In this work we presented an ENEAGRID approach toward Parallel Text Mining of Big Data in massive cultural Textual Corpora. ENEAGRID provides computation, storage resources and services for Text Mining Communities in a ubiquitous and remote way. ENEA distributed e-Infrastructure and cloud services enable the management of research process in Economic-Social Sciences, Digital Humanities and Cybersecurity, providing technology solutions and tools to academic departments and research institutes. With these research activity ENEA opens to collaborations with other Research Communities interested in Parallel Text Mining of Massive Volume of Text Data (PB &TB-sized corpora) in e-Humanities, Heritage Science, Social Sciences, Big Data, Web Mining, Business Intelligence, Open Source Intelligence, Artificial Intelligence, etc

In the last years, with the large growth of new state-of-the-art technologies used in the field of cultural heritage, it's increasingly necessary to promote non-invasive and non-destructive techniques which are "sensitive" to the nature of the site in which they are applied, respecting the Italian historical-artistic heritage. Within the COBRA project [1], ENEA developed a new low-cost and non-destructive survey technique by 3D Photogrammetric reconstruction, using the Structure from Motion (SfM) method, for innovative applications in the field of cultural heritage [2]. This paper shows an application of this methodology on the archaeological complex of Priscilla's Catacombs in Rome. Three case studies have been identified, with several design purposes, showing the different applications of this technique: a sarcophagus called “Sarcofago delle Muse”, a chapel named “Cappella Greca” and a masonry element, which are all situated in the “Criptoportico” area.

The Corsini Throne preserved in the Corsini Gallery in Rome has been investigated by an integrated approach involving non-invasive technologies: photogrammetry and structured light. The advantages and potential of the integration of these two techniques are illustrated in this paper. The ENEA R.C. has conducted survey campaign on the Corsini Throne preserved at Corsini Gallery in Rome. The activity was developed in the frame of the "WeACT3" Project (Acting Together - Technology for Art, Culture, Tourism and Territory) jointly signed by CIVITA Association, of which ENEA is an honorary member, and the National Barberini and Corsini Galleries, collaborating in a partnership of several national and international enterprises.

This document summarises the views expressed by the Italian Computing and Data Initiative (ICDI) in response to the open consultation for the EOSC Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA), closed on the 31st of August. It provides insightful input and suggestions about the current draft of the SRIA document shared with the wider EOSC community, with the aim of helping to shape the future vision of the European Open Science Cloud.

In this document we provide an overview on the development and the integration in ENEAGRID of some tools able to download data from Web (Web Crawling), manage and display a large amount of data (Big Data), and extract from data relevant hidden information (Data Mining). We collected all these instruments inside the so called Web Crawling Project. Further, the corresponding environment, called Virtual Laboratory, is able to offer the possibility to use all these integrated tools remotely and by a simple graphical interface. A detailed description of the developed web application will be illustrated. This paper introduces a renewed gateway to ENEAGRID distributed computing resources, named Fast Access to Remote Objects 2.0 (FARO 2.0). FARO 2.0 is a tool for application and desktop virtualization with a strong focus towards user experience (UX), providing trained as well as untrained users a collection of centralized services that can be seamlessly used on their client through a remote desktop protocol. FARO 2.0 is a JavaFX application whose graphical user interface (GUI) and whose main logics has been implemented through the wellknown Web technologies (HTML5, CSS3, Javascript) for a easier maintainability and customizability, taking full advantage of the WebView component. Its framework has been deployed both as general purpose GUI for remote user access to ENEAGRID resources and as specialized application or workflow oriented GUI. They are applied in a set of applicative domains, ranging from material science to technologies for energy and industry, environmental modeling and nuclear fusion. Some examples and results are also presented.

ENEA Staging Storage Sharing (E3S) is a cloud storage system developed under the ENEA ICT infrastructure using Owncloud as architectural component for file syncing and sharing.

Board diversity is an important mechanism of corporate governance in order to ensure the efficacy of the management and monitoring actions. A large number of empirical studies and the European Commission identify board diversity as an important indicator of success for international corporate practice. Although many indices have been proposed to evaluate diversity, no universally accepted measure has yet been established. Even in ecology, diversity, meant as bio-diversity, is a very important aspect in assessing the quality of the environment; for this reason, also in this field, numerous indices have been proposed. This paper aims to make a review and a comparison between the diversity indices proposed in the two areas and understand what are the limitations and advantages of the indices proposed in recent decades.

The human capital stock of the firm, accumulated through educational and training activities, is one of the main factors of production and economic growth. From the firm’s perspective, the aim of the human capital investment is to increase productivity; instead, for the employees, the primary aims of the education and training are the effects on their wages and carriers. Our paper focuses on the analysis of the determinants that can affect the performance of employees in a training course. In particular, it is proposed a fuzzy regression model to analyze the dependence of the dependent variable "vote" by some independent fuzzy and crisp variables.

