Novel series of isoxazoline derivatives containing 1,4-benzothiazin-3-one ring (6a-h) were synthesized via 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition reactions of arylnitrile oxides 5a-d on 4-allyl-2-(substituted)-1,4-benzothiazin-3-ones 3 and 4 led to polyheterocyclic. Systems. During our work, we mainly focused on the reactivity of nitrile oxides with carbon-carbon extracyclic double bond of the allyl group. The reaction leads exclusively to cycloadducts 6a-h with a good yield. The compounds were characterized using s spectral data (1H-NMR, 13C-NMR) and for some structures were also confirmed via single-crystal X-ray diffraction techniques. Density functional theory (DFT) optimized structures at the B3LYP/ 6–311G(d,p) level are compared with the experimentally determined molecular structure in the solid-state. The HOMO—LUMO behavior was elucidated. The results are in agreement with the experimental data. The newly synthesized compounds 1, 2, 3, 4, 6a-g using cycloaddition reactions were evaluated in vitro for their antibacterial activities against some Gram-positive and Gram-negative microbial strains. Several compounds tested showed significant activity.

Fruits and vegetables are essential for human health due to their nutritional qualities, but the consumption of raw foods leads to food safety problems as they are recognized as sources of transmission of infectious diseases. The objective of this work is to assess the microbiological quality of some fruits and vegetables marketed in the Kenitra city. The samples were purchased at the fruit and vegetable markets during the period from April to July 2018.The detection of microorganisms in the samples requires several steps which are weighing, dilution, isolation, enumeration and 'identification. The results of the microbiological analysis of fruits and vegetables studied show significant concentrations of the total aerobic mesophilic flora varies between 2.25 and 8.48 log10 CFU / ml, Concerning total coliforms the contamination rates vary between 1.92 and 8.42 log10UFC / ml, as well as the presence of fecal coliforms between 1.13 and 8.05 log10UFC / ml, in the same samples analyzed, strains such as: Escherichia coli, staphylococcus aureus and a total absence of salmonella and shegilla. In order to improve the safety and hygienic quality of fruits and vegetables, the application of good hygienic practices as well as continuous microbial quality control is necessary to protect the health of consumers.

88 samples of traditional and industrial table olives were collected from various outlets in the city of Tetouan. The physical-chemical controls concerned: pH , ORP (oxydo-reducing potential) and TDE (total dry extract). The microbiological side are: total aerobic mesophilic flora ( TAMB), total coliforms (TC), Staphylococcus aureus (SA) and lactic bacteria (LB) with an identification of the most predominant enterobacteria species and their sensitivity. Also to investigate the antimicrobial activity of Olive (Olea europaea L.) .The obtained results for traditional olives far exceed food hygiene standards, especially when 29.20% of traditional samples are too loaded in TAMB and TC and 16.5% are contaminated with SA. This shows that good hygiene practices are not respected. As for industrial olives, the averages in TAMB and SA are below the thresholds set by the standards, and only 19.8% are contaminated with TC which indicates the compliance of the majority of industrial type. Black table olives are the most contaminated. The identification results of coliforms extracted from traditional olives show the predominance of Citrobacter freundii and klebsiella pneumoniae .The sensitivity test shows that 80% of Enterobacteriaceae tested were sensitive to all antibiotics.The result showed that the ethanolic extrats was active against all bacteria.

This study we have conducted an ethnobotanical survey and antimicrobial activity in Tetouan province to identify the use of the famous plant species in traditional medicine : fig tree and Olive and follow-up of antimicrobial activity during three stages for green, pink and black olives and mixing activity of olive and fig extracts. 80 questionnaire sheets were done during April-June 2019, and the method of diffusion was used for the antimicrobial activity.Bacteria and yeasts were used: Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Klebsiella pneumoniae, E.coli and Candida albicans. The results revealed that 32% of farmers use olive oil for the initial treatment of respiratory diseases, and 22% use it for digestive system problems and 13% use it as a treatment of the nervous system.However, fig tree is used against insect bites, as an inhibitor of the growth of certain cancerous tumors, diabetes and certain viral infections. The ethanol extracts showed good inhibitory effects against most strains of bacteria and yeast. Also for the majority of strains tested, it was found that in December (black olive), activity is stronger, and that the mixture of ethanol extracts with ethanol extracts of fig tree it strengthened them.

