LncRNA CASC15 has been determined as a novel tumor-related lncRNA in many cancers. However, the in-detail role of CASC15 remains elusive in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC). CASC15 expression level was detected in 113 ESCC tissues and paired adjacent normal tissues and in human ESCC cell lines. The effects of CASC15 on ESCC proliferation, migration, and invasion were assessed using CCK-8 and transwell assays. In addition, the potential downstream molecules of CASC15 were searched and confirmed by software algorithms, RT-qPCR, western blot, dual-luciferase reporter, and rescue experiments. CASC15 was upregulated in ESCC tissues and cell lines. CASC15 overexpression was associated with poorer prognosis in ESCC patients. Functionally, CASC15 knockdown inhibited cell proliferation, migration, and invasion of ESCC cells. Mechanistically, it was confirmed that CASC15 acts as competing endogenous RNA for miR-33a-5p to regulate PTGS2 expression. In addition, rescue assay showed that miR-33a-5p knockdown or PTGS2 overexpression abolished the cell proliferation, migration, and invasion inhibition role of CASC15 knockdown. In conclusion, this study indicates that CASC15 was upregulated in ESCC and CASC15 knockdown hindered ESCC progression through targeting the miR-33a-5p/PTGS2 axis. CASC15 might serve as a novel biomarker and therapeutic target for ESCC.

Background Metallothionein 1M (MT1M) functions to regulate cell proliferation and cancer metastasis. This study assessed the effects of MT1M overexpression and mouse double minute 2 homolog (MDM2) knockdown on the regulation of non-small cell lung cancer A549 cell viability, migration, and protein expression in vitro and explored the underlying molecular events. Methods A549 cells were stably infected with lentivirus carrying MT1M cDNA or transiently transfected MDM2 siRNA and/or treated with the p53 inhibitor for the assessment of changes in cell viability, wound healing, Transwell migration, and qRT-PCR and Western blot assays. Luciferase reporter assay was performed to investigate p53 binding to the MT1M promoter. Results The data showed that MT1M overexpression inhibited A549 cell viability and migration capacity in vitro, whereas the p53 inhibitor reversed the inhibition of A549 cell viability and migration caused by MT1M overexpression as well as the expression of MMP2, MMP9, and MMP14. Furthermore, knockdown of MDM2, an upstream inhibitor of p53 activity, was able to reduce A549 cell viability, migration, and protein expression. Thus, MDM2 knockdown had synergistic effects with MT1M overexpression on the suppression of A549 cell viability, migration, and protein expression. Conclusions In conclusion, MDM2 can bind to and phosphorylate p53 protein to inactivate the protein, thereby reducing MT1M expression and leading to tumor cell proliferation and migration.

Due to the complexity of underwater environment, the navigation of autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) is affected by current. Although some traditional methods can plan the non-collision path for AUV to reach the destination, it cannot overcome the influence of current on AUV navigation. In order to solve this problem, a velocity vector synthesis method combining belief function (BF) method is proposed. Among them, the BF method is used to dynamically plan the non-collision path. The velocity vector synthesis method is used to adjust the AUVs movement direction to offset the effect of time-varying current. The simulation results show that the proposed algorithm is effective and can overcome the problem of ‘current influence’. At the same time, compared with other methods, the proposed algorithm can guide AUV to achieve more efficient and adaptive path planning.

We optimize the interlayer buffer (ILB) process to make the contact opening wider, which is beneficial to the subsequent W deposition. The etching profile and the W deposition rate were optimized to improve the gap filling capability for relatively high aspect-ratio contact. Also, we demonstrated that the chemicals employed for wet strip after metal hard mask etching is also crucial for improving the W film quality.

