Background: The prevalence of Postpartum Depression in India varies from 6.8-21.5%. About 5% women reported persistent PPD symptoms even three years after childbirth. PPD increases the suicide risk among mothers. It not only affects the psychological health but also physical health & quality of life of mother. Maternal PPD affects the mother child bonding and also the child growth & development. Objective: To assess the long-term effects of post-partum depression on the mothers and the children at 1 year-5 years. Methodology: We have done a Cohort study with 290 mother-child dyads in both rural and urban area of Khordha, Odisha. Mothers were screened using EPDS for PPD at 6wk to 6 months after delivery. The outcome for mothers and children were assessed at one year to five years after delivery. Chronic depression was assessed with EPDS, confirmed by psychiatric evaluation and suicidality of the mother with SBQ-R; child anthropometric outcomes with WHO growth charts and development with Bayley Scale of Infant and Toddler Neurodevelopment. Results: Among the 62 mothers screened positive for post-partum depression, 18 (29%) were found to have Chronic depression and a significant association was found between post-partum and chronic depression (OR=11.25, CI- 4.60- 27.69, p-value

This study examines the moderating effect of recovery speed for understanding the impact of co-recovery on the three dimensions of customer-brand engagement (CBE). Further, it investigates the subsequent effect of customer-brand engagement on electronic word-of-mouth (e-WoM). An experiment was designed to collect data from 240 food delivery app users in India to achieve this goal. The multivariate analysis of variance and hierarchical regression analysis supported the hypotheses under investigation. The results provide empirical evidence that co-recovery positively influences cognitive, affective, and behavioral dimensions of customer-brand engagement. Recovery speed significantly influences the relationship between co-recovery and the dimensions of customer-brand engagement. The study also found that affective engagement strongly predicted electronic word-of-mouth. The behavioral engagement was the weakest yet considered a significant predictor of electronic word-of-mouth. The study also offers valuable managerial insights for building a long-term customer engagement with the brand. When a delay is unavoidable, a firm can offer an alternative way (app-based gaming) to engage its customers. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Autopsy of infants can provide vital information about the cause of death and contributes to the detection of diagnostic errors, especially in a low- or middle-income country. To observe the clinicopathological agreement in neonatal deaths in neonatal intensive care units (NICU) and comment on the additional information retrieved by autopsy. A retrospective observational study was conducted in the NICU from January 2020 to December 2022. Neonatal deaths were analyzed, and clinical details and autopsy findings were collected. Both clinical and pathological diagnoses were classified according to the Goldman classification. Twenty-two newborn infants were enrolled. The mean gestational age was 33.5 (±4.38) weeks, and the median birth weight was 1510 (1005–2100) g. There was complete concordance between clinical and pathological diagnosis in 11 (50%) cases. Major diagnostic errors occurred in 41% of cases. Respiratory system disorders (lung infections, airway anomalies) accounted for six (54%) cases of missed diagnosis. Our study showed that the diagnosis was revised after autopsy in about one-third of cases, and newer findings were identified in one-fifth of cases. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Introduction: Acinar cystic transformation (ACT) of the pancreas is characterized by multiple cysts lined by dual ductal and acinar-type of epithelium. ACT is typically a disease of adulthood and has not been described in a neonate. Case report: Autopsy of this term 3-day old male demonstrated cystic transformation of the entire pancreas measuring 42 mm in its largest dimension. The main pancreatic duct was patent. The numerous variable-sized cysts were lined by both ductal (CK7-positive) and acinar (trypsin-positive) epithelium. Congenital hemochromatosis of the liver, complete proximal jejunal atresia, gangrene of the post-atretic jejunum, and subglottic stenosis were associated features. Based on the theory of co-creation and resource-based theory, this study examines the differential impact of varying levels of customer participation in service recovery (firm, customer, and joint) on recovery satisfaction, customer-brand engagement (CBE), and electronic-word of mouth (e-WoM). Besides, using social exchange theory, this study examines the mediating role of consumers' recovery satisfaction in the relationship between the types of service recovery and electronic word of mouth (e-WoM). The data to accomplish the research objectives was collected from 495 customers of interactive food delivery apps in