This study investigated the impact of a cylindrical obstacle on convection in an inclined square cavity filled with water-Al2O3 nanofluid. Using the finite volume method, the problem was resolved by having the inner cylinder rotate adiabatically while other walls were thermally insulated. Additionally, the bottom wall was hotter than the top. The study examined the effects of cylindrical obstacle radius (0.1 ≤ R ≤ 0.2), rotation speed (-500 ≤ Ω ≤ 500), Richardson number (0.01 ≤ Ri ≤ 100), volumetric nanoparticle fraction (0.02), and Grashof number (Gr = 104 ) on heat transfer rate or Nusselt number. The results were compared with previous literature, and the influence of the cylindrical obstacle rotational speed on convection flow was evaluated. An increase in the counterclockwise angular rotating speed resulted in higher nanofluid flux. The heat transmission coefficient increased as the Richardson number decreased. The use of nanofluid in the enclosure increased the coefficient of heat flow through mixed convection. Finally, the study showed that the convection heat exchange is enhanced with the increase in the radius. Moreover, an enhancement of the Nusselt number around 46% was reported for the cylinder, under Gr=10000, ∅=0.02, =45° and Ri= 10.

Nowadays, innovative biodegradable packaging based on pH-sensitive natural dyes is being developed. These smart systems quickly inform the food quality to the consumer and monitor fresh foods in real-time. Smart packaging protects food against ambiance risks and simultaneously sends information to users for variations and alterations in the packaging settings. Anthocyanin (ACY), among the natural dyes used as indicators serves as water-soluble flavonoid pigments which made reflection in light in the red-blue range and can detect chemical and microbial alterations in foods based on their pH-susceptible conditions; on the other hand, they have considerable antimicrobial and antioxidant functions that result in the longer shelf life of food products. They also have beneficial properties including anti-cancer and anti-inflammatory functions, avoidance of heart diseases, overweight, and diabetes. Hence, this paper deals with the characteristics of smart packaging films based on anthocyanins, as well as their application in various food industries.

Neuroblastoma is a cancer that occurs due to abnormal development of the sympathetic nervous system. The dysregulation of miR-9 and miR-222 plays a crucial role in neuroblastoma development. These microRNAs have a significant relationship with PTEN, caspase-9, and MMP14, which can potentially form the basis for the specific diagnosis and treatment of this disease. In our study, two neuroblastoma cell lines were divided into three groups based on whether they had been treated with miR-9, anti-miR-9, miR-222, or both. We evaluated various parameters in these groups, including migration (through a wound healing assay), apoptosis (using flow cytometry), and gene expression (through qRT-PCR). Additionally, we measured the expression levels of MMP14, miR-9, and miR-222 in plasma and CSF samples from neuroblastoma patients using ELISA and qRT-PCR. We found that patients with neuroblastoma had higher levels of MMP14 and miR-222 mRNA expression but lower levels of miR-9 mRNA expression. Furthermore, after treating the cell lines with anti-miR-9 and anti-miR-222, we observed increased levels of MMP14 expression, as well as PTEN and caspase-9. Additionally, the treatment with anti-miR-222 and anti-miR-9 led to an increase in the frequency of apoptosis and migration of cancer cells. Our research shows that the dysregulation of miR-9, miR-222, and MMP14 could be key indicators in the pathogenesis of neuroblastoma. We also found that up-regulation of miR-9 was associated with decreased disease severity, whereas up-regulation of miR-222 and MMP14 was linked to increased disease severity., Competing Interests: Compliance with Ethical Standards. Background: One of the challenges in lentiviral vector-based suicide gene therapy by toxin or apoptosis-inducing genes is death of packaging cells. Therefore, the process of production of these lentiviral particles would be stopped in this step. We proposed that insertion of a reverse promoter between R and U5 regions of 5' long terminal repeat (LTR) in transfer plasmid could be considered as a solution for this problem. But it is not known, whether the insertion of RΔU3 sequence between the promoter and target gene in proviral genome during the life-cycle of lentivirus may interfere whit gene expression in target cells., Materials and Methods: THE FOLLOWING WERE PERFORMED IN THIS STUDY: insertion of RΔU3 sequence in pEGFP-N1 plasmid, evaluation of the expression of eGFP gene after calcium phosphate co-precipitation transfection of pCMV-RΔU3-GFP construction in 293T cells, and quantitative assay of eGFP gene by flow cytometry technique., Results: Our results from flow cytometry technique analysis showed that there was no significant difference between the expression of eGFP gene in transfected cells with pEGFP-N1 and pCMV-RΔU3-GFP plasmids (P > 0.05)., Conclusion: In this step of our strategy, we demonstrated that modification of orientation and location of promoter may overcome some issues in lentiviral suicide gene therapy, especially when toxin or apoptosis-inducing genes are used.

