In this publication, we reported an efficient MOF-based catalytic system for the synthesis of thiopyran and oxospiro-indolinethiopyran derivatives. For the first time, magnetic NH2.MIL-101(Fe)/ED was synthesized through anchoring FeCl3 on CoFe2O4 magnetic nanoparticles surface and then 2-aminoterphthalic acid was used to form MOF structure. In the final step, metal centers were modified with ethylenediamine (ED). Different techniques such as Fourier transmission infrared spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, Field emission scanning electron microscopy, Transmission electron microscopy, Brunauer–Emmett–Teller analysis, and Thermogravimetric analysis were used to characterize the catalyst structure. Also using X-ray crystallography, the structure of the final product was determined. Nanomagnetic NH2.MIL-101(Fe)/ED gave us a satisfactory answer, affording the corresponding products with high to excellent yields (up to 93% yield). It seems that among the other available procedures, this catalytic system provided higher final product yields which result from the superior activity of this synthesized catalyst. Herein, an efficient and sustainable one-pot, four-component access to rhodanine-oxindole derivatives is achieved by a reaction between primary amines, carbon disulfide, ethyl chloroacetate, and cyano-substituted alkenyl oxindoles. The reaction was conducted without any harsh conditions as well as exhausting workup in polyethylene glycol (PEG) as a green solvent at room temperature and delivered rhodanine-oxindole products in high yield. This publication is the first easy protocol to be reported for the rapid construction of new rhodanine-oxindole derivatives at room temperature without harsh conditions and via multicomponent reaction. An efficient catalyst-free one-pot three-component reaction was developed for the synthesis of a new family of N- and S-containing spirocyclic compounds. Various derivatives of spirobenzimidazolidine containing an indole scaffold were synthesized for the first time in a modestly toxic solvent and under mild reaction conditions. A convenient one-pot multi-component reaction of aromatic aldehydes, 1,3-dicarbonyl compounds, amine and nitromethane in the presence of 10 mol% ZnO nanoparticles for the synthesis of highly substituted pyrroles is described. The products were obtained in moderate to good yields via a one-pot tandem reaction. 4-hydroxycoumarin 2a and 4-hydroxy-6-methyl-pyran-2-one 2b were applied in a one-pot reaction with Baylis-Hillrnan adduct acetates 1 to form novel 3-benzyl-pyrano [3, 2-c] pyran-2, 5-diones 3 in high yields (70-85%). The synthesized framework is available in many biologically active moieties. The reaction was carried out under different conditions to achieve optimum conditions.
