انطباع _ دراسة لتقييم مدى توافق زيت نبات إكليل الجبل والفطر R.afficinalis و B. laterosporus مع يرقات دودة القطن الشوك E. زيادة أعداد المستعمرات البكتيرية حيث بلغت 18.26 و 30.43 خلية بكتيرية / مل بالمبيد للتركيز الموصى به وأقل من الموصى به 3.47 و 25.21 و 34.78 و 47.82 و 59.13 خلية بكتيرية / مل مع زيت الإكليل لتركيزات (1000 ، 2000 ، 3000 ، 4000 ، 5000) مجم / لتر تفاعل علاج البكتيريا فقط بتركيز 1.9 × 10مبيدات الآفات بتركيز 400 ملجم / لتر وزيت إكليل الجبل بتركيز 5000 ملجم / لتر أعطت أعلى معدلات وفيات بلغت 63.33 و 66.66 و 53.33٪ على التوالي بعد خمسة أيام من المعاملة ، تليها نفس التركيزات أعلاه. بمعدل وفيات 70.00 و 80.00 و 63.33٪ على التوالي بعد سبعة أيام من العلاج بينما لم يسجل معدل وفيات لعلاج البكتريا وزيت إكليل الجبل بتركيز 1.9 × 10 6و 1000 مجم / لتر بعد يوم واحد. أعطى تفاعل مخاليط تركيز المبيد مع البكتيريا عند 400 مجم / لتر والمبيد بالزيت 400 مجم / لتر وزيت إكليل الجبل مع البكتيريا عند 5000 مجم / لتر أعلى معدلات موت 90.00 و 93.33 و 76.66 ٪ ، على التوالي ، يليها تركيز 400 مجم / لتر من المبيد مع البكتيريا. و 400 ملجم / لتر بالزيت و 5000 ملجم / لتر للزيت بالبكتيريا والتي بلغت 70.00 و 73.33 و 66.66٪ على التوالي ، بينما كانت أقل نسبة نفوق بتركيزات 200 ملجم / لتر للمبيد بالبكتيريا والزيت. و 1000 ملجم / لتر للمستخلص مع البكتيريا حيث بلغت 6.66 و 10.00 و 0.00٪ على التوالي. أظهرت نتائج المطابقة أن زيت ديزاين وإكليل الجبل ، R.B. laterosporus . ، بينما زادت نتائج معدلات وفيات الحشرات مع مدة التعرض خلال سبعة أيام لكل من العلاجات وخليطها ، وهذا يعطي كفاءة جيدة للمبيد والزيوت مع البكتيريا تجاه حشرة E.insulana التي تدخل في الحديث اتجاهات الإدارة المتكاملة للآفات.

Abstract Purpose To investigate the health-related factors and analyze the expression of epigenetic related genes and inflammatory genes in metabolic syndrome Trigger Finger (TF) and smoker TF. Methods Samples from patients’ fingers with symptomatic TF were collected. There were seven groups: healthy control group, carpal tunnel syndrome (as a control for gene expression analysis), TF, diabetic TF, hypertensive TF, dyslipidemic TF and smoker TF. The expression levels of epigenetic related genes and inflammatory genes in metabolic syndrome TF and smoker TF were evaluated by the reverse transcription–polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) technique. The Perceived Stress Scale (PSS), Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) questionnaires, disability of the arm, shoulder and hand (DASH) and numeric pain rating scale were given to the participants to fill out. The performance of a packed bed reactor for CO2 conversion to methanol was investigated. Because of the exothermic reaction, temperature and concentration gradients happen along the reactor. A 2D packed-bed reactor model was applied for numerical investigations, coupled with detailed reaction kinetics and transport phenomena. The effect of feed inlet pressure and temperature on CO2 conversion and temperature profiles along the reactor was evaluated. The results showed that firstly increase in the temperature in the reactor because of the presence of exothermic reactions and then slight decrease in the temperature at top section of the reactor. Pressure was decrease from 55 bar to around 54 bar along the reactor. It was found that the CO2 conversion at outlet of reactor was 18.18 % at T = 475 K and it was increased to 23 % at temperature of 498 K and 555 K. The CO2 conversion was reached its maximum at short distance from the reactor entrance at T = 555 K. Also, the outlet temperature of gas mixture was increased from 522.53 K to 534.56 K with increasing feed inlet pressure from 35 bar to 55 bar. The CO2 conversion was 18.12 %, 20.77 %, and 22.96 % at pressures equal to 35, 45, and 55 bar respectively.

