence demonstrated significant positive correlations with several meteorological variables: daily average temperature (r = 0.30, P < 0.05), relative humidity (r = 0.20, P < 0.05), wind speed (r = 0.17, P < 0.05), and precipitation (r = 0.17, P < 0.05). Geographically, Nanqiao Town, Fengcheng Town, and Xidu Subdistrict reported the highest incidence rates. The demographic analysis revealed a male-to-female ratio of 1.60:1, predominantly affecting children aged 1–3 years. Prior to 2017, Enterovirus 71 (EV71) and Coxsackievirus A16 (CoxA16) were the primary detected strains; post-2017, Coxsackievirus A6 (CoxA6) emerged as the dominant strain. Statistical analysis confirmed significant year-to-year variations in virus detection rates, with decreasing trends for EV71 and other enteroviruses and an increasing trend for CoxA6. The findings indicate a distinct seasonal incidence of HFMD in Fengxian District. This study underscores the need for targeted public health education, enhanced surveillance, and proactive measures in childcare facilities to mitigate disease spread during peak seasons. Effective monitoring techniques and equipment are essential for the prevention and control of coal and rock dynamic disasters such as rockburst. Based on the fact that there is charge generation during deformation and rupture of coal rock body and the charge signals contain a large amount of information about the mechanical process of deformation and rupture of coal rock, the rockburst charge sensing monitoring technology has been formed. In order to improve the charge sensing technology for monitoring and early warning of rockburst disasters, this paper develops a new generation of portable coal rock charge monitoring instrument on the basis of the original instrument and carries out laboratory and underground field application. The primary advancement involves enhancing the external structure of the sensor and increasing the charge sensing area, which can more comprehensively capture the charge signals from the loaded rupture of the coal rock body. The overall structure of the data acquisition instrument has been improved, the monitoring channels have been increased, and the function of displaying the monitoring data curve has been added, so that the coal and rock body force status can be grasped in time. The results of the experimental study show that the abnormal charge signals can be monitored during the rupture process of rock samples under loading, and the monitored charge signals are in good agreement with the sudden change of stress in the rock samples and the formation of crack extension. There is a precursor charge signal before the stress mutation, and the larger the loading rate is, the earlier the precursor charge signal appears. The charge monitoring instrument can monitor the charge signal of the coal seam roadway under strong mining pressure. In the zone of elevated overburden pressure, the amount of induced charge is large, and anomalously high value charge signals can be monitored when a coal shot occurs. The change trend of the charge at different measuring points of strike and inclination has a good consistency with the distribution of overrunning support pressure and lateral support pressure, which can reflect the stress distribution and the degree of stress concentration of the coal body through the size and location of the charge, foster early warning and analysis of rockburst, and provide target guidance for the prevention and control of rockburst. This paper presents an innovative study on the application of TENG technology in sports science, with the results illustrating the potential utility of TENGs in revolutionizing the way we monitor, analyze, and enhance athletic performance. Through the development of self-powered wearables and equipment, TENGs facilitate real-time data collection on physiological and biomechanical parameters, ultimately enabling personalized training adjustments and injury prevention strategies. Rice diseases and pests are one of the important factors affecting rice yield and quality. It is of great significance to strengthening the prevention and control of diseases and pests. The article elaborates on the development process of a rice pest detection and warning platform from three aspects of demand analysis, technical system architecture and functional modules. Through the use of surrounding environmental in- formation and image recognition technology, the rice pest detection and warning function was achieved, improving the efficiency of rice pest prevention and control. After analysis and research, it was found that there were still some problems with the rice pest detection and warning platform. In the future, in-depth research could