PurposeThis study produced epoxy-filled urea-formaldehyde (UF) microcapsules (MCs) and T-403 amine MCs using the in situ technique. The Taguchi method was used to determine the effects of the control factors (temperature, stirring speed, core-shell ratio and surfactant concentration) affecting MCs’ core diameter and core content and optimizing their optimum levels with a single criterion. Optimum control factor levels, which simultaneously provide maximum core diameter and core content of MCs, were determined by the PROMETHEE-GAIA multi-criteria optimization method. In addition, the optimized MC yield was analyzed by thermal camera images and compression test.Design/methodology/approachMicrocracks in materials used for aerospace vehicles and automotive parts cause serious problems, so research on self-healing in materials science becomes critical. The damages caused by micro-cracks need to heal themselves quickly. The study has three aims: (1) production of self-healing MCs, mechanical and chemical characterization of produced MCs, (2) single-criteria and multi-criteria optimization of parameters providing maximum MC core diameter and core content, (3) investigation of self-healing property of produced MCs and evaluation. Firstly, MCs were produced to achieve these goals.FindingsThe optimized micro cures are buried in the epoxy matrix at different concentrations. Thermal camera images after damage indicate the presence of healing. An epoxy-amine MC consisting of a 10% by weight filled aluminum sandwich panel was prepared and subjected to a quasi-static compression test. It was determined that there is a strong bond between the UF shell and the epoxy resin.Originality/valueThe optimization of production factors has been realized to produce the most efficient MCs that heal using less expensive and more accessible methods.

The most distinctive features of sound insulation structures are their flexibility and porosity. Therefore, the flexible epoxy matrix material was made cellular using a suitable foaming agent. In addition, hollow glass microspheres (HGMs) were added to the epoxy matrix. Thus, the sound wave refraction was increased by obtaining cavities in the cell walls. Structures with different densities and voids were created by changing the ratios of the filling material and foaming agents used in the sandwich. An aluminum (Al) honeycomb was used to protect the insulation materials\" structural integrity and ensure the homogeneous distribution of sound waves. The effect of density differences on sound insulation values was investigated. The mechanical properties of sandwich structures were determined using compression and three-point bending tests. The distribution of the filler in the matrix was visualized using SEM. TGA, DSC, thermal conductivity, dielectric, and flammability tests were also performed to determine their thermal, electrical, and flammability properties. During the formation of cells in the flexible epoxy, the HGMs were positioned in the cell wall by internal gas pressure. Low-density structures performed better at low frequencies, while high-density structures at high frequencies.

Giriş ve Amaç: Travmatik vertebra cerrahisi(TVC); intraoperatif kan kaybının en önemli sebeplerinden biridir ve genellikle allojenik kan transfüzyonu gereklidir. Biz bu çalışmada intraoperatif allojenik kan transfüzyonlarını(IOAKT) etkileyen faktörleri belirlemek ve IOAKT' nin kısa vadeli postoperatif sonuçlar üzerindeki etkilerini gözlemlemek istedik. Yöntem: Bu retrospektif çalışmada TVC uygulanan 203 hasta belirlenmiştir ve verileri eksik olan 58 hasta çalışma dışı bırakılmıştır. Preoperatif ve intraoperatif değişkenlerin IOAKT insidansı üzerine etkilerini, IOAKT ile postoperatif mekanik ventilasyon(MV) süreleri, Yoğun Bakım Ünitesi(YBÜ) kalış süreleri ve taburculuk süreleri arasındaki ilişki değerlendirilmiştir. Bulgular: 145 hasta değerlendirildi. İOAKT+(n=25) ve İOAKT-(n=120) olan iki grup arasında yaş (p= 0,171), cinsiyet (p=0,471 ), ASA sınıflaması, cerrahi yapılan segment sayısı (p=0,068), cerrahi yaklaşım şekli arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı fark bulunmamıştır. Preoperatif hemoglobin düzeyleri sırasıyla 12,25 ± 1,78 g/dL ve 12,97 ± 1,84 g/dL idi(p = 0,076). İOAKT+ grubun ortalama operasyon süresi anlamlı derecede uzun bulunmuştur(p ˂ 0,022). İOABT+ grubun hastaneden taburculuk süresi anlamlı derecede uzun bulunmuştur(14 ve 9 gün). İki grup arasında YBÜ’ de kalma süreleri(p=0,624) ve MV süreleri(p=0,555) arasında anlamlı fark bulunmamıştır. Sonuç: Allojenik kan transfüzyonu, hastaların preoperatif hemoglobin seviyeleri ve ameliyatın büyüklüğünden bağımsız olarak; daha uzun hastanede yatış süresi için bağımsız bir risk faktörü olabilir. Kan kaybını ve kan transfüzyonunu önleme stratejileri, maliyetlerin düşmesi ile sonuçlanabilir. Anahtar Kelimeler: Transfüzyon , Komplikasyon , Spinal Kord , Vertebra Cerrahisi