Objectives To compare the efficacy of a traditional cock-up splint, which supports the wrist only, with a modified splint that supports the wrist and the metacarpophalangeal (MCP) joints of the medial four digits in the treatment of carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS).Design An assessor-blind randomised controlled trial.Setting Hospital-based hand therapy clinics.Participants Fifty-nine adults with mild-to-moderate CTS were randomly assigned to wear a wrist splint (control group) or an MCP splint (intervention group) for 6 weeks.Outcome measures The standardised outcome measures used included grip and pinch strength, the static two-point discrimination test, Phalen’s manoeuvre test, Tinel’s sign and the Boston CTS Questionnaire.Results Both groups improved significantly from splint use in some clinical features. The wrist splint and the MCP splint groups had significant improvements in lateral pinch strength (p=0.032 and p=0.002, respectively), two-point discrimination of the thumb (p=0.003 and p=0.041, respectively), two-point discrimination of the index (p=0.035 and p=0.023, respectively) and the Phalen’s manoeuvre symptoms (p=0.025 and p=0.002, respectively). The MCP splint group had additional improvements over the wrist splint group in tip pinch (p=0.012) and Palmar pinch (p=0.011) strength.Conclusion Splinting is a practical and effective intervention option for improving the symptoms of CTS. A wrist splint that incorporates the MCP joints is more effective than the traditional wrist-only splint, with long-lasting improvements that remained consistent after 6 months of the splint intervention. Using the more effective MCP splint may consequently reduce disability, facilitate return to work and lower the associated costs.Trial registration number ISRCTN13189602.

The research procedures included designing (SAQ) exercises that were applied to the experimental group, as well as conducting a number of exploratory experiments to determine the used exercises as well as the appropriate ( intensities , repetitions and rest times) for these exercises, after that the physical and skill pre-tests were implemented, then training style exercises were carried out. Then the training method exercises were implemented, the experimental group implemented (SAQ) style exercises, while the control group implemented the curriculum prepared by the team coach. The implementation of the experiment took (9) weeks during three intermediate cycles with (9) small cycles and with a wave movement of (2: 1) in each intermediate session and with (3) training units per week. After that, the researchers conducted the skills tests with the same procedures and steps that were followed in the pre-tests, The researchers used the following statistical methods: (the arithmetic mean, standard deviation, skew coefficient, coefficient of variation, percentage, (T) test for related samples .T-test for independent samples). The data were statistically handled using the (SPSS) program to obtain (the arithmetic mean, standard deviation, coefficient of variation, skew coefficient , T-test for related samples and T-test for independent samples ). Objective An experiment was conducted to investigate the continuous and intermittent lighting program effects on terms of the productive performance, carcass traits, blood biochemical parameters, innate immune and oxidative status in broiler chicks. Methods A total of 600 Cobb-500 one day old chicks were randomly allocated into six equal groups (100 chicks per treated group with five replicates of 20 chicks each) based on lighting program; 22 continuous lighting (22 C), 11 h lighting+1 darkness twice daily (11 L/1 D), 20 h continuous lighting (20 C), 5 h lighting+1 darkness four times daily (5 L/1 D), 18 h continuous lighting (18 C) and the final group subjected for 3 h lighting+1 h darkness six times daily (3 L/1 D). The experimental period lasted 42 days. Results Compared with those under the intermittent light program, broiler chicks exposed to continuous lighting for 22 h had significant improvement in live body weight and carcass (dressing and breast percentage) measured traits. Though reducing lighting hours significantly reduced feed intake and feed conversion ratio values. Different lighting programs revealed no significant effect on all blood biochemical parameters. Oxidative stress and innate immunity parameters significantly enhance by reducing lighting hours (3L/1D). Conclusion The findings suggest that reducing lighting hours up to 3L/1D would be more useful in enhancing feed efficiency, innate immunity, and oxidative status compared with continuous lighting programs on broilers.

A typical case of a 7-years-old Kurdish male shepherd dog was referred with two weeks history of lethargy, restlessness, anorexia and severe emaciation. Physical examination of the dog revealed generalized lymphadenopathy, strong pale mucous membrane, systolic murmur of the heart, vomiting, bloody diarrhea and fever. Hematological abnormalities indicated moderate to marked leukocytosis characterized by 89% neutrophilia with a left shift to progranulocytes and 1.6% presumptive myeloid blasts, marked thrombocytopenia, marked non-regenerative normocytic hypochromic anemia and dysplasia in platelets and neutrophils. The histopathological examination revealed excessive infiltration with neoplastic myeloid cells that invaded all the internal organs. Bone marrow analysis revealed marked hypercellularity with a predominance of immature cells, marked myeloid 6.2%, dysplasia of neutrophils lineage and rare erythroid progenitors and numerous megakaryocytes. Enlargement of superficial and visceral lymph nodes and internal body organs, especially liver and spleen were observed in the autopsy after animal euthanasia. Our results confirmed that this dog was suffering from chronic myeloid leukemia. Statistically, there was a significant difference (P < 0.05) between the mean value of myeloid blasts in peripheral blood and bone marrow. But, no significant difference (P > 0.05) was found between the mean values of leukocytic ratio in peripheral circulation and bone marrow. This is the first case report study that has been recorded in a native shepherd dog in a rural area around Duhok province/ Iraq.

