Glyphodes pyloalis Walker (G. pyloalis) is a common destructive mulberry pest. Due to the long-term and frequent use of insecticides, it has developed tolerance to commonly used insecticides. Tolfenpyrad (TFP) is a novel pyrazole heterocyclic insecticide. In order to understand the TFP detoxification mechanism of G. pyloalis larvae, we first estimated the LC 30 dose of TFP for 3 rd instar G. pyloalis larvae. Next, we identified genes that were differentially expressed in 3 rd instar G. pyloalis larvae treated with TFP compared to the control group by transcriptome sequencing. In total, 86,949,569 and 67,442,028 clean reads were obtained from TFP-treated and control G. pyloalis larvae, respectively. A total of 5588 differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were identified in TFP-treated and control G. pyloalis larvae, of which 3084 genes were upregulated and 2504 genes were downregulated. We analyzed the expression of 43 candidate detoxification enzyme genes associated with insecticide tolerance using qPCR. According to the spatiotemporal expression pattern of DEGs, we found that CYP6ABE1, CYP333A36 and GST-epsilon8 were highly expressed in the midgut, while CarEs14 was strongly expressed in haemolymph. Furthermore, we successfully knocked down these genes by RNA interference. After silencing CYP6ABE1 and CYP333A36, bioassay showed that the mortality rate of TFP-treated G. pyloalis larvae was significantly higher compared to the control group. This study provides a theoretical foundation for understanding the sensitivity of G. pyloalis to TFP and establish the basis for the effective and green management of this pest., (Copyright © 2023. In order to obtain the ammonia emission level and space-time distribution characteristics of the poultry production industry in the Yangtze River Delta, an online high-resolution monitoring system was used to continuously monitor the atmospheric ammonia concentration in the breeding house and compost shed in a typical large-scale layer farm. By obtaining the ammonia emission level and emission factor during each growth stage, we established the localized ammonia emission inventory for the poultry production industry in the Yangtze River Delta. The results showed that the average daily ρ (NH 3 ) in the breeding house and compost shed for spring, summer, autumn, and winter were (1.85±0.38), (4.58±0.33), (3.87±0.12), and (2.83±0.47) mg·m -3 and (2.04±0.50), (4.04±1.04), (2.51±0.67), and (1.55±0.16) mg·m -3 respectively. Ammonia emissions showed a significant daily hourly change trend. The highest hourly ammonia concentration in the layer house appeared from 13:00-14:00 in the afternoon, and the minimum appeared from 01:00-03:00 in the morning. The highest hourly ammonia concentration in the compost shed occurred between 16:00-19:00 in summer and autumn, whereas the diurnal changes in spring and winter were not significant. Hourly changes in ammonia emissions during the day were mainly affected by daily temperature, poultry activities, and manure management. Ammonia concentrations at different growth stages of laying hens showed significant differences. ρ (NH 3 ) from young chickens, laying hens, and pre-eliminated chickens were (1.85±0.38), (2.83±0.47), and (1.61±0.32) mg·m -3 , respectively. The ammonia emission rate from laying hens reached 1.53 times and 1.65 times that of young chickens and pre-eliminated chickens, respectively. Metabolism levels and feed intake at different growth stages were the main reasons for the differences in ammonia emissions. Ammonia emission factors for the layer house and compost shed in spring, summer, autumn, and winter were (0.13±0.02), (0.54±0.01), (0.39±0.01), and (0.17±0.01) g·(bird·d) -1 and (0.07±0.01), (0.17±0.02), (0.08±0.01), and (0.04±0.01) g·(bird·d) -1 , respectively. Annual ammonia emission factors reached (0.11±0.06) kg·(bird·a) -1 and (0.03±0.02) kg·(bird·a) -1 , respectively. Our results suggest that ambient temperature, ventilation mode, chicken house type, and manure removal frequency were the main influencing factors of ammonia emissions from poultry production. The uncertainty ranges of the ammonia emission coefficients reached±122%,±79%, and±74%, and±56%, respectively. Great uncertainties were generated when empirical emission factors were used for emission inventory establishment. Based on the results of online monitoring, model simulation, and literature analysis, we established an ammonia emission inventory for the poultry production industry within the Yangtze River Delta region by adopting the emission factors of (0.16±0.08) kg·(bird·a) -1 . In 2019, the total ammonia emission from poultry production was (108.81±54.41) kt. In terms of spatial distribution, ammonia emission intensities in the northern regions were significantly higher than those in the southern parts. The ammonia emission intensities during summer were 3.38-3.56 times higher than those in spring and winter.

