$\epsilon$ Eridani is the closest star to our Sun known to host a debris disc. Prior observations in the (sub-)millimetre regime have potentially detected clumpy structure in the disc and attributed this to interactions with an (as yet) undetected planet. However, the prior observations were unable to distinguish between structure in the disc and background confusion. Here we present the first ALMA image of the entire disc, which has a resolution of 1.6"$\times$1.2". We clearly detect the star, the main belt and two point sources. The resolution and sensitivity of this data allow us to clearly distinguish background galaxies (that show up as point sources) from the disc emission. We show that the two point sources are consistent with background galaxies. After taking account of these, we find that resolved residuals are still present in the main belt, including two clumps with a $>3\sigma$ significance -- one to the east of the star and the other to the northwest. We perform $n$-body simulations to demonstrate that a migrating planet can form structures similar to those observed by trapping planetesimals in resonances. We find that the observed features can be reproduced by a migrating planet trapping planetesimals in the 2:1 mean motion resonance and the symmetry of the most prominent clumps means that the planet should have a position angle of either ${\sim10^\circ}$ or ${\sim190^\circ}$. We present constraints on the dust continuum flux and inferred gas content of a gravitationally lensed massive quiescent galaxy at $z$=1.883$\pm$0.001 using AzTEC 1.1mm imaging with the Large Millimeter Telescope. MRG-S0851 appears to be a prototypical massive compact quiescent galaxy, but has evidence that it experienced a centrally concentrated rejuvenation event in the last 100 Myr (see Akhshik et al. 2020). This galaxy is undetected in the AzTEC image but we calculate an upper limit on the millimeter flux and use this to estimate the H$_2$ mass limit via an empirically calibrated relation that assumes a constant molecular gas-to-dust ratio of 150. We constrain the 3$\sigma$ upper limit of the H$_2$ fraction from the dust continuum in MRG-S0851 to be ${M_{H_2}/M_{\star}}$ $\leq$ 6.8%. MRG-S0851 has a low gas fraction limit with a moderately low sSFR owing to the recent rejuvenation episode, which together results in a relatively short depletion time of $, Comment: 8 pages, 4 figures, accepted for publication in Astrophysical Journal Letters in January 2021 (in press)

The Large Millimeter Telescope (LMT) Alfonso Serrano is a 50m-diameter single-dish radio telescope constructed at an altitude of 4600 meters on the summit of Volcan Sierra Negra, an extinct volcano in the Mexican state of Puebla. The LMT is a bi-national scientific collaboration between Mexico and the USA, led by the Instituto Nacional de Astrofisica, Optica y Electronica (INAOE) and the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. The telescope currently operates at wavelengths from 4mm to 1mm, and during the dry winter months the LMT site provides the highest levels of atmospheric transmission and potential future access to submillimeter observing windows. This paper describes the current status and scientific performance of the LMT, the suite of scientific instrumentation and future engineering upgrades that will optimize the optical efficiency of the telescope and increase its scientific productivity.

The Large Millimeter Telescope Alfonso Serrano (LMT) is a 50m-diameter radio telescope for millimeter-wave astronomy. In this paper we describe a number of initiatives underway to upgrade the antenna systems and permit scientific observations during daylight hours. We summarize recent efforts to characterize the thermal gradients that occur within the LMT structure and to identify important modes of surface deformation. The mitigation program involves use of the LMT's active surface to counteract the effects of measured thermal gradients within the antenna structure. It also includes active measures such as the installation of a ventilation system in the antenna backup structure. Prospects for additional active metrology measurements of the antenna surface for real-time surface corrections are also discussed.

An advanced conceptual design of a high-bit-rate triple product acousto-optical processor is presented that can be applied in a number of astrophysical problems. We briefly describe the Large Millimeter Telescope as one of the potential observational infrastructures where the acousto-optical spectrometer can be successfully used. A summary on the study of molecular gas in relatively old (age > 10 Myr) disks around main sequence stars is provided. We have identified this as one of the science cases in which the proposed processor can have a big impact. Then we put forward triple product acousto-optical processor is able to realize algorithm of the space-and-time integrating, which is desirable for a wideband spectrum analysis of radio-wave signals with an improved resolution providing the resolution power of about 105 - 106. It includes 1D-acousto-optic cells as the input devices for a 2D-optical data processing. The importance of this algorithm is based on exploiting the chirp Z-transform technique providing a 2D-Fourier transform of the input signals. The system produces the folded spectrum, accumulating advantages of both space and time integrating. Its frequency bandwidth is practically equal to the bandwidth of transducers inherent in acousto-optical cells. Then, similar processor is able to provide really high frequency resolution, which is practically equal to the reciprocal of the CCD-matrix photo-detector integration time. Here, the current state of developing the triple product acousto-optical processor in frames of the astrophysical instrumentation is shortly discussed.

We develop a multi-band spectrometer with a few spatially parallel optical arms for the combined processing of their data flow. Such multi-band capability has various applications in astrophysical scenarios at different scales: from objects in the distant universe to planetary atmospheres in the Solar system. Each optical arm exhibits original performances to provide parallel multi-band observations with different scales simultaneously. Similar possibility is based on designing each optical arm individually via exploiting different materials for acousto-optical cells operating within various regimes, frequency ranges and light wavelengths from independent light sources. Individual beam shapers provide both the needed incident light polarization and the required apodization to increase the dynamic range of a system. After parallel acousto-optical processing, data flows are united by the joint CCD matrix on the stage of the combined electronic data processing. At the moment, the prototype combines still three bands, i.e. includes three spatial optical arms. The first low-frequency arm operates at the central frequencies ~60-80 MHz with frequency bandwidth ~40 MHz. The second arm is oriented to middle-frequencies ~350-500 MHz with frequency bandwidth ~200-300 MHz. The third arm is intended for ultra-high-frequency radio-wave signals about 1.0-1.5 GHz with frequency bandwidth