The aim of this research is to evaluate the contribution of the feedback given based on Clinical Supervision Model to the professional development of a science teacher candidate. In the study, feedback was given to the science teacher candidate throughout the academic year within the framework of Clinical Supervision Practices. The candidate gave lectures 3 times during a semester at the practice school. The lessons were observed by the stakeholders and feedback was given on the student’s performance in the three-way conferences held afterwards. In the study, “case study”, one of the qualitative research methods, was used. Audio recordings taken from three-way conferences were used as data collection tool. Content analysis of the collected data was made. In this context, codes were created from the transcript of the data obtained from the audio recordings, the codes were arranged and interpreted within the framework of common themes. In the study, it was concluded that Clinical Supervision practices contributed to the professional development of science teacher candidates in attracting students’ attention to science lessons, teaching science concepts and classroom management.

The aim of this chapter is to shed light on the stages of digital transformation process on the basis of 4th IR. AI and its development processes are explained by digital transformation framework and holistic framework of digital transformation under the perspective of contemporary organization. Definition of AI and its relationship with sub-dimensions are strengthened by creativity process and AI creativity. Top strategic trends for 2022 and emerging technologies are discussed through considering growth, digitalization, and efficiency. AI-driven business model innovation is taken into consideration by scaling AI capabilities as agile customer co-creation, data-driven delivery operations, and scalable ecosystem. Organizational capabilities for AI implementation are taken into account as AI project planning, co-development of AI systems, data management and AI model lifecycle management. In the view of detailed literature review and current findings, evaluations and suggestions were made.

Bu araştırmanın amacı, okul öncesi eğitime devam eden 57-68 aylık çocukların okul kaygılarılarının düzeyini ve bu düzeyin bağımsız değişkenlere göre anlamlı olarak farklılaşıp farklılaşmadığını belirlemektir. Araştırmanın amacını gerçekleştirebilmek için nicel araştırma yöntemlerinden ilişkisel tarama modeli kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın evrenini, 2019-2020 eğitim öğretim yılında Diyarbakır ili Ergani ilçesinde bulunan MEB’e bağlı resmi bağımsız anaokullarına devam eden 57-68 aylık (N:561) çocuk ve bu çocukların öğretmenleri (N:33) oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmanın örneklemini ise basit seçkisiz örnekleme yöntemi kullanılarak belirlenen 57-68 aylık 446 çocuk ve 33 öğretmen oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmada veri toplama araçları olarak araştırmacı tarafından hazırlanan “Demografik Bilgi Formu” ve çocukların okul kaygılarını belirlemek için “Okul Kaygısı Ölçeği-Öğretmen Formu” kullanılmıştır. Elde edilen verilerin analizinde betimsel istatistikler, bağımsız gruplar t Testi ve tek yönlü varyans analizi (ANOVA) kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın sonuçlarına göre; araştırmaya katılan çocukların düşük düzeyde okul kaygısı yaşadığı belirlenmiştir. Çocukların okul kaygıları ile bağımsız değişkenler arasında anlamlı farklılıklar olduğu belirlenmiştir.

PURPOSE To investigate colour agreement between different shades of Panavia V5 resin cement and their try-in pastes under zirconia-reinforced lithium silicate ceramics. METHODS Forty-four zirconia-reinforced lithium silicate ceramic specimens were prepared at 0.8 ± 0.01 mm thickness. Composite resin tooth-shaded background specimens were obtained in two shades. Resin cement specimens were fabricated at 0.1-mm thickness. Colour difference values (ΔE) between Aquagel and both the try-in paste and resin cement were calculated using the CIE-Lab system. The CIEDE2000 (ΔE00) colour formula was used to determine colour differences. The three-way ANOVA test and a multiple comparisons test were used for statistical analysis (α = 0.05). © 2022 Elsevier Inc.The black cutworm (BCW), Agrotis ipsilon (Hufnagel) (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae), is one of the destructive cutworm species. Black cutworm is a highly polyphagous pest that feeds on more than 30 plants, many of which are of economic importance such as maize, sugar beet, and potato. The control of BCW larvae relies heavily on the application of synthetic insecticides which have a detrimental impact on human health and the natural environment. In addition, increasing insecticide resistance in many insect species requires a novel and sustainable approach to controlling insect pests. The endosymbionts of entomopathogenic nematodes (EPNs) (Xenorhabdus and Phorohabdus spp.) represent a newly emerging green approach to controlling a wide range of insect pests. In the current study, the oral and contact efficacy of cell suspension (4 × 107 cells ml−1) and cell-free supernatants of different symbiotic bacteria (X. nematophilai, X. bovienii, X. budapestensis, and P. luminescent subsp. kayaii) were evaluated against the mixed groups of 1st-2nd and 3rd-4th instars larvae of BCW under controlled conditions. The oral treatment of the cell suspension and cell-free supernatants resulted in higher mortality rates than contact treatments. In general, larval mortality was higher in the 1st-2nd instar larvae than in the 3rd-4th instar larvae. The highest (75%) mortality was obtained from the cell suspension of X. budapestensis. The results indicated that the oral formulations of the cell suspension and cell-free supernatants of bacterial strains may have a good control potential against the 1st-2nd larvae BCW. However, the efficacy of the cell suspension and cell-free supernatants of tested bacterial strains should be further evaluated under greenhouse and field conditions.