To study the characteristics and reduction potential of the ammonia emissions of a crop rotation system in the Yangtze River Delta, we monitored and compared the ammonia fluxes from two rotation systems:a conventional rice/winter wheat rotation system and a rice-shrimp cultivation/Chinese milk vetch rotation system. This study was conducted through closing chamber methods to investigate the influencing factors and transformation mechanism of ammonium emissions between the two studied cultivation patterns. Additionally, we established the temporal-spatial emission inventory by sorting out the local ammonia emission factors of farmland in the Yangtze River Delta in the last ten years. The emission reduction effects under different ammonia emission reduction paths were also obtained. The results showed that, the cumulative amount of ammonia emissions throughout the whole monitoring year for the conventional rice/winter wheat rotation system (CR-W) and the rice-shrimp cultivation/Chinese milk vetch rotation system (RS-C) were 65.95 and 20.31 kg·hm -2 , respectively, whereas the ammonia loss rates of CR-W and RS-C were 10.86% and 9.20%, respectively. Field surface water NH 4 + -N, field surface water pH, and topsoil NH 4 + -N were the major internal factors of ammonia emissions from paddy fields, whereas topsoil NH 4 + -N and atmospheric temperature had an important impact on ammonia emissions in the wheat season. The ammonia flux/field NH 4 + -N ratio (ARN) of field surface water under the CR and RS modes in the rice season reached 0.35±0.27 and 0.14±0.19, respectively, which was 10-25 times that of topsoil in the wheat season, such that the ammonia emission flux in the rice season was significantly higher than that in the wheat season. Under the conditions of high field water pH (8.0-9.0), atmospheric temperature (>28℃), and wind speed (>5.0 m·s -1 ), the ammonia flux/field NH 4 + -N ratios (ARN) were around 1.6-4.6 times that under low pH, temperature, and wind speed conditions, indicating that those three factors were the main factors affecting the conversion of NH 4 + -N from farmland to atmospheric NH 3 . Fertilization types also had significant effects on ARN; under different conditions, the ARN of urea was 1.5-5.5 times that of organic fertilizer. In 2019, the ammonia emission flux of rice and wheat under a conventional planting pattern in the Yangtze River Delta were (49.2±17.6) kg·hm -2 and (16.0±13.5) kg·hm -2 , respectively, whereas the ammonia loss rates of rice and wheat were (20.1±5.7)% and (5.9±3.6)%, respectively. The ammonia emission loss rate of the former was about three times that of the latter. The ammonia emission inventory built by local factors shows that the total ammonia emissions of the farmland rotation system in the Yangtze River Delta reached (400.3±206.4) kt in 2019, which was mainly concentrated in the central and northern regions of Anhui province and Jiangsu province, and the ammonia emission intensity reached (1.33±1.39) t·km -2 . The selection of different emission factors had a relatively large impact on the change range of the inventory results, reaching the standard of -51.6%~51.6%. Through combing and analyzing the six main paths of ammonia emission reduction in farmland, it was found that nitrogen fertilizer synergism was the best way to reduce ammonia emissions, with the efficiency of (30.9±51.4)%; however, the grain yield increase rate was (-4.2±17.4)%, with great uncertainty. The ammonia emission reduction effect of adding soil additives was relatively poor (-5.4±45.1)%; however, the grain yield increase rate was the highest among those of the six emission reduction paths, reaching (6.8±23.9)%. The ammonia emission reduction effect and grain yield increase rate of the ecological planting and breeding mode were (22.3±15.1)% and (5.6±3.8)%, respectively, which had the advantages of reducing ammonia emissions and increasing crop yield.