Abstract Background The evidence on the effects of chronic tobacco smoking on neuropsychological functions is conflicting. The literature remains limited by inconsistent accounting for potentially confounding biomedical and psychiatric conditions. This study aimed to assess the neuropsychological functions of adult chronic tobacco smokers in comparison to group-matched non-smokers. Method The study included 73 smokers and 84 group-matched non-smokers. The data was collected during the year 2019. After an initial interview to collect demographics and smoking profile, the subjects undertook neuropsychological assessments that targeted a wide range of cognitive domains. Results The performance of smokers was poorer on almost all neuropsychological domains, namely selective attention (p ≤ .001, p = .044), alternating attention (p = .002) working memory (p ≤ .001), Short-term memory (p = .006 and .003), Long-term memory (p ≤ .001), processing accuracy (p ≤ .001), and executive function (p = .011 and .026). Smokers were intact on processing speed. Smoking accumulation and lower age onset of regular smoking were correlated with lower neuropsychological function. Conclusion Our findings add to the growing body of evidence suggesting that chronic tobacco smoking impacts cognition negatively.

Background: During the pandemic, Corona virus forced many people, especially students, to spend more time than before on the computer and smartphone to study and communicate. The poor posture of the body may have worse effect on its body parts , most of which is the cervical spine (forward head posture). Objective: To assess the incidence of neck pain and the associated factors among undergraduate medical students related to position during E learning Subjects and Methods: Cross-sectional study was conducted among medical students in three Iraqi universities during 2021. The sample size was 152. Online questionnaire by Google forms sampling method were used to collect the data which was analysed using SPSS 25. Results: The percentage of students who suffered cervical pain was (80.3%) of the 152 who participated in this study and the majority of those who suffered pain were complained from increase pain during the pandemic (72.1%). This study also showed the students recumbent on the floor 67 (44.1%) more than those who use the table and chair 62 (40.8%) during E-learning. The percentage of students who use the phone for more than 4 hours were (73.7%). Conclusion: there is a relationship between poor posture and cervical pain during E-learning in the pandemic. Most of students were suffering from neck pain with greatest percentage were in those who student in recumbent on the floor and when using chair and table.

Immigration is the responsible for transmitting disease from one country to another. In this research, we investigate the global proprieties of an SIR model with nonlocal dispersal and immigration. The main purpose is to show that immigration will eliminate the threshold dynamics known for SIR epidemic models, and leads to the persistence of the disease independently of the parameters. Based on Lipschitz continuity of parameters, it has been shown that the strictly positive equilibrium state exists and it is unique. Using the infected density equilibrium as the integral kernel of a Lyapunov function, we also proved the global attractiveness of the endemic equilibrium state, the mathematical findings are checked numerically.

The current research sought to assess the effects of paulownia leaves extract (PLE) on performance, blood hematological, antioxidant activity, and immunological response of broiler chicken. In total, two hundred 1-day-old male Cobb500 chicks were allocated randomly into four equal treatments with 5 replicates. The first treatment served as a control (CNT) and was fed the basal diet only, while the other treated treatments were fed on the basal diet supplemented with 0.1, 0.3, and 0.5 g/kg diet of PLE, respectively. The performance results showed significant increments (P < 0.05) in live body weight (LBW), weight gain (WG), and European production efficiency factors (EPEIs) (linearly; p < 0.001) in cooperated with increasing PLE levels in broiler diets. At the same time, feed conversion ratio (FCR) and livability percentages were numerically enhanced under the effects of PLE supplementation. Moreover, a notable increase (P < 0.05 or 0.01) in oxidative remarks activity (GSH, glutathione; SOD, super oxide-dismutase and CAT, catalase) and elevated levels of immunoglobulin (IgM, immunoglobulin M and IgG, immunoglobulin G) were noted (P < 0.05) for treatments fed with PLE in a dose-dependent manner. Also, a dramatic linear increase was observed in mRNA expression of IGF-1, GHR, IL-1β, and IL-10 genes of broiler chickens. This study concluded that enriched broiler feeds with 0.5 g/kg PLE might be a beneficial strategy to promote broiler health and production.

