BACKGROUND: Misconceptions about ADHD stigmatize affected people, reduce credibility of providers, and prevent/delay treatment. To challenge misconceptions, we curated findings with strong evidence base. METHODS: We reviewed studies with more than 2000 participants or meta-analyses from five or more studies or 2000 or more participants. We excluded meta-analyses that did not assess publication bias, except for meta-analyses of prevalence. For network meta-analyses we required comparison adjusted funnel plots. We excluded treatment studies with waiting-list or treatment as usual controls. From this literature, we extracted evidence-based assertions about the disorder. RESULTS: We generated 208 empirically supported statements about ADHD. The status of the included statements as empirically supported is approved by 80 authors from 27 countries and 6 continents. The contents of the manuscript are endorsed by 366 people who have read this document and agree with its contents. CONCLUSIONS: Many findings in ADHD are supported by meta-analysis. These allow for firm statements about the nature, course, outcome causes, and treatments for disorders that are useful for reducing misconceptions and stigma.

Factors contributing to emerging social risk undermine democratic principles. Professional training in a higher educational institution is focused on activity under certain politico-social conditions. Teaching in higher institutions should become a transformational stage for professional activity under conditions of social risk. Training to professional activity under conditions of social risk should be carried out through studying risk factors, integration of risk-oriented training in the course of teaching process, search for and implementation of effective form of teaching, issues of legal and noxological culture of teachers and students. Formation of noxological culture in the process of professional training in higher institution becomes a condition of social risk minimization. Designing and realization of noxologically oriented teachers’ training is a necessity imposed by society development. Higher education institutions’ graduates’ competitiveness should be mainly provided by its focus on conservation of their pupils’ life and health, i.e. future generation of the country. Given this, the teacher using innovations will develop learners’ innovation thinking, fulfilling of their abilities. The methodological framework of the research consists of conception of educating life safety (Antyukhin E., Sulla M.); education methodology (Gmurman V.E., Danilov M.A., Schedrovitsky G.P., etc.); formation of base personal culture in the integral pedagogical process (Gazman O.S., Ledned V.S., etc.). The objective is to theoretically study the possibility of designing noxologically oriented teachers’ training – the necessity imposed by relevant social problems and its need in development.

Analysis of the foreign language competence at the current stage of development of higher pedagogical education becomes more and more topical. In this paper the requirements of the federal educational standards of pedagogical education and the professional standard of a pedagogue to formation of the foreign language competence in students mastering the non-linguistic pedagogical specialties are specified. Analysis of understanding of the foreign language competence by researchers has been performed; the author's structure of the foreign language competence of future pedagogues is presented. The following sub-competences are distinguished as its structural components: linguistic, discursive, colloquial, pragmatic, information-technological, strategic, socio-cultural, personal-creative. The result of analysis of the level of development of the foreign language competence structural elements and kingdoms of results of analysis of the level of development of the foreign language competence structural elements in students of the first and second courses of non-linguistic pedagogical specialties are presented. It was established that the level of such structural elements of the foreign language competence as linguistic, discursive, colloquial, pragmatic, information-technological, strategic, socio-cultural, personal-creative sub-competences in students of sample being considered fall within the advanced level of development. The strategic sub-competence representing the ability to use the verbal and nonverbal communication strategies for compensation of the missing knowledge in the conditions of the linguistic communication as well as abilities relating to the linguistic creativity fall within the area of the optimal level of development which necessitates creation of the psychologicalpedagogical conditions for development thereof.

The article is devoted to empirical research of technical giftedness in children and young men depending of the extent of their engagement into specialized educational environment. Theoretical part gives a review of available concepts of giftedness and describes structural components of technical inclinations of a person. Giftedness is defined as systematic attribute of personality which is characterized by development dynamics. Practical part gives the results of comparative analysis of level of technical thinking, spatial thinking and imagination, professional inclinations of teenagers, students of high schools and of higher education technical institute. The results of research have shown that level of technical comprehension, spatial thinking and imagination is higher with students of technical institute of higher education than with children. Comparative analysis has shown that educational environment of a technical institute facilitates development of technical skills of a person, allows to achieve higher than average results in the sphere of construction and technologies. © IDOSI Publications, 2013.

