Abstract

Polycrystalline [Fe.sub.3][O.sub.4] films are deposited on the p-Si wafers by using reactive sputtering to form the polycrystalline [Fe.sub.3][O.sub.4]/p-Si heterostructures. The current-dependent magnetoresistance (MR) has crossed from negative to positive with different manners for the forward and reverse currents, where the MR is caused by the rectifying effect and band structure of the [Fe.sub.3][O.sub.4] near the interface of the heterostructures.

Abstract

A study was conducted to analyze the epitaxy of the [Fe.sub.3][O.sub.4] film on MgO (100) using x-ray diffraction, including conventional [theta] -2[theta] scan, tilting 2[theta] scan, [theta] scan, and pole figure. Findings reveal that magnetocrystalline anisotropy causes an increase in magnetoresistance below Verwey transition temperature.

Abstract

The article explains the enhanced hall effect, which is observed in the [Fe.sub.x][Ge.sub.1-x] nanocomposite films that are composed of nanoscale Fe grains embedded in amorphous Ge matrix. An increase in the Fe atomic fraction x is shown to change the transport mechanism of the films from a semiconducting to metallic character.

Abstract

The microstructure, magnetic and optical properties of polycrystalline Mn-doped ZnO films is investigated. The analysis has shown that Mn doping might improve the growth of ZnO (002) orientation without Mn oxide formation and all the films are ferromagnetic with a Curie temperature of above 350 K.
