- Abstract
With the objective of determining the optimal number of fruits in three melon hybrids, subjected to different intensities of fruit pruning, a trial was implemented in a 1000 m2 greenhouse. The treatments were housed in a completely randomized experimental design in a 3 x 3 factorial arrangement with nine treatments. Two factors were evaluated, Factor, three melon hybrids [H1: Harper U.G. (Harper melon melon), H2: Western Shipper (Clause # 19)] and H3: Western Shipper (Super Toreto melon melon)], and Factor B, number of fruits/plant (T1: One fruit/plant, T2: Two fruits/plant and T3: Three or more fruits/plant). The variables evaluated were: plant height, stem diameter, length, width, height, volume, weight, and brix degrees (°Brix) of the fruits; and, an estimate of the cost/benefit through partial budgets. The results showed an outstanding effect for length, height, width and fruit volume for plants with one fruit (2.77 kg). The hybrid Harper U.G. It had an outstanding effect on fruit volume and weight. The hybrids showed a soluble solids content between 4.22 to 7.77° Brix, considered between moderate and high. Plants with two fruits were more profitable and of better quality.

- Abstract
Problem-Based Learning (PBL) is one of the educational methodologies that have been well accepted in university educational institutions. It is an active learning process that works by solving problems related to the interaction of students and their professional environment. The essence of Problem Based Learning consists in identifying, describing, analyzing and solving such problems, which is achieved with the help of the teacher, thus playing another role both the teaching-learning process and the students. One way in which this methodology has recently been incorporated into the engineering career classroom has been through theoretical work that students discuss. For example, they discuss the results of a recent scientific article in particular, of which they must analyze the proposals presented and that are related to the problems analyzed and solved in mathematics classes. The main objectives are to implement Problem Based Learning in mathematics classes as part of the methodologies that teachers have at their disposal and to involve students in science and engineering research related to Agriculture; The main goal is for students to present their results both in article publications, student forums, in national congresses and integrating knowledge projects, as a product of the application of Problem-Based Learning in the teaching-learning process., El Aprendizaje Basado en Problemas (ABP) es una de las metodologías educativas que han tenido buena aceptación en instituciones educativas universitarias.

- Abstract
The research was carried out in Jipijapa in the town of Andil, the objective was to evaluate the physiological and morphological behavior of Arabic coffee in the nursery stage to the application of biostimulants: Starlite, Humega, Micorriza and Evergreen, compared to Urea. The experimental design was applied completely at random, factorial arrangement of repetitions over time in the morphological variables was used, the Tukey test was applied based on the statistical differences found. The results obtained at the physiological level, established a significant difference p <0.05 in the variables dry matter, humidity and nitrogen (N), with the biostimulants Starlite and Evergreen being the best in MS, and to the Humega and Evergreen in content of N. There was a better response to the assimilation of chlorophyll by all biostimulants, generally exceeding urea, being the best Micorriza and Starlite, establishing a high positive correlation between N and Chlorophyll.
