Background: Valveless trocars like AirSeal system are maintain a stable pneumoperitoneum and reduce instrument friction. Case presentation: A 65-year-old man's robotic radical cystectomy was complicated by a missing needle while using AirSeal system. The needle was detected via backward inspection using the endo camera inserted through the trocar, tip at its most distal end let the visualization of the needle within the air channels and confirmed with a trocar X-ray. Conclusion: Our findings suggest that retrograde inspection and targeted radiography of the trocar, prior to patient imaging, can be helpful in locating the lost needle and prevent prolongation of surgeries.

Objective: This study aimed to assess the urethrovesical anastomotic leakage (UAL) and associated factors in patients who underwent robot-assisted radical prostatectomy (RARP) and its effect on early continence. Material and Methods: The data of 81 patients who underwent RARP between February 2017 and June 2022 were evaluated in this retrospective analysis. On the seventh postoperative day, we performed a cystography to determine whether the patients had UAL. Uni- and multivariate analyses were done to investigate the factors that could lead to UAL. Continence rates were recorded in patients at 6-12 weeks after surgery. Results: Overall 25 patients (31%) had UAL; of them 12 (15%) were mild, eight (10%) were moderate, and five (6%) were extensive. A drain/ serum creatinine ratio >1.5 and a prostate volume >53 cm3 were determined to be significant in predicting UAL in both the uni- and multivariate analyses (p=0.017 and p=0.046, respectively). On the postoperative second or third day, of the 36 patients who had drain output greater than 100 ml, eight (22%) had a high drain/serum creatinine ratio (>1.5), seven (88%) of which had UAL. According to the early period follow-up data, incontinence was prevalent in 9 (36%) of the patients with UAL and 20 (%37) of the patients without UAL (p=0.959). Conclusion: Cystography is an effective method for detecting leakage after RARP. A large prostate volume (>53 cm3) and a high postoperative drain/serum creatinine ratio (>1.5) were found to be associated with UAL. UAL had no effect on early continence. Abstract Background Although pathological factors remain the main determinate of survival for patients with bladder cancer, quality of surgical care is crucial for satisfactory outcomes. Using a validated quality score, we investigated the impact of surgical factors on the overall survival (OS), recurrence-free survival (RFS) and disease-specific survival (DSS) in patients with locally advanced and organ-confined disease (OCD). Retrospective review of IRCC database includes 2460 patients from 29 institutions across 11 countries. The final cohort included 1343 patients who underwent RARCs between 2005 and 2016. Patients with locally advanced disease (LAD) (> pT2 and/or N +) were compared with OCD (≤ pT2/N0). Validated Quality Cystectomy Score (QCS) based on four sets of quality metrics was used to compare surgical performance. Kaplan–Meier method was used to compute RFS, CSS and OS rates. Multivariable stepwise logistic regression was used to evaluate variables associated with RFS, DSS and OS. Results 48% had LAD. ABSTRACT Introduction: To evaluate the influence of previous experience as bedside assistants on patient selection, perioperative and pathological results in robot assisted laparoscopic radical prostatectomy. Materials and Methods: The first 50 cases of two robotic surgeons were reviewed retrospectively. Group 1 consisted of the first 50 cases of the surgeon with previous experience as a robotic bedside assistant between September 2016-July 2018, while Group 2 included the first 50 cases of the surgeon with no bedside assistant experience between February 2009-December 2009. Groups were examined in terms of demographics, prostate volume, presence of median lobe, prostate specific antigen (PSA), preoperative Gleason score, positive core number, clinical stage, console surgery time, estimated blood loss, postoperative Gleason score, pathological stage, positive surgical margin rate, postoperative complications, length of hospital stay and biochemical recurrence rate. Results: Previous abdominal surgery and the presence of median lobe hypertrophy rates were higher in Group 1 than in Group 2 (20% vs. 4%, p=0.014; 24% vs. 6%, p=0.012; respectively). In addition, patients in Group 1 were in a higher clinical stage than those in Group 2 (cT2: 70% vs. 28%, p=0.001). Median console surgery time and median length of hospital stay was significantly shorter in Group 1 than in Group 2 (170 min vs. 240 min, p=0.001; 3 vs. 4, p=0.022; respectively). Clavien grade 3 complication rate was higher in Group 2 but was statistically insignificant. Conclusion: Our findings might reflect that previous bedside assistant experience led to an increase in self-confidence and the ability to manage troubleshooting and made it more likely for surgeons to start with more difficult cases with more challenging patients. It is recommended that novice surgeons serve as bedside assistants before moving on to consoles.

