However, how cells survive during prolonged mitotic arrest is not well understood. We show here that survival during mitotic arrest is affected by the special energetic requirements of mitotic cells. Prolonged mitotic arrest results in mitophagy-dependent loss of mitochondria, accompanied by reduced ATP levels and the activation of AMPK. Oxidative respiration is replaced by glycolysis owing to AMPK-dependent phosphorylation of PFKFB3 and increased production of this protein as a consequence of mitotic-specific translational activation of its mRNA. Induction of autophagy or inhibition of AMPK or PFKFB3 results in enhanced cell death in mitosis and improves the anti-tumoral efficiency of microtubule poisons in breast cancer cells. This article explores the sex differences in the treatment of arterial hypertension, focusing on the influence of sex hormones on the effectiveness and side effects of antihypertensive drugs. It notes that thiazide diuretics are more effective in women but may cause more adverse effects. The article also discusses the higher rates of treatment and control of arterial hypertension in women compared to men, particularly in Latin America and the Caribbean. However, older women have lower control rates, and the reasons for these differences are not fully understood. Abstract

El quiste neuroentérico es una lesión benigna poco frecuente, de típica ubicación espinal. Su presentación intracranial es rara y más aún su presentación supratentorial. Se presenta el caso de un paciente masculino de 53 años, que en el estudio por cefalea se diagnostica una lesión quistica, que inicialmente se maneja con observación y que a 5 años de seguimiento presenta crecimiento, indicándose manejo quirúrgico, lográndose una resección total de la lesión, cuya biopsia es compatible con un quiste neuroentérico. Seguimiento por 8 años, sin recidiva. Se discute esta entidad como parte del diagnostico diferencial de otras lesiones supratentoriales y de la importancia de la resección total que determina los buenos resultados. Palabras clave: Quiste neuroentérico, quiste enterogénico, tumor quistico. The neurenteric cyst is a rare benign lesion injury, with a spinal frecuent location. Intracranial presentation is rare and even more supratentorial. We related the case of a male patient of 53 years wirh a history of headache, that the study show a cystic lesion, initially managed with observation and that 5 years later shows growth, indicating the surgical management, achieving total resection. The biopsy was consistent with a neurenteric cyst. 38. Caracterización de los Trabajadores Sexuales Masculinos en España (2020-2021)

Abstract

The objective of this article is to improve knowledge of the reality of men who have sex with men in Spain, during the Covid-19 pandemic. The subject is treated from a quantitative approach, through the collection of data from several webs, and it is compared with the information obtained in the interviews with some sex workers who talk about their experience, motivations and vital projects. When comparing the results obtained through these two approaches, a great similarity is found in aspects such as the relationship with the client, economic motivation and the boys’ place of origin, mainly Latin American. The independence of the workers confirms that, in general, they are not subject to trafficking of human beings. The pandemic has led to online activities, through videos and chat. It is concluded that there is a double stigmatization of this profession, on the one hand, due to the sex work itself, and on the other, due to the homophobic behaviours that some clients who identify themselves as heterosexuals even present, derived from a traditional masculinity within a heteronormative culture. It is also concluded that search for affection is one of the main motivations to request these services, which is why most boys offer their availability to kiss and caress their clients, El objetivo de este artículo es mejorar el conocimiento de la realidad de los hombres que ejercen el trabajo sexual con otros hombres en España, durante la pandemia por Covid-19. Para ello, se aborda el tema desde una aproximación cuantitativa, a través de la recopilación de datos de determinadas páginas webs, y se compara con los relatos obtenidos en las entrevistas a varios trabajadores sexuales que narran su experiencia, motivaciones y proyectos vitales. Al comparar los resultados obtenidos mediante estos dos planteamientos, se encuentra una gran similitud en aspectos tales como la relación con el cliente, la motivación económica y el origen de los profesionales, principalmente latinoamericano. Se constata la independencia de los trabajadores, confirmándose que, en general, no están sujetos a mafias de trata de seres humanos. La pandemia ha propiciado el trabajo online, mediante videos y chat. Se llega a la conclusión de que existe una doble estigmatización de esta profesión, por una parte, debido al trabajo sexual en sí, y por otra, por los comportamientos homófobos que incluso presentan algunos clientes que se identifican como heterosexuales, derivados de una masculinidad tradicional, desde una concepción heteronormativa. También se concluye que la búsqueda de afecto por parte del cliente es una de las principales motivaciones para acudir a estos servicios, por lo que la mayoría de chicos ofrecen su disponibilidad a besar y acariciar a sus clientes

Abstract

Los sistemas actuales de autenticación biométrica para un grupo de individuos suelen requerir de un reentrenamiento completo cuando se registran nuevos usuarios, causando la indisponibilidad del sistema durante todo ese tiempo. En el intento de solventar dicho problema se propone un sistema de autenticación que permite autenticar a un usuario registrado con su huella dactilar sin afectar a la disponibilidad. Este sistema es gestionado por un algoritmo que estima y gestiona un cierto número necesario de redes neuronales que funcionan de forma paralela de modo que el proceso de alta de nuevos usuarios, además de ser rápido, no afecta en ningún caso al funcionamiento del sistema ni al resto de usuarios.
