Adult caddisflies were collected in the Opojë Region belonging to the Sharr Mountains in Kosovo from May to October 2013. This mountainous area which is known for many endemic and rare species of plants and animals is still not enough explored in terms of caddisfly fauna.A diverse fauna consisting of 11 families and 43 species was found. Three species found during this investigation are first records for the Kosovo caddisfly fauna: Limnephilus lunatus, Micropterna lateralis and Plectrocnemia geniculata. The stenoendemic species Chaetopteroides kosovarorum is found for the second time in Kosovo. Several other rare species were recorded during this investigation. The most interesting finding is species Plectrocnemia geniculata, which is very widespread in Opojë Region and at the same time this represents one of the rarest occurrences of this species in the Balkans.This study contributes to the knowledge of the caddisfly fauna of the Sharr Mountains and adds to the list of known caddisfly species from Kosovo.

The paper brings data about the new findings of the rare Mediterranean caddisfly species Micropterna wageneri Mal. in Croatia with first data of DNA barcoding for this species. The species is recorded in Konavle region and on the Mt. Biokovo. We also present the diversity of the genus Micropterna in Croatia and discuss issues related to the DNA barcoding for this genus in Croatia and Europe.

In this study, parasitosis due to Ophryoglena sp. (Ciliophora, Oligohymenophorea) in a Micropterna nycterobia (Trichoptera, Limnephilidae) female is described. The trichopteran was found on 31 October 2002 in a cave, named "Grotta di Monte Cucco," in Central Italy. The specimen, observed in vivo under the stereomicroscope, showed that its abdomen was packed with the ciliate. This parasite had fed on gonads, muscles and fat body of the host, thus confirming the role of Ophryoglena as a parasitic spayer. Different stages of development of the parasite were also detected. The interaction of the parasite with host tissues was investigated by means of light and electron microscopy.

The paper gives a description of the hitherto unknown larvae of Micropterna coiffaiti , Micropterna taurica , and Potamophylax goulandriorum (Trichoptera: Limnephilidae). Information on the morphology of the larvae is given and the most important diagnostic features are illustrated. In the context of published keys, the larva of Micropterna coiffaiti keys together with Micropterna sequax , Stenophylax mitis , and Stenophylax permistus . Species can be easily diagnosed by presence/absence and the structure of posterior sclerites at the lateral protuberances, by the extent of head spinule fields, and by the number of posterolateral setae on abdominal dorsum IX. Micropterna taurica keys together with Micropterna nycterobia . This pair can be separated by the setae posterior of the dorsal protuberance which are lacking in M. nycterobia but present in M. taurica . Finally, Potamophylax goulandriorum keys together with P. cingulatus , P. latipennis , and P. luctuosus . Currently it is not possible to separate this species quartet morphologically. With respect to distribution, M. coiffaiti which has been reported from the Eastern Aegean islands in Greece, the Levant, Turkey, and Cyprus, whereas M . taurica ranges from Bulgaria and Greece (Crete, Karpathos, mainland Greece) to Cyprus and Turkey. Potamophylax goulandriorum is known from mainland Greece and Macedonia only. In addition, ecological characteristics are briefly discussed, and a key to the hitherto known Stenophylacini larvae of European Ecoregion 6 (= Hellenic western Balkan region) is included.

A list of the known species of Trichoptera from Iran is given. Since MALICKY (1986), Hydroptila astraia, H.asteria, Chimarra zagrosensis and Hydropsyche iokaste has been newly described from Iran. New records for the country are Ithytrichia clavata, Pseudoneureclipsis graograman, Hydropsyche bitlis, Micropterna hatatitla and Adicella hakkariensis. The species Hydroptila simulans and Hydropsyche pellucidula could not be confirmed for the fauna of Iran.

A number of new species and new subspecies — Rhyacophila foliacea, R. italica, R. italica ilvana, Oxyethira hartigi, O. pirisinui, Hydroptila ruffoi, Wormaldia copiosa botosaneanui, W. mediana nielseni, W. pulla marlieri, W. variegata denisi, Polycentropus malickyi, Tinodes apuanorum, T. bruttius, Halesus radiatus vaillanti, Beraea botosaneanui, B. crichtoni, B. ilvae — are described and illustrated by a series of drawings. Others — Drusus aprutiensis, D. camerinus, Mesophylax aspersus sardous, Sericostoma cianficconii, S. italicum — are further described and the females of these species are reported for the first time. The previously unknown Halesus nurag Mal. and Micropterna wageneri Mal. females are also described. The Polycentropus listed as Polycentropus sp. Moretti (1941) in Limnofauna Europaea (1978) is now considered a good species and has been named P. sardous.

It is proposed that the following eleven species of British limnephilids belong to the category having a short flight period, without a diapause, in spring and summer, sometimes extending into autumn: Apatania muliebris McL., A. wallengreni McL., Drusus annulatus (STEPH.), Ecclisopteryx guttulata (PICT.), Limnephilus elegans CURT., L. extricatus McL., L. luridus CURT., Nemotaulius punctatolineatus (RETZ.), Rhadicoleptus alpestris (KOL.), Micropterna lateralis (STEPH.) and Hydatophylax infumatus (McL.). A revised scheme of classification of flight periods for British Limnephilidae is put forward.
