The article profiles eight U.S. activists including blogger and online magazine editor Carmen Rios, writer and media personality Tyler Ford, and Indigenous environmental activist Xiuhtezcatl Tonatiuh. Changes they are sparking include feminism, diversification in the depiction of the trans and queer experience in mainstream media, and climate change. Other activists highlighted include immigrant activist Angy Rivera, horror director Emily DiPrimio, and actress/comedian Jessica Williams.
