Abstract Background Precise diagnosis and rapid treatment for acute complex intracranial hemorrhage (ICH) are crucial. The neurosurgical hybrid operating platform integrates traditional open neurosurgery operating room functionalities with endovascular therapy capabilities and is developing in the neurosurgical practice. However, its effect on the emergent complicated neurovascular cases needs pilot exploration. Methods In this prospective study, a total of 103 cases of both spontaneous and non-spontaneous ICH were consecutively recruited between June 2019 and June 2023. Demographic data, including age, gender distribution, and types of hemorrhage, were collected. Surgical interventions were tailored based on DSA, including spontaneous and non-spontaneous hemorrhages. Functional outcomes were assessed using the modified Rankin Scale (mRS) preoperatively and postoperatively. Results Over the study period from June 2019 to June 2023, a cohort of 103 ICH cases underwent emergency hybrid surgical treatment utilizing the E-HOPE platform. Among these cases, 88 were classified as spontaneous ICH, while 15 were non-spontaneous. The mean age at diagnosis for the entire cohort was 54.0 ± 3.7 years, with a slight predominance of male patients. Spontaneous ICH encompassed a diverse spectrum of etiologies, including arteriovenous malformations, aneurysms, arteriovenous fistulas, cavernous malformations, moyamoya disease, and cryptogenic hemorrhages. Surgical interventions were tailored to address the specific pathology. Notably, improvements in mRS scores were observed in a majority of cases, with some patients experiencing stabilization or deterioration postoperatively. Non-spontaneous cases (n = 15) were primarily iatrogenic (n = 13) due to tumors adjacent to the internal carotid artery, necessitating stent graft deployment. Surgical approaches, including stent graft deployment and middle meningeal artery embolization, were effective in managing these cases. Postoperative functional outcomes varied depending on the nature of the hemorrhage, with a subset of patients demonstrating improvement in mRS scores while others showed no significant change. Conclusions Emergency hybrid surgical treatment utilizing the E-HOPE platform offers promising outcomes for ICH patients. Tailored surgical approaches result in favorable postoperative functional outcomes, highlighting the importance of a multidisciplinary approach in managing these complex cases.

Gout is a prevalent form of inflammatory arthritis that occurs due to high levels of uric acid in the blood leading to the formation of urate crystals in and around the joints, particularly affecting the elderly. Recent research has provided evidence of distinct differences in the gut microbiota of patients with gout and hyperuricemia compared to healthy individuals. However, the link between gut microbiota and age-related gout remained underexplored. Our study found that gut microbiota plays a crucial role in determining susceptibility to age-related gout. Specifically, we observed that age-related gut microbiota regulated the activation of the NLRP3 inflammasome pathway and modulated uric acid metabolism. More scrutiny highlighted the positive impact of ‘younger’ microbiota on the gut microbiota structure of old or aged mice, enhancing butanoate metabolism and butyric acid content. Experimentation with butyrate supplementation indicated that butyric acid exerts a dual effect, inhibiting inflammation in acute gout and reducing serum uric acid levels. These insights emphasize the potential of gut microbiome rejuvenation in mitigating senile gout, unraveling the intricate dynamics between microbiota, aging, and gout. It potentially serves as a therapeutic target for senile gout-related conditions.

With the advancement of consumer-grade RGB-D cameras, obtaining depth information for indoor 3D spaces has become increasingly accessible. This paper systematically reviews 3D reconstruction algorithms for indoor scenes using these cameras, serving as a reference for future research. We cover reconstruction processes and optimization algorithms for both static and dynamic scenes. Additionally, we discuss commonly used datasets, evaluation metrics, and the performance of various reconstruction algorithms. Findings indicate that the balance between reconstruction quality and speed in static scene reconstruction, as well as deformation, occlusion, and fast motion of objects in dynamic scenes are currently major concerns. Deep learning and Neural Radiance Fields (NeRF) are poised to provide new perspectives and methods to address these challenges.