Amaç: Bu çalışmada renal hücreli karsinom (RHK) nedeniyle radikal ve parsiyel nefrektomi yapılan hastaların evrelere göre onkolojik sonuçlarının karşılaştırılması amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaçla klinikopatolojik özelliklerin rekürrenssiz sağkalım ve kansere özgü sağkalım üzerine etkileri incelendi. Materyal-Metod: 2004-2012 tarihleri arasında renal kitle nedeniyle kliniğimizde parsiyel/radikal nefrektomi uygulanan T3a ve altındaki 200 hastanın verilerini retrospektif olarak inceledik. Klinikopatolojik özelliklerin sağkalımlara üzerine istatistiksel etkileri olup olmadığı Log-Rank testi kullanılarak Kaplan Meier sağkalım analizi ile değerlendirildi. Her bir değişkene ilişkin 1- 3 ve 5 yıllık sağkalım hızları, ortalama yaşam süresi ve bu süreyle ilişkili %95 güven aralıkları hesaplandı. Bulgular: Tüm olgular içerisinde 1- 3 ve 5 yıllık rekürrenssiz sağkalım % 95.5, 90.5 ve 85.5, kansere özgü sağkalım % 98.8, 96.4 ve 92.3 olarak tespit edildi. PN grubunda RN grubuna göre rekürrenssiz sağkalım istatistiksel olarak daha yüksekti (p=0,014) ama kansere özgü sağkalımda fark gözlenmedi. Evrelere göre T1a, T1b ve T3a’ da rekürrrenssiz sağkalım ve kansere özgü sağkalım T2a ve T2b’ den daha yüksekti (p=0,023 ve p lt;0,001). T1a ve T1b evrelerinde 1- 3 ve 5 yıllık rekürrenssiz sağkalım ve kansere özgü sağkalım benzer olarak bulundu ve klinikopatolojik özelliklerle istatistiksel olarak ilişki tespit edilmedi. Tüm olgular içerisinde patolojik tümör boyutu (p=0,026) ve diğer (Toplayıcı kanal karsinomu) histolojinin (p lt;0,001) rekürrenssiz sağkalımı etkilediği görüldü. Tüm olgular içerisinde multivariate analizlerde yaş (p=0,010) ve patolojik tümör boyutunun (p=0,018) kansere özgü sağkalımı etkilediği görüldü. Sonuç: T1a ve T1b böbrek tümörlerinde parsiyel nefrektomi ve radikal nefrektomi yapılan hastalar arasında rekürrenssiz ve kansere özgü sağkalımların benzer olduğu gözlendi ve prognozunun herhangi bir klinikopatolojik özellikten etkilenmediği gözlendi. Klinikopatolojik ve demografik özelliklerin ileri evrelerde sağkalımla ilişkili olabileceği düşünüldü.

The aim of this study was to evaluate outcomes of robotic partial nephrectomy (RAPN) procedures. At two centers, 42 patients underwent RAPN. Radius, Exo/Endophytic, Nearness, Anterior/Posterior, Location (R.E.N.A.L.) nephrometry and PADUA scores of patients were calculated by computed tomography (CT) or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Intra- and perioperative (0–30 days) complications were evaluated using modified Clavien classification. A four-arm da Vinci-S robotic surgical system was used and outcomes were evaluated retrospectively. Mean age of the patients was 52.3 ± 6.5 years. Mean tumor size was 3.1 ± 1.0 (1.4–6.6) cm. R.E.N.A.L. nephrometry and PADUA scores were 6.0 ± 1.5 and 7.5 ± 0.9, respectively. Mean surgical time was 127.7 ± 18.7 minutes and estimated blood loss was 100 ± 18.1 cc. Mean warm ischemia time was 16.0 ± 8.9 (0–30) minutes. Intraoperative complications did not develop in any patient. Median hospital stay was 3.0 (2–6) days. Except for 17 patients, hilar clamping was performed in 25 patients. Histopathology results included 34 renal cell carcinoma (22 clear cell, 7 chromophobe cell, 4 papillary cell, and 1 clear papillary cell). Oncocytoma (n = 4), adenoma (n = 1), fibroadipose tissue (n = 1), papillary epithelial hyperplasia (n = 1), and chronic pyelonephritis (n = 1) were present. Surgical margins were negative in all patients. During a median follow-up period of 15.5 ± 10.9 (3–46) months, neither local recurrence nor distant metastasis was detected. In conclusion, RAPN is a safe, minimally invasive surgical approach, with excellent surgical and oncological outcomes in T1 kidney tumors. Zero ischemia off-clamp RAPN is also safe in selected masses with the advantage of avoiding complete renal ischemia.