be conducted from three aspects of enhancing the regional adaptability of the system, improving the recognition effect of small pests and constructing high-quality agricultural pest and disease datasets. Objective To investigate the occupational hazards in workplaces in Beibei District of Chongqing in 2023. Methods The monitoring data of occupational hazards in 30 key manufacturing industries in Beibei District of Chongqing in 2023 were derived from the "Workplace Occupational Disease Hazard Monitoring System" and analyzed. Results There were statistically significant differences in the exposure rate of occupational hazards among enterprise personnel of different scales, economic types and industries(P<0.01). The over-standard rate of dust exposure posts was 50.00% (37/74), among which the over-standard rate of silica dust exposure posts was the highest, mainly distributed in non-metallic mineral products industry and metal products industry. The over-standard rate of exposure to chemical hazards was 1.64% (1/61). The exceeding standard rate of noise exposure posts was 50.00% (62/124), mainly distributed in the metal products industry. There was a statistically significant difference in the over-standard rate of exposure to different types of occupational hazard factors (P<0.01). Conclusion In the manufacturing industry in Beibei District of Chongqing City, the over-standard rate of silica dust and noise exposure posts is high, mainly distributed in the non-metallic mineral products industry and metal products industry. Objectives: This study aimed to assess the knowledge, attitudes, and practices (KAP) and the training requirements of pediatric intensive care nurses regarding intra-abdominal pressure (IAP) monitoring, in order to provide a reference for the development of relevant training programs and operational procedures in clinical practice. Methods: This descriptive cross-sectional survey was conducted from April 2023 to June 2023. A convenience sample was created by recruiting 212 pediatric intensive care nurses in eight hospitals in Zhejiang Province. A self-developed IAP monitoring KAP assessment tool was used for evaluation, which included knowledge (14 items), attitude (6 items), and practice (8 items), three dimensions, 28 items. Results: The overall KAP score was 60.73 ± 8.35; the knowledge score was 7.84 ± 2.35, with a scoring rate of 56.0%; the attitude score was 25.16 ± 3.23, with a scoring rate of 83.9%; and the practice score was 28.44 ± 6.46, with a scoring rate of 69.3%. This research revealed the factors that cause firm distress in the Chinese market. The stock exchange–listed firm samples are classified as moderate or severe distressed firms if they receive a special treatment warning from stock exchanges due to continuous negative net loss or are suffering from negative equities. By applying ordinary least square and logit regressions to the 2015–2022 data sample, the results showed that market power and internal and external monitoring significantly affect the likelihood of firm distress. Interestingly, debt only negatively affects a firm's earnings, has no impact on moderate firm distress, and reduces the likelihood of falling into severe distress. State-owned enterprises (SOEs) receive government support and are therefore less likely to be distressed, in contrast to family-owned firms. The recovery results confirmed that SOEs are easier to recover that family-owned firms. The ability to repay debt increases credibility and is a good signal of recovery. We differentiated from past discussions that focused on earning management and business failure. Our research contributes to the literature by analyzing firm distress and recovery from market power and monitoring, which are not well discussed with observable evidence. These findings could be helpful for both corporate and regulatory policy decision-making.

This article focuses on researching and constructing a system for controlling and monitoring important parameters related to the poultry egg incubation, such as temperature, humidity, egg turning, light, ventilation, and egg cooling, applying network connectivity technologies and utilizing advanced microcontrollers. The system's functions meet real-time requirements such as: real-time data from the incubation chamber can be controlled and monitored directly or remotely via a personal computer. Through this, users can adjust the parameters on the system to achieve the highest success rate in the incubation process. Experimental results show that the system operates stably with a hatch rate of nearly 95%, meeting the requirements set out by the design research. The actual product is highly robust, easy to install, operate, maintain, and service.

