Abstract Background The prevalence of burnout, depression, and anxiety among Chinese nurses was 34%, 55.5%, and 41.8% respectively. Mental health problems have significant impacts on their personal well-being, work performance, patient care quality, and the overall healthcare system. Mental health is influenced by factors at multiple levels and their interactions. Methods This was a descriptive qualitative study using phenomenological approach. We recruited a total of 48 nurses from a tertiary hospital in Changsha, Hunan Province, China. Data were collected through focus group interviews. Audio-recorded data were transcribed and inductively analysed. Results Four major themes with 13 subthemes were identified according to the social ecological model: (1) individual-level factors, including personality traits, sleep quality, workplace adaptability, and years of work experience; (2) interpersonal-level factors, encompassing interpersonal support and role conflict; (3) organization-level factors, such as organizational climate, organizational support, career plateau, and job control; and (4) social-level factors, which included compensation packages, social status, and legislative provision and policy. Conclusions Our study provides a nuanced understanding of the multifaceted factors influencing nurses’ mental health. Recognizing the interconnectedness of individual, interpersonal, organizational, and social elements is essential for developing targeted interventions and comprehensive strategies to promote and safeguard the mental well-being of nurses in clinical settings. Abstract Background Cell‐free long RNAs in human plasma and extracellular vesicles (EVs) have shown promise as biomarkers in liquid biopsy, despite their fragmented nature. Methods To investigate these fragmented cell‐free RNAs (cfRNAs), we developed a cost‐effective cfRNA sequencing method called DETECTOR‐seq (depletion‐assisted multiplexed cell‐free total RNA sequencing). DETECTOR‐seq utilised a meticulously tailored set of customised guide RNAs to remove large amounts of unwanted RNAs (i.e., fragmented ribosomal and mitochondrial RNAs) in human plasma. Early barcoding strategy was implemented to reduce costs and minimise plasma requirements. Results Using DETECTOR‐seq, we conducted a comprehensive analysis of cell‐free transcriptomes in both whole human plasma and EVs. Our analysis revealed discernible distributions of RNA types in plasma and EVs. Plasma exhibited pronounced enrichment in structured circular RNAs, tRNAs, Y RNAs and viral RNAs, while EVs showed enrichment in messenger RNAs (mRNAs) and signal recognition particle RNAs (srpRNAs). Functional pathway analysis highlighted RNA splicing‐related ribonucleoproteins (RNPs) and antimicrobial humoral response genes in plasma, while EVs demonstrated enrichment in transcriptional activity, cell migration and antigen receptor‐mediated immune signals. Our study indicates the comparable potential of cfRNAs from whole plasma and EVs in distinguishing cancer patients (i.e., colorectal and lung cancer) from healthy donors. And microbial cfRNAs in plasma showed potential in classifying specific cancer types. Conclusions Our comprehensive analysis of total and EV cfRNAs in paired plasma samples provides valuable insights for determining the need for EV purification in cfRNA‐based studies. We envision the cost effectiveness and efficiency of DETECTOR‐seq will empower transcriptome‐wide investigations in the fields of cfRNAs and liquid biopsy. Keypoints DETECTOR‐seq (depletion‐assisted multiplexed cell‐free total RNA sequencing) enabled efficient and specific depletion of sequences derived from fragmented ribosomal and mitochondrial RNAs in plasma. Distinct human and microbial cell‐free RNA (cfRNA) signatures in whole Plasma versus extracellular vesicles (EVs) were revealed. Both Plasma and EV cfRNAs were capable of distinguishing cancer patients from normal individuals, while microbial RNAs in Plasma cfRNAs enabled better classification of cancer types than EV cfRNAs.

Background Critically ill patients in the intensive care unit (ICU) often experience dysglycaemia. However, studies investigating the link between acute kidney injury (AKI) and dysglycaemia, especially in those with and without diabetes mellitus (DM), are limited.Methods We used the Medical Information Mart for Intensive Care IV database to investigate the association between AKI within 7 days of admission and subsequent dysglycaemia. The primary outcome was the occurrence of dysglycaemia (both hypoglycemia and hyperglycemia) after 7 days of ICU admission. Logistic regression analyzed the relationship between AKI and dysglycaemia, while a Cox proportional hazards model estimated the long-term mortality risk linked to the AKI combined with dysglycaemia.Results A cohort of 20,008 critically ill patients were included. The AKI group demonstrated a higher prevalence of dysglycaemia, compared to the non-AKI group. AKI patients had an increased risk of dysglycaemia (adjusted odds ratio [aOR] 1.53, 95% confidence interval [CI] 1.41–1.65), hypoglycemia (aOR 1.56, 95% CI 1.41–1.73), and hyperglycemia (aOR 1.53, 95% CI 1.41–1.66). Objectives: The study aimed to investigate the relationship between blood pressure (BP) levels and mortality among critically ill older adults in the intensive care unit (ICU), establish optimal BP target for this population, and assess the mediating effect of severe malnutrition on BP-related mortality. Methods: Data were extracted from the Medical Information Mart for Intensive Care IV version 2.2 database, focusing on critically ill patients aged 80 years and older. The analysis included various BP parameters, such as systolic BP (SBP), diastolic BP (DBP), and mean arterial pressure (MAP). Results: The study cohort comprised 14,660 critically ill patients, of whom 1558 (10.6 %) experienced ICU mortality and 2493 (17.0 %) experienced in-hospital mortality. Lower BP levels (SBP ≤ 112 mmHg; DBP ≤ 53 mmHg; MAP ≤65 mmHg), were associated with an increased risk of both ICU and in-hospital mortality. Notably, only reduced SBP levels were linked to a higher risk of 1-year mortality, with an adjusted hazard ratio 1.13 (95 % confidence interval 1.05 to 1.23). Additionally, severe malnutrition was identified as a mediator in the relationship between low BP levels and ICU mortality, with BP levels positively correlated with prognostic nutritional indexes. Conclusion: Among critically ill older adults, lower BP levels are significantly associated with higher risks of ICU and in-hospital mortality, while reduced SBP levels are linked to 1-year mortality. These findings emphasize the importance of assessing nutritional status in older ICU patients with low BP levels to potentially mitigate mortality risk.