Through the cleaning and filtering of real data from driving studies, a traffic violation dataset was constructed in order to determine the relationship between driver factors and the occurrence of traffic violations. Driver factors were analyzed using the indicator significance method and a multidimensional indicator set for predicting driver traffic violations was created. On this basis, we propose a hierarchical network-based method for predicting driver traffic violations. First, time sequences data preprocessing is performed to the multidimensional input data and a framework is presented for analyzing traffic violation data using the convolutional neural network(CNN) and long short term memory network (LSTM). CNN is used to obtain the time sequences of factors related to traffic violations and LSTM is adopted to acquire the temporal characteristics of these sequences, thus completing the initial calibration of the relationship between driver factors and the occurrence of traffic violations. Finally, the types of driver traffic violations are predicted using an improved attention network that adds two plug-and-play modules, including spatio-temporal interaction and deep convolutional feature extraction, which accomplishes the self-learning recalibration function of the indicator weights for calculating the probability of the occurrence of a certain traffic violation in the future period. On the traffic violation dataset, the proposed method was evaluated, and it increases prediction accuracy when compared to non-hierarchical methods and existing joint methods, thus contributing to the synergy of smart connected vehicle systems.

Abstract In this paper, a structured light vision measurement method using a scanning laser line and a positioning laser line is proposed. The novel method enables the scanning laser plane to slide along a slide rail while maintaining intersection with the positioning laser plane, eliminating the need to determine the scanning direction and moving step. During the measurement process, the laser plane equations need to be recalibrated for each new position, so a real-time calibration method is given. Initially, the geometric barycenter method is employed to detect the subpixel coordinates of the light stripe intersection point. Subsequently, these coordinates are projected into the camera coordinate system using the initial equations of the positioning laser plane. Finally, leveraging the normal information of the initial equation of the scanning laser plane and the three-dimensional coordinates of the light stripe intersection point, the real-time calibration of the scanning laser plane equations can be accomplished. The proposed method enables the three-dimensional reconstruction of objects, and its accuracy is verified through measurements on gauge blocks. Experimental results demonstrate that this method achieves precise and stable three-dimensional reconstruction of object surface shape.

IntroductionHyperuricemia is widespread in humans and birds which is a necessary physiological factor leading to gout. Studies have shown an inextricable relationship between gut microbiota and hyperuricemia. This study explored the association between intestinal flora and hyperuricemia in Goslings.Methods and resultsThe hyperuricemia model was established in gosling by a high protein diet (HPD). 16S rDNA sequencing showed that the cecal microbiota differed significantly between the HPD and control groups (fed with the normal protein). The abundance of Firmicutes was higher in the HPD group, while the Bacteroidetes were lower than in controls. To investigate the role of intestinal flora in hyperuricemia, the cecum microbiotas from the HPD group and the control group were transplanted to the newly born goslings by gavage. The serum uric acid levels of the goslings that transplanted the cecal microbiota of the HPD group were significantly higher than the goslings that transplanted the cecal microbiota of the controls. Furthermore, the transplantation of cecal microbiota also affects the production and excretion of uric acid in goslings. Then we identify the gut bacterium Bacteroides xylanisolvens as an effective anti-hyperuricemia in the Goslings. B. xylanisolvens reduces serum uric acid concentrations in hyperuricemia in the Goslings' model, and it can up-regulation ABCG2 mRNA expression in the kidney and down-regulation XDH mRNA expression in the liver.DiscussionThe intestinal flora acts as a novel target for the therapeutic approach to hyperuricemia and gout, suggest Bacteroides xylanisolvens is a possible route to therapy for hyperuricemia and gout in goslings.

