Anyone knowledgeable about Qur'anic Arabic words in general and the Qurʾānic Arabic words of l-faḍli الْفَضْ لِ) in particular, can easily and appropriately deduce that the Holy Qur'an denotes meaning that cannot go along with any level of fulfillment through only one translation. Thus, this paper aimed at identifying the loss and gain in the rendering of the words of l-faḍli الْفَِضْ لِ in Qurʾānic Arabic through the examination of three translations of the Holy Qur'ān by Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall (1930), Muhammad Muhsin Khan and Muhammad Taqi-ud-Din al-Hilali (1996), and Muhammad Abdel Haleem (2004). A qualitative descriptive paradigm was employed coupled with Baker's typology of equivalence between Arabic and English. The study showed that in the context of the loss and gain in the translation of the Qurʾānic Arabic l-faḍliِ اِلْفَضْ لِ into English, the aforementioned translators employed various translation strategies such as balanced translation, explication, free translation, and literal translation. The study found that the Holy Qurʾān in general and the Qurʾānic Arabic l-faḍli الْفَضْ لِ in particular inevitably demand to be rendered in a historical and enlightening language environment and linguistic context for efficient communication and understanding. Regardless of its distinction for touring and tourism communication, the subject of machine translation has not been dealt with regarding tourism investigation. This study aims to bridge this gap in knowledge by exploring machine translation (MT) technology in the development of tourism translation from the perspectives of translators and translation experts in Saudi Arabia. To attain the three objectives of the study, the researcher applied the quantitative approach. For data gathering, a 12-item opinion poll was disseminated among a random sample group that consisted of 80 translators and translation experts who were selected at random from several Saudi universities, top translation services companies, and tourism organizations during the current academic year 1445/AH/2024 CE. The findings of this study discovered that many translators and translation experts had positive perspectives on utilizing machine translation (MT) technology in the development of tourism translation around the world today in general and Saudi Arabia in particular. Moreover, the perspectives of these translators and translation experts on the difficulties and intricacy confronted in applying machine translation (MT) technology in the tourism translation industry were highly positive. Over half of the participants (51.42%) perceived that machine translation (MT) can help overcome obstacles encountered by translators in the field of tourism. Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) is considered one of the most significant models for presenting teachers’ capabilities and proficiencies in effectively using technology to teach. This study was conducted to explore the perceptions of both novice and experienced instructors of translation from selected Saudi universities toward the use of technological pedagogical content knowledge in teaching professional development. To achieve the three objectives of the study, the two authors employed the descriptive survey method because of its suitability. For gathering data, a 20-item questionnaire was distributed to a purposive sample containing 100 novice and experienced male and female instructors of translation who were randomly selected from some several universities in Saudi Arabia during the first semester of 2023. The findings of this study revealed very many that of the selected translation instructors had positive attitudes toward the use of technological applications for teaching English as a foreign language (EFL). Moreover, many of the selected translation instructors showed that they had an average level of knowledge regarding TPACK. The findings also revealed that the selected instructors’ perceptions toward TPACK were considerable. Furthermore, the results of the study also proved that educational background in digital technologies plays a significant role in the professional development of novice and experienced translation instructors at Saudi universities. The implications of the study’s results were discussed, and recommendations were suggested for providing all universities in Saudi Arabia with educational software, e-learning platform, teaching software and novice and experienced instructors of translation with new digital skills session, cybersecurity workshop and innovative digital skills training. The current research paper aims to critically study translating Ayahs Aleudul ... in the Quranic contexts from an interdisciplinary jurisprudential linguistic perspective. The findings of the study showed that Aleudul ... in the Qur'anic context is a phenomenon that reoccurs in many ayahs. The researcher selected one of the many: the Quranic Arabic Aleudul ... .in Ayah 33 of Surat al-Ahzab to explain the phenomenon and discuss it in detail. The study also showed that the Quranic Arabic Aleudul ... came in the Qur'anic context to reveal the importance of the meaning to be explained in the context to which it is assigned. The foremost of the problems encountered by translators of the