Introduction: In this retrospective study, we report outcomes of robot-assisted laparoscopic radical prostatectomy (RARP) in high-risk prostate cancer (HRPC), classified according to the D’Amico risk criteria and with a minimum follow-up of 1 year. Methods: A total of 60 patients who had at least one preoperative HRPC feature and underwent RARP were included. Mean patient age and preoperative serum prostate-specific antigen level were 66.4±7.5 years and 13.4±11.0 ng/ml, respectively. Preoperatively, 3 (5.0%), 4 (6.7%), 17 (28.3%), 3 (5.0%), and 33 (55.0%) patients had prostate biopsy-proven Gleason scores of 5+4, 4+5, 4+4, 3+5, and 2 pads/day. Of the 27 patients with no preoperative erectile dysfunction (ED), 17 (63.0%) had no ED at a mean follow-up of 1 year. Trifecta and pentafecta rates were 43.2% and 28.7%, respectively. Conclusion: Based on our experience, RARP in HRPC is a relatively safe procedure with satisfactory oncological and functional outcomes.

Introduction: We present our experience with retrograde intrarenal surgery (RIRS) in patients with calculi in congenital anomalies of the upper urinary tract. Methods: A total of 29 patients with urinary stones and congenital anomalies of the kidney and ureter, including duplicated collecting system, horseshoe kidney (HSK), malrotated kidney, ureteropelvic junction stenosis (UPJ-S), and ectopic pelvic kidney (EPK), were treated with RIRS between January 2008 and December 2014. Introduction: Prostate cancer (PrC) is the fifth most common malignancy worldwide and the second most common malignancy in men. Currently, robotic-assisted laparoscopic radical prostatectomy (RARP) has become a popular treatment for localised PrC treatment worldwide. We aimed to assess the learning curve of RARP in our institution. Methods: A total of 391 patients who underwent RARP in our clinic between February 2009 and April 2013 were included in the study. We retrospectively evaluated patient data that were recorded prospectively. The demographic, perioperative, postoperative functional, and oncological results of six surgeons’ patient groups (n=72, n=110, n=103, n=38, n=36, and n=32) and three consecutive series formed by dividing the patient groups of the three surgeons with the highest volume of cases were analysed. Results: There was no significant difference between patient groups with regard to age, American Society of Anesthesiologists score, preoperative International Prostate Symptom Score, International Index of Erectile Function (IIEF) score, number of previously performed operations, prostate-specific antigen levels, clinical stage, biopsy pathology, pathological stage, positive surgical margin (PSM) rate, biochemical recurrence (BCR) rate, potency, and continence rate at postoperative Month 12. When we assessed the three consecutive series of the three highest-volume surgeons we found that, over time, operation time (OT) decreased significantly (p0.05), and median IIEF score at 12 months improved significantly (p0.05), and median IIEF score at 12 months improved significantly (p=0.01) in the series of Surgeon 2; OT decreased significantly (p0.05 for both) in the series of Surgeon 3. The overall complication rate was 11.7% and 34% of these complications were major ones. The overall blood transfusion rate was 2%. The overall PSM rate was 20.4% (9.3% for pT2 tumours and 44% for pT3 tumours). The overall rate of BCR was 9.4%. Conclusion: In our clinical experience, OT, EBL, and blood transfusion rate seem to decrease during the learning curve of RARP.

Objective: To report the outcomes of transperitoneal robotic adrenalectomy (RA) procedures in five initial cases performed at two institutions. Methods: Between March 2012 and November 2014, five patients underwent RA. A transperitoneal approach was taken by using the da Vinci-S four-arm surgical robot. Outcomes were assessed retrospectively. Results: Mean patient age was 42.6±5.1 (range: 34-47) years. Mean body mass index was 30.5±4.5 (range: 23.2-35.2) kg/m². Median tumour size detected on radiological imaging was 3.1±1.7 (range: 1.2-6.0) cm. Mean operation time was 129.0±12.4 (range: 120-150) minutes and median estimated blood loss was 100.0±119.3 (range: 50-350) ml. No intraoperative or perioperative complications occurred according to the modified Clavien complication scale. Median duration of hospital stay was 2.0±1.7 (range: 2-6) days. The fourth robotic arm was used in two patients. Histopathology results demonstrated: metastasis of renal cell carcinoma occurred in 1 case, adrenal cortical adenoma in 2 cases, pheochromocytoma in 1 case, and hyperplasia in 1 case. After a median follow-up of 17.0±15.0 (range: 3-40) months, no local recurrence was detected. Conclusion: RA is a safe minimally invasive surgical approach that has excellent surgical and oncological outcomes in the treatment of adrenal masses