Abstract Due to the fact that ballastless tracks in high-speed railways are not only subjected to repeated train–track dynamic interaction loads, but also suffer from complex environmental loads, the fundamental understanding of mechanical performance of ballastless tracks under sophisticated service conditions is an increasingly demanding and challenging issue in high-speed railway networks. This work aims to reveal the effect of train–track interaction and environment loads on the mechanical characteristic variation of ballastless tracks in high-speed railways, particularly focusing on the typical interface damage evolution between track layers. To this end, a finite element model of a double-block ballastless track involving the cohesive zone model for the track interface is first established to analyze the mechanical properties of the track interface under the loading–unloading processes of the negative temperature gradient load (TGL) followed by the same cycle of the positive TGL. Subsequently, the effect of wheel–rail longitudinal interactions on the nonlinear dynamic characteristics of the track interface is investigated by using a vehicle-slab track vertical-longitudinal coupled dynamics model. Finally, the influence of dynamic water pressure induced by vehicle dynamic load on the mechanical characteristics and damage evolution of the track interface is elucidated using a fluid–solid coupling method. Results show that the loading history of the positive and negative TGLs has a great impact on the nonlinear development and distribution of the track interface stress and damage; the interface damage could be induced by the wheel–rail longitudinal vibrations at a high vehicle running speed owing to the dynamic amplification effect caused by short wave irregularities; the vehicle dynamic load could produce considerable water pressure that presents nonlinear spatial–temporal characteristics at the track interface, which would lead to the interface failure under a certain condition due to the coupled dynamic effect of vehicle load and water pressure.

Aim: It remains a challenge in surgical treatments of brain arteriovenous malformations (AVMs) in Spetzler-Martin Grade (SMG) IV and V to achieve both optimal neurological outcomes and complete obliteration. The authors reported a series of patients with AVMs in SMG IV and V who underwent a surgical paradigm of endovascular embolization and simultaneous microsurgical resection based on the one-staged hybrid operation.Methods: Participants in the multicenter prospective clinical trial (NCT 03774017) between January 2016 and December 2019 were enrolled. Patients who received endovascular embolization plus microsurgical resection (EE+MRS) and those who received intraoperative digital subtraction angiography plus microsurgical resection (iDSA+MRS) were divided into two groups. Information on clinical features, operative details, and clinical outcomes were extracted from the database. Deterioration of neurological deficits (DNDs) was defined as the primary outcome, which represented neurological outcomes. The time of microsurgical operation and blood loss were defined as the secondary outcomes representing microsurgical risks and difficulties. Outcomes and technical details were compared between groups.Results: Thirty-eight cases (male: female = 23:15) were enrolled, with 24 cases in the EE+MRS group and 14 in the iDSA+MRS group. Five cases (13.2%) were in SMG V and 33 cases (86.8%) were in SMG IV. Fourteen cases (36.8%) underwent the paradigm of microsurgical resection plus intraoperative DSA. Twenty-four cases (63.2%, n = 24) underwent the paradigm of endovascular embolization plus simultaneous microsurgical resection. Degradations of SMG were achieved in 15 cases. Of the cases, two cases got the residual nidus detected via intraoperative DSA and resected. Deterioration of neurological deficits occurred in 23.7% of cases (n = 9) when discharged, and in 13.5, 13.5, 8.1% of cases at the follow-ups of 3, 6, and 12 months, respectively, without significant difference between groups (P > 0.05). Intracranial hemorrhagic complications were reported in three cases (7.9%) of the EE+MRS group only. The embolization did not significantly affect the surgical time and intraoperative blood loss. The subtotal embolization or the degradation of size by 2 points resulted in no DNDs.Conclusions: The paradigms based on the one-staged hybrid operation were practical and effective in treating high-grade AVMs. Appropriate intraoperative embolization could help decrease operative risks and difficulties and improve neurological outcomes.

Determining the nutrient requirements of industrial hemp to increase the yield requires quantifying variations in soil nutrients and enzyme activities in different growth stages, along with relevant soil microbial response. This study investigated the effects of different growth stages of industrial hemp on rhizosphere soil nutrients, enzyme activities, and microbial communities. The results showed that with the increase in the growth stages, the pH and available phosphorus (AP) decreased, while the soil organic matter (SOM), available nitrogen (AN), and available potassium (AK) increased substantially, indicating that the demand for nutrients of industrial hemp was constantly changing. Proteobacteria, Acidobacteria, Ascomycota, and Basidiomycota were found to be the keystone taxa to adapt to the nutrient requirements of industrial hemp at different growth stages by regulating soil enzyme activity. Furthermore, using the redundancy analysis and Spearman’s correlation analysis, we found that microbial taxonomic composition was related to the variations in AN, AP, and pH. In general, we emphasized that the interaction between industrial hemp and soil is closely related to the growth stage, which increases plant adaptability and growth because of the change of soil microorganisms.