Background: The clinical examination is one of the best suitable methods for diagnosis of low backache. Backache is one disease that the signs, clinical examination finding, and the results on imaging modalities not always related. The straight leg raising (SLR) and slump tests, can be used for diagnosis of lumber disc herniation. Objectives: To compare the result of the slump test and SLR test in the diagnosis of lumber disc herniation. Subjects and Methods: A prospective comparative study conducts on 280 patients in Al-Kindy teaching and private clinics complaints of backache, aging between 18-70 years old with acute or recurrent backache, sciatica pain, or low back and sciatica pain for last 12 weeks, while patients with spinal surgery, sacroiliac joints pain, cervical dysfunction and hip and knee pathology, and chronic illness were excluded. MRI of the lumbar region was done and clinically examine first by SLR test then Slump test on the next days by separated author. All the record collected patient’s data are interpreted with the MRI finding by the third doctor. Results: The Slump test is significant than the SLR in the patients with disc herniation at L4-L5 and (L4-5 &L5S1) 93.1% versus 70%, while for L5S1 level no significant in both tests. Leg pain present in 74.1 %, low back and leg pain in 21.5%, and only 4.4% present with low back only. Conclusion: The Slump test is more sensitive than the SLR test in diagnosis of lumber disc herniation.

In this paper, with the use of newly defined class up and down log–convex fuzzy-number valued mappings, we offer a few new and original mappings defined by applying some mild restrictions over the definition of up and down log–convex fuzzy-number valued mapping. With the use of these mappings, we are able to develop partners of Fejér-type inequalities for up and down log–convexity, which improve upon certain previously established findings. The discussion also includes these mappings’ characteristics. Moreover, some nontrivial examples are also provided to prove the validation of our main results.

Banning antibiotic growth promoters has negatively impacted poultry production and sustainability, which led to exploring efficient alternatives such as probiotics, probiotics, and synbiotics. Effect of in ovo injection of Bacillus subtilis, raffinose, and their synbiotics on growth performance, cecal microbial population and volatile fatty acid concentration, ileal histomorphology, and ileal gene expression was investigated in broilers (Gallus gallus) raised for 21 days. On 300 h of incubation, a total of 1,500 embryonated eggs were equally allotted into 10 groups. The first was non-injected (NC) and the remaining in ovo injected with sterile distilled water (PC), B. subtilis 4 × 105 and 4 × 106 CFU (BS1 and BS2), Raffinose 2 and 3 mg (R1 and R2), B. subtilis 4 × 105 CFU + raffinose 2 mg (BS1R1), B. subtilis 4 × 105 CFU + raffinose 3 mg (BS1R2), B. subtilis 4 × 106 CFU + raffinose 2 mg (BS2R1), and B. subtilis 4 × 106 CFU + raffinose 3 mg (BS2R2). At hatch, 60 chicks from each group were randomly chosen, divided into groups of 6 replicates (10 birds/replicate), and fed with a corn–soybean-based diet. In ovo inoculation of B. subtilis and raffinose alone or combinations significantly improved body weight, feed intake, and feed conversion ratio of 21-day-old broilers compared to NC. Cecal concentrations of butyric, pentanoic, propionic, and isobutyric acids were significantly elevated in R1, R2, BS2R1, and BS2R2, whereas isovaleric and acetic acids were significantly increased in R1 and BS2R1 compared to NC. Cecal microbial population was significantly altered in treated groups. Ileal villus height was increased (p < 0.001) in BS1, R2, and BS2R2 compared to NC. The mRNA expression of mucin-2 was upregulated (p < 0.05) in synbiotic groups except for BS1R1. Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) expression was increased (p < 0.05) in BS2, R1, BS1R1, and BS1R2 compared to NC. SGLT-1 expression was upregulated (p < 0.05) in all treated birds except those of R1 group compared to NC. The mRNA expressions of interleukin (IL)-2 and toll-like receptor (TLR)-4 were downregulated (p < 0.05) in BS2 and R1 for IL-2 and BS1R1 and BS2R2 for TLR-4. It was concluded that in ovo B. subtilis, raffinose, and synbiotics positively affected growth performance, cecal microbiota, gut health, immune responses, and thus the sustainability of production in 21-day-old broilers.

