The article discusses Gerard of Cenad's contribution as a philosopher in his "Deliberatio supra hymnum trium puerorum ad Isingrimum liberalem." It describes Gerard as an author of great religious and political importance for 11th century medieval Hungary but little known to modern historians and the public. It talks about sources and readings of Gerard the philosopher, his extant work and its lack of readers, and his philosophy according to the Catholic Archbishop Ignatius Batthyány.