A multi-line structured light measurement method that combines a single-line and a three-line laser, in which precision sliding rails and displacement measurement equipment are not required, is proposed in this paper. During the measurement, the single-line structured light projects onto the surface of an object and the three-line structured light remains fixed. The single-line laser is moved and intersects with the three-line laser to form three intersection points. The single-line light plane can be solved using the camera coordinates of three intersection points, thus completing the real-time calibration of the scanned light plane. The single-line laser can be scanned at any angle to determine the overall complete three-dimensional (3D) shape of the object during the process. Experimental results show that this method overcomes the difficulty of obtaining information about certain angles and locations and can effectively recover the 3D shape of the object. The measurement system’s repetition error is under 0.16 mm, which is sufficient to measure the 3D shapes of complicated workpieces.

Abstract Background Complex brain arteriovenous malformations (bAVMs) in ≥3 Spetzler-Martin grades have long been challenges among cerebrovascular diseases. None of the traditional methods, such as microsurgical operation, endovascular intervention, or stereotactic radiotherapy, can completely eliminate complex bAVMs without a risk of neural function deterioration. The multistaged hybrid operation solved part of the challenge but remained risky in the installment procedures and intervals. The one-staged hybrid operation was applied in the surgical treatment of cerebrovascular diseases and proved to be a potentially safe and effective method for curing complex bAVMs. However, lacking the support of high-level evidence, its advantages remain unclear. This study was proposed to validate the benefits and risks of one-staged hybrid operation in the treatment of complex bAVMs, as well as its indications, key technologies, and workflows. Methods The study is being conducted from Jan 2016 to Dec 2020 with 20 cooperation centers. It consists of 2 sets. The registry set is designed as a prospective real-world registry. The trial set is designed as a prospective pragmatic clinical trial, specifically for the patients with perforating arterial feeders. The two sets share a common grouping: the traditional operation group and the one-staged hybrid operation group. The assignment is based on the clinical condition in the registry set and is randomized in the trial set. End points will be evaluated at scheduled time points. The safety and efficiency of one-staged hybrid operation in treating complex bAVMs will be validated. Discussion The study is designed for a real-world exploration of benefits and risks of one-staged hybrid operation in the treatment of complex bAVMs. The two-set design reduces the compromise of clinical practice due to the study and improves the statistical power and research quality with a practical sample size. In the study, advantages of the one-staged hybrid operation will be evaluated and compared to those of traditional operation. A spanning development of neurosurgical operation might be facilitated by the study, which means a higher cure rate and lower disability rate in patients with complex bAVMs. Trial registration The study was retrospectively registered in ClinicalTrials.gov (NCT03774017) on 11th Dec, 2018.

This paper presents a novel predefined-time nonsingular tracking control system for a vertical-takeoff horizontal-landing (VTHL) reusable launch vehicle (RLV) in the face of parameter uncertainties, model couplings and external disturbances. Firstly, this paper proposes a novel predefined-time prescribed performance function (PTPPF) with desired steady-state and transient performance. The convergence time of PTPPF from the transient state to the steady state can be flexibly adjusted by changing one parameter. Moreover, the decreasing rate of PTPPF in the transient phase can also be adjusted by changing one parameter on the premise of not changing the convergence time of PPF to reach steady state. A novel predefined-time terminal sliding mode surface (SMS) is designed to avoid the singularity, and the attitude tracking errors on SMS are predefined-time stable. By utilizing PTPPF and error transformation, this paper designs a novel nonsingular sliding mode controller to guarantee the attitudes of RLV with desired tracking performance. Without using piecewise functions, the phenomenon of singularity can be avoided. The Lyapunov method is used to verify the stability of the controller. Lastly, a numerical simulation is presented to validate the efficiency of the proposed controller.