Around 20%-30% of patients diagnosed with prostate cancer (PCa) still have high-risk PCa disease (HRPC) that requires aggressive treatment. Treatment of HRPC is controversial, and multimodality therapy combining surgery, radiation therapy, and androgen deprivation therapy have been suggested. There has been a trend toward performing radical prostatectomy (RP) in HRPC and currently, robot-assisted laparoscopic RP (RARP) has become the most common approach. Number of publications related to robotic surgery in HRPC is limited in the literature. Tissue and Tumor characteristics might be different in HRPC patients compared to low-risk group and increased surgical experience for RARP is needed. Due to the current literature, RARP seems to have similar oncologic outcomes including surgical margin positivity, biochemical recurrence and recurrence-free survival rates, additional cancer therapy needs and lymph node (LN) yields with similar complication rates compared to open surgery in HRPC. In addition, decreased blood loss, lower rates of blood transfusion and shorter duration of hospital stay seem to be the advantages of robotic surgery in this particular patient group. RARP in HRPC patients seems to be safe and technically feasible with good intermediate-term oncologic results, acceptable morbidities, excellent short-term surgical and pathological outcomes and satisfactory functional results.

Background and objectives: Although many features of robotic prostatectomy are similar to those of conventional laparoscopic urological procedures (such as laparoscopic prostatectomy), the procedure is associated with some drawbacks, which include limited intravenous access, relatively long operating time, deep Trendelenburg position, and high intra-abdominal pressure. The primary aim was to describe respiratory and hemodynamic challenges and the complications related to high intra-abdominal pressure and the deep Trendelenburg position in robotic prostatectomy patients. The secondary aim was to reveal safe discharge criteria from the operating room. Methods: Fifty-three patients who underwent robotic prostatectomy between December 2009 and January 2011 were prospectively enrolled. Main outcome measures were non-invasive monitoring, invasive monitoring and blood gas analysis performed at supine (T0), Trendelenburg (T1), Trendelenburg + pneumoperitoneum (T2), Trendelenburg-before desufflation (T3), Trendelenburg (after desufflation) (T4), and supine (T5) positions. Results: Fifty-three robotic prostatectomy patients were included in the study. The main clinical challenge in our study group was the choice of ventilation strategy to manage respiratory acidosis, which is detected through end-tidal carbon dioxide pressure and blood gas analysis. Furthermore, the mean arterial pressure remained unchanged, the heart rate decreased significantly and required intervention. The central venous pressure values were also above the normal limits. Conclusion: Respiratory acidosis and "upper airway obstruction-like" clinical symptoms were the main challenges associated with robotic prostatectomy procedures during this study.

The most effective local treatment of muscle invasive bladder cancer and non-invasive, high-grade bladder tumours that recur or progress despite intravesical therapies, is open radical cystectomy (RC), extended pelvic lymph node (LN) dissection with urinary diversion. Performing these complex procedures using pure laparoscopy is extremely difficult. On the other hand, the surgical robot has the advantage of enabling the console surgeon to perform complex procedures more easily, providing three-dimensional (3D) and magnified views, higher grades of wristed hand movements, and decreased hand tremor, while the fourth robotic arm offers additional assistance and tissue retraction which facilitates the learning curve. The number of centres performing robot-assisted radical cystectomy (RARC) is increasing. Although most of the centres perform extracorporeal urinary diversion following RARC, very few centres – including ours – have reported their outcomes on RARC with total intracorporeal urinary diversion. Some of the articles, comparing open RC versus RARC, have suggested similar outcomes in terms of operative time, mean LN yield, positive surgical margin (PSM) rates, and complication rates, whereas others have suggested decreased estimated blood loss, transfusion rate, complications, length of hospital stay, wound problems, time to flatus, and time to regular diet in the postoperative period in RARC patients. The surgical technique of total intracorporeal RARC with urinary diversions is still evolving, and these complex robotic procedures seem to be technically feasible with good intermediate-term oncologic results, acceptable morbidities, excellent short-term surgical and pathological outcomes, and satisfactory functional results.