Aims: The relationship between sarcopenia and cognitive impairment in older adults remains contentious. This study investigates this association and examines the long-term prognosis for individuals with both conditions. Methods: Utilizing data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) from 2011 to 2014, this study focuses on the correlation between sarcopenia and cognitive impairment, as well as the extended prognosis for individuals managing these conditions. Results: The study cohort comprised 2890 participants, with 648 (22.4 %) diagnosed with sarcopenia. Multivariable logistic regression analysis identified a significant association between sarcopenia and an increased risk of cognitive impairment (adjusted odds ratio [aOR]: 1.68, 95 % confidence interval [CI]: 1.30–2.17). Over a median follow-up period of 48 months, 200 individuals (6.9 %) succumbed to cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases (CCVDs), including hypertension, congestive heart failure, coronary artery disease, and stroke, as well as Alzheimer's disease (AD). Participants had comorbid conditions such as CCVDs and diabetes mellitus. Kaplan–Meier survival analysis and the Cox proportional hazards model indicated that individuals with both sarcopenia and cognitive impairment had the highest mortality risk from CCVDs and AD (adjusted hazard ratio [aHR]: 2.73, 95 % CI: 1.48–5.02). Individuals with sarcopenia and comorbidities exhibited a higher mortality risk from CCVDs or AD compared to those without sarcopenia but with comorbidities (aHR: 2.71, 95 % CI: 1.37–5.37). Conclusion: Sarcopenia is independently associated with cognitive impairment. Older adults with both sarcopenia and cognitive impairment or concurrent comorbidities face increased mortality risks from CCVDs or AD compared to their healthy counterparts. Clinical implication: • Sarcopenia is associated with cognitive impairment. • Cognitive impairment and comorbidities increased the risk of mortality from CCVDs and AD for sarcopenia patients.

Abstract Background Psychiatric nurses play a crucial role in treating and supporting adolescents with non-suicidal self-injury (NSSI) in China. However, few studies have explored their experiences and challenges. Objectives The aim of this qualitative study was to describe the challenges experienced by psychiatric nurses when working with adolescents having NSSI behaviors. Methods This was a descriptive qualitative study using phenomenological approach. 18 psychiatric nurses from psychiatric wards were recruited from a tertiary hospital from Changsha, Hunan province, China. In-depth interview was performed for each participant collecting information about their feelings and experiences taking care of NSSI adolescents. ATLAS.ti 8 was used to enter data and perform thematic analysis following the six-phased process described by Braun and Clarke. Results Two main themes and five sub-themes were summarized in this study. Nurses experienced both (1) Internal challenges (Lacking knowledge and skills to deal with NSSI adolescents and Feeling hard and stressful working with NSSI adolescents) and (2) External barriers (Unrealistic high expectations from family and schools, Uncooperative parents and Little help from communities and schools). Conclusions Psychiatric nurses had to face with their own negative feelings, insufficient knowledge and skills, alongside with pressures and little help from family, schools and communities when working with NSSI adolescents. Targeted training programs of treating NSSI adolescents and their supporting systems be performed in nurses, furthermore, family, schools and societies should also be raised.

During the drying and processing of raisins, the presence of foreign matter such as fruit stems, branches, stones, and plastics is a common issue. To address this, we propose an enhanced real-time detection approach leveraging an improved YOLOv8 model. This novel method integrates the multi-head self-attention mechanism (MHSA) from BoTNet into YOLOv8’s backbone. In the model’s neck layer, selected C2f modules have been strategically replaced with RFAConv modules. The model also adopts an EIoU loss function in place of the original CIoU. Our experiments reveal that the refined YOLOv8 boasts a precision of 94.5%, a recall rate of 89.9%, and an F1-score of 0.921, with a mAP reaching 96.2% at the 0.5 IoU threshold and 81.5% across the 0.5–0.95 IoU range. For this model, comprising 13,177,692 parameters, the average time required for detecting each image on a GPU is 7.8 milliseconds. In contrast to several prevalent models of today, our enhanced model excels in mAP0.5 and demonstrates superiority in F1-score, parameter economy, computational efficiency, and speed. This study conclusively validates the capability of our improved YOLOv8 model to execute real-time foreign object detection on raisin production lines with high efficacy.

