This research aims at examining how an agritourism cooperative and its activities promote endogenous development using local human, natural and technological resources in a sustainable way with other local production activities. Technology allows the agritourism cooperative to effectively use local resources and simultaneously to increase its competitiveness in marketing of products. Sports activities and sporting events are of major importance for the development of the tourist product of a tourist destination as well as for the wider development of this place. This paper presents the results of empirical research through a specially designed questionnaire in the context of the doctoral dissertation entitled "The contribution of sport to sustainable regional development". Respondents' answers are compared before and after the COVID-19 pandemic. SPSS program was used for statistical analysis as well as extracting conclusions and correlations. The purpose of the research is to study the behavior of tourists and whether they are satisfied and to what extent by the sporting services during their travels or not. Also, the purpose of the research is to investigate if sport and sports tourism contributes to sustainable tourism development and to what extent. Questions are therefore answered as to whether there is interest in sporting activity during tourism, and if so to what extent. Also, what kind of sporting activity is the one that attracts the most tourism to an area, as well as whether tourists would be willing to pay extra money to have sports events or activities at their disposal. How motivating are sports and sporting events to visit a place? What percentage of time do sports activities take up compared to other basic activities during the tourist's trip?. The research shows that there are no significant differences in the behaviors of tourists before and after the pandemic. A person's involvement with sports activities during tourism does not show a significant correlation with the involvement or not in his daily life. Also, sporting events and activities in general are a big part of the tourist activity as it is also found that constitutes an important element for visiting a destination. It can be safely concluded that tourism and sports are nowadays interrelated concepts that affect each other's results to a large extent, having a two-way relationship. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Religious tourism not only addresses the satisfaction of human religious and spiritual needs, but is also related to a range of reasons, such as recreation, leisure, landscape patterns, cultural or educational reasons. The aim of this study was to investigate the profile of 502 Greek tourists visiting religious sites on the region of West Thessaly, Greece, and their motivation as well. According to the results, the respondents are in line with the model of the short visit religious tourists travelling in organised groups. Using exploratory factor analysis, the findings revealed that the religious sites of the region attracted visitors who seek to fulfill different kinds of needs; religious and nature-seeking motivations seem to be significant factors for visiting the surveyed region. This finding suggests that it would be worthwhile for destination managers to pay more attention to tourist attractions, such as environment and religious atmosphere, in order to continue to enhance experiences and attract repeated tourists. Finally, motivational factors and activities identified in the research show that collaboration between the stakeholders, such as the Church, local authorities and tourist sector, is necessary. A safe and healthy working environment is vital for overall sustainability, due to the fact that it affects opportunities of economic and social development. However, according to the International Labour Organization (ILO), despite the international commitment to Occupational Health and Safety (OSH) via the 2030's Agenda Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), work-related accidents are still far too common. Work-related mortality accounts for 5% of all deaths worldwide; a toll which has increased dramatically due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Yet, in the context of COVID-19, new demands on the labour market, such as teleworking, adequate protective measures, and proper use of personal protective equipment when physical presence cannot be avoided, are necessitating new approaches to ensure health and safety. Arguably, education can be viewed as a cross-cutting strategy in advance of a culture of safety for future generations, through strengthening skills and broadening knowledge. Indeed, even though education cannot be considered a panacea, related to SDG 4, which seeks to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all, it can be considered a critical component to deal with OSH issues using a preventive, rather than a reactive, approach. Given this fact, European Agency for Safety and Health at Work (EU-OSHA) has stressed the prevention approach through mainstreaming OSH in education at all levels, and in all fields of vocational and academic training. Aware of the potential of universities to provide graduates the broad-based knowledge to produce labour-market skills including OSH, the aim of this study is to contribute to the discussion on mainstreaming OSH into Greek university education, using Harokopio University (HUA) as a case study. For this purpose, a web-based survey was conducted to address HUA's students, faculty members, and staff OSH knowledge, risks awareness, and attitudes, as well as their perceptions, opinions, and beliefs about the role of OSH for academia. A statistical analysis depicted respondents' high level of willingness to contribute to the promotion of OSH, while additional evidence suggests a considerable commitment of the respondents to participate in HUA's OSH-related training and education.