PurposeThe purpose of the study was to examine the level of generalized anxiety disorder among occupational and physical therapists during treatment sessions and its association with somatic symptoms during the COVID-19 pandemic.MethodsA descriptive cross-sectional design was used in this study. Data were collected during the month of April 2021, and the study included occupational and physical therapists who practiced during COVID-19 from March 2020 to March 2021. The generalized anxiety disorder scale (GAD-7) and a modified patient health questionnaire (mPHQ-15) were used to examine self-reported anxiety and somatic symptoms among the study participants. The independent t-test was used to determine differences between groups based on GAD-7 and mPHQ-15 results. Spearman's correlation test and chi-squared test were used to find the relationships between different variables such as anxiety and somatic symptoms.ResultsThe study (n = 98 participants) included 56 occupational and 42 physical therapists. An 84% response rate was achieved. GAD-7 final score was μ = 9.21 ± 5.63 with 27% reporting no anxiety, 14% mild, 38% moderate, and 21% severe. Independent t-tests on GAD-7 scores showed significant differences between therapist specializations [t(96) = −2.256; p = 0.026] and between therapists residing with or without their parents [t(96) = −2.536; p = 0.013]. The mPHQ-15 final score was μ = 9.52 ± 5.54 with 13% reporting no symptoms (n = 13), 20% mild (n = 20), 38% moderate (n = 37), and 29% severe (n = 28). The present study is related to solve the nonlinear dynamics of a smoke model using artificial neural networks (ANNs) under the optimization procedures of global heuristic and local search scheme. The genetic algorithm (GA) and sequential quadratic programming (SQP), i.e., GA-SQP used as global–local search approaches. The smoke nonlinear medical model depends upon four categories named as potential smokers, temporary smokers, smokers and permanent smokers. For solving these categories of the smoke system, an error based objective function is designed using these nonlinear equations and the initial conditions of the model. The performance through optimization of the objective function is testified using the ANNs and the hybrid combination of the GA-SQP for solving the nonlinear dynamics of the smoke system. To check the perfection of the proposed stochastic approach, the obtained results through the hybrid of GA-SQP are compared with the Adams scheme. Moreover, the designed scheme through statistical performances using different operators authenticates the reliability and stability to solve the nonlinear smoke model.

Vancomycin-resistant Enterococci(VRE) were common among Enterococcus. faecalis and Enterococcus faecium. Infection with LRVRE or TRLRVRE pushan hazardous alert for hard to heal illness. Twenty eight Enterococcus spp. isolates were recovered from children diarrhea after their inoculation on m-EI chromogenic agar. Antibiotics susceptibility and phenotypic detection of antibiotics resistance were performed according to CLSI 2016. The results revealed 92.86% resistance to rifampin, 85.71% to erythromycin. VRE were 46.42%, TRE were 25% and LRE were 35.71% while co-existed resistance for Vancomycin/Teicoplanin/Linezolid(TRLRVRE) were detected 25% in. concern antibiotics resistant patterns, the MDR compile (85.7%) while XDR compile (10.7%) and there is no PDR among Enterococcus. spp. isolates were PDR. The presentstudy conclude that VanA and VanB phenotypes were common among MDR and XDR and although there is no using of linezolid but the emergence of TRLRVRE isolates were stated.

Additionally, we create Hermite–Hadamard–Fejér (H-H-Fejér)-type inequalities for preinvex functions of the left and right interval-valued type under some mild conditions. Moreover, some exceptional new and classical cases are also obtained. Some useful examples are also presented to prove the validity of the results.

In this paper, we present a cancer system in a continuous state as well as some numerical results. We present discretization methods, e.g., the Euler method, the Taylor series expansion method, and the Runge–Kutta method, and apply them to the cancer system. We studied the stability of the fixed points in the discrete cancer system using the new version of Marotto’s theorem at a fixed point; we prove that the discrete cancer system is chaotic. Finally, we present numerical simulations, e.g., Lyapunov exponents and bifurcations diagrams.

The current study focuses on the natural-convection flow of nanofluids with boundary layer over a circular cylinder of uniform thermal wall with varying magnetic force from 0 to 1.5, radiative effects from 0 to 1, heat generation effects from 0 to 1, and Joule heating effects from 0 to 1. The problem is represented in the form of partial differential equations. The dimensional form of the equations is converted into a dimensionless form with the help of suitable stream functions. Then, the resultant equations are further reduced into the system of first-ordered differential equations, and the Keller box scheme is applied to obtain a solution numerically with the help of MATLAB code. The numerical solutions for Nusselt number, skin friction coefficient, Sherwood number, velocity profile, temperature profile, and concentration profile are represented with the help of graphs. Locking of the knee is a one of the commonest orthopedic outpatient presentation. This patient usually need magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) when there is suspected lesion in the soft tissue clinically. Meniscal tears is the first differential diagnosis when accompany with painful knee. (1, 2) Giant cell tumor (GCT) is benign a localized nodular tenosynovitis often occur in the tendon sheath , Mostly involve the hand tendons in middle age group between 30 and 50 years old , female affect more than male.(3,4) The WHO defines two well-known kinds of giant cell tumor: (1) pigmented villonodular synovitis ( generalized type), which mainly involve the joints of the lower limb and (2) giant cell tumor of the tendon sheath ( localized type) , which usually involve the figures and small joints rarely the large one. (5, 6) This case presented as unusual appearance of GCT arising from the suprapatellar synovial pouch. Informed consent obtains from the patient.

