Motivated by the work of David Singmaster, we study the number of times an integer can appear among the Stirling numbers of both kinds. We provide an upper bound for the occurrences of all the positive integers, and present certain questions for further study. Some numerical results and conjectures concerning the related diohantine equations are collected.

Extensions of a set partition obtained by imposing bounds on the size of the parts and the coloring of some of the elements are examined. Combinatorial properties and the generating functions of some counting sequences associated with these partitions are established. Connections with Riordan arrays are presented.

Based on a Problem and its solution published on the pages of SIAM Review, we give an interesting integral representation for the Lambert $W$ function in this short note. In particular, our result yields a new integral representation for the $\Omega=W(1)$ constant as well.

The classical derangement numbers count fixed point-free permutations. In this paper we study the enumeration problem of generalized derangements, when some of the elements are restricted to be in distinct cycles in the cycle decomposition. We find exact formula, combinatorial relations for these numbers as well as analytic and asymptotic description. In this paper we introduce the $p$-adic analogue of the Lambert $W$ function, and study its main properties.

In this paper some new series and integral representations for the Tur\'anian of modified Bessel functions of the first kind are given, which give new asymptotic expansions and tight bounds for the Tur\'an determinant in the question. It is shown that in the case of natural and real order the Tur\'anian can be represented in a relatively compact form, which yields a uniform upper bound for the Tur\'an determinant for modified Bessel functions of the first kind. Our results complement and improve some of the results from the literature.

In this paper we determine the Fourier series expansion of the log-Barnes function. This is the analogue of the classical result of Kummer and Malmsten. Applying this expansion we get some integrals similar to the Espinosa-Moll log-Gamma integrals with respect to $\log G$. During the course of the paper some interesting log-Gamma integrals and a log-harmonic sum are evaluated.

Tur\'an type inequalities for modified Bessel functions of the first kind are used to deduce some sharp lower and upper bounds for the asymptotic order parameter of the stochastic Kuramoto model. Moreover, approximation from the Lagrange inversion theorem and a rational approximation are given for the asymptotic order parameter., Comment: 10 pages, 3 figures

By using the associated and restricted Stirling numbers of the second kind, we give some generalizations of the poly-Bernoulli numbers. We also study their arithmetical and combinatorial properties. As an application, at the end of the paper we present a new infinite series representation of the Riemann zeta function via the Lambert $W$.

In this paper we review the physical applications of the generalized Lambert function recently defined by the first author. Among these applications we mention the eigenstate anomaly of the $H_2^+$ ion, the two dimensional two-body problem in general relativity, the stability analysis of delay differential equations and water-wave applications. It is known that the $S(n,k)$ Stirling numbers as well as the ordered Stirling numbers $k!S(n,k)$ form log-concave sequences. Although in the first case there are many estimations about the mode, for the ordered Stirling numbers such estimations are not known. In this short note we study this problem and some of its generalizations.

We investigate the coefficients of the polynomial \[ S_{m,r}^n(\ell)=r^n+(m+r)^n+(2m+r)^n+\cdots+((\ell-1)m+r)^n. \] We prove that these can be given in terms of Stirling numbers of the first kind and $r$-Whitney numbers of the second kind. Moreover, we prove a necessary and sufficient condition for the integrity of these coefficients.

Little is known about the zeros of the Digamma function. Establishing some Weierstrassian infinite product representations for a given regularization of the Digamma function we find interesting sums of its zeros. In addition, we study the same questions for the zeros of the logarithmic derivative of the Barnes $G$ function. At the end of the paper we provide rather accurate approximations of the hyperfactorial where, rather interestingly, the Lambert function appears.

Geometric properties of the Jackson and Hahn-Exton $q$-Bessel functions are studied. For each of them, three different normalizations are applied in such a way that the resulting functions are analytic in the unit disk of the complex plane. For each of the six functions we determine the radii of starlikeness and convexity precisely by using their Hadamard factorization. These are $q$-generalizations of some known results for Bessel functions of the first kind. The characterization of entire functions from the Laguerre-P\'olya class via hyperbolic polynomials play an important role in this paper. Moreover, the interlacing property of the zeros of Jackson and Hahn-Exton $q$-Bessel functions and their derivatives is also useful in the proof of the main results. We also deduce a sufficient and necessary condition for the close-to-convexity of a normalized Jackson $q$-Bessel function and its derivatives. The Lambert $W$ function, giving the solutions of a simple transcendental equation, has become a famous function and arises in many applications in combinatorics, physics, or population dyamics just to mention a few. In the last decade it turned out that some specific relativistic equations and molecular physics problems need solutions of more general transcendental equations. Thus a generalization of the Lambert function is necessary. In 1962 O. A. Gross proved that the last digits of the Fubini numbers (or surjective numbers) have a simple periodicity property. We extend this result to a wider class of combinatorial numbers coming from restricted set partitions.

We study three different $q$-analogues of the harmonic numbers. As applications, we present some generating functions involving number theoretical functions and give the $q$-generalization of Gosper's exponential generating function of harmonic numbers. We involve also the $q$-gamma and $q$-digamma function.

Using the duplication formulas of the elliptic trigonometric functions of Gosper, we deduce some new special values for the first two Jacobi theta functions. At the end of the paper, we show how is it possible to extend our arguments and deduce a wide variety of additional special values for the Jacobi thetas. In addition, an identity is revealed between these functions and the Weber modular function.

We generalize the Raabe-formula to the $q$-loggamma function. As a consequence, we get that the integral of the logarithm of the fourth Jacobi theta function between its least imaginary zeros is connected to the partition function and the Riemann zeta function., Comment: Submitted to Journal of Number Theory

The notion of generalized Bell numbers has appeared in several works but there is no systematic treatise on this topic. In this paper we fill this gap. We discuss the most important combinatorial, algebraic and analytic properties of these numbers which generalize the similar properties of the Bell numbers. Most of these results seem to be new. It turns out that in a paper of Whitehead these numbers appeared in a very different context. In addition, we introduce the so-called $r$-Bell polynomials.

The powers of matrices with Stirling number-coefficients are investigated. It is revealed that the elements of these matrices have a number of properties of the ordinary Stirling numbers. Moreover, "higher order" Bell, Fubini and Eulerian numbers can be defined. Hence we give a new interpretation for E. T. Bell's iterated exponential integers. It was proven in 1915 by Leopold Theisinger that the $H_n$ harmonic numbers are never integers. In 1996 Conway and Guy have defined the concept of hyperharmonic numbers. The question naturally arises: are there any integer hyperharmonic numbers? In this work, we introduce a symmetric algorithm obtained by the recurrence relation a_{n}^{k}=a_{n-1}^{k}+a_{n}^{k-1}. We point out that this algorithm can be apply to hyperharmonic-, ordinary and incomplete Fibonacci- and Lucas numbers. An explicit formulae for hyperharmonic numbers, general generating functions of the Fibonacci- and Lucas numbers are obtained. Besides we define "hyperfibonacci numbers", "hyperlucas numbers". Using these new concepts, some relations between ordinary and incomplete Fibonacci- and Lucas numbers are investigated., Comment: 16 pages

We prove that the generating polynomials of partitions of an $n$-element set into non-singleton blocks, counted by the number of blocks, have real roots only and we study the asymptotic behavior of the leftmost roots.