Holy Quran was the dearth of most exegesis relating to this recurring phenomenon in the Holy Qur'an. The substantial lexical and cultural challenges facing the translators of the Holy Qur’ān in rendering the Qurʾānic Arabic words for glad tidings known as al-bush'rā (البُشْرَى) into English result in the gain or loss of meaning in translation - an issue that cannot be avoided. This study, conducted from an Islamic professional ethical perspective, examined that gain and loss through three well-known translations of the Holy Qur’ān which were sourced from The Qur’ānic Arabic Corpus, namely Abdelhaleem (2004), Al-Hilali and Khan (1996) and Pickthall (1930). A qualitative descriptive design was adopted together with Hervey and Higgins’s (1992) concept of loss of meaning in translation which is a critical aspect of any translation. The study found that, in terms of the loss and gain in the translation of the Qurʾānic Arabic al-bush'rā (البُشْرَى) into English, the aforementioned translators utilized different translation strategies such as reduction and omission. The study concludes that any loss has a significantly negative impact on the reader’s understanding and interpretation of the Holy Qur’ān in general and the words found in the Qurʾānic Arabic al-bush'rā (البُشْرَى) in particular. Professional ethics in teaching and training has commonly a unique honor between faculty members and students. This study was conducted to explore King Khalid University EFL staff members' perceptions of professional ethics from a broad Islamic ethical and educational perspective. To achieve the objectives of the study the two researchers adopted the descriptive survey method because of its suitability. For the data collection, a 15-item questionnaire was distributed to a purposive sample comprising 100 male and female EFL staff members who were randomly selected from all colleges of King Khalid University during semester three 2023 (A.D.) The findings of this study revealed that both male and female participants had a greater number of positive responses regarding the professional ethics components of teaching and training. There are many elements associated with the professional ethics of male and female EFL staff because of the significant influence of university settings in general, and of King Khalid University in particular. These elements are related to the future of university students and to teachers’ responsibility to ensure that students are educated appropriately so that they can contribute to making societies more civilized, refined and educated. The results of the present study indicate that the following are the most important elements of professional ethics in teaching and training: educating students, maintaining high standards of morals and work ethics, and organizing a relevant and appropriate incentive scheme to encourage students to behave appropriately in terms of academic performance as well as conduct. Rendering the Arabic Qur'anic collocations into English has always been a burdensome and daunting job. It is ever more problematic than the rendition of any genre. The recent research is a caveat-lector attempt that seeks specifically to investigate the problematicity of translating some selected Qur'anic collocations into English that is from linguistic, stylistic, and cultural perspectives. The findings of the study show some of the selected translations flop to transfer the connotative meaning of Qur'anic collocations scrupulously, and hence they have weak connotations. On the other hand, some renderings succeed in conveying the implicative meaning of Arabic Qur'anic collocations, and consequently, they have strong connotations. The results also reveal that the most generally put to use translation method or strategy for translating the embedded meaning of Arabic Qur'anic collocations was that of verbatim translation or literal translation, and they also demonstrate that this resulted in a great loss of the intentional meaning, distorting the perfect translation of Qur'anic collocations that is from linguistic, stylistic, and cultural perspectives. Technology can be employed as a means of boosting FEL student interaction. Due to the universal use of computers and the internet in academic institutions, EFL teachers are motivated to implement this technology in their classes to facilitate language teaching and the learning English language process. This study purports to identify EFL students' perceptions of the utilization of technology tools in learning English at King Khalid University. This research adopts the descriptive analysis technique. Moreover, the theoretical framework of the study was an opinion poll prepared by the two researchers to get information and was applied to fifty-six selected EFL students to get their perceptions of the utilization of technology tools in learning English at King Khalid University. The results demonstrate that most King Khalid University EFL male and female students had positive responses to employing technology tools in learning English. The study findings have pedagogical implications and some recommendations for strategies and instructions for further investigations and facilitating the utilization of technology in teaching and learning at primary and secondary levels.