Recent meta-analysis confirms that Entrepreneurial Orientation (EO) is a substantial predictor of firm performance (Rauch et al. 2009). Yet the relationship between EO and the performance is more complex than a simple direct relationship (Lumpkin and Dess, 1996) and there is still a lack of knowledge about which factors moderate this causal linkage. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the degree to which governance structures in SMEs moderate the effectiveness of EO on firm performance. Specifically, we study the family/non-family composition of both board and top management teams. Our random sample is drawn from 1,160 Italian manufacturing SMEs compiled by the Center for Social and Economic Studies of Chamber of commerce, 94 CEO responded to a survey sent to 590 of these SMEs to collect data related to EO and governance characteristics. Financial performance data was taken from AIDA Bureau van Dijk's database. A hierarchical linear regression analysis was used to test our hypothesis. Our main results demonstrate that when there is a Family only Board composition then EO has a negative and slight impact, when there is a non-family-only board then EO has a strong and positive influence on firm performance. Moreover, we find that if TMT is dominated by family, then high EO has a negative impact on firm performance, while if the TMT is non-family, then the impact is really strong. Future research is required to investigate which family/non family board behaviour and characteristics enable firms to effectively translate EO into firm performance.

Pressure ulcers (PrUs) remain a concern for clinicians, patients, caregivers, and researchers. Although data on prevalence and incidence are available, as well as evidence-based prevention and management intervention, PrU healing time is underreported. OBJECTIVE: The objective of this study was to evaluate the healing time of Stage II PrUs. METHODS: Secondary analysis of data collected from a multicenter randomized clinical trial was undertaken. Patients (a) with a Stage II PrU, (b) older than 18 years, and (c) who had given informed consent were included. The endpoints of the study were complete re-epithelialization of the PrU measured with the Pressure Ulcer Scale for Healing Tool 3.0 and the healing time. A network of 46 healthcare centers located in northern Italy participated in the study. RESULTS: Two hundred seventy patients with an average age of 83.9 years (95% confidence interval [CI], 82.71Y85.10) were recruited. Among 270 Stage II PrUs included, 153 lesions healed (56.7%), whereas 74 (27.4%) were still present after 10 weeks of follow-up. For 43 lesions (15.9%), the follow-up evaluation was interrupted because of patient death or transfer to units not included in the study. The PrUs healed on an average of 22.9 days (95% CI, 20.47Y25.37 days), with a median of 18 days. The average healing time for PrUs of less than 3.1 cm2 was significantly shorter (19.2 days; 95% CI, 16.6Y21.8) compared with those 3.1 cm2 or greater (31.0 days; 95% CI, 26.4Y35.6 days) (P = .000). CONCLUSIONS: To achieve complete re-epithelialization in Stage II PrUs, it takes approximately 23 days. This is quite a long time if we consider that pressures of only 60 to 70mmHg for between 30 and 240minutes are needed to cause tissue damage. On average, a small ulcer heals 12 days faster compared with those with a surface of 3.1 cm2 or greater. KEYWORDS: Stage II pressure ulcer, healing time, re-epithelialization

Aim of the paper The aim of the paper is to investigate the dynamic of the relationship between governance structure, entrepreneurial orientation (EO), and performance in Italian small and medium-enterprises (SMEs). Italian SMEs are characterized by governance structure in which ownership, board and top management often overlap. Several studies highlight how these features affect the strategy, the innovativeness, the risk-taking, and the financial and organizational performance. Governance structure appears to be a key factor in influencing the entrepreneurial orientation (EO) and consequently firm performance. The contribution to the literature Within the field of studies concerning the corporate governance of SMEs, the present work underlines the possibility to consider also the EO in the investigation of the existing relations between governance and performance of the enterprise. In the field of the literature on the entrepreneurship, this research supports the affirmation that the relationship between the EO and the performance is more complex than a simple direct relationship and underling the necessity to take into consideration also the effects produced by the inside characteristics of the enterprise. The methodology We used a survey data from 89 SMEs. For each company were measured dimensions of governance (GOV), entrepreneurial orientation (EO) and performance (PFR). Structural model with latent variables was applied; both the measurement model and structural model are simultaneously estimated by LISREL. For each hypothesis we calculated path coefficients and test statistical significance, and the resulting model’s goodness of fit indicated how model fit in the analysis. The results and implication The analysis of the results of the research highlight that the opening of the governance mechanisms to the extraneous subjects to both the family and the company, together with effective delegation processes of governance functions, constitutes a determinant key to the possible company results.