This study evaluated the effect of Guo Qing Yi Tang (GQYT) combined with Western medicine cluster therapy on acute pancreatitis (AP).A total of 138 AP patients were recruited and divided into the observation group (68 patients) and control group (70 patients). The control group was treated with cluster therapy alone, while the observation group was treated with trans-jejunum feeding of GQYT combined with cluster therapy. Blood samples were taken before the treatment and 24 h, 72 h, and 1 week after the treatment. The serum concentrations of Di amine oxidase(DAO), Endotoxin(ET), D-lactic acid, Intestinal trefoil factor(ITF), MFG-E8, TNF-α, IL-1β, IL-6, and IL-8 were determined by using spectrophotometry and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. The concentrations of urinary lactulose and mannitol (L/M) were determined by high-performance liquid chromatography, and the urinary L/M value was calculated.Compared with the control group, the observation group had shorter hospital stay, faster recovery, significantly lower APACHE II score, and higher complete response rate (94.12%) after 1 week of treatment (P0.05). Moreover, the indicators related to intestinal mucosal barrier function (DAO, MFG-8, L/M) and inflammatory cytokines (TNF-α, IL-6, IL-8) were significantly reduced in the observation group after 1 week of treatment (P0.05).GQYT combined with cluster therapy for the treatment of AP has definite curative effect and rapid onset, reduces the level of inflammatory factors, and improves intestinal mucosal barrier function and APACHE II score. Thus, it has obvious clinical therapeutic advantages and can be used as a new therapeutic regimen for AP.

PIN1 is a peptidyl-prolyl cis/trans isomerase (PPIase) that controls cell fate by regulating multiple signal transduction pathways and is found to be overexpressed in a variety of malignant tumors. Herein, we found the expression of PIN1 is up-regulated while miRNA-370 (miR-370) down-regulated in both esophageal squamous-cell carcinoma (ESCC) tissues and cells. Transfection of miR-370 can significantly decrease PIN1 expression in targeting ESCC cells. Overexpression of miR-370 can induce decreased cell proliferation and cell cycle arrest, as well as increased apoptosis in ESCC cells, while this function can be significantly prevented by co-transfection of PIN1. Further experimental results demonstrated that β-catenin, cyclin D1, and caspase activation might be involved in miR-370/PIN1 induced growth inhibition and apoptosis. Besides, low miR-370 and high PIN1 expression significantly correlated with tumor diameter, poor differentiation, tumor invasion and lymph node metastasis in patients diagnosed with ESCC. In conclusion, downregulation of miR-370 in ESCC is associated with cancer progression and promotes cancer cell proliferation via upregulating PIN1, which might be a potential therapeutic target and adverse prognostic factor in the clinic.

The issues of Human–Machine Interface (HMI) of Virtual Environment (VE) are discussed in view of users' potential application requirements in VE. The Human-centered HMI containing rich context information is proposed by taking the advantage of the abundant research findings of artificial intelligence and pervasive computing. The technology of context-aware computing is introduced in this study for providing initiative services mode as well. First, in view of the characteristics of VE, the Web Ontology Language (OWL) is adopted to model the context information. Second, the modified ID3 decision-tree algorithm is applied to automatically generate the context rules of VE. Third, the polymorphic proactive services model based on context rules is designed. Finally, an example is given to illustrate how to apply context rule-inference to realize proactive services. The experiment demonstrates the correctness and effectiveness of the above mentioned algorithm and model.

The harm of bridge deformation is serious, real time monitoring of bridge deformation is important to ensure the safe use. Over the years, the routine measuring method is unable to complete the multiple, dynamic monitoring. This paper discusses the method of multi-points instantaneous monitoring by using GPS technology, makes a great contribution to improve the technology of bridge detection, and has achieved good results.

Steel shelves are widely used in logistics and warehousing, however, steel shelves often occur instability and other accidents in applications. Many of the destruction are instantaneous. [ Therefore, how to timely monitor the deformation of the shelf, especially the deformation of the shelves on the dynamic stress in the moment to ensure the safe of the shelves is very important. This article describes the method of using digital cameras to monitor dynamic and instantaneous deformation of shelf, which has the characteristics that easy to use, high accuracy, rapid reaction, and observing multi-point once, all-weather use, does not affect the normal work.

