A new species of Gesneriaceae, Primulina clausa P.W.Li & M.Kang was described, which occurs in the karst areas of northern Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region of China. The new species is morphologically similar to P. obtusidentata (W.T.Wang) Mich.Möller & A.Weber, but can be readily distinguished by its short and prostrate peduncle, slightly unfolded bracts, appressed sepals, glabrous anthers, parietal placenta, and nearly straight capsules.

In view of energy consumption characteristics of a typical industrial park, to further improve the low-grade waste heat utilization of CCHP system, an improved CCHP triple-generation system (ITRI) equipped with thermal storage device (TSD) and electric chiller (EC) is proposed. A comprehensive performance evaluation criterion (CPEC) is established, the capacity of triple-generation system is configured by using nonlinear programming method. A hybrid operating mode optimization strategy is proposed based on the different CPEC values of different operating mode. The results demonstrate that: after adopting ITRI, compared with traditional triple-generation system (TTRI), although annual cost increased by 0.63%, the primary energy consumption rate and lower carbon dioxide emissions decreased by 5.45% and 3.72% respectively, CPEC value increased by 19.7%. This paper has a theoretical guidance for design of triple-generation system in new industrial park and has a certain reference value for operating mode optimization of triple-generation system in the industrial parks which has been built.

The model of coupled exhaust hood with condenser throat and the model of coupled exhaust hood, condenser throat with last stage were simulated based on the turbulence model Realizable k-ε. Calculated results show that due to the ignoring of the inlet swirl in the model coupled exhaust hood with condenser throat, the flow field is symmetrical and the pressure loss is small. Due to the influence of last stage, in the model of coupled exhaust hood, condenser throat with last stage, the flow field of the inlet of the exhaust hood is uneven, and the vortexes changed more complex, resulting in the increase of the pressure loss of each part and a greater influence in the diffuser pipe. The proportion of pressure loss of diffuser pipe in total pressure loss increases from 0.086 to 0.358, and there is a 70% decline of proportion of pressure loss in volute and condenser throat. In addition, the proportion of the pressure loss in volute is the largest one in these two coupled models. So more attention should be paid in the influence of the last stage, and weaken the vortexes in the volute when designing or optimizing the exhaust passage of steam turbine.

One unusual aromatic monacolin analog, aromonacolin A (1), was isolated from the ethanolic extract of Monascus purpureus-fermented rice. Its structure was elucidated by extensive spectroscopic (HRESIMS, (1)H NMR, (13)C NMR, HSQC, HMBC, and NOESY) and chemical methods. The absolute configuration of the C-6 secondary alcohol was deduced via the circular dichroism data of the in situ formed [Rh(2)(OCOCF(3))(4)] complex.

PI3K, phosphatidylinositol-3-kinase, is a specific lipid kinase family. It is associated with cell proliferation and survival..Class-IA PI3K is heterodimers composed of catalytic subunit (p110) and regulatory subunit (p85). p85α is the most abundant regulatory subunit of PI3K family. PI3K-p85α partial cDNA was amplified by RT-PCR from Inner Mongolia Cashmere Goat (Capra hircus) and sequenced. The molecular characterization of the PI3K-p85α gene was described. The amplified fragment is 1152bp in length, corresponding to a polypeptide of 384 amino acids residues with 45.4 kDa predicted molecular mass. The cDNA nucleotide sequence has 98% identity with regulatory subunit alpha (PIK3R1) of bovine and 93% identity with human. The goat PI3K-p85α patial cDNA is cloned.

This paper is aimed to analyse contact stress of ring-plate indexing cam mechanism which is a new type of indexing cam mechanism. A contact finite element model of the cam and the pin gear is established with the commercial software of MATLAB and ANSYS. With the finite element analysis, the contact stress of the cam and the pin gear is predicted in one motion cycle. On the basis of the finite element analysis, the force and the position of maximum stress are obtained. The conclusion proposed here is reliable to instruct the design of ring-plate indexing cam mechanism.

Autophagy is a cellular response against stresses which include the infection of viruses and bacteria. We unravel that Dengue virus-2 (DV2) can trigger autophagic process in various infected cell lines demonstrated by GFP-LC3 dot formation and increased LC3-II formation. Autophagosome formation was also observed under the transmission electron microscope. DV2-induced autophagy further enhances the titers of extracellular and intracellular viruses indicating that autophagy can promote viral replication in the infected cells. Moreover, our data show that ATG5 protein is required to execute DV2-induced autophagy. All together, we are the first to demonstrate that DV can activate autophagic machinery that is favorable for viral replication.

Vascular leakage, one hallmark of dengue haemorrhagic fever (DHF) and dengue shock syndrome, has been linked to the mediators secreted from cells in the circulatory system. In this study, extremely high expression levels of monocyte chemoattractant protein-1 (MCP-1) were found in the plasma of DHF patients compared with low MCP-1 expression levels in the plasma of enterovirus 71-infected patients. It was also found that MCP-1 expression was induced in dengue virus 2 (DV2)-infected monocytes and lymphocytes, but not in liver or endothelial cells. Exposing monolayers of human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs) to recombinant human MCP-1 (rhMCP-1) or to the culture supernatant of DV2-infected human monocytes increased the vascular permeability of the cells. MCP-1-neutralizing monoclonal antibody only partially prevented monolayer permeability change. Consistently, the distribution of the tight junction protein ZO-1 on the cellular membranes of HUVECs was disrupted by rhMCP-1 or by the conditioned medium of DV2-infected monocytes. In summary, it was found that the increased permeability and disrupted tight junctions of human vascular endothelium cells were effected through a mechanism partially dependent on MCP-1, which was secreted by DV2-infected monocytes and lymphocytes.