The aim of this study was to compare the quality characteristics and mineral content of the fiber from male and female cashmere goats raised under different management systems. Male and female Raeini cashmere goats (<1.5 years of age, n = 48) were selected from flocks raised at a government breeding station or raised commercially under either rural or nomadic conditions. The staple length, cashmere fiber diameter, coefficient of variation for fiber diameter, percentage of cashmere in a fleece, percentage of guard hair in a fleece and cashmere tenacity averaged 4.6 ±0.1 cm, 18.0 ±0.1 μm, 20.9 ± 0.4%, 66.1 ± 1.5%, 33.8 ± 1.5% and 1.8 ± 0.2 gf/tex, respectively. The sulfur, copper and zinc content of the cashmere averaged 2.8 ± 0.1%, 0.00065 ± 0.00002% and 0.01276 ± 0.00025%, respectively. Rearing method significantly affected staple length, coefficient of variation of fiber diameter, cashmere tenacity and copper content. Males had a higher coefficient of variation of fiber diameter and cashmere tenacity than females (P < 0.05).

Resistance to a peanut-parasitic population of Meloidogyne javanica and an undescribed Meloidogyne sp. in peanut breeding lines selected for resistance to Meloidogyne javanica was examined in greenhouse tests. The interspecific hybrid TxAG-7 was resistant to reproduction of Meloidogyne javanica, M. javanica, and Meloidogyne sp. An Meloidogyne javanica-resistant selection from the second backcross (BC) of TxAG-7 to the susceptible cultivar Florunner also was resistant to M. javanica but appeared to be segregating for resistance to the Meloidogyne sp. When reproduction of M. javanica and Meloidogyne javanica were compared on five BC4F3 peanut breeding lines, each derived from Meloidogyne javanica-susceptible BC4F2 individuals, all five lines segregated for resistance to M. javanica, whereas four of the lines appeared to be susceptible to Meloidogyne javanica. These data indicate that several peanut lines selected for resistance to Meloidogyne javanica also contain genes for resistance to populations of M. javanica and the undescribed Meloidogyne sp. that are parasitic on peanut. Further, differences in segregation patterns suggest that resistance to each Meloidogyne sp. is conditioned by different genes.

The yield response of Florunner peanut to different initial population (Pi) densities of Meloidogyne arenaria, M. javanica, and an undescribed Meloidogyne species (isolate 93-13a) was determined in microplots in 1995 and 1996. Seven Pi's (0, 0.5, 1, 5, 10, 50, and 100 eggs and J2/500 cm(3) soil) were used for each Meloidogyne species in both years. The three species reproduced abundantly on Florunner in both years. In 1995, mean reproduction differed among the three species; mean Rf values were 10,253 for isolate 93-13, 4,256 for M. arenaria, and 513 for M. javanica. In 1996, the reproduction of M. arenaria (mean Rf = 7,820) and isolate 93-13a (mean Rf = 7,506) were similar, and both had greater reproduction on peanut than did M. javanica (mean Rf = 2,325). All three nematode species caused root and pod galling, and a positive relationship was observed between Pi and the percentage of pods galled. Meloidogyne arenaria caused a higher percentage of pod galling than did M. javanica or isolate 93-13a. A negative linear relationship between log (Pi + 1) and pod yield was observed for all three nematode species each year. The yield response slopes were similar except for that of M. javanica, which was less negative than that of isolate 93-13a in 1995, and less negative than that of M. arenaria and isolate 93-13a in 1996.