For needs of transportation, it is more and more obvious of the bridge unsafe, and the study of bridge safety monitor will become more important at the area of civil engineering. In this paper we discuss the methods of digital ground photogrammetry for bridge safety monitoring and the application of those, we took digital cameras and 3-D laser scanners as the tools for close-range photogrammetry, and adopted 3D Time Baseline Parallax combined with Kalman Variance Filters as the theories for monitoring dynamic deformation, then developed software to deal with data, which can draw curves of dynamic deformation automatically, we can monitor the deformation regularity by these curves effectively, then we can monitor and analysis the safety of bridges by this way. The method we designed is very simple and economical, and we also did a lot of experiments to verify availability of this system, and we happy to say that the system has the characteristics of high automation degree, large data collection capacity and strong system reliability, etc. It will be practical value at the area of civil engineering.

Since the engine hood is mainly manufactured in the drawing operation, the die addendum design is the key to the success of manufacturing a defect free product. In this study, the existing die addendum designs corresponding to those engine hoods were reviewed and the design parameters were constructed. The preliminary study was then performed to examine the influences of the stamping die angle, binder surface shape, and die open line shape on the defects occurred in the part. Based on the simulation results, the optimum design for the die addendum face was then investigated and a systematic design guideline was proposed. In order to validate the proposed design guideline, actual engine hoods were stamped according to the finite element analysis and the production part shapes, thickness distributions, and the stretch at the central region were compared with those obtained from the finite element simulations. The consistent agreement between the product parts and the simulation results confirms the validity of the design guideline proposed in the present study for stamping an engine hood.

A network based desktop virtual reality (VR) system is proposed, including the system design architecture and its implementation methods. By using the OpenGL and VC++, the system is successfully developed for explosive disposal training and teaching. The assembly module makes the user free from the complex geometric modeling. In addition, the security management separates sensitive data from non-EOD personnel. And the adaptive strategy of sharing node’s state synchronization and congestion control for multi-modes training is also given. Compared with the existing VR systems, the proposed scheme offers an affordable virtual simulation environment with low cost for similar teaching and training application.

It's well-known that dead reckoning algorithm (DR algorithm) used in distributed interactive simulation (DIS) can effectively reduce the amount of communication and its synchronization accuracy is acceptable commonly. But in the scenario-based interactive simulation applications, when DR algorithm is used alone the state of nodes are still likely to be inconsistent because of network delay and user interaction. And that would lead to some conflicts in the state of key events and scenes. A new practical method is proposed to solve this problem by using the adaptive state update strategy in sensitive region. The state update frequency can be adaptively adjusted according to the congestion state of the network. The distributed interactive simulation for explosive disposal training is conducted to test our method. Experimental results show that it can effectively maintain the real-time state synchronization.

As the uneasy sense of three-dimensional space and non-intuitiveness of resources information, it is difficult for users to find interesting or valuable information in network virtual environments. Therefore, a new personalized information recommendation algorithm based on MPF users clustering would be proposed in this paper. The MPF, namely Fuzzy C-Means (FCM) clustering based on Multi-Objects Particle Swarm Optimization (MOPSO), combines the respective advantages of PSO and FCM, which could prevent from those defects, for FCM to be susceptible to initial value and noisy data, and PSO to be easily falling into local optimum and so on. In order to improve clustering effect, we design the particle fitness function based on dual-objectives (intra-class distance and inter-class distance) in PSO. Finally, the standard data set and simulation data set are applied to test the personalized information recommendation algorithm based on MPF users clustering. The experimental result shows that this algorithm was of good performances.

With the widespread application of ubiquitous computing, the context-aware computing is introduced into virtual environment for providing proactive service model in this paper. The key technology of context-aware computing is to predefine the context rules set for inference. The current generation methods of context rules however are usually dependent on manual definition, which could cause lots of problems. Therefore the modified ID3 algorithm is proposed to automatically generate context rules based on virtual environment in this paper. It is to build a context decision tree and then convert this tree into rules set. The experimental result shows that this algorithm has a good performance in effectiveness of generated rules and computational efficiency.

