Abstract

Primary hepatocellular carcinoma (PHC) is the sixth most common cancer and the third leading cause of cancer death worldwide. Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) accounts for 75%-85% of PHC. LARP3 is aberrantly expressed in multiple cancers. We found that it is significantly highly expressed in the liver cancer tissues of HCC patients, but the exact role and specific mechanism of this abnormal expression are not yet clear. In this study, through bioinformatics analysis, we concluded that LARP3 expression is associated with a poor prognosis for patients with HCC. Through cellular experiments such as gene editing and phenotypic functions, we found that LARP3 promotes the occurrence and development of HCC and inhibits apoptosis. Finally, through biological means such as RNA sequencing, flow cytometry, western blotting, and the construction of a subcutaneous tumorigenesis model in nude mice, we concluded that inhibition of HCC apoptosis by LARP3 is related to LARP3 negatively regulating ROS level and inhibiting the PI3K/c-Fos/apoptosis axis. 9. Policy Simulation of the Coordinated Development of Environmental Governance and Urbanization in the Beijing–Tianjin-Hebei Region: A Study Using a Multi-Regional CGE Model.

Abstract

Ecological environmental governance is not only a crucial aspect of the urbanization process, but also a key factor for achieving coordinated development between regional economies and the environment. This study utilizes a multi-regional Computable General Equilibrium (CGE) model to simulate the impact of varying degrees of environmental governance on urbanization in the Beijing–Tianjin–Hebei region. The results indicate that ecological environmental governance may exert certain negative effects on urbanization processes, such as GDP, household income, and industrial output; however, it also helps to reduce environmental pollution to some extent. From the different scenarios examined, we observed that both fully local environmental governance and proportional environmental governance result in impacts on urbanization development in Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei. However, significant differences are evident among the three regions. The effects of ecological environmental governance on urbanization are the least pronounced in Beijing, followed by Tianjin, while Hebei experiences far greater disruptions, with economic declines exceeding 7%, significantly surpassing its capacity to cope. Based on these findings, this paper proposes several policy recommendations, including the necessity of differentiated intensities for ecological environmental governance, a gradual expansion of the governance scope, and the implementation of a diverse combination of policies for air pollution control and emissions reduction. Abstract

Fusarium wilt has occurred in the main Piper nigrum cultivation regions, which seriously affects the yield and quality of P. nigrum. To identify the pathogen of this disease, the diseased roots were collected from a demonstration base in Hainan Province. The pathogen was obtained by tissue isolation method and confirmed by pathogenicity test. Based on the morphological observation, sequence analyses of TEF1‐α nuclear gene, Fusarium solani was identified as the pathogen causing P. nigrum Fusarium wilt and induced symptoms on inoculated plants, including chlorosis, necrotic spots, wilt, drying, and root rot. The experiments for the antifungal activity showed that all the 11 fungicides selected in this study showed certain inhibitory effects on the colony growth of F. solani, where 2% kasugamycin AS, 45% prochloraz EW, 25 g·L−1 fludioxonil SC and 430 g·L−1 tebuconazole SC exhibited relative higher inhibitory effects with EC50 as 0.065, 0.205, 0.395, and 0.483 mg·L−1, respectively, and were selected to perform SEM analysis and test in seeds in vitro. The SEM analysis showed that kasugamycin, prochloraz, fludioxonil, and tebuconazole might have exerted their antifungal effect by damaging F. solani mycelia or microconidia. These preparations were applied as a seed coating of P. nigrum Reyin‐1. The kasugamycin treatment was most effective in reducing the harmful impact of F. solani on the seed germination.