Background: Hypochloremia and red blood cell distribution width (RDW) play important roles in congestive heart failure (CHF) pathophysiology, and they were associated with the prognosis of CHF. However, the prognostic value of chloride combined with RDW in patients with CHF remains unknown. Methods: We retrospectively analyzed critically ill patients with CHF. The database was derived from the Medical Information Mart for Intensive Care IV v2.0 (MIMIC-IV-v2.0) database. Results: In the final analysis, 5376 critically ill patients with CHF were included, and 2428 patients (45.2 %) experienced 5-year mortality. The restricted cubic spline model revealed a positive correlation between RDW and 5-year mortality, whereas chloride showed a U-shaped correlation with 5-year mortality. The median values of RDW and chloride were used to classify patients into four groups: high chloride/low RDW, low chloride/low RDW, high chloride/high RDW, and low chloride/high RDW. We observed the prognostic value of RDW combined with chloride in the Cox proportional hazard model, in predicting 5-year mortality, in-hospital mortality and 1-year mortality. Furthermore, we discovered that patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) had a higher 5-year mortality risk than patients without CKD. Conclusion: We found the translational potential role of chloride combined with RDW in prioritizing patients at high risk for short- and long-term mortality in a cohort of critically ill patients with CHF. Prospective multicenter investigations are warranted to validate our results.

Objective To investigate the protective effect of Dexmedetomidine (Dex) on the colon and spinal cord of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) rats with chronic functional visceral pain, and its underlying mechanism of its effects on phosphorylation of extraeellular signal regulated kinase 1 (ERK1) and cyclic adenosine monophosphate response element binding protein (CREB). Methods Forty SPF-grade male SD rats (6~8 g) were inflicted with colorectal dilatation (CRD) stimulation to establish a rat model of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). Then the animals were divided into normal group, model group, Dex group and Dex+pc group. The rats from the normal group do not do any treatment, and those of the model group, Dex group and Dex+pc group received CRD stimulation. After successful modeling, the rats in the Dex group were injected intraperitoneally with 5 μg/kg Dex hydrochloride injection daily, and those in the Dextpc group were injected intraperitoneally with 5 μg/kg Dex hydrochloride daily, as well as pc DNA3.1-CREB. The rats in the control group and model group were injected intraperitoneally with the same dose of normal saline and 100 nmol/L of pc DNA3.1-CREB-NC. TUNEL assay was used to detect cell apoptosis, real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR) was employed to detect the mRNA expression of ERK1 and CREB, and Western blotting was used to detect the expression of p-ERK1 and p-CREB in rat spinal cord tissues. Results Compared with the normal group, the cell apoptotic rate, mRNA levels of ERK1 and CREB, and expression of p-ERK1 and p-CREB in spinal cord tissues were significantly increased in the model, Dex and Dex+pc groups (P < 0.05). The Dex group and Dex+pc group had obviously lower apoptotic rate, decreased ERK1 and CREB expression at mRNA level, and reduced expression of p-ERK1 and p-CREB than the model group (P < 0.05). What's more, apoptotic rate, mRNA expression of ERK1 and CREB, and protein expression of p-ERK1 and p-CREB were notably higher in the Dex+pc group than the Dex group (P < 0.05). Conclusion Dex can significantly inhibits the apoptosis in spinal cord tissue of rats with chronic functional visceral pain. It may play a protective role in colon and spinal cord tissues by inhibiting the phosphorylation of ERK1 and CREB.

Abstract Introduction The relationship between relative hyperglycemia and ventricular arrhythmia (VA) in critically ill patients admitted to intensive care units (ICU) remains unclear. This study aims to investigate the association between stress hyperglycemia ratio (SHR) and VA in this population. Methods This retrospective and observational study analyzed data from 4324 critically ill patients admitted to the ICU, obtained from the Medical Information Mart for Intensive Care IV (MIMIC-IV) database. Summary: Background: Various studies have reported cell-free RNAs (cfRNAs) as noninvasive biomarkers for detecting hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). However, they have not been independently validated, and some results are contradictory. We provided a comprehensive evaluation of various types of cfRNA biomarkers and a full mining of the biomarker potential of new features of cfRNA. Methods: We first systematically reviewed reported cfRNA biomarkers and calculated dysregulated post-transcriptional events and cfRNA fragments. In 3 independent multicentre cohorts, we further selected 6 cfRNAs using RT-qPCR, built a panel called HCCMDP with AFP using machine learning, and internally and externally validated HCCMDP's performance. Findings: We identified 23 cfRNA biomarker candidates from a systematic review and analysis of 5 cfRNA-seq datasets. Notably, we defined the cfRNA domain to describe cfRNA fragments systematically. In the verification cohort (n = 183), cfRNA fragments were more likely to be verified, while circRNA and chimeric RNA candidates were neither abundant nor stable as qPCR-based biomarkers. In the algorithm development cohort (n = 287), we build and test the panel HCCMDP with 6 cfRNA markers and AFP. In the independent validation cohort (n = 171), HCCMDP can distinguish HCC patients from control groups (all: AUC = 0.925; CHB: AUC = 0.909; LC: AUC = 0.916), and performs well in distinguishing early-stage HCC patients (all: AUC = 0.936; CHB: AUC = 0.917; LC: AUC = 0.928). Interpretation: This study comprehensively evaluated full-spectrum cfRNA biomarker types for HCC detection, highlighted the cfRNA fragment as a promising biomarker type in HCC detection, and provided a panel HCCMDP. ObjectivesThe disorder of different types of slotting equipment occurs during the use of an automated 3D warehouse, affecting the efficiency of subsequent material support. Therefore, it is necessary to carry out research on the slotting optimization of automated 3D warehouses.MethodsFirst, a slotting optimization model is established to minimize the inventory time and distance of the same group of goods after analyzing the operation characteristics of the automated 3D warehouse. Next, in order to overcome the shortcomings of the traditional Monte Carlo Tree Search (MCTS) algorithm that tends to fall into local optimality, a simulated annealing algorithm is integrated with the MCTS algorithm to optimize the node selection operation. Finally, the improved MCTS algorithm is tested for its optimization, stability and convergence.ResultsThe improved MCTS algorithm is at least 30% more optimized than the greedy, Rubik's cube reduction and traditional MCTS algorithms in terms of slotting optimization running time. ConclusionsBy adding the optimal path random selection factor to the MCTS algorithm, it can be prevented from falling into local optimality, effectively achieving slotting optimization.