Beauty parlour stroke syndrome is a stroke syndrome that occurs secondary to hyperextension of the neck due to compression of the vertebral artery in the atlanto-occipital region. It was first defined as “pearl beauty stroke syndrome” in 1992 by Weintraub et al. Vertigo syndrome caused by cervical region pathologies, bad posture of the neck and/or trauma [1]. We present a young, 23-year-old patient who has no disease, no trauma history nor substance-drug use. He was diagnosed with vertigo that started after going to the barber’s and then had an infarction in the cerebellum.

Objective:This retrospective clinical study aimed to investigate the long-term clinical success of dental implants restored with splinted or non-splinted posterior prostheses with different retention systems.Materials and Methods:Fifty patients who had undergone dental implant surgery and prosthesis treatment and had a follow-up period of at least 2 years were included in this study. Marginal bone loss was measured from the surrounding bone levels on the mesial and distal surfaces of the implants using a millimetre ruler on panoramic radiographs. The plaque index (PI), gingival index (GI) and bleeding on probing (BOP) were also measured. The Mann-Whitney U test and ANOVA test were used for statistical analysis.Results:The mean values of mesial and distal bone loss were 0.72±0.81 and 0.62±0.58, respectively. The correlation coefficient between mesial and distal bone loss was 0.431; thus, a significant difference was found (p0.05).Conclusion:Clinically, given the long-term maintenance of soft and hard tissue health, successful results can be achieved with a two-member fixed prosthetic rehabilitation plan on two implants.

The aim of this study was to investigate in the esthetic perceptions of 2nd grade dental students before and after training. Material and Methods: A total of 16 photographs which contain golden ratio, buccal corridor, midline deviation, incisal embrasure, lip line, midline diastema, dark triangles and smile arc were shown to 78 dental students (33 male, 45 female). Immediately after the training about the smile esthetics, the same photos were shown again. The effect of gender on esthetic perception was also examined, in addition to assessing the effects of education on esthetic perception. Pearson Chi-square, Fisher's Exact test and McNemar test were used in the analysis of the results. Results: According to the results of the analysis, it was found that the answers of the smile arc before and after the education were statistically significant (p< 0.05). Accordingly, the rate of correct answers of women is statistically higher than that of men. A statistically significant difference was found between the responses to the gingival appearance in the smile before and after the education (p< 0.05). Conclusions: Based on the limited results of this study, professional dental education may affect the esthetic evaluation of smile. There were differences in the esthetic perception of women and men.

Bu araştırmada, okul öncesi öğretmenlerinin astronomiyi bilim ve astrolojiyi sözde bilim olarak ayırt edip edemediklerini saptamak amaçlanmıştır. Araştırma tarama modelinde olup, 2016-2017 eğitim öğretim yılında Malatya il merkezinde bağımsız anaokullarında görev yapan 115 okul öncesi öğretmeni ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Okul öncesi öğretmenlerinin astronomiyi bilim ve astrolojiyi sözde bilim olarak ayırt edip edemediklerini saptamak için Kallery (2001) tarafından hazırlamış altı maddelik bir anket kullanılmıştır. Anket maddeleri araştırmacı tarafından Türkçeye çevrilmiş ve uzman görüşü almak için 4 uzmana gönderilmiştir. Uzmanların önerileri doğrultusunda ankete son hali verilmiştir. Öğretmenlerin ankete verdiği cevaplar betimsel analize tabi tutularak öğretmenleri bilim (astronomi) ve sözde bilim (astroloji) algılarına bakılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda öğretmenlerin yarısından fazlasının burçlarını bazen okudukları, yarısının da hem astroloji hem de astronomiyi bilimsel olarak gördükleri belirlenmiştir. Öğretmenlerin çoğunluğunun astrolojinin kişinin karakterini ve kaderini Güneş, gezegen ve yıldızların konumlarından anlaşılacağı öngörüsüne kısmen katıldıkları belirlenmiştir. Bu durum araştırmaya katılan öğretmenlerin bilim ile sözde bilim arasında ayrım yapamadıklarını göstermiştir., In this study, it is aimed to determine whether pre-school teachers can distinguish astronomy from science and astrology as pseudo-science. The research was conducted with 115 preschool teachers working in independent kindergartens in Malatya city center in the 2016-2017 academic year. A six-item questionnaire prepared by Kallery (2001) was used to determine whether pre-school teachers could distinguish astronomy from science and astrology as pseudo-science. The questionnaire was translated into Turkish by the researcher and sent to 4 experts for expert opinion. The survey was finalized in line with the recommendations of the experts. Teachers' responses to the questionnaire were subjected to descriptive analysis and their perceptions of science (astronomy) and pseudo-science (astrology) were examined. As a result of the research, it was determined that more than half of the teachers read horoscopes sometimes and half of them saw both astrology and astronomy scientifically. It was determined that the majority of teachers partially agree with astrology's prediction that one's character and destiny can be understood from the positions of the Sun, planet and stars. This shows that the teachers involved in the research cannot distinguish between science and pseudo-science.

