Abstract The Hainan muntjac (Muntiacus nigripes) is a wild animal endemic to Hainan, China. Its species distribution and the diversity of muntjac karyotypes have attracted much attention. Although genomic resources have increased in recent years, relevant genome assembly data of Hainan muntjac are still lacking. Meanwhile, molecular evidence for the taxonomic units of this species remains lacking. In this study, we successfully assembled the Hainan muntjac haplotype genome at the chromosome level using Pacbio long read and long sequencing technologies and Hi-C data. The final assembly size was 2.66 Gb, with allele and scaffold N50 values of 29.27 and 700.27 Mb, respectively, and we scaffolded the genome sequence onto three chromosomes. The genome contains a total of 21,451 genes and 10,056 gene families. Phylogenetic analysis using single-copy gene families revealed that Hainan muntjac is most closely related to red muntjac, with a divergence time of 8–11 Ma. This new genomic resource of Hainan muntjac will be crucial for future comparative genomic analyses and genetic evolutionary studies.

Five layers of detrital amphiboles in the CJ08-008 sediment core from the northwest Indian Ocean have been found. To analyze their genetic types and provenance, an electron probe microanalysis of 300 amphibole grains from the core was conducted to calculate the numerical and characteristic values of cations in the crystal structure. The results showed that amphiboles with high Si, Ca, and Mg contents and low Na and K contents exhibit a low degree of weathering and that amphiboles mainly comprise tschermakite (46.43~70.69%), followed by magnesiohornblende, in the calcic amphibole subgroup. The types of sources for these amphiboles are mainly different types of metamorphic and magmatic rock. A large proportion of the detrital amphiboles (>60%) are derived from metamorphic rocks, followed by intermediate acid-intrusive rocks. The genetic analysis of amphiboles showed that most of the medium acid-intrusive amphiboles belong to the crust–mantle type, followed by the mantle type. Most of the amphiboles of metamorphic origin are of the low-pressure type. The amphiboles in the CJ08-008 sediment core exhibit characteristics different from those brought by monsoons from surrounding land masses. The variations in the amphiboles indicate different sources, which may have different origins; these origins could include the Carlsberg Ridge, the Owen Fault Zone, or older submarine sediment sequences eroded by turbidity currents.

Aiming at the problems of slow detection speed, large prediction error and weak environmental adaptability of current vehicle collision warning system, this paper proposes a recognition method of slippery road surface and collision warning system based on deep learning. Firstly, this paper uses the on-board camera to monitor the environment and road conditions in front of the vehicle in real time, and a residual network model FS-ResNet50 is proposed, which integrated SE attention mechanism and multi-level feature information based on the traditional ResNet50 model. The FS-ResNet50 model is used to identify the slippery states of the current road, such as wet and snowy. Secondly, the yolov5 algorithm is used to detect the position of the vehicle in front, and a driving safety distance model with adaptive traffic environment characteristics is established based on different road conditions and driving conditions, and an early warning area that dynamically changed with the speed and the road slippery states is generated. Finally, according to the relationship between the warning area and the position of the vehicle, the possible collision is predicted and timely warned. Experimental results show that the method proposed in this paper improves the overall warning accuracy by 6.72% and reduces the warning false alarm rate for oncoming traffic on both sides by 16.67% compared with the traditional collision warning system. It can ensure safe driving, especially in bad weather conditions and has a high application value.

Abstract Based on the broad-spectrum biological activities of echinopsine and acylhydrazones, a series of echinopsine derivatives containing acylhydrazone moieties have been designed, synthesized and their biological activities were evaluated for the first time. The bioassay results indicated that most of the compounds showed moderate to good antiviral activities against tobacco mosaic virus (TMV), among which echinopsine (I) (inactivation activity, 49.5 ± 4.4%; curative activity, 46.1 ± 1.5%; protection activity, 42.6 ± 2.3%) and its derivatives 1 (inactivation activity, 44.9 ± 4.6%; curative activity, 39.8 ± 2.6%; protection activity, 47.3 ± 4.3%), 3 (inactivation activity, 47.9 ± 0.9%; curative activity, 43.7 ± 3.1%; protection activity, 44.6 ± 3.3%), 7 (inactivation activity, 46.2 ± 1.6%; curative activity, 45.0 ± 3.7%; protection activity, 41.7 ± 0.9%) showed higher anti-TMV activity in vivo at 500 mg/L than commercial ribavirin (inactivation activity, 38.9 ± 1.4%; curative activity, 39.2 ± 1.8%; protection activity, 36.4 ± 3.4%). Some compounds exhibited insecticidal activities against Plutella xylostella, Mythimna separate and Spodoptera frugiperda. Especially, compounds 7 and 27 displayed excellent insecticidal activities against Plutella xylostell (mortality 67 ± 6% and 53 ± 6%) even at 0.1 mg/L. Additionally, most echinopsine derivatives exhibited high fungicidal activities against Physalospora piricola and Sclerotinia sclerotiorum.

The Yonaguni Knoll IV is an active seafloor hydrothermal system associated with submarine silicic volcanism located in the “cross back-arc volcanic trail” (CBVT) in the southwestern Okinawa Trough. However, the behavior of volatiles during magmatic differentiation in the shallow silicic magma chamber is unclear. Here, the volatile contents of apatite inclusions trapped in different phenocrysts (orthopyroxene and amphibole) and microphenocrysts in the rhyolite from the Yonaguni Knoll IV hydrothermal field were analyzed by using electron microprobe analysis, which aims to track the behavior of volatiles in the shallow magma chamber. Notably, the ‘texturally constrained’ apatites showed a decreasing trend of XCl/XOH and XF/XCl ratios. Based on the geochemical analyses in combination with thermodynamic modeling, we found that the studied apatites were consistent with the mode of volatile-undersaturated crystallization. Therefore, volatiles were not saturated in the early stage of magmatic differentiation in the shallow rhyolitic magma chamber, and consequently, the metal elements were retained in the rhyolitic melt and partitioned into crystalline magmatic sulfides. Additionally, previous studies suggested that the shallow rhyolitic magma chamber was long-lived and periodically replenished by mafic magma. The injection of volatile-rich and oxidized subduction-related mafic magmas can supply abundant volatiles and dissolve magmatic sulfide in the shallow magma chamber. These processes are important for the later-stage of volatile exsolution, while the forming metal-rich magmatic fluids contribute to the overlying Yonaguni Knoll IV hydrothermal system.