BackgroundStress hyperglycemia ratio (SHR) was developed to reduce the impact of long-term chronic glycemic factors on stress hyperglycemia levels, which have been linked to clinical adverse events. However, the relationship between SHR and the short- and long-term prognoses of intensive care unit (ICU) patients remains unclear.MethodsWe retrospectively analyzed 3,887 ICU patients (cohort 1) whose initial fasting blood glucose and hemoglobin A1c data within 24 hours of admission were available and 3,636 ICU patients (cohort 2) who were followed-up for 1-year using the Medical Information Mart for Intensive Care IV v2.0 database. Patients were divided into two groups based on the optimal cutoff value of SHR, which was determined using the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve.ResultsThere were 176 ICU deaths in cohort 1 and 378 patients experienced all-cause mortality during 1 year of follow-up in cohort 2. The results of logistic regression revealed that SHR was associated with ICU death (odds ratio 2.92 [95% confidence interval 2.14–3.97] P < 0.001), and non-diabetic patients rather than diabetic patients showed an increased risk of ICU death. As per the Cox proportional hazards model, the high SHR group experienced a higher incidence of 1-year all-cause mortality (hazard ratio 1.55 [95% confidence interval 1.26–1.90] P < 0.001). Moreover, SHR had an incremental effect on various illness scores in predicting ICU all-cause mortality.ConclusionSHR is linked to ICU death and 1-year all-cause mortality in critically ill patients, and it has an incremental predictive value in different illness scores. Moreover, we found that non-diabetic patients, rather than diabetic patients, showed an increased risk of all-cause mortality.

In this study, the effects of different soluble proteins, including collagen peptides (CP), soy protein hydrolysate (HSPI), whey protein isolate (WPI), sodium caseinate (SC), and egg white protein (EWP), on the structural and mechanical properties of blends containing soy protein isolate (SPI) and wheat gluten (WG) were investigated using high-moisture extrusion. The addition of CP and HSPI resulted in a more pronounced fibrous structure with increased voids, attributing to their plasticizing effect that enhanced polymer chain mobility and reduced viscosity. WPI, SC, and EWP acted as crosslinking agents, causing early crosslink formation and decreased polymer chain mobility. These structural variations directly influenced the tensile properties of the extrudates, with CP displaying the highest anisotropic index. Moreover, the presence of soluble proteins impacts the permeability of the extrudates. These insights shed light on how soluble proteins can be used to modify the properties of SPI-WG blends, making them suitable for meat analogue production.

The “dolomite problem”, which has confused scientists for nearly two centuries, is an important fundamental geological problem. The mineralogical characteristics of carbonate minerals show that the dolomite structure consists of an ordered arrangement of alternating layers of Ca2+ and Mg2+ cations interspersed with CO32− anion layers normal to the c-axis. The dolomite structure violates the c glide plane in the calcite structure, which means that dolomite has R3¯ space group symmetry. The ordered dolomite has superlattice XRD reflections [e.g., (101), (015) and (021)], which distinguish it from calcite and high-Mg calcite. The calculation of thermodynamic parameters shows that modern seawater has a thermodynamic tendency of dolomite precipitation and the dolomitization reaction can be carried out in standard state. However, the latest thermodynamic study shows that modern seawater is not conducive to dolomitization, and that seawater is favorable for dolomitization in only a few regions, such as Abu Dhabi, the Mediterranean and the hypersaline lagoons in Brazil. The kinetic factors of dolomite formation mainly consist of the hydration of Mg2+, the presence of sulfate and the activity of carbonate. Current studies have shown that the presence of microorganisms, exopolymeric substances (EPS), organic molecules, carboxyl and hydroxyl functional groups associated with microorganisms and organic molecules, clay minerals with negative charges and dissolved silica facilitate magnesium ions to overcome hydration and thus promote Mg2+ incorporation into growing Ca-Mg carbonates. Similarly, the metabolic activity of microorganisms is conducive to the increase in alkalinity. However, the inhibitory effect of sulfate on dolomite formation seems to be overestimated, and sulfate may even be a catalyst for dolomite formation. Combining the carbonate crystallization mechanism with thermodynamic and kinetic factors suggests that the early stage of dolomite precipitation or the dolomitization reaction may be controlled by kinetics and dominated by unstable intermediate phases, while metastable intermediate phases later transform to ordered dolomite via an Ostwald’s step rule.

Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a debilitating sequela of extraordinary traumatic sufferings that threaten personal health and dramatically attenuate the patient's quality of life. Accumulating lines of evidence suggest that functional disorders in the ventral tegmental area (VTA) dopaminergic system contribute substantially to PTSD symptomatology. Notably, music therapy has been shown to greatly ameliorate PTSD symptoms. In this literature review, we focused on whether music improved PTSD symptoms, based on VTA dopaminergic action, including the effects of music on dopamine (DA)-related gene expression, the promotion of DA release and metabolism, and the activation of VTA functional activities. In addition, the strengths and limitations of the studies concerning the results of music therapy on PTSD are discussed. Collectively, music therapy is an effective approach for PTSD intervention, in which the VTA dopaminergic system may hold an important position.

Abstract Background Myocardial infarction (MI) contributes to high mortality and morbidity and can also accelerate atherosclerosis, thus inducing recurrent event due to status changing of coronary artery walls or plaques. The research aimed to investigate the differentially expressed genes (DEGs), which may be potential therapeutic targets for plaques progression in stable coronary artery disease (CAD) and ST-elevated MI (STEMI). Methods Two human datasets (GSE56885 and GSE59867) were analyzed by GEO2R and enrichment analysis was applied through Gene Ontology (GO) and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) pathway analysis. To explore the seed genes, the protein–protein interaction (PPI) network was constructed and seed genes, as well as top30 ranking neighbours were screened out. To validate these findings, one human dataset GSE120521 was analyzed. Linear regression analysis and ROC curve were also performed to determine which seed genes above mentioned could be independent factors for plaques progression. Mice MI model and ELISA of seed genes were applied and ROC curve was also performed for in vivo validation. Results 169 DEGs and 573 DEGs were screened out in GSE56885 and GSE59867, respectively. Utilizing GO and KEGG analysis, these DEGs mainly enriched in immune system response and cytokines interaction. PPI network analysis was carried out and 19 seed genes were screened out. To validate these findings, GSE120521 was analyzed and three genes were demonstrated to be targets for plaques progression and stable CAD progression, including KLRD1, FOSL2 and LILRB3. KLRD1 and LILRB3 were demonstrated to be high-expressed at 1d after MI compared to SHAM group and FOSL2 expression was low-expressed at 1d and 1w. To investigate the diagnostic abilities of seed genes, ROC analysis was applied and the AUCs of KLRD1, FOSL2 and LILRB3, were 0.771, 0.938 and 0.972, respectively. Conclusion This study provided the screened seed genes, KLRD1, FOSL2 and LILRB3, as credible molecular biomarkers for plaques status changing in CAD progression and MI recurrence. Other seed genes, such as FOS, SOCS3 and MCL1, may also be potential targets for treatment due to their special clinical value in cardiovascular diseases.

Background: This study aimed to compare the effects of different depths of sedation during propofol anesthesia on postoperative recovery 24 h after knee arthroscopy day surgery in adult patients.Methods: This prospective randomized controlled trial involved 126 patients (ASA physical status 1–2) who were scheduled to undergo arthroscopic day surgery. Patients were randomly divided into two groups: the light-sedation (L-Group) or deep-sedation (D-Group). In the L-group, the bispectral index values were kept in the range of 50–59; in the D-group, the bispectral index values were maintained in the range of 40–49. The Quality of Recovery-15 (QoR-15) score assessed 24 h postoperatively using a 15-item questionnaire was the primary outcome. Secondary outcomes included Athens Insomnia Scale scores, postoperative pain scores, nausea or vomiting.Results: The total QoR-15 score 24 h postoperatively was similar in the two groups (L-group median:130, IQR [127–132] vs. D-group median:131, IQR [126–135], p = 0.089). But among the five dimensions of the QoR-15, physiological comfort was significantly better in the D-group than L-group (p < 0.001). The time to open eyes (p < 0.001), follow the command (p < 0.001) and to extubation (p < 0.001) after surgery in the L-group were shorter than the D-group. The Athens Insomnia Scale scores (p < 0.001) and incidence of dreaming (p = 0.041) at the first postoperative night in the L-group was significantly higher than those in the D-group. Propofol consumption in the L-group was less than D-group (p < 0.001).Conclusion: For patients undergoing arthroscopic day surgery, general anesthesia with high-bispectral-index (50–59) cannot improve the total QoR-15 score 24 h postoperatively after surgery, but can lessen propofol consumption, reduce the time of extubation and anesthesia recovery period, compared with low-bispectral-index (40–49). The Middle–Late Permian witnessed an unusual chert accumulation event along the margin of the Pangea and Paleo-Tethys realms, known as the “Permian Chert Event (PCE).” The PCE is well recognized in the Permian limestone from South China, in the forms of nodular and bedded cherts. Previous studies suggested that PCE was caused by hydrothermal fluids related to the Emeishan large igneous province (ELIP). Meanwhile, another hypothesis supported the biogenic origin of PCE, i.e., the Permian chert derived from biosilicification of abundant sponges and radiolarian. Thus, sources of silica from the Permian chert remain uncertain. To understand linkages among PCE, biosilicification mechanism, and the ELIP event, this study focused on chert nodules collected from the Permian Maokou and Wujiaping formations in the Lianziya and Maoertang sections, South China. We measured germanium/silicon ratios (Ge/Si) and rare earth element (REE) compositions of chert nodules on the basis of petrographic analysis. Ge/Si ratios range from 0.14 to 0.63 μmol/mol with an average of 0.33 μmol/mol (n=18) in the Lianziya section and from 0.02 to 0.75 μmol/mol with an average of 0.18 μmol/mol (n=45) in the Maoertang section, both of which are close to the seawater value. The REE pattern is characterized by LREE depleted with a positive Eu anomaly ranging from 0.66 to 2.16 in the Lianziya section and from 1.05 to 9.57 in the Maoertang section. Our results indicate that the silica of the Permian chert predominantly originated from seawater with limited contributions from hydrothermal fluids. To further quantify the contributions of hydrothermal fluids, we applied a binary (seawater and hydrothermal fluid) mixing model based on two geochemical proxies, i.e., the Ge/Si ratio and Eu anomaly. The modeling results suggest a mixing of 0.5 vol% to 1 vol% hydrothermal fluids with contemporaneous seawater, verifying the dominant seawater source of silica in the PCE. Although it has been widely accepted that positive Eu anomaly points to the hydrothermal fluid origin of silica, our study demonstrates that positive Eu anomaly could also be present in cherts that was predominantly derived from normal seawater. Therefore, the analysis of the Ge/Si ratio or REE compositions is highly recommended when determining the Si source of cherts.