The aim of this chapter is to give a comprehensive framework through integrating the modern and post-modern leadership approaches in times of crises. The COVID-19 pandemic has led to great challenges worldwide. Organizing in times of crisis or crisis management has gained greater attention much more than before. Pandemic new workforce created new perspectives on the basis of leadership. This study provides detailed information about both modern leadership types as autocratic, democratic, laissez-faire, charismatic, transformational, transactional, and post-modern leadership types as spiritual, resonant, agile, relational social constructionist, and hybrid. In chaotic and uncertain environment, the leadership types and their effectiveness are analyzed and discussed at the heart of social exchange, social identity, leader-member exchange, self-determination, and complexity leadership theoretical point of views and related empirical findings.

This study aims to investigate whether assigning employees to unnecessary or unreasonable tasks can harm employee motivation. To account for the full range of motivation, we examined how illegitimate tasks affect work engagement and employee silence. We also embraced interactional justice to propose a possible underlying mechanism. Online questionnaires were used to collect data from 250 white-collar employees from various industries, of which 55.2% were males and mean age was 33.64 (s.d. = 11.56). We used structural equation modelling to analyse the data. Illegitimate tasks were associated with lower work engagement and higher employee silence, as expected. The relationship between illegitimate tasks and work engagement was fully mediated by interactional justice while the relationship between employee silence and illegitimate tasks were partially mediated. These findings emphasise the negative impact of inappropriate tasks on employee motivation. This study shows that illegitimate tasks are crucial determinants of employee motivation of both approach and avoidance in Turkish work context.

Dolayısıyla seçime ilişkin demokratik ilkelerin hukuksal kurallar aracılığıyla koruma altına alınması önem arz etmektedir. Amerika’daki başkanlık seçiminin temel bileşenlerini seçim sistemi, siyasi partiler, oy hakkının kullanılması, seçim kampanyalarının yürütülmesi ve seçimlerin yönetimi ve denetimi ile yetkili makamlar oluşturmaktadır. Bu çalışmada, Amerikan başkanlık seçiminin işleyişi, seçim kuralları, seçimi etkileyen mekanizmalar ve Federal Yüksek Mahkeme’nin seçim dönemlerinde üstlendiği görev ele alınmaktadır.

The aim of the chapter is to advance the framework of meaningful work under the new normal of COVID-19. The conceptualization of meaningful work is defined by the extensive literature review and current research findings. Future of work and its meaning are shaped by the crucial internal and external triggers as human resource practices, job-demand resources model, leadership, job crafting, playful work design, strengths used by individuals, and self-leadership. The meaning at distance work is reinforced by the fulfillment of individual needs. Within this context, new conceptualization of needs for meaning-based person job fit has emerged. The understanding of the relationship between variables and new meaningful work were enlightened by the theoretical framework of self-determination theory, social exchange theory, job-demand resources theory, work identity theory, social learning theory, social cognitive theory, and self-leadership theory. The chapter explores the possible outcomes of COVID-19 and its possible opportunities for employees, organizations, and education sectors.

Bu baglamda, calisanin olumsuz duygularinda azalma saglayabilecek her unsurun dikkatle incelenmesinin gerekliligi goz onune alinmis ve is taleplerindeki artisla birlikte cogalacagi dusunulen ise iliskin olumsuz duyussal iyi olus algilarinin mizah yoluyla azaltilabilecegi ongorusunden hareketle arastirmanin modeli olusturulmustur. Is talebi yuksek ve mizah yoluyla basa cikma egilimi dusuk olan calisanlarin, is talebi yuksek ancak mizah yoluyla basa cikma egilimi yuksek olan calisanlara nazaran, olumsuz duyussal iyi olus algilari daha fazladir. Arastirma bulgulari, mizah yoluyla basa cikma egilimi zayif olan kisilerin, mizah yoluyla basa cikma egilimi guclu olan kisilere nazaran yuksek is talepleri karsisindaki olumsuz duyussal iyi olus algilari acisindan daha dezavantajli durumda olabilecegini ortaya koymustur. Bu bulgular, is yerinde mizah yoluyla basa cikma becerilerinin, yalnizca calisanin sagligina olumlu katki saglama acisindan degil, is taleplerinin karsilanmasi acisindan da onem arz ettigini gostermistir.