To observe whether the mutant selective windows (MSW) of ciprofloxacin would be reduced after its combination against Pseudomonas aeruginosa in rabbits.Firstly the minimal inhibitory concentration (MIC), mutant prevention concentration (MPC), mutant selective windows (MSW, MPC-MIC) and selective indices (SI, MPC/MIC) of ciprofloxacin and tobramycin were measured in vitro respectively with standard strain ATCC27853. And the MIC was detected for the combination of ciprofloxacin and tobramycin. The rabbit tissue cage model was constructed to determine the pharmacokinetic parameters of ciprofloxacin by HPLC (high performance liquid chromatography). Fifty-five rabbits were randomly divided by a random number table into 11 groups: physiological saline in 1 group, ciprofloxacin alone in 5 groups and ciprofloxacin plus tobramycin in another 5 groups. The rabbits received ciprofloxacin 10 times a day at a 2-hour dosing interval. In 2 dosing groups, the steady state concentrations of ciprofloxacin reached to 0.25, 0.5, 1.0, 2.0 and 4.0 mg/L respectively. The dose of tobramycin was 2.0 mg×kg(-1)×d(-1) and its peak concentration reached around 2.0 mg/L. At Day 3, the tissue juice was extracted, diluted and coated on agar plates with ciprofloxacin at a concentration of 0.25 mg/L so as to observe the growing condition of mutants.Against Pseudomonas aeruginosa, the values of MIC, MPC and SI of ciprofloxacin were 0.25 mg/L, 4.0 mg/L and 16 while 0.25 mg/L, 8.0 mg/L and 32 for tobramycin respectively. Single groups: the mutants were found in 0.25, 0.5, 1.0 and 2.0 mg/L groups, but none in 4.0 mg/L group. The MPC of ciprofloxacin was the same for in vivo and in vitro. Both were at 16. Combination groups: the mutants were only found in the group with a concentration of ciprofloxacin at 0.25 mg/L while no mutants in the other groups. And MPC was 0.5 mg/L and MIC 0.125 mg/L for ciprofloxacin plus tobramycin. And the value of SI was 4.The combined use of ciprofloxacin and tobramycin may reduce the mutant selective windows of ciprofloxacin against P. aeruginosa in rabbits so as to reduce the occurrence of mutants to control its drug resistance.

To investigate the chemical constituents from the branch of Fraxinus sieboldiana, and evaluate their antioxidative activity.The chemical constituents were isolated and purified by chromatographic techniques over silica gel, macroporous adsorbent resin, Sephadex LH-20, and preparative HPLC. Structures of the compounds were identified by spectroscopic methods. The antioxidant activity was evaluated by Fe(+2)-cystine induced rat liver microsomal lipid peroxidation.Eight coumarins were obtained and their structures were elucidated as esculin (1) , esculetin (2), fraxin (3), fraxetin (4), 6, 7-di-O-beta-D-glucopyranosylesculetin (5), scopoletin (6), cleomiscosin D (7) and cleomiscosin B (8). At a concentration of 10(-6) mol x L(-1), compound 4 showed antioxidative activity inhibiting Fe(+2)-cystine induced rat liver microsomal lipid peroxidation with inhibitory rate of 60%.Compounds 5, 7 and 8 were obtained from the genus Fraxinus for the first time. Compound 4 showed remarkable antioxidative activity, which was higher than that of VE (35%).

Primary malignant lymphoma localized in the uterine cervix is a rare condition for which radiation therapy, surgery, or chemotherapy either alone or in combination have been the mainstay of treatment. The effectiveness of neoadjuvant chemotherapy for this condition, however, has not been evaluated. We experienced one case of primary malignant lymphoma of the uterine cervix, stage IIa according to FIGO, and IEA according to the Ann Arbor staging system for extranodal lymphomas, which was treated with neoadjuvant chemotherapy and surgery. The patient first underwent neoadjuvant chemotherapy consisting of cyclophosphamide, vinblastine, epirubicin, bleomycin, procarbazin, and oncovin (COP-BLAM) to reduce the size of the tumor. This was followed by an extended total hysterectomy, left salpingo-oophorectomy, and bilateral pelvic lymph node dissection. Neoadjuvant chemotherapy given before surgery resulted in a remarkable reduction in the tumor size which made the subsequent surgery technically easy. In addition, it is possible that intraoperative micrometastasis of the tumor cells could be better prevented. The patient received additional chemotherapy with COP-BLAM schedules postoperatively. No evidence of recurrent lymphoma has been observed in 2 years after the treatment. Neoadjuvant chemotherapy may be an effective treatment modality for primary malignant lymphoma of the uterine cervix.