Objective: To evaluate the clinical value of inflammation-related markers in predicting the prognosis of patients with ureteral urothelial carcinoma., Methods: 200 patients with ureteral urothelial carcinoma were randomly divided into two groups by split sample validation: modeling group and validation group. Paraffin embedded pathological specimens of the patients were reviewed. Immunohistochemical method was used to detect tumor-infiltrating neutrophil (TIN) (CD66b + ), tumor-associated macrophage (TAM) (CD163 + ), lymphocyte (CD + , CD4 + , CD8 + ) counts, peripheral blood neutrophil / lymphocyte ratio (NLR) and tumor tissue neutrophil/monocyte ratio (NMR). According to the results of pathological staging, the patients were divided into non-muscle-invasive and muscle-invasive ureteral urothelial carcinoma group. The resolution of the models was evaluated, and the prognostic nomogram models including only peripheral blood parameters and all parameters were established to compare the accuracy of the two models in predicting the prognosis of patients with urothelial carcinoma of the ureter., Results: The median follow-up time was 36 months, the progression-free survival was 40 months, and 42 cases (21.0%) showed tumor progression within 3 years. Tumor size, pathological stage and pathological grade were all single-factor variables predicting the first recurrence of ureteral urothelial carcinoma three years after operation. Tumor size, pathological stage, pathological grade, TIN, TAM, NLR and NMR were multi-factor variables predicting the first recurrence three years after operation. Among 104 cases of non-muscle-invasive ureteral urothelial carcinoma, 10 cases (9.6%) recurred for the first time 3 years after operation, 96 cases (33.3%) of muscle invasive ureteral urothelial carcinoma, and the diffe-rence between the two groups was statistically significant ( χ 2 =15.53, P < 0.05). The predictive nomogram model of progression free survival was established. The concordance index of progression free survi-val was 0.722 (95% CI : 0.70-0.78) in non-muscle-invasion group, and 0.725 (95% CI : 0.71-0.79) in muscle-invasion group, which was in good agreement with the observed 3-year survival rate. The results of discrimination test showed that the concordance index of the whole parameter prediction model of ureteral urothelial carcinoma was 0.726, which was higher than that of peripheral blood parameters (consistency index 0.672). The immune microenvironment of ureteral urothelial carcinoma improved the prediction accuracy of the model., Conclusion: The prognosis prediction model based on immune inflammation-related markers was established as a perfection and supplement for the existing pathological grading and staging system, providing a basis for accurate individualized treatment of patients with urete-ral urothelial carcinoma. The prognosis prediction model based on the relevant indicators of peripheral blood samples is established, which is easy to obtain specimens, and the detection method is simple and economical, which is more conducive to clinical application.