Background: Painful elbow joint over the lateral epicondyle especially with resisted wrist extension are common signs of lateral epicondyle tendinopathy, also called tennis elbow. Objective: To evaluate the clinical outcome of local platelet rich plasma (PRP) injection in patients with chronic tennis elbow compared with a steroid (Depomedrol 40 mg) injection. Methods: A total of 88 patients with chronic tennis elbow were treated at Al-Kindy Teaching Hospital and private clinics. All patients had chronic pain for about 24 weeks or more and had failed first line treatment. The patients dividing into two groups, Group A injected with PRP (n = 44), and group B injected with depomedrol 40 mg (n = 44). A good clinical result was demarcated as 25% or more progress on the visual analog scale for pain. All patients followed for 6 months in both group for clinical successful result. Results: At three months (n = 44), in group A reported a perfection of 58.2% in their pain scores while 49.3% in the group B (N = 44). At 6 months follow up, the group A informed a perfection of 74.3% in their pain scores while 58.4 % in the group B. The local elbow tenderness recording at three months was 37.4% in the group A, while in the group B was 48.4%. At six months, 16.1% versus 30.2% recounted major elbow tenderness (P = .009) in groups (A and B) respectively. The clinical improvement rates at three months revealed no changes between both groups while it showed more significant clinically changes in group A ( 87.1%) than in group B (70.1 %) with P value = 0.008 after six months follow up. Conclusion: No important changes were found at 3 months in both groups, but at 6months, clinical significant perfections in patients treated with PRP group (group A)

The chicken gut is the habitat to trillions of microorganisms that affect physiological functions and immune status through metabolic activities and host interaction. Gut microbiota research previously focused on inflammation; however, it is now clear that these microbial communities play an essential role in maintaining normal homeostatic conditions by regulating the immune system. In addition, the microbiota helps reduce and prevent pathogen colonization of the gut via the mechanism of competitive exclusion and the synthesis of bactericidal molecules. Under commercial conditions, newly hatched chicks have access to feed after 36–72 h of hatching due to the hatch window and routine hatchery practices. This delay adversely affects the potential inoculation of the healthy microbiota and impairs the development and maturation of muscle, the immune system, and the gastrointestinal tract (GIT). Modulating the gut microbiota has been proposed as a potential strategy for improving host health and productivity and avoiding undesirable effects on gut health and the immune system. Using early-life programming via in ovo stimulation with probiotics and prebiotics, it may be possible to avoid selected metabolic disorders, poor immunity, and pathogen resistance, which the broiler industry now faces due to commercial hatching and selection pressures imposed by an increasingly demanding market.

The aim of this research is to support the geophysical field survey results in a manner of vertical electrical sounding (VES) by the results of the engineering examination represented by the Standard Penetration Test (SPT) of some wells drilled in one selected sites near Baghdad province, namely (Al-Musayyib site), for the purpose of evaluating the geometric position of the foundation layer and thus the possibility of the application of electrical method in such Engineering investigations. Measurements of 25 VES's distributed in five parallel traverses were carried out by using Schlumberger array in which this results were correlated with SPT results and available geological information. The main outcomes in the study area revealed five continuous and homogeneous subsurface layers in which the fourth layer of very dense brown weakly cemented sand with little amount of gravel having SPT values of more than 50 represents the foundation where engineering construction can be set on it. Finally, encouraging results about the possibility of the application of electrical method in this situation were obtained.