Preschool teachers’ need to have positive attitudes towards the science teaching for increase the efficiency of the activities of science teaching. Preschool teachers’ attitudes towards science teaching undoubtedly affect children’s’ attitudes towards the science activities. The aim of this study was to find out the attitudes of early childhood teachers toward science teaching. The sample group of the study consisted of 144 teachers working in some public or private nursery schools/classes in Malatya with children at the age of six. The main data collection tool was “Early Childhood Teachers' Attitude Toward Science Teaching Scale” which was developed by Hyung-Sook-cho et al. (2003) and adapted to the research setting by the researchers. The scale is composed of 22 items under 4 sub-dimensions: 1) Comfort-discomfort, 2) Classroom preparation, 3) Managing hands-on science, and 4) Developmental appropriateness. In the statistical analysis of the data, t test, one-way variance analysis and LSD test were used. The findings demonstrated that the teachers’ level of education, term of service, in-service training have significant effect on their attitudes whereas the institutions where they work do not. The teachers with an undergraduate and master’s degree adopt a more positive attitude compared to the teachers who hold an associate degree or a high school (lycee) degree. The teacher who worked for 1 to 10 years adopt a more positive attitude compared to the teachers working for 11 to 15 years and more than 16 years.

World Health Organization describes traditional and complementary medicine as “the sum total of the knowledge, skills and practices based on the theories, beliefs and experiences indigenous to different cultures, whether explicable or not, used in the maintenance of health, as well as in the prevention, diagnosis, improvement or treatment of physical and mental illnesses”. The use of traditional and complementary medicine has a long history. As a result of increasing life expectancy of people, chronic and malignant diseases increases. Because of health care workers can not allocate enough time and the reasons such as avoiding the side effects of drugs, patients have increased interest in traditional and complementary medicine methods. It is predicted that the use of these methods will increase even more over time. To protect people from the harmful effects of these methods and to prevent unauthorized use, a variety of arrangements have been made in Turkey and in the world. For this reason, on October 27, 2014 "Regulations of Traditional and Complementary Medicine Practices" was published. In this regulation, 15 methods are accepted and their usage areas are expressed. These are phytotherapy, mesotherapy, maggot therapy, prolotherapy, cupping therapy, music therapy, hypnotherapy, homeopathy, hirudotherapy, ozone therapy, osteopathy, reflexology, acupuncture, apitherapy and chiropractic. Generally, patients do not tell their physician that they are using one of these methods. No matter what causes people to use these methods, if they use them unconsciously; diagnosis of diseases may be delayed, side effects may occur, or patients may be damaged by persons who are not authorized to perform these methods. For this reason, physicians should be aware of the tendencies of their patients and protect them from misuse by increasing their awareness.

In brief, augmented reality can be defined as a new “environment”, which is created by simultaneously transferring virtual data such as sound, image, graphic produced in virtual environment to real environment.It is seen that the augmented reality has great potential in idea generation, development, presentation to users and information transfer as a representation (presentation) tool with its current applications. Accordingly, the purpose of this study is to evaluate the use of AR technology in cultural heritage areas, to study application examples in archaeological sites and to examine the potential contributions that different uses can provide. Within the framework of this research, AR application is planned to be developed for the ancient city of Alexandria Troas, one of the important cities of the Troas region, located in Canakkale. With the application created, it is aimed to understand the value of the historical artifacts and structures unearthed during the excavation, to transfer them to the people who will experience the area, and to keep the city alive within the framework of virtual heritage values.

The aim of this chapter is to advance the understanding of how social entrepreneurs analyze and apply intellectual capital and corporate social responsibility within their companies. From the extensive literature review, the broad definitions of intellectual capital, and corporate social responsibility, the measurement models and the management of intellectual capital and the development process of corporate social responsibility were identified. Modern, socio-economic, philanthropic, and classical views were taken into consideration to explain corporate social responsibility in detail. In order to develop holistic understanding, the relationship between intellectual capital and corporate social responsibility on the basis of entrepreneur were analyzed. The understanding of the intellectual capital and corporate social responsibility in companies were shown by theoretical framework of resource-based view, dynamic capabilities, stakeholder theory, and legitimacy theory.