The deglaciation of Marinoan snowball Earth (~635 Myr ago) has been associated with potentially extensive CH4 emissions in relation to transient marine euxinia. Here, the authors find that active methanogenesis occurred during the termination of Marinoan snowball Earth, fueled by methyl sulfide production in sulfidic seawater.

In order to solve the problems of long cooking time and rough taste of brown rice, a new technology based on low temperature plasma treatment was put forward. Taking brown rice as raw material, the effects of glow intensity, treatment time and moisture content in low-temperature plasma processing on cooking time and solid loss rate of brown rice were studied, and the thermodynamic properties of white rice, brown rice and low-temperature plasma treated brown rice were analyzed by DSC. On the basis of single factor experiment, orthogonal experiment parameters of optimizing the low-temperature plasma process was glow intensity 1.8a, treatment time 2 min, moisture content 9.33%, then cooking time was about 25.31 min under this condition, solid loss rate was 19.18 mg/g. Thermodynamic analysis shows that low temperature plasma treatment can reduce the thermal phase transition temperature, termination temperature and enthalpy of brown rice. The results can be used as reference for low temperature plasma in brown rice production.

In order to meet the demand for brown rice food and improve the rough taste of brown rice and maintain its good nutritional quality, the composite powder of Heilongjiang round brown rice and Jiangxi early nonglutinous brown rice was used as raw material to produce instant brown rice porridge by extrusion puffing technology.Single factor experiments were used to investigate the relationship between processing parameters and the rehydration rate, rehydration time and solid content of instant brown rice porridge.The optimal processing technology was obtained by response surface analysis.The results showed that the optimum process conditions were extrusion temperature of 100 ℃, moisture content of 29.22%, and screw speed of 185 r/min, which had no significant difference with the expected values.The process was stable and feasible, which provided technical guidance for the producers of instant brown rice porridge, and a theoretical basis for the development and utilization of brown rice.

As the main grain crop in the world, the quality of rice has become the focus of people's concern with the continuous improvement of living standard.In order to ensure the quality of rice, it is necessary to find or develop more rapid and non-destructive detection methods.Nondestructive testing of rice is the key technology to establish an effective monitoring system for rice quality and safety.The present situation and application of rice quality nondestructive testing technology in China in recent years are reviewed.The research progress and existing problems of nondestructive testing technology of rice quality are elaborated in the aspects of the applications of near infrared spectrum technology, electronic nose technology and computer vision detection technology in rice milling quality, appearance quality, nutritional quality, cooking quality and taste quality.The development of the rice quality detection technology is prospected.

The rapid change of motion direction during running is beneficial to improving the movement flexibility of the quadruped robot, which is of great relevance to its research. How to make the robot change its motion direction during running and achieve good dynamic stability is a problem to be solved. In this paper, a method to change the running direction of the cheetah-inspired quadruped robot is proposed. Based on the analysis of the running of the cheetah, a dynamic model of the quadruped robot is established, and a two-level stability index system, including a minimum index system and a range index system, is proposed. On this basis, the objective function based on the stability index system and optimization variables, including leg landing points, trunk movement trajectory, and posture change rule, are determined. Through these constraints, the direction changes with good dynamic stability of the cheetah-inspired quadruped robot during running is realized by controlling the leg parameters. The robot will not roll over during high-speed movement. Finally, the correctness of the proposed method is proven by simulation. This paper provides a theoretical basis for the quadruped robot’s rapid change of direction in running.