Abstract Background Hyperthyroidism in humans is associated with a hypercoagulable state and an increased risk of thromboembolism. Objective To evaluate hemostatic variables in hyperthyroid and euthyroid cats with the hypothesis that hyperthyroid cats will have evidence of altered hemostasis consistent with a potential hypercoagulable state. Animals Client‐owned hyperthyroid (n = 16) and euthyroid (n = 15) cats over 8 years of age. Methods Prospective observational study. Hyperthyroid and euthyroid cats were enrolled. Rotational thromboelastometry (ROTEM), whole‐blood platelet impedance aggregometry (WBPIA) and a point‐of‐care viscoelastic coagulation monitor (VCM‐Vet) were performed immediately after minimally traumatic venipuncture under sedation. Results Hyperthyroid cats had significantly higher values for variables as assessed by VCM‐Vet: A10 (34 [17‐47] vs 25 [17‐38], P = .003); A20 (39.5 [23‐55] vs 31 [21‐45], P = .003); and MCF (41 [24‐58] vs 35 [22‐49], P = .03). Objective: To observe the application of the controlled respiratory persistence monitor designed based on the principle of rhythmic temperature variations in artificial airways among different populations and in various artificial airways, and to discuss the feasibility and efficacy of monitoring controlled respiration persistence, and to provide a new method for the clinical respiratory monitoring. Methods: A total of 60 adult patients scheduled for general anesthesia, and 30 pediatric patients aged from 1 to 3 years old, classified as American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA)Ⅰ-Ⅱ, were selected. A total of 60 adult patients were randomly divided into adult tracheal intubation (ATI) group and adult laryngeal mask(ALM) group, and there were 30 cases in each group. Additionally, 30 pediatric patients aged from 1 to 3 years old were regarded as pediatric tracheal intubation (CTI) group. After induction of general anesthesia, the patients in CTI and ATI groups were underwent tracheal intubation, while the patients in ALM group were given a laryngeal mask inserted and were connected to the anesthesia machine for mechanical ventilation. Whether or not the device could detect the respiratory rate (RR)of the patients in various groups was observed; the RR detected by the device and the frequency set on the anesthesia machine in various groups were compared. All the patients in three groups were simulated three common clinical scenarios of continuous respiration changes before surgery: disconnection of the breathing circuit, failure to switch from manual to mechanical control on the anesthesia machine, and slow air leakage in the breathing circuit. The ways to report the alert and start time of the atarm by the monitors were compared. Results: The controlled respiratory persistence monitor was able to detect the RR of the patients in three groups, and there was no significantly difference between the RR detected by the device and the frequency set on the anesthesia machine (P>0. 05). In the simulated scenarios of common respiratory persistence changes, all the patients in three groups received an artificial voice alarm signaling “Attention, breathing has stopped. ”, which was acknowledged. There was no significant difference in the start time of alarm of the controlled respiratory persistence monitor between ATI group and ALM group (P>0. 05). Compared with the start time of alarm of the patients in the same group across different scenarios, compared with slow air leakage in the breathing circuit, the start time to alarm for circuit disconnection and failure to switch from manual to mechanical control was shorter (P<0. 05). Conclusion: The clinical application of the controlled respiratory persistence monitor device designed based on the principle of detecting rhythmic temperature variations within artificial airways is feasible and effective in different populations and artificial airways. Communication could be an essential part of couples in their daily life. Based on Monitor and Acceptance Theory (MAT), the present study explored the mediating role of communication in the relationship between mindfulness and relationship quality among college-student couples. The research examined the dynamic relationship of monitoring and acceptance to relationship satisfaction in the Actor-Partner Interdependence Model (APIM), and the mediating effect of positive or negative communications in these relationships. A total of 96 pairs of couples in the universities in Nanjing, China participated in the research. Momentary measurements were used to measure the momentary levels of their monitor, acceptance, positive/negative communication, and relationship satisfaction. A Hierarchical Linear Model (HLM) was used to deal with the APIM. Results showed that the women's monitor facet of state mindfulness negatively predicted men's relationship satisfaction through women's negative communication, and the women's acceptance facet of state mindfulness positively predicted women's relationship satisfaction through women's positive and negative communication at the within-person level. The study highlights the importance of cooperation in monitoring and acceptance for couples to own and hold high levels of relationship satisfaction. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Opportune detection of Anthonomus eugenii is a fundamental aspect of any management program to this pest. Yellow traps are the most common monitoring strategy, and its efficacy is related with the trap design and placement within crops. However, there's limited information on this. Two outdoor experiments were performed to determine the efficiency of traps with six different shapes (circle, square, diamond, ellipse, rectangle, and triangle) and seven frame colors (yellow, dark green, black, red, white, purple, and blue); seven to the traps placement at four orientations (North, South, East and West), five aside distances from the bed center (0, 20, 40, 60 and 80 cm aside to the inter-bed space) and six heights (0, 20, 40, 60, 80 and100 cm) on A. eugenii adults. There wasn't significant difference among shapes and orientations. Traps with yellow, dark green and black frames had the highest number of insects. For the aside distance, the plots were categorized according to their width as narrow (54–65 cm) and wide (71–81 cm), the highest insects caught was exhibited on traps at 0–20 and 0–40 cm, respectively. Regarding the traps height, they were classified according to their height as short (62–64 cm), medium (78–82 cm) and tall (90–92 cm), the highest insects caught was exhibited on traps at 20–40, 40–60, and 40–80 cm, respectively. Regression analyzes indicate that catches decrease as the traps are installed into the inter-bed space and above the canopy. Simple Summary: Neoplasia is a complex disease that affects many species across the animal kingdom, including lizards. Currently, cancer in lizard species is an understudied part of veterinary medicine. In this study, we focused on identifying factors that could aid in improving patient care and quality of life for lizards with neoplasia. We identified multiple factors including species, type of neoplasia, and type of treatment significantly associated with both positive and negative outcomes for lizards affected by different types of neoplasia. Specifically, we tested for statistical associations between eight clinical factors and patient outcomes. We used reported cases of neoplasia in lizards from published papers, as well as a clinical oncology database for exotic animal species. We also identified a subset of neoplasia types that were not associated with death due to their neoplasia. Our results highlight the importance of determining variables that aid veterinarians in deciding the most appropriate care for their patients. We expect that future research in this area will improve our understanding of neoplasia in lizards and better improve the identification of predictor variables for improving patient outcomes. Neoplasia has been reported in lizards, but more research is needed to accurately document the prevalence and prognosis of the various known neoplasms that affect lizards. This study reviewed medical records from an online database, the Exotic Species Cancer Research Alliance (ESCRA), and reviewed published literature to determine the prevalence of neoplasia, malignancy, metastasis, treatment strategies, and outcomes by species and sex. Records from 55 individual lizards, 20 different species, and 37 different tumors were identified. In the literature, 219 lizards, 59 species, and 86 unique tumors were identified from 72 published case reports. Potential signalment factors such as age, sex, and species were evaluated to see if they affected case outcome. Additional factors including neoplasia type, presence of metastasis, and types of pursued treatments were also evaluated. Statistical analysis was performed to determine whether a factor was significantly associated with animal death due to the identified neoplasia or with animal survival or death due to other causes (non-neoplastic outcomes). Komodo dragons and savannah monitors were more likely to die from neoplasia compared to other lizard species. Cases where the status of metastasis was unknown were significantly associated with death due to neoplasia. Having an unknown status of male versus female was significantly associated with non-neoplastic outcomes of death. Leukemia and islet cell carcinoma were significantly associated with death due to neoplastic causes. Chondrosarcoma, myxosarcoma, osteosarcoma, and squamous cell carcinoma were significantly associated with non-neoplastic outcomes of death. Surgery alone and radiation therapy alone each were significantly associated with non-neoplastic outcomes of death, while lizards not receiving treatment were significantly associated with death due to neoplasia. Benign neoplasia was significantly associated with non-neoplastic outcomes of death. These results will aid in the improved diagnosis and management of neoplasia in lizard species, as well as expanding our understanding of prognostic indicators of neoplasia in lizards. High-voltage circuit breakers are the core equipment in power networks, and to a certain extent, are related to the safe and reliable operation of power systems. However, their core components are prone to mechanical faults. This study proposes a component separation method to detect multiple mechanical faults in circuit breakers that can achieve online real-time monitoring. First, a model and strategy are presented for obtaining mechanical voiceprint signals from circuit breakers. Subsequently, the component separation method was used to decompose the voiceprint signals of multiple faults into individual component signals. Based on this, the recognition of the features of a single-fault voiceprint signal can be achieved. Finally, multiple faults in high-voltage circuit breakers were identified through an experimental simulation and verification of the circuit breaker voiceprint signals collected from the substation site. The research results indicate that the proposed method exhibits excellent performance for multiple mechanical faults, such as spring structures and loose internal components of circuit breakers. In addition, it provides a reference method for the real-time online monitoring of high-voltage circuit breakers.

