Background: Pregnancy is a physiological action that ends with pain, fear, anxiety and fear of death for the mothers. Delivery is a multi-dimensional process associated with physical, emotional, social, physiological, cultural and psychological dimensions. Objectives: To identify the preferred mode of delivery in Iraq primiparous women and factors make them chose this mode of delivery. Methodology: a descriptive/analytical cross-sectional study performed among 150 Iraqi primiparous women who attended the gynecology clinic in Baghdad teaching hospital/medical city from July to November 2019 the information regarding socio-demographical data and asking the women about the causes of this choice. Results: Total of 150 primiparous women was enrolled in the study. Majority of them preferred vaginal delivery (68.7%) while women who preferred cesarean section were (31.3%). high rate of vaginal delivery preference was seen in women because of faster recovery, easy baby bonding, fear from cesarean section and short hospital stay, while those who preferred cesarean section thought that they can avoid labor pain and fear on baby's life. Conclusion: Majority of primiparous women interviewed in our research preferred the vaginal delivery, while the remaining women preferred the cesarean section due to lack of knowledge or fear from vaginal delivery. Background: Nipah belongs to the genus Henipavirus and the Paramyxoviridae family. It is an endemic most commonly found at South Asia and has first emerged in Malaysia in 1998. Bats are found to be the main reservoir for this virus, causing disease in both humans and animals. The last outbreak has occurred in May 2018 in Kerala. It is characterized by high pathogenicity and fatality rates which varies from 40% to 70% depending on the severity of the disease and on the availability of adequate healthcare facilities. Currently, there are no antiviral drugs available for NiV disease and the treatment is just supportive. Clinical presentations for this virus range from asymptomatic infection to fatal encephalitis.Objective: This study is aimed at predicting an effective epitope-based vaccine against glycoprotein G of Nipah henipavirus, using immunoinformatics approaches.Methods and Materials: Glycoprotein G of the Nipah virus sequence was retrieved from NCBI. Different prediction tools were used to analyze the epitopes, namely, BepiPred-2.0: Sequential B Cell Epitope Predictor for B cell and T cell MHC classes II and I. Then, the proposed peptides were docked using Autodock 4.0 software program. Results and Conclusions. The two peptides TVYHCSAVY and FLIDRINWI have showed a very strong binding affinity to MHC class I and MHC class II alleles. Furthermore, considering the conservancy, the affinity, and the population coverage, the peptide FLIDRINWIT is highly suitable to be utilized to formulate a new vaccine against glycoprotein G of Nipah henipavirus. Background: Doxorubicin (DOX) is an antitumor anthracycline used to treat a variety of malignancies; however, its clinical use is associated with noticeable hepatotoxicity. Therefore, the current study was designed to delineate if biosynthesized SeNPs with turmeric extract (Tur-SeNPs) could alleviate DOX-induced hepatic adverse effects., Methods: Mice were orally post-treated with Tur extract, Tur-SeNPs, or N-acetyl cysteine after the intraperitoneal injection of DOX., Results: Our findings have unveiled a remarkable liver attenuating effect in DOX-injected mice post-treated with Tur-SeNPs. High serum levels of ALT, AST, ALP, and total bilirubin induced by DOX were significantly decreased by Tur-SeNPs therapy. Furthermore, Tur-SeNPs counteracted DOX-caused hepatic oxidative stress, indicated by decreased MDA and NO levels along with elevated levels of SOD, CAT, GPx, GR, GSH, and mRNA expression levels of Nrf-2. Noteworthily, decreased hepatic IL-1β, TNF-α, and NF-κB p65 levels in addition to downregulated iNOS gene expression in Tur-SeNPs-treated mice have indicated their potent antiinflammatory impact. Post-treatment with Tur-SeNPs also mitigated the hepatic apoptosis evoked by DOX injection.