Objective: To explore the outcomes of surgical treatment of sacral neurogenic tumors, Methods: Between 1 January 2003 and 31 December 2012, data on 64 patients with sacral neurogenic tumors treated with surgery were retrospectively analyzed. The mean age of the 64 cases (35 males and 29 females) was 37.2 years (range, 21-69 years); 38 had neurilemmomas and 26 neurofibromas. Thirty-four of the tumors involved S 1 and S 2 , 11 S 3 or lower, and 19 were single presacral soft tissue masses. Tumors were removed via anterior, posterior or combined anteroposterior approaches. Patients with unstable sacroiliac joints underwent iliolumbar fixation., Results: Depending on the extent of tumor involvement, one of three surgical approaches was used: a single anterior approach (19 patients), single posterior approach (25 patients), or a combined anteroposterior approach (20 patients). The mean operation time was 3 h (range, 2-6 h) and the mean blood loss 878 mL (range, 400-3120 mL). The mean duration of follow-up was 58.2 months (range, 24-93 months). These surgeries had the following complications. Three patients had massive intraoperative hemorrhage and posterior back pain and discomfort postoperatively. One patient had intraoperative ureteral injuries requiring intraoperative ureteral catheterization. In two patients, the tumor involved the S 1 nerve roots bilaterally, necessitating their removal, which resulted in obvious lower limb motion and sphincteric dysfunction. In 13 patients with unilateral tumor involvement of the nerve roots of S 1 and lower spinal levels, only the contralateral nerve roots of the S1 and lower levels were preserved; eight of these patients had impaired bladder and bowel function. Posterior incisions failed to heal in 10 patients, secondary wound healing occurred in nine of them and one required a gluteus maximus myocutaneous flap. Three patients developed postoperative cerebrospinal fluid leaks that were and alleviated by waist belt compression bandaging and placing them in the Trendelenburg position. Eight patients developed tumor recurrences postoperatively; pathological examination of the tissue excised in the second surgeries revealed malignant changes in the three patients with neurilemmomas. There were no intraoperative deaths. Rod fractures occurred in three of the 18 patients requiring iliolumbar reconstruction., Conclusions: The clinical characteristics of sacral neurogenic tumors make them easy to diagnose. The approach to resection should be determined by the location and size of the tumor. Xanthogranulomatous cystitis is a rare, benign chronic inflammatory disorder with unclear etiology. Since its similar features to bladder neoplasm, it is extremely easy to be mistaken for malignant tumor. We herein reported a case of xanthogranulomatous cystitis in a 54-year-old male who presented with low abdominal pain and painless, total macrohematuria. Microscopy showed proliferation of large foam histiocytes which expressed CD68 and vimentin. Ki-67 showed a lower proliferation index (< 10%). Histopathology and immunohistochemical findings confirmed the diagnosis. This case highlighted the significance of recognizing this unusual lesion and differentiating it from its histological mimics by immunohistochemical staining.

Objective: To observe the differences in bispectral index (BIS) in unconscious patients with acute brain injury due to different pathogenic factors, and approach its clinical significance., Methods: A retrospective study was conducted. One hundred and twenty-two unconscious patients with acute brain injured admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) from March 2009 to August 2012 were involved. According to the pathogenic factors, all patients were divided into direct injury group (n=66) and indirect injury group (n=56). Based on BIS value, all patients were divided into the BIS<60 group (n=80) and the BIS≥60 group (n=42). The BIS was continuously measured for 12 hours during the first 3 days, or 24 hours after stoppage of sedative after admission to ICU. The mean value of BIS (BISmean) was evaluated. The acute physiology and chronic health evaluationII (APACHEII) score, probability of survival (PS) and Glasgow coma score (GCS) were recorded. On the same day, the serum protein S100 and neuron-specific enolase (NSE) were determined. The mortality and the rate of the poor neurological outcome were analyzed., Results: (1) There were no significant differences in the age, sex, APACHEII score, PS and days of stay in ICU between the direct and indirect injury groups. (2) BISmean and GCS in direct injury group were significantly lower than those of the indirect injury group [BISmean: 39.0 (2.5, 58.0) vs. 59.0 (42.0, 71.0), GCS score: 3 (3, 5) vs. 4 (3, 6), both P<0.01], while serum S100 levels was significantly higher [2.30 (0.75, 6.66) mg/L vs. 0.84 (0.40, 3.62) mg/L, P<0.01]. There was no significant difference in the NSE level between the direct and indirect injury groups. (3) The mortality rate and poor neurological outcome rate in BIS<60 group were significantly higher than the BIS≥60 group (mortality rate: 67.50% vs. 40.48%, poor neurological outcome rate: 86.25% vs. 66.67%, P<0.01 and P<0.05). In the BIS<60 group, there were no significant differences in the mortality and poor neurological outcome rate between direct and indirect injury group., Conclusions: There are differences in pathogenic factors, the injury mechanism, and the degree of the brain injury between the direct and indirect injury groups. BIS monitoring could help judge the degree of different kinds of brain injury. BIS<60 indicates poor prognosis and neurological outcome in spite of the inducing factor of brain injury.