The article is devoted to the questions of construction and realization of the multifactor pedagogical model of the development of giftedness in children and youth. Relying on modern foreign and domestic theories of giftedness accepted by the scientific community the multifactor model of the pedagogical development of giftedness in children and youth is offered. The empirical results of functioning of the developed model in real pedagogical process are presented in the article. The scientific and methodological base of the established pedagogical model of the development of giftedness in children and youth, the implementation of modern educational technologies in the organization of work in detecting, development and support of giftedness in children and youth are presented in the article. The variant of solving empirical tasks important for the realization of the given model is offered: 1) to determine the basic concept for further empirical research of the technical giftedness; 2) to create psychological and pedagogical technology of diagnostics and forecasting of the technical giftedness of children and young people; 3) to work on the psychological and pedagogical basis for the development of technically gifted children and youth. In article the formation problem on the basis of Polytechnic college of Yelabuga City ofTatarstan Republic is analyzed a virtual component of the integrated information environment which is organically combining in the structure elements of the real and virtual nature. On the basis of the obtained experimental data is shown preconditions of development of the information environment, and as a role of the information environment in professional formation of future workers. The relevance of the stated problem is caused by the fact that the development of academic mobility of students and carrying out the program of mutual exchange and training of students and teachers in other higher educational institutions of Russia and the whole world, are one of the indicators of educational autonomy of the university. The article emphasizes the organizational-pedagogical conditions, providing the formation of foreign competence in students with the features of linguistic giftedness. The way to reveal the students, who have the features of linguistic giftedness, is presented. Experimental teaching showed the increased level of independent behavior in the process of foreign language study; the work in small groups on solution of linguistic tasks to the fullest extent actualizes potential linguistic abilities of students; the satisfaction with the learning process of subject "Foreign Language" has also increased.

In this regard the aim of the research is the development of perspective students selection mechanism by the future employers. One of the sub-stages of the algorithm is the formation of the resource and reserve groups of students by the enterprise representatives and by tutors of the faculty of professional educational institutions. The formation of the resource and reserve groups of students with flexible system of transition from one group into another according to the results of their progress, according to participation extracurricular life of the institute, participation at the international, All-Russian scientific and practical conferences, allow to intensify the process of their self-preparation by means of creation of the natural competitive environment in educational institution of professional education. It also helps to do the selection by employers and to distribute perspective students taking into account their potential opportunities and professional interests.

The authors investigate the issue of diagnostics and development of technical giftedness at school age. Theoretic part is devoted to the description of structural components of technical giftedness of a person. Empirical part contains the results of authors' study of sex-age dynamics observed in development of technical giftedness' characteristics. Socio-pedagogical stereotype is identified: it seems that boys manifest signs of technical giftedness more often and in greater extent than girls do.

In this context, an objective of the study was to offer the most efficient avenues for the university activities to develop the pedagogical education quality rating system applicable to the academic Physical Education discipline. The empirical data mining study performed for an academic year gave the grounds to rate progress of the ongoing academic project to rate the physical education quality. The stakeholders involved in the study appreciated practical benefits of the initiative. The study findings approximated with 5% error level gave the grounds to state that the difference of the data arrays prior to and after the initiative are not accidental. Therefore, the ongoing initiatives were found to be of positive effect on the academic education quality rates in the academic Physical Education discipline as verified by the cause-and-effect correlations analysed. The study made it possible to offer the most promising ways to improve the system, as follow: formalise the key education quality criteria by the relevant operable definitions; improve the education quality assurance culture to guarantee the stakeholders' interests being satisfied; and apply the education quality rating results to improve the education quality management and planning system.