Neutron monitor data is currently corrected only for the barometric effect. We cannot, however, exclude that changes in air humidity affect the intensity of the cosmic-ray neutron component recorded by neutron monitors. In this regard, we have carried out continuous measurements of air humidity and temperature when observing variations in the cosmic ray intensity with a neutron monitor in Novosibirsk. Analysis of the results of observations of meteorological parameters and cosmic ray intensity in Novosibirsk, as well as data from the global network of neutron monitors, made it possible to identify neutron component intensity variations caused by changes in air humidity. The estimated humidity effect indicates the need to regularly take it into account in the neutron monitor data. This study proposes a novel method using hybrid CNN-LSTM networks to measure and predict the effectiveness of speech and vision therapy. Traditional methods for evaluating therapy often rely on subjective assessments, lacking precision and efficiency. By combining CNN for visual data and MFCC for speech, alongside LSTM for temporal dependencies, the system captures dynamic changes in patients’ conditions. Pre-processing of audio and visual data enhances accuracy, and the model’s performance outperforms existing methods. This approach exhibits the potential of deep learning in monitoring patient progress effectively in speech and vision therapy, offering valuable insights for improving treatment outcomes. The proposed system’s effectiveness is assessed by various performance metrics. The suggested system’s results are compared with those of other methods already in use. Mining of manganese leads to significant heavy metal contamination, affecting the adjacent ecosystems. Therefore, it is crucial to monitor heavy metal levels in mining areas. This study examined heavy metal concentrations (Cr, Mn, Cu, Zn, Sr, Mo, Cd, and Pb) in vegetation and soil within the wetland area of the Zhaiying manganese slag discharge field in Songtao County, Guizhou Province, China. The assessment utilized the single-factor pollution index method (Pi), Nemerow comprehensive pollution index method (Pn), and correlation analysis. Two local plant species, Philonotis and Spirogyra, were used as sample materials. The findings revealed varying degrees of heavy metal contamination across all sites, with intensity increasing closer to the slag discharge area. Notably, Philonotis displayed a higher heavy metal accumulation capacity than Spirogyra. Statistical analysis revealed a significant positive correlation (P < 0.05) between Philonotis and soil heavy metals (Mn, Zn, and Cd) and between Spirogyra and specific soil heavy metals (Mn and Sr). Linear fit analysis indicated a strong association between Philonotis and soil manganese, suggesting that Philonotis is an effective bioindicator for monitoring environmental heavy metal pollution in slag discharge field wetlands. The manganese content in Philonotis exceeded 10,000 mg/kg, indicating potential as a hyperaccumulator, warranting further investigation. Chimeric antigen receptor (CAR)‐positive cell therapy, specifically with anti‐CD19 CAR‐T (CAR19‐T) cells, achieves a high complete response during tumor treatment for hematological malignancies. Large‐scale production and application of CAR‐T therapy can be achieved by developing efficient and low‐cost enrichment methods for CAR‐T cells, expansion monitoring in vivo, and overcoming tumor escape. Here, novel CAR‐specific binding aptamers (CAR‐ap) to traceless sort CAR‐positive cells and obtain a high positive rate of CAR19‐T cells is identified. Additionally, CAR‐ap‐enriched CAR19‐T cells exhibit similar antitumor capacity as CAR‐ab (anti‐CAR antibody)‐enriched CAR‐T cells. Moreover, CAR‐ap accurately monitors the expansion of CAR19‐T cells in vivo and predicts the prognosis of CAR‐T treatment. Essentially, a novel class of stable CAR‐ap‐based bispecific circular aptamers (CAR‐bc‐ap) is constructed by linking CAR‐ap with a tumor surface antigen (TSA): protein tyrosine kinase 7 (PTK7) binding aptamer Sgc8. These CAR‐bc‐aps significantly enhance antitumor cytotoxicity with a loss of target antigens by retargeting CAR‐T cells to the tumor in vitro and in vivo. Overall, novel CAR‐aptamers are screened for traceless enrichment, monitoring of CAR‐positive cells, and overcoming tumor cell immune escape. Healthcare visits were reduced during the COVID-19 pandemic, causing disturbances in sustainable MAFLD monitoring. Telemedicine acts to maintain connectivity between patients and healthcare professionals. This review aimed to assess the role of telemedicine in monitoring MAFLD during the pandemic. Databases searched included l PubMed Central and ScienceDirect from 2020 to 2023. Assessment with The Cochrane Risk of Bias for randomized controlled trials (RCTs) and the Newcastle-Ottawa scale for non-RCTs systematic reviews. Meta-analyses employing a random-effect model were performed to determine the pooled mean difference (MD) and p-value. The results showed three RCT and two non-RCT (n = 239) with 56.9% males and a mean age of 51.3 years. The median intervention duration was 5.5 months. The parameters assessed included body weight (BW), body mass index (BMI), waist circumference, liver function (AST/ALT), lipid profile, HbA1c, and others. Meta-analysis revealed that telemedicine had a significant effect on improving outcomes for BW (MD −2.81: 95% CI, −4.11, −1.51, p < 0.0001) and BMI (MD −1.01: 95% CI, −1.47, −0.55, p < 0.0001) compared to standard care, while the AST/ALT levels were not significantly reduced. Some biochemical