Experiência e objetivos: a cistectomia robótica vem rapidamente se tornando parte do repertório cirúrgico de rotina para o tratamento do câncer de próstata. Nosso objetivo foi descrever os desafios respiratórios e hemodinâmicos e as complicações observadas em pacientes de cistectomia robótica. Pacientes: foram prospectivamente recrutados 16 pacientes tratados com cistectomia robótica entre dezembro de 2009 e janeiro de 2011. As medidas de desfecho primário foram monitoração não invasiva, monitoração invasiva e análise de gases sangüíneos feita nas posições supina (T0), Trendelenburg (T1), Trendelenburg + pneumoperitônio (T2), Trendelenburg antes da dessuflação (T3), Trendelenburg depois da dessuflacão (T4) e supina (T5). Resultados: houve diferencas significativas entre T0 - T1 e T0 - T2 com frequências cardíacas mais baixas. O valor médio para a pressão arterial em T1 foi significativamente mais baixo do que em T0. O valor da pressão venosa central foi significativamente mais elevado em T1, T2, T3 e T4 versus T0. Não foi observada diferença significativa no valor de PET-CO2 em qualquer ponto temporal, em comparação com T0. Também não foram notadas diferenças significativas na frequência respiratória em qualquer ponto temporal, em comparação com T0. Os valores médios de ƒ em T3, T4 e T5 foram significativamente mais elevados versus T0. A ventilação minuto média em T4 e T5 foi significativamente mais elevada versus T0. As pressões de platô e de pico médias em T1, T2, T3, T4 e T5 foram significativamente mais elevadas versus T0. Conclusões: embora a maioria dos pacientes geralmente tolere satisfatoriamente a cistectomia robótica e perceba os benefícios, os anestesiologistas devem levar em consideração as mudanças no sistema cardiopulmonar ocorrentes quando os pacientes são colocados na posição de Trendelenburg e ao ser criado um pneumoperitônio.

Background and objectives: Robotic cystectomy is rapidly becoming a part of the standard surgical repertoire for the treatment of prostate cancer. Our aim was to describe respiratory and hemodynamic challenges and the complications observed in robotic cystectomy patients. Patients: Sixteen patients who underwent robotic surgery between December 2009 and January 2011 were prospectively enrolled. Main outcome measures were non-invasive monitoring, invasive monitoring and blood gas analysis performed at supine (T0), Trendelenburg (T1), Trendelenburg + pneumoperitoneum (T2), Trendelenburg-before desufflation (T3), Trendelenburg (after desufflation) (T4), and supine (T5) positions. Results: There were significant differences between T0 − T1 and T0 − T2 with lower heart rates. The mean arterial pressure value at T1 was significantly lower than T0. The central venous pressure value was significantly higher at T1, T2, T3, and T4 than at T0. There was no significant difference in the PET-CO2 value at any time point compared with T0. There were no significant differences in respiratory rate at any time point compared with T0. The mean f values at T3, T4, and T5 were significantly higher than T0. The mean minute ventilation at T4 and T5 were significantly higher than at T0. The mean plateau pressures and peak pressures at T1, T2, T3, T4, and T5 were significantly higher than the mean value at T0. Conclusions: Although the majority of patients generally tolerate robotic cystectomy well and appreciate the benefits, anesthesiologists must consider the changes in the cardiopulmonary system that occur when patients are placed in Trendelenburg position, and when pneumoperitoneum is created. PURPOSE: To evaluate if 18 fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography(18FDG-PET) scan could identify post-chemotherapy retroperitoneal lymphnode (RPLN) involvement in advanced germ cell tumors of the testis.MATERIALS AND METHODS: Between January 2005 and January 2009, 16patients with advanced germ cell tumors of the testis underwent RPLNdissection (RPLND) following chemotherapy. Before RPLND, abdominalcomputed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and18FDG-PET were performed in all the patients. Findings on 18FDG-PETwere compared with pathological evaluation of the removed lymphatic tissue.RESULTS: Both abdominal CT and MRI demonstrated retroperitonealmasses in all the patients following chemotherapy. Although PET did not demonstrate any activity in 8 patients, tumor was detected histopathologically.In 1 patient, 18FDG-PET demonstrated activity; however, no tumor wasdetected on pathology. Of the remaining 7 patients, 18FDG-PET findingswere concordant with the histopathological findings. No activity wasdetected in 2 patients with no tumors whereas all 5 patients harboring viabletumor cells showed positive 18FDG-PET activity. In our study, sensitivityand specificity of 18FDG-PET in detecting RPLN involvement were detectedto be 39% and 67%, respectively.CONCLUSION: 18FDG-PET imaging does not seem to be a reliable methodin detecting RPLN involvement in advanced germ cell tumors of the testisfollowing chemotherapy. Therefore, we neither recommend routine use of18FDG-PET scanning nor decide the treatment work-up by solely relying onthe 18FDG-PET findings in this patient group.

