The objective of this chapter is to teach the readers to learn to operate scanning of the adrenal glands and organs in retroperitoneal space, and recognize the image figures. The contents contain the scanning method, section structures, measuring method and normal, and clinical application value of the retroperitoneal space.There are the pancreas, duodenum, adrenal glands, kidneys, and large blood vessels in the retroperitoneal space. The patient’s position and preparation before examination, the location and direction of the transducer are described in the scanning methods. The scanning range includes the scans on upper abdomen, middle abdomen, and lower abdomen. Transversely, longitudinal and oblique scanning methods are introduced. The section structures show the location of every cavities of the retroperitoneal space and the landmark for judging the organs in the retroperitoneal space. The measuring methods and normal describe the specification requirement of measurements in standard section and the normal range.

Intense activity was noted in the right middle abdomen on whole-body Tc-MDP bone scan images, which were obtained in a 78-year-old woman who had back pain. Further SPECT/CT images demonstrated that the intense activity was located in an elongated gallbladder. Partially calcified gallstone was also revealed on SPECT/CT images. Unexpectedly, the gallbladder activity was from the radioactive bile inside the gallbladder lumen, whereas the partially calcified gallstone was relatively photopenic.

During pregnancy the uterus evolves considerably with dynamic changes related to both special and temporal processes – a process that is closely controlled by intrinsic and extrinsic regulatory mechanisms. The gravid organ extends from the pelvis and occupies the lower and middle abdomen. It undergoes changes in size and structure to accommodate itself to the needs of the growing embryo – “uterine conversion” (Reynolds 1949).

We present a case of subacute nonobstructing ileocolocolic intussusception secondary to a submucosal lipoma and a mobile cecum diagnosed sonographically in a 62-year-old woman. The patient was seen following a 2-month history of nonspecific intermittent pain in the right and middle abdomen and weight loss. Sonography revealed ongoing intussusception involving distal ascending and transverse colon. Analysis of the distal intussusception end demonstrated a 3.0 x 2.5 cm echogenic polypoid lesion consistent with a lipoma serving as a lead point. The sonographic diagnosis was confirmed at surgery.

EEG signals are collected with Phoenix Digital EEG with 128 channels, and compared with the ones before the subjects drink the coffee. Obvious differences have been found between them. The character of EEG is a wave crest of 38 Hz when the person is excited, and the height is about 200 muV. Then with the software of ASA 3 Course designed by ANT company of Germany, the location in brain is confirmed when a person gets excited. The region of the location in brain when a person is excited is focused in the area of the middle abdomen in the pons' side near to bulbar

Obvious differences have been found between them. And the character of EEG has a little differences when the subjects enjoyed different rhythm music. The character of EEG is 30 Hz when the subjects enjoyed Skating Waltz, the height of wave crest is about 200; the character of EEG is 32 Hz when the subjects enjoyed Radetzy-March, the height of wave crest is about 300-500; the character of EEG is 28 Hz and 38 Hz when the subjects enjoyed Disco music, the height of wave crest is about 200. Then using the software of ASA 3 Course designed by ANT company of Germany, the location in brain was confirmed when a person had excited. The region of the location in brain when a person was excited was focused in the area of the middle abdomen in the pons' side.

Publisher Summary This chapter presents illustrations that are likely to be of practical importance to those working with laboratory mice. The illustrations include the body regions, a simple demonstration of the skeleton, the muscles, and a dissection of the body cavities with description of major organs. The terminology used in the chapter is based on the international veterinary anatomical nomenclature published by Schaller, Constantinescu, Habel, Sack, Simoens, Vos (1992). In the chapter, in the figure captions, XY denotes male and XX denotes female. The figure caption lists the regions of the body such as the face, skull, neck, chest, back, pelvis, cranial abdomen, middle abdomen, caudal abdomen, forelimbs, and hindlimbs.

A 34-year-old tailor with no history of medical problems was referred to the emergency department approximately 3 hours after swallowing a sewing needle. Inspecting 200 patients with abdominal pain pelviscopically, we found adhesions and no other pathology in 62 (32%). Three groups were defined according to the extent of the adhesions. In 52 patients (84%), complete adhesiolysis was achieved pelviscopically. At discharge 3-5 days post-operatively, 38 of these patients (73%) were free from complaints; in 15%, the pain had lessened. 6 months after pelviscopy, the patients were again asked about their complaints. 39 (75%) of the patients with complete adhesiolysis answered the questionnaire. 15 (38%) were completely free from complaints after 6 months; in 8 others, the pain had lessened; in 60% of them, the abdominal pain had lasted for more than 6 months. Our results justify an attempt at complete adhesiolysis in all patients with abdominal pain, if adhesions are detected pelviscopically.