Objective: To study the expressions of Integrinalpha2beta1 and CD133 in benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) complicated by prostatitis and their significance., Methods: Specimens were obtained from 56 BPH patients undergoing transvesical prostatectomy. Paraffin sections of the specimens were subjected to HE staining for pathological examination of inflammatory changes under the light microscope. Twenty-four patients with simple BPH were included in Group A, and the other 32 with BPH complicated with prostatitis in Group B. The expressions of Integrinalpha2beta1 and CD133 in the prostatic tissues of the two groups were determined by immunohistochemistry, Western blotting and IPP6.0 image analysis software., Results: The expressions of Integrinalpha2beta1 and CD133 were significantly higher in Group B than in A (P < 0.05), and so were the mean relative value of the optical density of Integrinalpha2beta1 (0.29 +/- 0.18 vs 0.04 +/- 0.03) and that of CD133 (0.08 +/- 0.07 vs 0.0020 +/- 0.0018) (P < 0.05)., Conclusion: Inflammation can up-regulate the expressions of Integrinalpha2beta1 and CD133 in BPH tissue.

Objective: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of Chinese medicinal shensongyangxin capsules in the treatment of paroxysmal atrial fibrillation., Methods: From August 2007 to July 2008, Beijing Chaoyang Hospital conducted a multicenter study, select the eleven hospital's outpatient subjects, aged 18 to 75 years old, male or female, paroxysmal atrial fibrillation (at least one electrocardiogram diagnosis) seizure frequency ≥ 2 times/month, according to the ratio 1:1:1, subjects were randomly divided into three groups: a. shensongyangxin group, taking shensongyangxin capsule 4 + propafenone analogues 150 mg, 3 times a day; b. propafenone group, taking propafenone tablets 150 mg + 4 shensongyangxin analogues, 3 times a day; shensongyangxin capsule + propafenone group, taking shensongyangxin capsule 4 + propafenone 150 mg, 3 times a day. The treatment course is 8 weeks, with 3 times of follow-up., Results: Total of 349 cases of paroxysmal atrial fibrillation, which 117 cases in shensongyangxin group, 115 cases in propafenone group; 117 cases in shensongyangxin + propafenone group. The baseline data analysis showed that there were no significantly difference (P > 0.05) among the three groups of atrial fibrillation seizure frequency, vital signs, general condition, medical history, 24-hour ambulatory ECG, 12-lead normal electrocardiogram, cardiac ultrasound and symptoms. The comparison before and after (8 weeks) treatment showed that the frequency (from 6 times/m to 2 times/m in each group, P < 0.01), number of cases [from 46 (43.3%) to 22 (20.8%), 43 (43.4%) to 25 (25.3%), and 40 (40.6%) to 31 (29.2%), respectively P < 0.01] and duration time of attack of atrial fibrillation (from 4 h to 0.5 h, 4 h to 0.5 h, and 4.25 h to 0.5 h, respectively P < 0.01) all decreased in three groups. No significant difference among the three groups comparing the overall effect (62.3%, 58.6%, and 58.5%, respectively, P > 0.05), while the efficacy of TCM symptoms in shensongyangxin group (80.2%) was better than that of propafenone group (67.7%) (P < 0.05). Safety evaluation showed that adverse reaction rate was 1.8% in shensongyangxin group, and 8.2% and 5.4% in propafenone group and shensongyangxin + propafenone group., Conclusion: Shensongyangxin capsules and propafenone have comparable efficacies in the treatment of PAF. The efficacy of TCM symptoms is better than propafenone. Shensongyangxin capsules have an excellent profile of safety.