Cranial radiation therapy is one of the most effective treatments for childhood brain cancers. Despite the ameliorated survival rate of juvenile patients, radiation exposure-induced brain neurogenic region injury could markedly impair patients’ cognitive functions and even their quality of life. Determining the mechanism underlying neural stem cells (NSCs) response to irradiation stress is a crucial therapeutic strategy for cognitive impairment. The present study demonstrated that X-ray irradiation arrested NSCs’ cell cycle and impacted cell differentiation. To further characterize irradiation-induced molecular alterations in NSCs, two-dimensional high-resolution mass spectrometry-based quantitative proteomics analyses were conducted to explore the mechanism underlying ionizing radiation’s influence on stem cell differentiation. We observed that ionizing radiation suppressed intracellular protein transport, neuron projection development, etc., particularly in differentiated cells. Redox proteomics was performed for the quantification of cysteine thiol modifications in order to profile the oxidation-reduction status of proteins in stem cells that underwent ionizing radiation treatment. Via conjoint screening of protein expression abundance and redox status datasets, several significantly expressed and oxidized proteins were identified in differentiating NSCs subjected to X-ray irradiation. Among these proteins, succinate dehydrogenase [ubiquinone] flavoprotein subunit, mitochondrial (sdha) and the acyl carrier protein, mitochondrial (Ndufab1) were highly related to neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, and Huntington’s disease, illustrating the dual-character of NSCs in cell differentiation: following exposure to ionizing radiation, the normal differentiation of NSCs was compromised, and the upregulated oxidized proteins implied a degenerative differentiation trajectory. These findings could be integrated into research on neurodegenerative diseases and future preventive strategies.

The complete mitochondrial genome of Brachionus rubens was sequenced using primers design, clone culture, DNA extraction, LONG-PCR amplification, purification and clone sequencing. We found that it is composed of two circular chromosomes, designated mtDNA I (11,398 bp) and mtDNA II (12,820 bp). The gene content of the B. rubens mitochondrial genome was similar to that of the previously reported mitochondrial genome of B. plicatilis. It contained 22 tRNA genes, 2 rRNA genes and 12 protein-coding genes (PCGs). Four of the 12 PCGs had an incomplete stop codons, TA（cob, atp6, nd3）or T(cox3). The A + T content of B. rubens mitochondrial genome was apparently higher (mtDNA-I 70.2% and mtDNA II 70.4%) than that of the mitochondrial genome of B. plicatilis (mtDNA-I 63.9% and mtDNA-II 62.9%).

The gas reservoir of Upper Triassic Xujiahe Fm in the Sichuan Basin is characterized by “accumulation in the early stage, entrapment in the middle stage and activation in the late stage”. In order to provide guidance for the prediction of hydrocarbon enrichment zone of Xujiahe Fm, we first plotted the regional structure map based on the 2D and 3D seismic merging data of the basin. Then, we displayed and described the structural characteristics by means of the 3D visualization technology of low-angle vertical backlight irradiation. In addition, the structural system was classified according to the dynamic direction of regional structure and the structural interrelationship, and the formation stages of the structure were confirmed. Finally, based on drilling and testing data, the hydrocarbon enrichment zone of Xujiahe Fm was predicted. And the following research results were obtained. First, five structural systems are developed in Xujiahe Fm in the Sichuan Basin, including EW-oriented arc structure, NE-oriented linear structure, NE-oriented arc structure, SN-oriented to NW-oriented brush structure and NW-oriented arc structure. Second, the EW-oriented arc structure is formed due to the uplift and extrusion of the northern section of Longmenshan thrust belt in the Indosinian period, successively developed in the Yanshanian and stabilized in the Himalayan period. And it is widely distributed in the basin. Third, the NE-oriented linear structure in the north of Western Sichuan Depression is resulted from the Anxian movement of Longmenshan thrust belt in the Indosinian period. Fourth, the NW-oriented arc structure before the Dabashan and the NE-oriented linear structure before the Huaying Mountain are stabilized in the Yanshanian and successively developed in the Himalayan period. Fifth, the SN-oriented structure in the Western Sichuan Depression is formed due to the extrusion of the southern section of Longmenshan thrust belt in the Himalayan period. Sixth, the combination of SN structure to the east of Longquanshan fold belt and NW-oriented linear structure in the basin is a brush structure belt with Jiangyou paleo-uplift as the mainstay, which is resulted from the extrusion of the southern section of Longmenshan thrust belt in the Himalayan period. Seventh, the high-yield wells are usually distributed in the arc anticlines of Indosinian–Yanshanian superimposed with the faults of Himalayan period. The structures of the Himalayan period are usually dry traps, and their fracture development zones are mostly water producing layers. The Indosinian synclines are also ineffective traps even though they are uplifted to anticlines in the Himalayan period. In conclusion, the confirmation of structural system stages can provide a technical support for the prediction and description of hydrocarbon enrichment zone of Xujiahe Fm in the Sichuan Basin. Objective Ultrasound-guided lateral thoracolumbar interfascial plane block (US-TLIP block) is a novel regional technique for anesthesia or analgesia. However, there has been no prospective, randomized and controlled clinical trial investigating the perioperative analgesic effect of US-TLIP block on lumbar spinal fusion surgery. The aim of this study was to investigate the analgesic effect of bilateral single-shot US-TLIP in patients undergoing lumbar spinal fusion surgery. Methods A prospective and randomized comparative clinical study was conducted. A total of 60 patients (ASA classes: I–II), aged 21–74 years who were scheduled for lumbar spinal fusion surgery were randomized and divided into the TLIP group (Group T, n = 30) and control group (Group C, n = 30). The patients in Group T received preoperative bilateral single-shot US-TLIP with 30 ml of 0.375% ropivacaine at the third lumbar spine (L3) vertebral level, and the patients in Group C received an injection of 30 ml 0.9% saline through same technique. All patients received patient-controlled analgesia (PCA) after their operation. The frequency of PCA compressions and rescue analgesic administrations were recorded. Opioids (sufentanil and remifentanil), anesthetic consumption, the number of postoperative days spent in a hospital bed, overall hospital stay time and postoperative complications were recorded. The Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) and Bruggemann Comfort Scale (BCS) scores for pain and comfort assessment were recorded at 1, 12, 24, 36, and 48 hours postoperatively. Confirming thick hydrocarbon generation center and discovering thick porous reservoirs are two key factors to start the Permian gas exploration of the Western Sichuan Depression. In this paper, the Sinian-Cambrian structures of this area were studied by adopting the layer-flattening technology and the Lower Paleozoic thickness map was prepared in order to describe the Permian hydrocarbon generation center. Then, combined with seismic facies analysis and field outcrop bioherm discovery, the distribution of Middle Permian reef flat reservoirs were predicted. Finally, the favorable conditions for reef flat reservoir dolomitization were analyzed based on fault features. The study indicates that: (1) Sinian top represents a huge depression in the profile flatted by the reflecting interface of Permian bottom, with normal faults filled by thick Lower Paleozoic sediments at both sides, revealing that a aulacogen formed during the Khanka taphrogeny exists in the Western Sichuan Depression, where very thick Cambrian strata may contain hydrocarbon generation center, making Permian strata have the material conditions for the formation of large gas pools; (2) the Middle Permian strata in the Western Sichuan Depression exhibit obvious abnormal response in reef flat facies, where three large abnormal bands are developed, which are predicted as bioherm complex combined with the Middle Permian bioherm outcrop discoveries in surface; and (3) deep and large extensional faults are developed in reef flat margin, manifesting as favorable conditions for the development of dolomite reservoirs. The results show that the Middle Permian traps in the Western Sichuan Depression contain resources up to 7400 × 108 m3, showing significant natural gas exploration prospects. By far, one risk exploration well has been deployed.