markers decreased based on the systematic reviews. Terrorism poses a significant threat to security, and the need for an accurate monitoring visualization tool is essential for effective counterterrorism. However, the unavailability of such a customized tool is still a challenge in Mindanao, Philippines. Therefore, a terrorism visualization tool was developed in this study, covering the years 1975 to 2017. The methodology involved intensive data collection from the Global Terrorism Database and other reliable sources and featured the design development of a visualization tool in the form of a dashboard using Python. Also, regions with high terrorism activities along with major perpetrators have been presented. Findings indicate that Maguindanao yields the highest death frequency, with New People's Army (NPA) as the leading perpetrator as verified by the spatial map projection and overall preliminary prediction. This critical issue in monitoring, assessing, and evaluating learners' outputs has led the researchers to find an alternative solution which their fellow teachers in the same grade level may benefit from. The researchers conducted an online survey via Google Forms and interviews to Grade Six teachers, parents, and pupils of Sta. Cruz Elementary School about their experience, perceptions, and struggles in the process of monitoring, assessing, and evaluating learners' outputs. Finding similar perceptions of teachers regarding the difficulty in checking learners' outputs, the researchers tried an alternative way in checking outputs of their pupils. The use of Facebook messenger was commonly used for announcements and sharing of information and queries regarding the learning of the pupils and activities such as distribution and retrieval of learning materials. However, the researchers saw this app as a channel for checking outputs. They have tried asking the pupils and learners to capture their answer sheets, performance tasks, and projects and send them through the teacher's messenger via private message. The researchers used quantitative and qualitative descriptive research in gathering, interpreting, and analyzing data to determine the effectiveness and implications of the intervention. Based on the gathered data, it has been concluded that maximizing FB Messenger in monitoring, assessing, and evaluating of outputs of selected grade six learners of Sta. Cruz Elementary School is a great help for teachers, parents, and learners. It helped the teachers regularly check learners' outputs without asking the parents to come to school weekly. Some teachers, parents, and learners would like to continue using this strategy as it alleviated the burden of checking accumulated answer sheets, lessened the number visits in school and allows prompt feedback to learners. To deeply understand the characteristics of soil freeze–thaw water–heat change in the alpine grassland in the Duogerong Basin of the Yellow River source, the soil water–heat profile change monitoring was carried out based on the field monitoring station in the Duogerong Basin of the Yellow River source. By analyzing the comprehensive monitoring data from September 2022 to September 2023, the characteristics of the soil temperature and water content changes in the freeze–thaw cycle of the alpine grassland in the Duogerong Basin at the source of the Yellow River were explored. The results showed that the temperature and water content of each layer of the soil profile changed periodically, and the range of change was negatively correlated with the depth. The annual freeze–thaw process at the observation site is divided into five stages: 31 October to 3 November is the short initial freezing period, 4 November to 18 April is the stable freezing period, 19 April to 26 April is the early ablation period, 27 April to 30 April is the late ablation period, and 1 May to 30 October is the complete ablation period. The maximum soil freezing depth during the observation period was about 250 cm. Soil temperature and moisture content change affect each other; soil water is essential in heat transfer, and the two correlate well. The research results provide theoretical support for further understanding the characteristics of soil hydrothermal changes during the freeze–thaw process in the alpine grassland permafrost area at the source of the Yellow River. Technological advancement in the rise of the Internet of Things (IoT) and computational modelling and application development has revolutionized medical care. Monitoring cardiovascular risks is faster, easier, and more accurate than ever. Using IoT-enabled computational modelling and application development, medical professionals can detect, monitor, and predict certain conditions more efficiently. That paper explores the Internet of Things (IoT) enabled computational model and application development that can be used to monitor cardiovascular risks effectively. Cardiovascular diseases are the leading cause of death globally, and currently, there is a lack of comprehensive and reliable monitoring systems to assess the risk of such diseases. IoT enables the integration of different data sources, such as physical activity, diet, BMI and the environmental context, to form a comprehensive tracking tool that can provide accurate cardiovascular risk assessment. The developed application can offer personalized health coaching, leveraging machine learning algorithms to identify patterns and adapt a user's healthcare journey. Ultimately, this paper assesses the potential of IoT technology for monitoring cardiovascular risks and integrating it into current healthcare systems.