Background: Latent TB infection (LTBI) affects one fourth of the global population. Currently, there is an absence of an optimal strategy for distinguishing between active tuberculosis (aTB) and LTBI. While some researchers have explored cytokines other than interferon-gamma (IFN-γ) as biomarkers, results have shown significant variability in their ability to differentiate between these conditions. This meta-analysis aims to evaluate the performance of activation phenotype and chemokine markers in distinguishing between aTB and LTBI., Objectives: To assess the diagnostic accuracy of specific biomarkers (HLA-DR + IFNγ + , CD38 + IFNγ + , MCP-1, and RANTES) in differentiating aTB from LTBI., Design: This study was conducted in accordance with the PRISMA guidelines for systematic reviews and meta-analyses of diagnostic studies., Data Sources and Methods: We conducted a comprehensive search of PubMed, Scopus, Sciences Direct, and Web of Science for primary studies published in English up to 2023. Studies were included if they reported sensitivity, specificity, diagnostic odds ratio (DOR), and area under the curve (AUC) for the biomarkers in question. We calculated pooled diagnostic sensitivity, specificity, DOR, and AUC, and used the summary receiver operating characteristic curve (SROC) to summarize the diagnostic performance of each biomarker., Results: Sixteen studies involving 1696 participants were included in the analysis. Among them, 925 individuals were diagnosed with aTB, while 771 were classified as having LTBI. The specificity, sensitivity, DOR, and AUC for CD38 + IFNγ + , HLA-DR + IFNγ + , RANTES, and MCP-1 were (0.97 [95% CI: 0.72-1.00], 0.90 [95% CI: 0.75-0.96], 291.863, and 0.9432), (0.90 [95% CI: 0.70-0.97], 0.83 [95% CI: 0.63-0.94], 41.819, and 0.8598), (0.68 [95% CI: 0.55-0.79], 0.72 [95% CI: 0.56-0.84], 5.733, and 0.7979), and (0.63 [95% CI: 0.54-0.72], 0.63 [95% CI: 0.50-0.75], 2.892, and 0.7290) respectively., Conclusion: The findings indicate that CD38 + IFNγ + and HLA-DR + IFNγ + demonstrated the highest diagnostic accuracy. Several rural Moroccan people depend on natural remedies such as Smen (ghee) before visiting a health center due to their low cost and accessibility. However, knowledge of Smen traditional medicine is not documented but rather transferred orally from generation to generation. This is the first qualitative ethnomedicinal study that provides and documents information about the medicinal use of Smen in Northern Morocco. The present study aimed to investigate and gather information on the traditional medicinal practices of using Smen among rural people in Northern Morocco for a document and suggest the exploration of this product and its bioactive compounds in medical applications. The investigation was carried out by conducting individual semistructured interviews with 630 elderly people from March to April 2022. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and expressed as a percentage of responses to each question in the survey. The study revealed that 66.5% of the people surveyed were aware of the medical benefits of Smen , which had been passed down from their ancestors. It has been used to treat hemorrhoids, common colds, detoxification, rheumatism, and wound/burn injuries. This study showed that Moroccan's ethnomedicinal knowledge is closely related to Ayurveda, ancient Indian traditional medicine. For centuries, Smen has been used traditionally for medical purposes, just as it has been used in cooking. The diversity of ghee medicinal use in Northern Morocco could contribute to the discovery and development of ghee-based drugs, which have fewer side effects.