Rescue robots can replace rescue workers in search and rescue missions in unknown environments and hence play an important role in disaster relief. To realize the advantages of high carrying capacity, easy control, and simple structure to adapt to a complex disaster scene, a novel wheel-legged rescue robot, integrated with rescue function modules, was designed for the present work. Three motion states were analyzed in detail. Mechanical properties were studied to provide basis for parameter optimization. The performance indices, which include mechanical properties, motion amplitudes and movement stability, were proposed, and the structural parameters were further analyzed and optimized based on these performance indices to make the overall performance of the robot achieve the best. Results show that the motion state of the wheel-legged rescue robot can perform real-time transformations and hence can be used in complex environments.

A robotic chair/bed system for assisting bedridden aged for their independent life in bed is developed and tested. This robotic system can assist bedridden people to lead a relatively independent life, so as to relieve the burdens for their families and healthcare personnel. The robotic chair/bed system consists of a reconfigurable and omnidirectional mobile chair/bed and a U-shaped bed. The wheelchair can be docked to the U-shaped bed and reconfigured to a static bed for transportation between chair and bed. A six-wheel omnidirectional vehicle is used for the chair/bed. The bed is equipped with a mechanism for repositioning a rigid body with a flexible sheet to alleviate bedsores and other ailments. Through the teleconferencing facility on the bed, the bedridden patient is supervised and assisted all the time by the distal caregiver. The design concept of the chair/bed system is described in short. The mechanism design and analysis of the vehicle, the flipping-body function, and the chair/bed are discussed. The issue of the docking control is addressed. A prototype system is designed and tested. The technical feasibility is verified.

Patients suffering from paraplegia are special disabled groups in society. In order to help them with lower-limb rehabilitation, a kind of power-assisted gait orthosis is designed. In consideration of the crutches that are rather necessary to keep balance when walking, the effects of crutches on analysis of mechanism cannot be ignored. Based on the gait characteristics, this gait orthosis mechanism is designed, of which the structure is optimized by genetic algorithm and the dynamical model is generated. The periodic movement of hip joints, knee joints, and ankle joints in corrected gait are achieved and the torque can be transferred to the driving force of the back motor and the pushrod according to the orthosis structure. Finally, a verification test shows this design is reasonable and practical.

Five previously undescribed triterpenoid saponins (1–5), along with eight known ones (6–13), were isolated from the whole plants of Anemone rivularis var. flore-minore. Their structures were clarified by extensive spectroscopic data and chemical evidence. For the first time, the lupane-type saponins (3 and 12) were reported from the Anemone genus. The anti-proliferative activity of all isolated saponins was evaluated on hepatic stellate cells (HSC-T6). Saponins 12 and 13, which possess more monosaccharides than the others, displayed potent anti-proliferative activity, with IC50 values of 18.21 and 15.56 μM, respectively.