India. The experimental design was used to collect the data. The multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA) and PROCESS macro techniques were used to test the hypotheses. The findings suggest that joint recovery results in better recovery evaluations such as CBE, recovery satisfaction, and e-WoM. Also, recovery satisfaction mediated the relationship between CBE and e-WoM. These findings provide empirical evidence for the linkages among the theory of co-creation, resource-based theory, and social exchange theory. The marketers of interactive food delivery apps may use these findings to ascertain which recovery type they should emphasize to improve recovery satisfaction. The Problem Although there have been a plethora of studies on the determinants of customer delight in marketing literature, less attention has been given to understand the role of employees’ work engagement and psychological capital (PsyCap) in satisfying and delighting customers. The objective of the present study is threefold—the first is to examine how engaged employees are positive and efficacious; the second is to investigate how engaged, positive, and efficacious employees delight patients specifically in the health care sector; and the third is to examine how the relationship between employees’ positive PsyCap and customer delight is mediated by beneficiary contact, which is the perception of employees about the meaningful impact of their efforts on their patients. The Solution Previous studies have shown that employees who are absorbed, dedicated, and immersed in their work are more confident and positive at their workplace. Engaged, positive, and confident employees not only keep themselves but also their customers happy and positive through their optimistic outlook and efficacious work behavior. Responses are collected from 200 employees and their 200 patients from different hospitals of India. Hierarchical regression analysis shows a significant and positive relationship between work engagement, PsyCap, and customer delight. Work engagement is found to predict PsyCap and customer delight. Beneficiary contact is found to mediate between the relationship of PsyCap and customer delight. The originality of the article lies in its interdisciplinary approach to understand how engaged and dedicated employees keep themselves and their patients positive and delighted. The Stakeholders This study is of relevance to human resource development (HRD) professionals, customer relationship managers of the health care sector, and also academicians belonging to the disciplines of marketing and human resource management. The findings of this study would help them understand how engaged employees lead to employees’ positive PsyCap and customer delight. Congenital ichthyosiform erythroderma is a rare and severe form of ichthyosis manifesting in the neonatal age group. We report a child with diffuse peeling of skin and erythroderma presenting on the 2nd day of birth. With aseptic nursing care along with emollients and oral acitretin, the child's quality of life improved remarkably, hence highlighting the point of early and judicious use of acitretin in reducing disease morbidity. Any patient from a tuberculosis (TB) endemic area such as India with classical clinical features of fever, weight loss and lymphadenopathy, making a diagnosis of Kikuchi's disease (KD) prior to waiting for the 6-week culture is not appropriate. KD or histiocytic necrotising lymphadenitis is a rare self-limiting cervical lymphadenitis, often a diagnosis of exclusion. One needs to exclude TB, sarcodosis, lymphoma and autoimmune diseases to make such a diagnosis. The patient here with classical clinical presentation of TB with lymph node biopsy mimicking KD (biopsy and immunohistochemistry) posed a big diagnostic dilemma. However, culture of the biopsied lymphatic tissue was confirmed to be mycobacterium TB after the 6th week of incubation. The patient was treated with antitubercular drugs initially, and later, steroid was added in view of his persistent symptoms and he responded. One should wait for the tissue culture report to confirm or exclude the diagnosis of TB. Exclusion should not be based only on laboratory criteria. We prospectively studied the effect of oral paracetamol in closing hemodynamically significant Patent ductus arteriosus in preterm infants (gestational age <32 weeks) where Ibuprofen was contraindicated. 29 of 40 neonates (72.5%) showed successful response while 11 (29.5%) failed to show any response. A letter to the editor is presented about a case of vasomotor instability in a preterm neonate that causes hypotension and acrocyanosis.

The article presents a case study of a 12-month-old female infant in India who was diagnosed with battered baby syndrome. The child presented with decreased oral acceptance and inconsolable crying. The infant's laboratory examinations showed that she had ingested pins. The parents admitted to abusing the infant, which led to the diagnosis of battered baby syndrome. Detection and intervention in cases of child abuse are discussed.