Purpose. To ascertain whether retrograde intrarenal surgery (RIRS) is as effective in patients treated previously with open renal stone surgery (ORSS) on the same kidney as in patients with no previous ORSS. Methods. There were 32 patients with renal stones who had previous ORSS and were treated with RIRS in the study group (Group 1). A total of 38 patients with renal stones who had no previous ORSS and were treated with RIRS were selected as the control group (Group 2). Purpose. We aimed to compare and evaluate the outcomes and complications of two endoscopic treatment procedures, semirigid ureteroscopy (SR-URS) and flexible ureteroscopy (F-URS), in the treatment of proximal ureteral stones (PUS). Methods. SR-URS (group 1) was done on 68 patients whereas 64 patients underwent F-URS (group 2) for the treatment of PUS. Success rate was defined as the absence of stone fragments or presence of asymptomatic insignificant residual fragments < 2 mm. Outcomes and complications were recorded. Results. The differences were statistically not significant in age, gender, body mass index (BMI), and stone characteristics between groups. Mean ureteral stone size was 9.1 ± 0.4 mm and 8.9 ± 0.5 mm for groups 1 and 2. Mean operative time was 34.1 ± 1.5 min and 49.4 ± 2.3 min for groups 1 and 2 (p=0.001). SFRs were 76.5% and 87.5% for groups 1 and 2 (p=0.078). Two major complications (ureteral avulsion and ureteral rupture) occurred in group 1. Conclusion. F-URS is safer and less invasive than SR-URS in patients with PUS. There is no statistically significant difference in the efficacy of either technique. Nonetheless we recommend F-URS in the management of PUS as a first-line treatment option in select cases of proximal ureteral calculi.

ABSTRACT Introduction: The success of the robot assisted radical prostatectomy (RARP) procedures depend on a successful team, however the literature focuses on the performance of a console surgeon. The aim of this study was to evaluate surgical outcomes of the surgeons during the learning curve in relation to the bedside assistant's experience level during RARP. Materials and Methods: We retrospectively reviewed two non - laparoscopic, beginner robotic surgeon's cases, and we divided the patients into two groups. The first surgeon completed the operations on 20 patients with a beginner bedside assistant in February - May 2009 (Group-1). The second surgeon completed operations on 16 patients with an experienced (at least 150 cases) bedside assistant in February 2015 - December 2015 (Group-2). The collected data included age, prostate volume, prostate specific antigen (PSA), estimated blood loss, complications and percent of positive surgical margins. In addition, the elapsed time for trocar insertion, robot docking, console surgery, specimen extraction and total anesthesia time were measured separately. Results: There were no significant differences between the groups in terms of age, comorbidity, prostate volume, PSA value, preoperative Gleason score, number of positive cores, postoperative Gleason score, pathological grade, protection rate of neurovascular bundles, surgical margin positivity, postoperative complications, length of hospital stay, or estimated blood loss. The robot docking, trocar placement, console surgery, anesthesia and specimen extraction times were significantly shorter in group 2 than they were in group 1 (17.75 ± 3.53 min vs. 30.20 ± 7.54 min, p ≤ 0.001; 9.63 ± 2.71 min vs. 14.40 ± 4.52 min, p = 0.001; 189.06 ± 27.70 min vs. 244.95 ± 80.58 min, p = 0.01; 230.94 ± 30.83 min vs. 306.75 ± 87.96 min, p = 0.002; 10.19 ± 2.54 min vs. 17.55 ± 8.79 min, p = 0.002; respectively). Conclusion: Although the bedside assistant's experience in RARP does not appear to influence the robotic surgeon's oncological outcomes during the learning curve, it may reduce the potential complications by shortening the total operation time.
