5. Optimized Design Method for Satellite Constellation Configuration Based on Real-time Coverage Area Evaluation

Abstract

When using constellation synergy to image large areas for reconnaissance, it is required to achieve the coverage capability requirements with minimal consumption of observation resources to obtain the most optimal constellation observation scheme. With the minimum number of satellites and meeting the real-time ground coverage requirements as the optimization objectives, this paper proposes an optimized design of satellite constellation configuration for full coverage of large-scale regional imaging by using an improved simulated annealing algorithm combined with the real-time coverage evaluation method of hexagonal discretization. The algorithm can adapt to experimental conditions, has good efficiency, and can meet industrial accuracy requirements. 6. Comprehensive Evaluation of Emergency Shelters in Wuhan City Based on GIS

Abstract

Emergency shelters, which reflect the city's ability to respond to and deal with major public emergencies to a certain extent, are essential to a modern urban emergency management system. This paper is based on spatial analysis methods, using Analytic Hierarchy Process to analyze the suitability of the 28 emergency shelters in Wuhan City. The Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to an Ideal Solution is further used to evaluate the accommodation capacity of emergency shelters in central urban areas, which provides a reference for the optimization of existing shelters and the site selection of new shelters, and provides a basis for improving the service capacity of shelters. The results show that the overall situation of emergency shelters in Wuhan is good, with 96\% of the places reaching the medium level or above, but the suitability level needs to be further improved, especially the effectiveness and accessibility. Among the seven central urban areas in Wuhan, Hongshan District has the strongest accommodation capacity while Jianghan District has the weakest, with noticeable differences., Comment: Accepted to the 29th International Conference on Geoinformatics

Abstract

Often referred to as the “Third Pole,” China's Qinghai–Tibetan Plateau developed large amounts of peatland owing to its unique alpine environment. As a renewable resource, peat helps to regulate the climate as well as performing other important functions. However, in recent years, intensifying climate change and anthropogenic disturbances have resulted in peatland degradation and consequently made sustainable development of peatland more difficult. This review summarizes peatland ecological and economic functions, including carbon sequestration, biodiversity conservation, energy supplies, and ecotourism. It identifies climate change and anthropogenic disturbances as the two key factors attributing to peatland degradation and ecosystem carbon loss. Current problems in environmental degradation and future challenges in peatland management under the effects of global warming are also discussed and highlighted.

42. Curvature interference characteristic analysis of offset involute cylindrical worm drive.

Abstract

The theory of calculating the curvature interference limit line of the offset involute cylindrical worm drive based on the singular point condition on the enveloping surface is established. The tooth surface equations and the meshing function of the worm drive are derived. Based on the singular point condition that the normal vector of the enveloping surface is zero, the equation of the curvature interference limit line is obtained. By employing the resultant elimination method and the geometric construction, the existence of the solutions of the curvature interference limit line is determined, and the reasonable initial values for the iteration program are afforded. The numerical outcomes show that there is one meaningful curvature interference limit line on each flank of single tooth of the worm gear, which usually does not enter the worm gear tooth surface. Both flanks of the worm gear are all settled in the side of the limit line, the curvature interference does not happen on the worm gear tooth surface. The undercutting of the cutting engagement process generally does not happen. The results also reveal that the curvature interference limit line is closer to the addendum and heel of the face worm gear on the i flank, which has the greatest potential venture inflict the undercutting.