Turkiye’de adli tibbin gecmisinde Fransiz ekolunun agirligi cok baskin olmustur. Bugun tipta Anglo-Amerikan ekol dominant bir konuda olmasina ragmen adli tibbin pratiginde hala Fransiz ekolunun izlerini bariz bir sekilde gormek mumkundur. Hukuk sistemimizin Kara Avrupasi hukukuna dayanmasi bunun temel sebeplerinden biri olabilir. Ancak erken donem kriminoloji calismalarinin ve psikiyatrik adli tip olumlerinin Fransizca kaynaklari olmasinda rolu buyuktur. Sonradan eklenen Germen bakisi dahi, parafilileri (perversiyonlar) bir tarafa birakirsak, sanildigi kadar etkili degildir. Yakin doneme kadar alanda calisan uzmanlarin ‘tababeti adliye ve ruhi uzmani’ olarak adlandirilmasi bir tarafa noroloji ve psikiyatrinin tum duayen isimlerinin adli tip muessesesi icinde ve adli tip biriminin gelisiminde yillarca sureklilik iceren muhim katkilari psikiyatri ve adli tibbin bilinen isbirligini dogurmustur. Diger tip bilimleri yaninda, patoloji ve noropsikiyatrinin adli tip uygulamalarindaki yeri cok buyuktur. Bu kitapta adli tipta uzun yillar emek vermis, hepimizin yetismesine katki saglamis, arastirmalar yapip kitaplar ve makaleler yazmis hocalarimizi anmadan gecmek uygunsuz kacacakti. Aralarinda ayrim yapip secim yapmak hic de uygun sayilmaz. Istanbul disinda Ankara ve Izmir’de adli tibba buyuk emek veren bircok psikiyatri ve noroloji uzmani vardi, halen de var. Ancak ben Adli Tip Kurumu baskanliginda yetismis bir hekim oldugum ve Cerrahpasa Psikiyatri’de uzun sureler calismis oldugum icin beklenen bir akibet olarak Istanbul’dakileri tanidim. Hepimizin hocasi olmus ya da hic olmazsa isimlerini duymus oldugunuz bes hocamizi, bu kitabin basinda onlarin vakalari uzerinden anmak istedim. Kendilerini uzun sureler birlikte calisma, talebesi olma, asistanligini yapma serefine erisen bircok adli tip uzmanindan bir tanesiyim sadece. Onlarin naklettikleri, muayeneleri sirasinda yanlarinda bulundugum ya da ozellikle onemseyip etrafa anlattiklari bircok vakadan birer tane secerek onlarin anisina bu kitabin baslangicina koymak istedim. Kendilerini minnet, sukran icinde ve hurmetle aniyorum.

Bu araştırmanın amacı Fen Bilimleri öğretmenlerinin Covid-19 salgını 2020 Bahar döneminde ülkemizde yürütülen “uzaktan eğitim” çalışmaları hakkındaki düşüncelerini tespit etmektir. Çalışmaya katılan 10 öğretmenin deneyimlerini ortaya çıkarmak amacıyla araştırmada nitel yöntemlerden “örnek olay çalışması” kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada görev alacak öğretmenler belirlenirken “amaçlı örnekleme” tekniğinden yararlanılmıştır. Öğretmenlerin süreçte “uzaktan eğitim deneyimlerini” tespit etmeye yönelik 12 açık uçlu soru hazırlanmıştır. Öğretmenler ile salgın sürecinde yüz yüze görüşmenin mümkün olmaması nedeni ile sorular katılımcılara e-posta yoluyla gönderilmiştir. Öğretmenlerin verdikleri cevaplardan elde edilen veriler içerik analizi kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Bulgular incelendiğinde öğretmenler EBA’yı bu süreçte aktif olarak kullandıklarını, “canlı ders” uygulamasının başlamasıyla da uzaktan eğitimin daha verimli hale geldiğini ifade etmişlerdir. Öğretmenler ilk zamanlarda sistemden kaynaklanan teknik sıkıntılar yaşamış olmalarına rağmen, daha sonra bu sıkıntıların kısmen ortadan kalktığını ifade etmişlerdir. Öğretmenler için en önemli problem internet, bilgisayar, akıllı telefonu olmayan öğrencilerin uzaktan eğitim sürecinden faydalanamaması olmuştur. Öğretmenler önümüzdeki dönemlerde yüz yüze eğitime alternatif “tamamlayıcı eğitimin” hep var olması gerektiğini ifade etmişlerdir. Canlı dersler ilk başladığı zamanlarda tedirginlik yaşayan öğretmenlere bu konuda sonraki süreçte “hizmet içi eğitimlerin” düzenlenmesi gerektiği ifade edilmiştir. Sonuç olarak, okulların 2020 Güz döneminde açılması durumunda idareci, öğretmen ve öğrencilerin virüsün bulaşıcılığını azaltmak amacı ile dikkat etmesi gereken durumlar öneriler halinde listelenmiştir.

Matbaanin icadiyla varolusunu saglam temellere oturtan kitabin gelecegi, her ne kadar yeni buluslarin yorungesine tasinmis olsa da, daha uzun sure hayatimizda yer edinecegi muhakkaktir.