Objective: To discuss the effect of continuous monitoring of bispectral index (BIS) on the prognosis of patients with acute brain injury., Methods: A retrospective study was carried out, 61 patients with acute brain injury admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) from March 2009 to July 2010 were divided into survival group (n=25) and death group (n=36). The BIS was continuously monitored for 12 hours within the first 3 days or 24 hours after stoppage of sedative after admission to ICU. The mean value of BIS (BISmean), the maximal value of BIS (BISmax), and the minimal value of BIS (BISmin) were evaluated. At the same time, the acute physiology and chronic health evaluationII (APACHEII) score, probability of survival (PS) and Glasgow coma score (GCS) were evaluated. The values of serum S100 protein and neuron-specific enolase (NSE) were determined. The relationship between BISmean and GCS, S100 protein and NSE were respectively analyzed., Results: (1)There was no significant difference in the sex, age, or duration of mechanical ventilation between two groups. APACHEII score in death group was significantly higher than the survival group (27.36±5.99 vs. 23.28±6.69), PS was significantly lower than the survival group (0.31±0.17 vs. 0.49±0.19), and length of stay in ICU (days) was significantly lower than that of the survival group (6.33±4.48 vs. 27.88±54.46), P<0.05 or P<0.01. (2) BISmean, BISmax, BISmin, GCS in death group were significantly lower than those in the survival group (BISmean: 35.45±28.31 vs. 55.91±17.53, BISmax: 51.92±34.24 vs. 74.84±16.58, BISmin: 22.39±24.83 vs. 39.68±15.72, GCS score: 3.64±1.19 vs. 5.60±2.22), P<0.05 or P<0.01, while serum S100 protein and NSE levels were significantly higher than the survival group [S100 protein (μg/L): 7.54±10.49 vs. 1.18±1.57, NSE (μg/L): 120.74±109.01 vs. 49.83±54.94], both P<0.01. (3) By bivariate analysis, BISmean was positively correlated with GCS (r=0.379, P=0.003), whereas it was found to be negatively correlated with S100 protein and NSE levels (r₁=-0.418, P₁=0.001; r₂=-0.290, P₂=0.023)., Conclusion: BIS monitoring can be applied as an early objective indicator to evaluate the prognosis of the acute brain injured patients with the characteristics of being noninvasive, intuitive, easy-to-manipulate, and non-stop monitoring.

Objective: To investigate the prognostic value of serum neuron specific enolase (NSE) and S100 protein in evaluation of brain damage in patients resuscitated from cardiac arrest (CA)., Methods: According to whether the patients regained consciousness after 6 months or not, 25 patients after cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) were divided into 2 groups, and blood samples were obtained for determination of NSE and S100 protein at 2, 12, 24, 48 and 72 hours after recovery of spontaneous circulation (ROSC), then the values at each time point were compared between 2 groups and also with that of 7 healthy volunteers. Receiver operator characteristic (ROC) curves of serum NSE and S100 protein were depicted and used area under curve (AUS) to scale the ability in evaluating the state of consciousness in patients after CPR., Results: (1)The levels of serum NSE at 12, 48 and 72 hours and S100 protein at 2, 12, 48 and 72 hours were significantly higher in patients who did not regain consciousness compared with patients who regained consciousness (all P<0.01). (2)Compared with healthy volunteers, the levels of NSE at 12 and 24 hours and S100 protein at 12 hours were higher in patients who regained consciousness (all P<0.05), the levels of NSE at all time points and S100 protein at 12, 48 and 72 hours were significantly higher in patients who did not regain consciousness (P<0.05 or P<0.01). (3)Area under curve AUC(NSE) =0.848 (P=0.000), AUC(S100) =0.896 (P=0.000), therefore both serum NSE and S100 protein had diagnostic value for predicting whether patients resuscitated from CA could regain consciousness or not. Serum S100 protein cut-off was 0.165 microg/L, with a sensitivity of 94.4%, a specificity of 100%, a positive predictive value of 100%, a negative predictive value of 80% and an accuracy of 95.5% at 2 hours after ROSC. Serum NSE cut-off was 45.6 microg/L, all values reached 100% 48 hours after ROSC., Conclusion: Measurement of serum NSE and S100 protein concentrations can help judge the degree of brain damage and whether patients can regain consciousness after CPR. It will be more valuable to prognosticate a serious and continuous brain damage with dynamic observation of the serum NSE together with S100 protein.