Aim: The aim of this guideline is to present current and comprehensive recommendations for the management of brain arteriovenous malformations (bAVMs) located in eloquent areas.Methods: An extended literature search on MEDLINE was performed between Jan 1970 and May 2020. Eloquence-related literature was further screened and interpreted in different subcategories of this guideline. The writing group discussed narrative text and recommendations through group meetings and online video conferences. Recommendations followed the Applying Classification of Recommendations and Level of Evidence proposed by the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association. Prerelease review of the draft guideline was performed by four expert peer reviewers and by the members of Chinese Stroke Association.Results: In total, 809 out of 2,493 publications were identified to be related to eloquent structure or neurological functions of bAVMs. Three-hundred and forty-one publications were comprehensively interpreted and cited by this guideline. Evidence-based guidelines were presented for the clinical evaluation and treatment of bAVMs with eloquence involved. Topics focused on neuroanatomy of activated eloquent structure, functional neuroimaging, neurological assessment, indication, and recommendations of different therapeutic managements. Fifty-nine recommendations were summarized, including 20 in Class I, 30 in Class IIa, 9 in Class IIb, and 2 in Class III.Conclusions: The management of eloquent bAVMs remains challenging. With the evolutionary understanding of eloquent areas, the guideline highlights the assessment of eloquent bAVMs, and a strategy for decision-making in the management of eloquent bAVMs.

Long-term continuous monoculture cultivation harms soil physicochemical and microbial communities in agricultural practices. However, little has been reported on the effect of continuous cropping of industrial hemp on bacterial community and diversity in the rhizosphere soil. Our study investigated the changes in physicochemical properties and bacterial communities of industrial hemp rhizosphere soils in different continuous cropping years. The results showed that continuous cropping would reduce soil pH and available phosphorus (AP), while electrical conductivity (EC), available nitrogen (AN), and available potassium (AK) would increase. Soil bacterial diversity and richness index decreased with continuous cropping years. At the same time, continuous cropping marked Acidobacteria, Bacteroidetes, and Gemmatimonadetes increase, and the Proteobacteria and Actinobacteria decreased. Moreover, we found that pH, AK, and AP were the critical factors associated with the changes in the abundance and structure of the bacterial community. Overall, our study first reported the effect of continuous cropping on the rhizosphere soil microflora of industrial hemp. The results can provide a theoretical basis for revealing the obstacle mechanism of continuous cropping of industrial hemp and contribute to the sustainable cultivation of industrial hemp in the future.

The material of disc cutters is important to full-face tunnel boring machines (TBM). In recent years, disc cutters were optimized and tested by many scholars all around the world. H13(4Cr5MoSiV1) steel is widely used due to its excellent properties, especially in TBM disc cutters. In this paper, H13 steel with optimized composition was prepared and heat treatment. The high temperature compression of H13 steel was conducted at the temperatures ranging from 100 °C to 700 °C, with strain rate at 0.01 s−1. The stress-strain curves, Rockwell hardness and microstructure of H13 steel after compression were obtained and analyzed. The results showed that the compression strength and hardness decreased as the temperature increased; and the compression strength, hardness and ductility decreased rapidly between 600 °C and 700 °C, HR700 (the hardness of H13 steel at 700 °C) only reached 33.23 HRC. It is not recommended for TBM disc cutters to work in an environment over 600 °C.

The soil monitoring network plays an important role in detecting the spatial distribution of soil attributes and facilitates sustainable land-use decision making. Reduced costs, higher speed, greater scope, and a loss of accuracy are necessary to design a regional monitoring network effectively. In this paper, we present a stochastic optimization design method for regional soil carbon and water content monitoring networks with a minimum sample size based on a modified particle swarm optimization algorithm equipped with multiobjective optimization technique. Our effort is to reconcile the conflicts between various objectives, that is, kriging variance, survey budget, spatial accessibility, spatial interval, and the amount of monitoring sites. We applied the method to optimize the soil monitoring networks in a semiarid loess hilly area located in northwest China. The results reveal that the proposed method is both effective and robust and outperforms the standard binary particle swarm optimization and spatial simulated annealing algorithm.
