Abstract

Fabricating highly ordered tall L10–FePt with a small grain pitch distance on a commercially available glass substrate is crucial to realize heat-assisted magnetic recording (HAMR) media for industrial manufacture. We have realized tall FePt grains surrounded by crystalized h–BN on Corning NXT™ glass deposited at elevated temperatures in the presence of radio frequency (RF) bias. In this paper, we discuss the effect of deposition temperature on the order parameter of L10–FePt–BN granular media. Well-isolated L10–FePt–BN granular media with a grain diameter of 6.5 nm and height of 11 nm is achieved. These films exhibit a high order parameter of 0.85 with a perpendicular coercivity of 35 kOe.

4. Conformal Anti-Reflective Coatings on 3D DUV Optics

Abstract

Conformal AR coatings for DUV optics were performed via atomic layer deposition. 6-layer AR using Al2O3/SiO2 and 4-layer using HfO2/SiO2 were demonstrated with a high transmittance > 99% and a low reflectance at 266 nm.

5. A signal enhanced state space approach for the estimation of two-dimensional frequencies

Abstract

In this paper, we present a new algorithm for the two-dimensional (2-D) frequency estimation problem. The new method begins with the construction of a state space model associated with the noiseless 2-D data. Two auxiliary matrices are then introduced from which the two frequency components can be estimated via frequency shifting properties. Moreover, two signal enhancement procedures have also been incorporated to make the algorithm more robust. The resulting signal enhanced state space (SESS) algorithm not only can handle the case when some 2-D frequencies share one common component, but it also yields low deviation, high resolution frequency estimates. Simulation results justify this new algorithm.