Background: Calcaneus is a spongy cancellous bone with rich blood supply , its fracture heals more rapidly providing no occurrence of infection and soft tissue injury around ,no gross malposition of fragments. The associated pain leads to a major impairment in life quality. The aim of treatment for calcaneal fractures is the decrease of pain and rebuilding of walking ability for patients with normal foot shape and the ability to wear normal foot wear. To reduce complications, a minimally invasive technique for the treatment of displaced intra-articular fractures of the calcaneus was preferred to use. The purpose of this study was to determine whether the closed reduction and percutaneous K. wire fixation of displaced intra-articular calcaneal fractures results in better functional outcome at a minimum one year follow up after the injury compared with those after non-operative management. Methods: One hundred and eleven displaced closed intra-articular calcaneal fracture in 105 patients (six were bilateral) were seen at the orthopedic department of Al-Kindy teaching hospital and Shaih Zaid hospital , only 45 cases included in this study and prospectively evaluated with an average follow-up time of minimum of one year (1–3years follow-up). For radiographic evaluation, plain radiographs and CT scans were obtained. The Maryland Foot Score was used for clinical estimate. Sanders type II, III and IV fractures were diagnosed. Results: The incidence of subtalar arthritis was correlated with the severity of fracture. Böhler’s angle was restored in 70.1% (47 of 67) of the cases. The majority (77.7%) of patients were content with their treatment result. The rate of significant complications was 6.5%. Discussion: Percutaneous K. wire fixation of displaced intra-articular calcaneal fractures presented minimally invasive technique which showed comparable results with a low rate of serious complications and is a viable alternative for the treatment of intra-articular, dislocated calcaneal fractures. Conclusions: the functional results after K. wires fixation of displaced intra-articular calcaneal fractures were better than those after non-operative care.

Background: Plantar heel pain is a clinical syndrome characterized by pain and tenderness beneath the heel which is typically worse in the morning and improves after the first few steps in the day. It is a common and frequently disabling clinical complaint that may be caused by a broad spectrum of osseous or soft tissue disorders. Objective: To evaluate the effectiveness of an operation of multiple drilling of calcaneum for resistant plantar heel pain syndrome. Methods: During the period from November 2012 to August 2016, 17 patients (17heels) were enrolled in a cohort clinical study at the orthopedic unit in AL-Sheikh Zayed and Al-Wassity Hospitals. Result: Drilling of the calcaneum is a simple procedure achieving 70.6% cure in resistant ases with few complications provided good patient selection was done. Conclusion: Abnormalities in the intraosseous pressure within the calcaneum are a possible cause of plantar heel pain in some patients who failed to respond to conservative treatment

Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a metabolic disease characterized by hyperglycaemia resulting from defects in insulin secretion, insulin action, or both, and occurs in almost all populations of the world a variable prevalence. In the present study we evaluated the effect of glibenclamide, and tomato lycopene extract on blood glucose, enzymatic antioxidants, glycated hemoglobin(HbA1c), and malondialdehyde(MDA) in 50 alloxan induced diabetic rabbits. The results showed a significant(P < 0.001) increase in the level of glucose, HbA1c, MDAin alloxan diabetic rabbits in comparison to the control rabbits. A Significant decrease in the level of serum glucose, HbA1c,and MDAin alloxan diabetic rabbits when received glibenclamide daily as single dose 0.5 mg/kg body weight for 20 weeks, and2and 4 mg/kg of tomato lycopene extract for 20 weeks respectively. Background: Fractures of patella constitute 1% of all fractures. Various techniques have been described for internal fixation of patella fractures. Superiority of one technique over the other has long been debated. Objective: We reviewed a series of seventy patients with transverse or comminuted fractures of patella treated with cerclage and tension band wiring technique to assess if it had any advantages over k. wires and tension band wiring technique. Type of the study: Retrospective study. Methods; Seventy patients with displaced patella fracture, with a mean age of 47 years (range 13-75) were divided into two groups :group A 36 patients were treated with cerclage and tension bands technique ,and group B 34 patients were fixed by 2 K. wires and tension bands technique. Clinical outcome was assessed using the system of Bostman score. Range of motion and evidence of radiological union were assessed at regular follow-ups. Results; All patients in group A gained Excellent result and good result, while only one patient gained poor result in group B . One patient (2.8%) developed superficial infection in group A and three patients( 8.8% ) developed superficial infection in group B. All fractures had united at the end of 10 weeks. Twenty two patients (31.4%) underwent a second surgery for wire removal; 5 cases in group A ( 13.9 % ) two of them due to implant related complications and 15 ( 44.1%) patients for group B mainly due to pain and interference with daily activity. Malunion or non-union was not noted in any of the cases. . Conclusion; The advantages of the cerclage and tension bands technique for fixation of displaced patella fracture are early mobilization, elimination of k-wire related complications, and ease of use in comminuted fracture pattern as well and a lower reoperation rates as compared to other method of fixation by 2 K. wires and tension bands technique. We strongly recommend its use in cases of displaced comminuted transverse fractures of patella .

