Introduction: Triage in the interactive atmosphere of the emergency department (ED) has been described as complex and challenging. The influence of nurses’ belief systems on triage decision making has not to the authors’ knowledge been addressed. This study attempted to gain an understanding of the ED nurses’ culture of practice with respect to contextual factors that affect triage decision making. Methods: A focused micro-ethnographic study based on Spradley’s developmental research sequence (DRS) has been conducted in the emergency department of the Mashhad University hospital, Iran, from February 2014 to February 2015. Data were collected during 300 hours of participant observations that were accompanied by formal and informal interviews, then analyzed based on Spradley’s DRS. Results: Nine study participants were formally interviewed. From these interviews, eight core beliefs emerged related to nurses’ culture of practice: namely, triage decision making is arbitrary; the facility/locale of the emergency medicine department is the pivotal contextual factor affecting decision making; not every nurse can be assigned to triage; each patient assumes the existence of an emergency condition; the on-duty physician must be known; triage decision making must be considered plausible by colleagues; “they” tell us something, we should do something else; and triage guidelines are not practical. Conclusion: Contextual factors have a strong tendency to guide triage decision making and violate the principle of patient acuity (that is, that patients with the most acute medical conditions should be prioritized). In response, triage guidelines need to integrate the priorities of patients, nurses, physicians, and administrators.

During the last two decades, less than 10% of countries have had the necessary capacities for high participation in international research activities. These countries have occupied central positions in the inter-country research collaboration network. This study, using the theoretical framework of the social system, tried to understand which subsystems were involved in achieving the central position. Based on the theoretical model of the research, an empirical study was conducted using fuzzy-set Qualitative Comparative Analysis (fsQCA) to identify the political, economic, social, and cultural factors that simultaneously led to the central position in the inter-country research collaboration network from 2002 to 2017. Data was analyzed through two novel methodological strategies: fuzzy-set ideal type analysis and strategy of multiple periods, single fsQCA. The results indicated the existence of twenty types of central countries and four causal configurations leading to the central position. This study concludes that in liberal democratic states, at least two political and economic subsystems exist. In non-liberal democratic states, at least three political, economic, and social subsystems must intervene to achieve the central position. By identifying causal configurations leading to the central position through the social system framework and strategies of tracking configurations over time with fsQCA, this study contributes to the literature on international research collaboration. It also offered suggestions to improve the semi-peripheral countries' position.

Objective: Two aims of the present study are: First, identifying the most widely used indicators that have been used so far to measure the factors affecting scientific collaboration between countries; and the second, determining the most important indicators in terms of influencing international scientific collaboration.Methodology: Due to the accumulation of experimental research in the field of determining factors of international scientific collaboration, which include a multitude of predictive variables and are sometimes accompanied by contradictory results, an evidence-based systematic review was used. According to the PRISMA protocol and without considering the time limit, 20 studies were selected to review the findings. Studies were selected that were based on the level of macro analysis and statistical model. To achieve the first aim, the frequency of use of indicators in various studies was investigated, and to achieve the second aim, indicators with a dominant effect were identified based on the vote counting technique. Due to the heterogeneity of the selected studies (the difference in the test statistic used and the way predictor and control variables are measured), this technique was used.Findings: The most widely used indicators used by researchers are the geographical distance between the capitals of countries (in the physical dimension), common membership in intergovernmental organizations (in the political dimension), economic development, and economic size (in the economic dimension), social similarity (in the social dimension), the common official language (in the cultural dimension), and the number of articles (in the scientific and technological dimension). The results indicate that there is a lot of overlap between widely used indicators and indicators with a dominant effect. All widely used indicators also have a dominant effect. However, some indicators are classified in the group of indicators with a dominant effect despite having a lower degree of application. These indicators include the volume of trade relations (in the economic dimension), colonial relations (in the cultural dimension), specialization distance, and international student exchange (in the scientific and technological dimension). These indicators, based on the consensus of most of the evidence about their type of effect (positive or negative), are among the most important indicators affecting scientific collaboration between countries.Conclusion: According to the reviewed studies, the identified factors have an undeniable effect on scientific collaboration between countries. As a result, they should not be neglected in the design of national research systems. In addition, this research by enumerating the existing research gaps in this field states that achieving a more comprehensive understanding of the factors requires interdisciplinary studies by researchers in the fields of Knowledge and Information Science, Sociology, and Political Science. Finally, two suggestions can be made. First, the establishment of research areas based on the conclusion of scientific and technological agreements in neighboring areas to solve common problems of member countries; and second, the wider intervention of international organizations in the global flows of student exchange through the creation of international competitions to allocate awards, scholarships, and research grants to countries that have ideas to solve major and common global problems.

