Economic evaluation of shilat activities in west Azarbaijan in order to evaluate the economic viability of production and fishery activities in internal Rivers and Reservoirs and fish farming. The capital expenses and profit and Loss account items of 34 fish farms and 2 fishery cooperatives in the Aras Reservoir have been examined, The result of this evaluation indicate that there are reasonable, profitability in the cold water fish farming and hence it is expected that the culture and farming of Rain bow trout to be increased in the province. The result also show that warm water fish farming have been profitable Although the rate of profitability has not been satisfactory, and in one instance there was a loss result. It is expected that the Application of an advanced normative biotechnical culture and farming of warm water Fishes would. Result in increased production and higher profitability. Amongst the shifat activities the production and fishery from internal Reservoirs account for 3/080 of the total production and fishery of the province, and it is the best source of employment in fish industry which provides living for more than one thousand families. Therefore further investment in the area of the development of fishing Reservoir and an advanced management of fishery technics would Result in higher production and better profitability for the Fishermen in the province.