Al-Najaf is one of the important cities in Iraq due to its high spiritual and religious reputation that attracts Moslems from different parts of the world to visit the holy shrine of Al-Imam Ali (peace be upon him). The city of Al-Najaf and particularly Bahr Al-Najaf area, is expecting a number of large scale construction activities, among these development activities are the planning of a new tourist city called Sayf Thulfiqar city. Sayf Thulfiqar city is planned to be the largest tourist city in Iraq. The area of the proposed tourist city is about 63 hectares, consists of an artificial lake 1000m long surrounded by twelve towers and a number of small dwellings. This lake is considered as a big challenge in planning, construction, and sustainability. The challenging points primarily are the sources of water required to fill the lake, infiltration characteristics of the soil at site, weather conditions, etc.The present paper focuses on investigating the rate of water infiltration through the base and side walls of a pit with dimensions 3m by 3m and 0.5m in depth excavated and filled with water in the location of artificial lake. The process of filling was repeated several times with full observation and continuous field measurements. The results revealed some useful characteristics and correlations regarding the infiltration of water of artificial lake in Bahr Al-Najaf.

The shear failure of reinforced concrete beams considered as a very complex fracture phenomenon for which a purely mathematical approach is not possible at present. However, detailed modeling of the fracture mechanism is not necessary for establishing the general form of the size effect. This paper reports the details of the finite element analysis using "ANSYS" program for eight large-size reinforced concrete beams. The beams were analyzed without web reinforcements to evaluate the nominal shear strength provided by the concrete. The main variables included in the study are the a/d, concrete compressive strength , and the type (conventional or high-strength steel) and amount of the longitudinal steel reinforcement. The finite element models are developed using a smeared cracking approach for reinforced concrete. The concrete is modeled using "SOLID65"eight node brick element, which is capable of simulating the cracking and crushing behavior of brittle materials. The steel reinforcement has been modeled discreetly using "LINK8" 3D spar element and it has two nodes. A comparison between the finite element analysis results, namely, loads, deflections and cracking behavior and the available experimental results were made and good agreement was obtained. Results show that the use of high strength steel as a longitudinal reinforcement improves the shear strength and post cracking tensile stiffness of the concrete

When dealing with education for minorities as a major field of educational discipline we mean to refer the term to the condition of being inferior or subordinate. Most of the time students who are dis advantaged by differences of culture, language and religion are considered to be the theme of minority education problems. Such students are usually distanced from the sources of power and status in the societies they live in. Also in discussing minority education for a certain group such as Muslim minorities we cannot ignore its connections to other minority group problems. The forms of minority education activities differ from one country to another. in fact, they may differ within one particular country. In the meantime, when searching for the way minorities are educated we see different atmospheres for such minorities because of political or religious behavioral activities. We can also recognize that cultural. linguistic, psychological and sociological difficulties are closely connected despite the fact that minority groups are growing in number and position in some cases in the world. In this article, the researcher has tried to define the terms “minority" and "minority education“ from the standpoint of different cases he presented with some concentration on Muslim minorities, and the way they are treated. Meanwhile the researcher also tried to compare and analyse the ability of the paradigms he presented to assimilate minorities within its context from the point view of human rights and equality which are major components of democracy. The reason for this is that he wanted to give some insights to those interested in solving or helping to solve Muslim minority problems, and applying such problems to discussion and research.

Background: Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia (APL) is commonly associated with disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC) and early correction of coagulopathy is of vital importance. All Trans-Retinoic Acid (ATRA) is considered to be the drug of choice in the treatment of APL. Objective: The work was conducted to 1- Identify patients with APL who show laboratory evidence of DIC. 2- Study the serial changes in haemostatic parameters in APL patients treated with ATRA and to compare their results with those treated with conventional chemotherapy without ATRA. Subjective and methods: In this prospective study (from October 2003 to October 2005), 44 newly diagnosed, untreated APL patients were included. ATRA plus chemotherapy – treated patients were 24 while 17 patients were treated with chemotherapy other than ATRA. For each patient, a full clinical evaluation was done and hematological investigations were accomplished at time of diagnosis and repeated on day 3 and 7 of therapy. Diagnosis of DIC was based on finding a positive D- dimer test with hypofibrinogenaemia with or without pathologically prolonged (PT and/or APTT). Results: In 44 newly diagnosed, untreated APL patients studied, the age range between 6-81 years with a median of 27 years. Male to female ratio was 1.3:1. Before treatment all patients had anemia, thrombocytopenia, and elevated level of D – dimer. DIC was present in all patients at time of diagnosis. All parameters that showed abnormal level at time of diagnosis had returned to normality within one week in ATRA treated group, indicating that DIC has essentially resolved. By contrast, those parameters remained abnormal even on day 7 in the chemotherapy treated group. Indicating that DIC was on going. Conclusion: ATRA therapy in APL patients is associated with rapid improvement of coagulopathy therefore , it is justified to be used from day one of the treatment.