Although the Waqf institution has played an important role in the development process, the decline of its involvement in the development of Islamic societies is an issue that has been less socially analyzed. However, the new institutionalism approach in economic sociology, by providing a benefit-based definition of institutions and defining the mechanism of causal relationships between different levels of formal and informal constraints, considers actors in their actions as having limited rationality in the context shaped by networks, norms, cultural beliefs, and formal institutional arrangements. Because new institutionalism in economic sociology has provided a comprehensive theoretical framework for understanding economic behavior and the analysis of institutions, The purpose of the present study is to introduce new institutionalism in economic sociology as an analytical approach with a descriptive-analytical method and Based on this approach, analyze the factors affecting the role of waqf as a social economic institution in the Development Process of Islamic Iran. The results indicate that the waqf institutional environment, management of endowments trustees and Trustee organizations of waqf, intentions, motives and social norms among dedicator, are the most important factors that have affected the waqf institution's developmental role in iran.

Background: The role of women and men is changing across the world, and women, including pregnant women, are adopting newer roles in traditional societies like Iran. This study aimed to explore the meaning of pregnant women's experiences regarding their social roles in the sociocultural context of Iran. Materials and Methods: This study was carried out using an ethnophenomenological approach. Participants included 16 pregnant women who attended health centers, hospitals, and private obstetric clinics in Mashhad, Iran, between 2016 and 2017 and were selected based on purposive sampling. In-depth semistructured interviews, vignette interviews, participant observations, and field notes were used to collect data. To analyze data, six-step van Manen's (1997) descriptive-interpretive phenomenological approach was used. Results: Through data analysis, the overarching theme of “selection, management, and adjustment of various roles to play social roles” was emerged. This was consisted of four themes: “Mother's perspective regarding out-of-home employment, incompatibility between pregnancy and social roles, mother's management strategies to play different roles, and husband's authority regarding mother's employment.” Conclusions: The consequence of reciprocal endeavors of pregnant women along with their husbands as well as their work environment expectations tends to selection, management, and adjustment of feminine roles. Since the employment of pregnant women leads to their more physical and psychological involvement, not only the problems of working women but also the expectations and rules of the workplaces as well as the requests of their husbands should be taken into account.

Introduction: In providing pregnancy services, particular attention is given to the mother and her infant and comparatively less consideration is paid to men’s role. This study aimed to explore how Iranian men are confronted with pregnancy from pregnant women’s point of view. Methods: This study was conducted, using an ethno-phenomenological approach. 25 Pregnant women were recruited via purposeful sampling from health centers, hospitals, and private obstetric clinics in Mashhad, Iran. In-depth semi-structured interviews (n=25), vignettes, (n=13) as well as observation were used for data collection. The data were organized with MAXQDA software version 10 and analyzed, using van Manen descriptive- interpretive phenomenological approach. Results: The main theme which emerged was: "adaptation, skillfulness and self-actualization of man in confrontation with pregnancy". This was derived from two themes: 1) "spouse's emotional engagement" subthemes spouse’s emotional confrontation with pregnancy occurrence, man's sentimentality following being an expectant father, husband`s confrontation with wife's motherhood, man's emotional excitement, seeing the symptoms of fetal survival, husband's gender orientation and 2)"Concentration, vigilance and active efforts of spouse during pregnancy" subthemes managing wife towards successful pregnancy, efforts to acquire paternal skills and pregnancy as an issue to expand spouse's mental horizons. Conclusion: Besides an overwhelming sense of emotion, men tend to be supportive in managing successful pregnancy. As an opportunity window pregnancy seems to develop thinking, vision and horizons of life among men and increases their responsibility. By promoting male participation in pregnancy, important steps could be taken to improve maternal and infant health using spouses` support approach