The effects of the design parameters constructed in the present study on the occurrence of the defects were examined and a systematic design guideline was proposed. In order to validate the proposed die design, the actual stamping tooling was manufactured according to the finite element analysis and the engine hoods were produced. The part shape, thickness distribution, and the stretch at the central region of the production part were compared with those obtained from the finite element simulations. The consistent agreement between the product parts and the simulation results confirms the validity of the design guide proposed in the present study for stamping an engine hood.

Human meridian theory is the kernel of traditional Chinese medicine and is nowadays being accepted by the whole world. With people’s increasing interest in studying human meridian theory, the visualization of human meridian information is becoming more and more important. How to visualize the meridian information interactively in real time is a great challenge. A new architecture of human meridian information visualization system based on Web Services is presented in this paper. The system supports the adaptive presentation and data transfer according to the user’s context. Binary data that user requests and possibly needs is transferred while network is idle. And only a Web browser with X3D plug-in is needed for using this system. The experiment shows that the system can be used efficiently and friendly.

In this paper, the concept of the frequently covered points (FCP) and the infrequently covered points (ICP) is presented. By means of the cutpoints sieve method, we can rapidly pick out the corresponding cutpoints of ICP, namely preferred cutpoints, from all pending cutpoints of interval attributes. And then, only preferred cutpoints are used for computing information entropy of partition (IEP). Finally, the interval-valued decision tree can be built by IEP. The experiment indicates that, in general, this method could, to a great extent, reduce the computational complexity of creation of decision tree, thereby, improving the efficiency of classification.

An apparatus based on a high sensitive sensor which detects cardiovascular functions is introduced in this paper. Some intelligent detecting technologies, such as syntactic pattern recognition and a medical expert system are used in this detector. Its embedded single-chip microcomputer processes and analyzes pulse signals for gaining automatically the parameters about heart, blood vessel and blood etc., so as to get the health evaluation, correct medical diagnosis and prediction of cardiovascular diseases.

To analyse the prevalence, etiology, presentation, preserving ovary and prognosis of cervical cancer in women under 35 years old.The clinical information of 174 patients were retrospectively analysed.The percentage of new cervical cancer cases from 1991 to 2001 was 1.2%, 1.2%, 4.3%, 4.2%, 4.6%, 4.5%, 7.3%, 9.0%, 10.7%, 9.4%, 10.8%, respectively (P0.01). Contact bleeding was the main symptom that occurred in 101 cases (101/174, 58.0%). Cervicitis was incorrectly diagnosed in 45 cases (45/174, 25.9%). Sex irregularities occurred in 51 cases (51/174, 29.3%). The number of cases with carcinoma in situ, stage I, stage II, stage III was 22, 40, 94, 18, respectively. There are 29 cases with lymph vascular involvement, 60 with 1/2 or more penetration of the cervical stroma. The incidence of HPV16/18 infection was 34%. The ovarian metastasis was 0.8%. The 5 year survival rate of stage I - III was 71.6%, 60.4% and 13.3%, respectively (P0.01). COX regression analysis indicated that stage, lymph-vascular involvement and the depth of tumor infiltration were independently prognostic factors. For patients with one risk factor after radical surgery, the survival of patients with adjuvant radiation therapy and chemotherapy or not was 100%, 88%, respectively (P0.05). For patients with two or more risk factors, it was 68%, 1/7, respectively (P0.05).There is an increasing prevalence of cervical cancer in women under 35 years old, which is possibly related to the sexual transition. The preserving ovary in young cervical cancer patients is safe and effective. Patients with late stage, lymph-vascular involvement and deep infiltration of cervical stroma have poor prognosis. Adjuvant treatment may be helpful for patients with 2 or more risk factors after radical surgery.