Bu çalışmada İşyerinde Mizah Yoluyla Başa Çıkma Ölçeği’nin Türkçe’ye uyarlama, güvenilirlik ve geçerlilik çalışmaları yapılmıştır. Öncelikle, Türkçe’ye çevrilen Ölçek maddeleri İngiliz dili uzmanları tarafından değerlendirilmiştir ve öneriler doğrultusunda gerekli düzenlemeler yapılmıştır. Ardından, Türkiye’de hizmet sektöründe çalışmakta olan 403 beyaz yakalı çalışandan veri toplanmıştır. Sonuçlara göre, Ölçek hem bir bütün olarak hem alt boyutları kapsamında yüksek bir iç tutarlılık katsayısına sahiptir. Doğrulayıcı faktör analizi, Ölçeğin hem dört boyutlu yapısını hem tek boyutlu yapısını desteklemiştir. Ölçekten elde edilen puanlarla, iki benzer ölçekten (Mizah Yoluyla Başa Çıkma Ölçeği ve Mizah Tarzları Ölçeği) elde edilen puanlar arasındaki korelasyon katsayıları ölçeğin ölçüt geçerliliğinin bulunduğunu göstermiştir. Bu araştırmanın sonuçları İşyerinde Mizah Yoluyla Başa Çıkma Ölçeği’nin güvenilir ve geçerli olduğunu göstermektedir; ancak Ölçek Türkçe’ye yeni kazandırılmış olduğundan, farklı örneklem gruplarında yeniden test edilmesi önerilmiştir. Ayrıca Ölçeğin alt boyutları ile farklı mizah tarzları arasındaki korelasyon katsayıları ışığında Tartışma bölümünde değerlendirmeler yapılmış, gelecek araştırmalar için önerilerde bulunulmuştur.

In this study, macro-capsules were developed by encapsulating epoxy and hardener agents for macro-level structural healing. Obtained macro-capsules were placed into an aluminum honeycomb core to obtain self-healable sandwich structures. In principle, the aim was to self-repair damaged sandwich structures by breaking the macro-capsules with the resulting leak of healing agents into the cells of the core. The developed sandwich structure was subjected to repetitive quasi-static compression and high strain rate compression impact tests. According to the experimental results, the sandwich structure gained a very effective self-healing facility and maintained this property under multiple repetitive loadings. In addition, the energy absorption capacity of honeycomb aluminum sandwich structures was increased by approximately 80% under both quasi-static and high-speed impact loads.

Bu araştırmanın amacı otantik liderlik ile yöneticiye güven arasındaki yordayıcı ilişkiyi incelemektir. Araştırma verileri, çeşitli mesleklerde ve sektörlerde çalışan 104 kişilik bir örneklem grubundan toplulukçu kültürden Türkiye’de toplanmıştır. Araştırma kapsamında verileri toplamak için mevcut ölçekler kullanılmıştır. Çalışanlar on ifadeli tek faktör çözümlü yöneticiye güven ölçeğini ve onaltı ifadeli dört faktör çözümlü otantik liderlik ölçeğini doldurmuşlardır. Araştırma hipotezini test etmek için yapısal eşitlik modellemesi uygulanmıştır. Yapısal eşitlik modellemesi sonuçları otantik liderlik ile yöneticiye güven arasında güçlü olumlu ilişkinin var olduğunu göstermiştir. This study aims to investigate the relationships between organizational cultures, spirit at work, and organization based self-esteem among academicians, and whether organization based self-esteem mediates the relationship between organizational culture and spirit at work. A cross-sectional design was employed, and data were collected through a questionnaire-based survey. Based on the convenience sampling, 417 academicians answered the questionnaire in public and private universities located in Turkey. To analyze the data descriptive statistics, Pearson coefficient, simple and multiple regression analyses were conducted. Feminine organizational culture has more positive contribution on experiencing spirit at work than masculine organizational culture. Moreover, organization based self-esteem does not mediate the relationship between types of organizational culture and spirit at work. Results suggest that organizations hoping to enhance their employee‟s spirit at work could focalize creating an organizational environment that fosters employee spirit at work. The originality of this paper is that it creates awareness and emphasizes potential contributors that foster an individual‟s experience of spirit at work.