Bordetella holmesii is a bacterium recently recognized in 1995. It is a gram-negative coccobacillus that can cause pertussis-like symptoms in humans as well as invasive infections. It is often confused with Bordetella pertussis because routine diagnostic tests for whooping cough are not species-specific. The prevalence of B. holmesii as a cause of pertussis has increased in several countries. Graphene quantum dots (GQDs) are promising biomaterials with potential applicability in several areas due to their many useful and unique features. Among different applications, GQDs are photodynamic therapy agents that generate single oxygen and improve antimicrobial activity. In the present study, and for the first time, GQD were isolated from the Cannabis sativa L. seeds to generate C-GQDs as a new biomaterial for antibacterial and wound healing applications. Detailed characterization was performed using FTIR, UV-vis, Raman spectra, photoluminescence, TEM examination, HRTEM, ζ-potential, and XRD. Our results revealed in vitro and in vivo antibacterial activity of C-GQDs against Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus) and Escherichia coli (E. coli) with reduced minimal inhibitory concentration of 236 µg/mL for both strains. In addition, the C-GQDs confirmed the in vitro analysis and exhibited anti-inflammatory activity by reducing the level of neutrophils in blood and skin tissue. C-GQDs act by accelerating re-epithelization and granulation tissue formation. In addition, C-GQDs restored neurobehavioral alteration induced by incisional wounds by reducing oxidative stress, decreasing cortisol levels, increasing anxiolytic-like effect, and increasing vertical locomotor activity. Background: A novel series of 1,2,3-triazole derivatives containing 1,4-benzothiazin-3-one ring (7a-9a, 7b-9b), (10a-12a, 10b-12b) and (13-15) were synthesized by 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition reactions of azides α-D-galactopyranoside azide F, 2,3,4,6-tetra-O-acetyl-(D)-glucopyranosyl azide G and methyl-N-benzoyl-α-azidoglycinate H with compounds 4-6., Findings: Initially, the reactions were conducted under thermal conditions in ethanol. The reaction leads, each time, to the formation of two regioisomers: (Schemes 2, 3) with yields of 17 to 21% for 1,5-disubstituted 1,2,3-triazole-regioisomers (7b-12b) and yields ranging from 61 to 65% for the 1,4-disubstituted regioisomers (7a-12a). In order to report an unequivocal synthesis of the 1,4-regioisomers and confirm the structures of the two regioisomers obtained in thermal conditions (Huisgen reactions), the method click chemistry (Copper-Catalyzed Azide-Alkyne Cycloaddition) has been used., Conclusions: The newly synthesized compounds using cycloaddition reactions were evaluated in vitro for their antibacterial activities against some Gram positive and Gram negative microbial strains. Among the compounds tested, the compound 8a showed excellent antibacterial activities against PA ATCC and Acin ESBL (MIC = 31.2 μg/ml).

Cereal products (soft and hard wheat) are a basic staple food in the Moroccan diet. A total of 60 samples of two types of wheat flours used for human consumption were collected; 30 samples among this collection were obtained from various households using Moroccan varieties of wheat produced in traditional flour mills. The rest of the samples were purchased from retail wheat flour sources in the Rabat and Sale city markets. Standard plate counts (SPC), total and faecal coliforms, Clostridium, Salmonella spp., Shigella spp., Staphylococcus aureus, Listeria monocytogenes, yeast, lactic acid bacteria, and molds, were carried out to assess the microbiological quality of wheat flour. Microbiological interpretation of the criteria was performed according to standards implemented by the Codex Alimentarius Commission. Most frequent counts, in traditional and industrial wheat flour, were total aerobic mesophilic bacteria with an average 4 × 104 and 2.5 × 104 cfu/g, respectively. The results showed higher coliform and fungi counts in house than in commercial samples. Pathogenic flora as Salmonella spp., Shigella spp., S. aureus, L. monocytogenes, and Clostridium were not detected in all investigated samples. Bacterial strains isolated from both flours belong to the following genera: Enterobacter spp., Serratia spp., Klebsiella spp., Pantoea spp., Leclercia spp., Proteus spp. The most frequent genus of the investigated isolates was Aspergillus (81 %). Microbial counts were lower than the limit laid down in the Codex Alimentarius, attributing to these flours a satisfactory microbiological quality.
