BACKGROUND: While the transdisciplinary-based rehabilitation provided ample evidence on improving impairment (body structure and functions) levels, the therapeutic effects on the international classification of functioning, disability, and health (ICF) domains are unknown in cerebral palsy (CP). OBJECTIVE: To compare the effects of the community-based family-child-centered care (CFC) and conventional pediatric rehabilitation (CPR) on the physical, cognitive, sensory, and social integration domains in children and adolescents with CP. METHODS: Twenty-six participants with CP (mean age = 9.37±5.24, 14 females) were assigned into either CPR or CFC groups. 본 연구는 MZ세대인 20대 대학생들을 대상으로 설문조사를 통해 소셜미디어 상에서 게재되는 네이티브 광고에 대한 태도와 공유의도에 영향을 미칠 것으로 생각되는 소셜미디어 이용동기, 개인적 특성으로서의 설득지식, 제품 유형에 대해 살펴보았다. 소셜미디어 이용동기와 관련하여 20대 대학생들의 소셜미디어 이용에 대한 정보적 및 사회적 동기는 네이티브 광고 공유의도에 긍정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 소셜미디어에 대한 오락적 동기는 네이티브 광고태도에 긍정적 영향을 미쳤다. 그러나 개인적 성향으로서의 소비자 설득지식은 네이티브 광고 태도 및 공유 의도에 부정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 제품 유형 또한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 소셜미디어 이용동기와 설득지식이 네이티브 광고 효과에 미치는 영향이 제품 유형에 따라 다르게 나타났다. 본 연구의 결과는 소셜미디어에서 네이티브 광고를 집행하는 기업들에게 시사점을 제공할 수 있을 것이다.

BACKGROUND: There is a dearth of information on the effects of different types (Segmental rehabilitation service (SRS) vs Community-based rehabilitation service (CRS)) on the parenting stress and family quality of life in parents of children who have individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). OBJECTIVE: This paper is to compare the effects of SRS and CRS on parenting stress and family quality of life in parents of individuals with IDD. METHODS: A cross-sectional design was used to examine parenting stress and family quality life in cohorts of 120 fathers and mothers of children with IDD who had received either SRS or CRS participated in the survey. The outcome measures included the modified Parenting Stress Index (PSI) and the modified Beach Center Family Quality of Life Scale (mBCFQLS). The Mann-Whitney U test was performed at P< 0.05. RESULTS: A significant difference was observed in social stress in PSI between the SRS and CRS groups (P= 0.03). The child rearing, emotional well-being, and physical and material well-being variables in mBCFQLS were different between the SRS and CRS groups (P< 0.05), indicating superior benefits from CRS than SRS. CONCLUSIONS: These findings provide important information and about parenting stress and family quality of life in children with IDD, for developing effective rehabilitation programs and services for these parents.

PurposeDrawing upon attribution theory, this study aims to examine how different types of product information sources (mainstream celebrities vs micro-celebrities) interact with content type (experiential vs promotional) to influence consumer response toward native posts on social media (causal attributions and click intention).Design/methodology/approachA total of 134 adult Twitter users participated in a 2 (source type: mainstream celebrity vs micro-celebrity) × 2 (content type: experiential vs promotional) between-subjects online experimental design.FindingsResults showed that for experiential native advertising, messages from a micro-celebrity generated more information-sharing attributions and less monetary gain attributions than those from a mainstream celebrity on social media. Moreover, the experiential native ads from a micro-celebrity elicited greater intention to click the URL than those from a mainstream celebrity. However, consumer response was similar for promotional native advertising regardless of message source. This study demonstrates that information-sharing attributions mediate the interaction effects of source type and content types on click intention.Originality/valueThis study contributes to the literature on native advertising by providing empirical evidence to highlight the effect of message source and content type on consumer response. This study shows that the success of native advertising depends on how consumers perceive the messages and content creators' intention to communicate.

This study explores how consumer regulatory focus interacts with the valence of review to influence their responses to online product reviews. The findings showed a significant two-way interaction effect between regulatory focus and review valence. When the review was negative, prevention-focused consumers perceived the review as more useful than did promotion-focused consumers. In contrast, when the review was mixed, promotion-focused consumers perceived the review as more useful than did prevention-focused consumers. Unexpectedly, when the review was positive, there was no difference between prevention- and promotion-focused consumers in perceived usefulness. Implications for researchers are discussed.

Background: Sarcopenia, i.e., the decline of skeletal muscle tissue with age, is a key cause of functional deterioration and loss of independence in older adults, and increases the risks of fall, hospitalization, and mortality; it requires active prevention and management of sarcopenia in community-dwelling older adults. Existing diagnostic criteria for sarcopenia have typically been developed for European populations and may not be applicable to Asian populations. The present study aimed to identify the prevalence of sarcopenia in community-dwelling Korean older adults, and validate two simplified diagnostic algorithms based on the Asian Working Group for Sarcopenia (AWGS) algorithm for identifying sarcopenia. Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted on 388 community-dwelling older adults (254 women and 134 men, with a mean age of 77.8 ± 6.26 years [range, 65‒93 years]), from a rural area in Korea. Muscle strength was measured by hand grip strength, physical performance by gait speed, and muscle mass by skeletal muscle mass index (SMI). Sarcopenia was assessed using the AWGS-recommended algorithm as well as two simplified algorithms (A and B). Algorithms A and B were validated with respect to the AWGS-recommended algorithm using the chi-square test, and the sensitivity and specificity were obtained. Results: The prevalence of sarcopenia, determined using the AWGS-recommended algorithm, was 41.7% and 40.3% in men and women, respectively. The overall prevalence of sarcopenia was 39.2% by the AWGS-recommended algorithm, 37.6% by algorithm A, and 37.6% by algorithm B; 137 participants were classified as sarcopenia by all three methods (p = .223).Conclusion: We established the prevalence of sarcopenia among rural community-dwelling adults in Korea and confirmed that the simplified algorithms were suitable for identification of sarcopenia in rural community-dwelling older adults in Korea. Further studies are needed to assess whether these simplified algorithms are also applicable to older Asian adults with functional and/or cognitive impairment, as well as nursing home residents.

This article analyses a case involving the dismissal of a tenured faculty member at Hiroshima City University of Japan. The university dismissed a Korean woman associate professor after filing a criminal complaint against her, leading to a house raid, her arrest and media coverage. After 11 days of detention, the Hiroshima Prosecutor’s Office decided not to indict her because they could not find criminal intent on her part. With the suspicion of the university’s fabrication of her criminality looming large, she was dismissed within a few hours of her release. The university’s attempt to purge a critical foreign faculty member from the university campus, faculty housing and the country of Japan was an almost complete success until the case became an international controversy with counter-media exposure and the formation of a transnational support network. This case reveals a volatile mixture of race- and gender-based discrimination, administrative incompetence and politicised financial subsidy as a backdrop to violations of human rights and academic freedom. The present article shows that the rights’ violations in this case are closely connected to rising nationalism, the politicisation of educational subsidy and ideological human agencies with a set of professional agendas.