One of the purposes of this study is to develop and test the factor structure of a multidimensional Needs for Meaning Scale (NFMS) and another purpose is to investigate the contribution of needs for meaning fulfillment on experiencing meaning in life by using self-determination theory. Baumeister asserts that meaning in life can be established with the possession of four needs for meaning: need for purpose, need for values and justification, need for efficacy, need for self-worth. To measure NFM, 33-itemed NFMS is constructed. Meaning in life was measured through the Purpose in Life (PIL) test. The data were gathered conveniently from 355 individuals. Both the NFMS and PIL test were investigated through confirmatory factor analyses (CFA) before two structural models were tested. The data were analyzed by means of a SEM analysis using AMOS program. Three different models of NFMS were tested. CFA confirmed four dimensions of NFMS in both a first- and second-order solutions. Additionally, both structural models had a good fit to data and indicated that needs for meaning fulfillment has positive contribution on meaning in life. The fulfillment of need for purpose emerged as the most important predictor of meaning in life. The findings were discussed in the light of explanatory power of the dimensions of needs for meaning on meaning in life., Bu araştırmanın amaçları çok boyutlu Anlam İhtiyacı ölçeğini geliştirmek, faktör yapısını belirlemek ve kendini belirleme kuramını kullanarak anlam ihtiyacı doyumunun yaşamın anlamı üzerindeki katkısını incelemektir. Baumeister, anlamlı yaşamın dört adet anlam ihtiyacına (amaç ihtiyacı, değerler ve meşrulaştırma ihtiyacı, yeterlilik ihtiyacı, öz-değer ihtiyacı) sahip olma ile ortaya çıkabileceğini ileri sürmektedir. Anlam ihtiyacını ölçmek için 33 ifadeli anlam ihtiyacı ölçeği geliştirilmiştir. Yaşamın anlamı, Yaşamda Amaç testi ile ölçülmüştür. Veriler kolayda ulaşılabilir örneklem yöntemi ile 355 kişiden toplanmıştır. Anlam ihtiyacı ölçeğinin ve yaşamda amaç testinin yapısal modelleri test edilmeden önce ölçekler doğrulayıcı faktör analizi (DFA) ile incelenmiştir. Veriler AMOS programı kullanılarak yapısal eşitlik modellemesi aracılığı ile analiz edilmiştir. Anlam ihtiyacı ölçeğinin üç farklı modellemesi test edilmiştir. DFA, dört boyutlu anlam ihtiyacı ölçeğinin tek faktör ve iki faktör çözümünü doğrulamıştır. Ek olarak, her iki yapısal model data ile iyi uyuma sahip olup, anlam ihtiyacı doyumunun yaşamın anlamı üzerinde olumlu katkıya sahip olduğunu göstermiştir. Amaç ihtiyacı doyumunun yaşamın anlamlandırılmasında en önemli yordayıcı olduğu ortaya çıkmıştır. Bulgular, anlam ihtiyacı boyutlarının yaşamın anlamı üzerindeki açıklayıcılık gücünün ışığında tartışılmıştır.

This study aims; to explore leaders’ perceived cultural intelligence, employees’ diversity climate perception and employees’ openness to experience; investigate their effects on organizational cynicism as a negative employee behavior and to emphasize the importance of diversity management. Data were collected from 160 employees working at hotels using a survey instrument. The structured survey instrument included measurements of cultural intelligence, diversity climate perception, organizational cynicism, openness to experience, and several demographic items. To identify the relationship among the study variables, correlation and regression analysis were conducted. The results of the study suggested that employees’ organizational climate perception mediates the relationship between leaders’ cultural intelligence and organizational cynicism. Employees’ openness to experience did not have a moderating effect on the relationship between leaders’ perceived cultural intelligence and employees’ diversity climate perception. This study provides a unique theoretical contribution by examining the effect of leaders’ perceived cultural intelligence on cynicism in a comprehensive model and testing employees’ diversity climate perception as a mediating variable. Developing cultural intelligence of employees and managing diversity effectively in organizations through human resources practices are among the practical solutions of the study.

Amaç: Buaraştırmanın amacı, anlamlı iş ile yaşamın anlamı arasındaki ilişkiyiincelemektir. Tasarım/Yöntem: Verianket yöntemi ve kesitsel tasarım ile toplanmıştır. Kolayda örnekleme yolu ilefarklı sektörlere ait farklı firmalardan 237 çalışan anketi cevaplamıştır.Verilerin analizi için tanımlayıcı istatistik, Pearson katsayısı, regresyonuygulanmıştır. Sonuçlar: Analizler, anlamlı iş ile anlamlı yaşamarasında olumlu bir ilişki olduğunu göstermiştir. The purpose of this study is to analyze the mediating effects of affective commitment in the relationship between person-organization fit and organizational identification. The paper develops a conceptual framework based on a theory and literature review. Person-organization fit was approached as the degree of similarity between the personal values and organizational values. The group of participants is employees from different companies that belong to different sectors. Research scale was answered by 285 participants and statistical package is used to test hypothesis and research questions. According to results of regression analysis, the mediating variable role of affective commitment is supported in the relationship between person-organization fit and organizational identification. The findings imply that managers should pay attention the person-organization value fit when selecting new employees.

This study was designed to adapt into Turkish the “Early Childhood Teachers’ Attitudes towards Science Teaching Scale” developed by Hyung-Sook-Cho et al. (2003). The research data were collected from teachers, working with children at the age group of six in public or private nursery schools or nursery classes affiliated with the Ministry of National Education, in Ankara and Malatya, Turkey. For validity testing, factor analysis and item analysis were conducted; and for reliability testing, internal consistency and test-retest reliability methods were used. The findings of these tests demonstrate that the validity and reliability of the scale are at a sufficient level.