BackgroundThe SurePulse vital signs (VS) device is an innovative wireless heart rate monitor designed for neonatal patients. This study evaluates the application of SurePulse VS technology in clinical practice.MethodsData were collected about the quantitative metrics of the device itself when deployed on real infants and qualitative feedback from perinatal professionals and parents regarding their experiences using this novel technology.ResultsThis study recruited 101 infants and achieved target completion rates of 101 healthcare professional (HCP) and 51 parent questionnaires over the seven-month study period. The SurePulse device was deployed across a range of gestational ages (34–39 weeks) and birth weights (1.8–3.5 kg). Device deployment was performed across a range of clinical environments, with 51% of deployments at delivery and 47% within the neonatal unit. The data show clinically acceptable timings from device deployment to heart rate signal acquisition [median 20 s (IQR 15–76 s)]. HCP feedback rated SurePulse monitoring as “Always” or “Mostly” reliable in 80% of cases. Parental feedback reported that having the SurePulse device was reassuring, convenient and beneficial to them. These positive comments were reflected across device deployment in the delivery room and within the neonatal unit.ConclusionsThe study findings show that the SurePulse device has potential to be a significant advancement in the way neonatal patients are monitored in a variety of post-delivery circumstances. This study has demonstrated that the SurePulse device has utility throughout the neonatal journey, enabling accurate heart rate monitoring in a manner that promotes parent-infant contact and bonding.

With the application and development of new technologies such as the Internet of Things and big data in the energy field, smart grids have gradually become the main trend for the future development of the power system. However, frequent communication between various participants in the smart grid can lead to higher privacy leakage risks, and malicious attackers can cause economic losses and security accidents to the smart grid by injecting abnormal power data. To address the issues of data privacy protection and anomaly detection in smart grids, this study proposed a matrix completion based smart grid data privacy protection scheme and an unsupervised learning based smart grid anomaly data detection scheme. A matrix completion based smart grid data privacy protection scheme was proposed to address the issue of data privacy protection between different trust domains in the smart grid. This scheme repaired missing elements in the relevant matrix through matrix completion, and increased random perturbations by adding noise with the same statistical characteristics as the original data to achieve data privacy protection. To address the issue of missing power data labels and inaccurate principal component analysis caused by abnormal data, an improved K-means clustering algorithm was used to remove outliers and optimize the results, to achieve accurate detection of abnormal data. The experimental results showed that the proposed algorithm has an accuracy of 0.9, an F1 value of 0.7, and a Bayesian detection rate of 0.61, all of which are higher than other algorithms. The AUC value of the proposed method was 0.79, indicating that the scheme established in this chapter has certain advantages in detecting abnormal electricity consumption.

Thyroid function needs to be carefully assessed during the shift from Hashimoto's to Graves' disease, using important markers such as thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) levels, thyroid antibodies, and ultrasound imaging. TSH levels play a crucial role in the diagnosis and treatment of thyroid disorders, since increased levels indicate an underactive thyroid (Hashimoto's) and decreased levels indicate an overactive thyroid (Graves'). Furthermore, the identification of certain antibodies such as anti-thyroglobulin and anti-thyroperoxidase can aid in distinguishing between the two autoimmune disorders. Ultrasound imaging provides further information by visually representing the dimensions and composition of the thyroid gland, aiding in the early identification of nodules or enlargement linked to both pathological conditions. Consistent surveillance and cooperation among healthcare practitioners are essential for efficiently handling the shift from Hashimoto's to Graves' disease, guaranteeing the best possible results for patients. This paper proposes a transient event-capturing circuit and adaptive PI control to monitor and improve the transient response of a superbuck converter. The transient event-capturing circuit is composed of coupling and capturing circuits. The coupling circuit converts the output voltage to the sensed voltage, whereas the DC and ripple components are eliminated. By counting the up-crossing and down-crossing numbers of the sensed voltage, the capturing circuit classifies the output voltage response into different transient events according to oscillation cycles. The transient events carry the stability information that can be used to adjust the bandwidth and phase margin. Finally, an adaptive PI controller is implemented with the proposed transient event-capturing circuit to improve the stability and transient response. Experimental results of the 100 W superbuck converter verify the effectiveness of the adaptive PI controller for improving the transient response and stability. The adaptive PI controller eliminates the oscillations due to deviated parameters and operating conditions.
