INTRODUCTION[|]This aim is to examine the mediating role of life satisfaction and rotating vitality in the relationship between fear of covid-19 and problematic internet use in adolescents[¤]METHODS[|]The participants in Turkey to 532 adolescents (304 females, 228 males) are formed. In the study, Covid-19 Fear Scale, Life Satisfaction Scale, Subjective Vitality Scale, and Problematic Internet Use Scale were used. Due to the covid-19 outbreak, education was not held in schools, so data were collected online. For this, scales were sent to the participants through online data collection prepared via Google Forms. [¤]RESULTS[|]Relationships between adolescents' fear of experiencing coronavirus and their life satisfaction, fitness, and problematic internet use were determined by Pearson correlation analysis. It is seen that the problematic internet use has a positive relationship with the fear of covid-19, a negative relationship with life satisfaction and other vitality, and low follow-up. It is observed that there is a low level, negatively significant relationship between Covid-19 and life satisfaction and vitality. Regression analysis examined the mediating relationship between life satisfaction and age's fear of covid-19 and internet use. The research was performed by Hayes (2009) to test the mediating effect. The process was carried out in the macro mirror. In this method, 5000 resampling method was chosen.[¤]DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSION[|]their results mediate the relationship between life satisfaction and health fear of covid-19 and problematic internet use.[¤]

The aim of this study is to put forward the mediating role of self-control in the relationship between adolescents' aggressive behaviors and their cyber bullying behaviors. The study group included 333 high school students. The data was collected through the Positive Social and Aggressive Behaviors Scale, the Brief Self-Control Scale and the Cyber Victimization and Bullying Scale. To analyze the data, the LISREL 9.1 and SPPS 22 program was used. In the study, to calculate the indirect effect estimates of the variables, the SPSS Macro Process program was used. If the mediating role was statistically significant or not was tested through using the bootstrap test was calculated. According to the relational results of the study, it was found that there is a positive and moderate relationship between aggression and cyberbullying. A moderate, negatively significant relationship was found between aggression and self-control. It was determined that there is a moderate and negative relationship between self-control and cyberbullying. As a result of the study, it was determined that the aggressive behaviors predicted cyber bulying behaviors at a significant level. Another result of the study was that self-control played mediating role in the relationship between the aggressive behaviors and the cyber bullying behaviors. According to these results, self-control play an mediating role in the relationship between high school students' aggressive behaviors and their cyber bullying behaviors.

Cyanide is a powerful poison which cause inhibition of mitochondrial cytochrome oxidase system. Cyanide poisining can present in a wide variety of forms such as inhalation, ingestion or injection. Dermal exposure is rare, very few case reports have been reported about cyanide. In this paper, we present an uncommon case of a suicide attempt with cyanide injection. A 91 year old man with a history of depression admitted to the emergency department after injected cyanide to himself subcutaneously. He was diagnosed with depressive disorder and hospitalized after psychiatric assessment. The psychiatric history of this patient suggests that depression in elderly can give way to serious suicides attempts. Psychiatrists interested in treatment of elderly depressed patients should do careful monitoring about suicide.

Objective: We aimed to determine the variables that can be a risk factor for addiction like age, gender, education level, school cession, first using age, substance use period, frequency and using other addictive substances among people who have a diagnosis of opiate addiction. Methods: This is a descriptive and cross-sectional study in AMBAUM ( Akdeniz University Alcohol and Substance Dependence Research and Practice Center) between February 1,2010- April30, 2010. 84 inpatient and outpatient patients (60 men, 24 women) between age 14-37, who have a diagnosis of opiate addiction according to DSM IV-TR diagnostic criteria recruited in this study. All participating patients completed a standard questionaire and sociodemographic data form face to face. The results were analyzed with chi-squared test by using SPSS 16 statistics program. Results: In our patients nicotin addiction prevalance is 100%, alcohol using prevalance is 91.7%, cannabis using prevalance 86.9%, ecstasy using prevalance 54.8%, cocain using prevalance 48.8%, polysubstance using prevalance 47.6%, hallucinogen using prevalance 27.4%, addictive medical drug using prevalance 17.9%. Conclusions: This epidemiological study guide us in the monitoring and evalution of the opiate use and prevalance of other substance use with opiate addiction. Objective: We aimed to evaluate the knowledge level of young patients (aged between 15-25) with substance dependency about sexually transmitted disease (STD) and family planning (FP) and organized an education in order to inform them and correct their knowledge, if inappropriate and measured the efficacy of this education. Method: This descriptive and cross-sectional study was performed between 1 March 2010 and 31 March 2010. A total of 42 patients either hospitalized or outpatient, diagnosed with substance dependency according to DSM-IV were included in the study at Akdeniz University Alcohol and Substance Dependency Research and Treatment Center (AMBAUM). A standardized education on STD and FP was given to these young patients and a questionnaire consisting of 20 questions was performed before and after the education. Results: After a standardized education on STD and FP, number of correct answers increased for all questions and this reached to statistical significance for 15 of 20 questions (75%). When total scores were considered, the mean total score of the former test was 11.28±2.52 and the mean total score of the latter test was 16.85±2.20. Conclusion: According to the results of the study, young patients with substance dependency have inadequate knowledge about STD and FP, and education programme significantly increases the level of knowledge. It seems reasonable to include an education about STD and FP to alcohol and substance dependency rehabilitation programmes.

Objective. The purpose of this study was to determine the prevalence of lifetime anxiety disorders in patients with schizophrenia in Sanliurfa, Turkey, and to assess the association between comorbidity and several demographic and clinical variables. Methods. Eighty-two outpatients diagnosed with schizophrenia were recruited for the study. They were assessed by means of the Structured Clinical Interview for DSM-IV axis I Disorders-Clinician Version (SCID-I-CV), Anxiety Disorder Module, the Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale (PANSS), the Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale (HARS), and the Global Assessment of Functioning Scale (GAF). Results. Fifty-five (67.1%) were diagnosed with at least one lifetime comorbid anxiety disorder. The most common anxiety disorder was obsessive-compulsive disorder (39.0%), followed by social phobia (13.4%). We found patients with a diagnosis of schizophrenia with comorbid anxiety disorders had shorter duration of illness than those without such comorbid conditions. Atypical antipsychotics were more commonly prescribed to treat these patients. Conclusion. As comorbidity of anxiety disorders is relatively prevalent among patients with a diagnosis of schizophrenia, special attention to this issue should be paid when interviewing these patients.

Objective. The purpose of this study was to present the frequencies of personality disorders in a sample of bipolar I patients and to investigate whether the presence of comorbid personality disorders affect the course of bipolar illness.Seventy euthymic bipolar I patients were assessed using the Structured Clinical Interview for DSM-IV Axis II Personality Disorders (SCID II). Bipolar patients with comorbid personality disorder were compared with those of without personality disorder comorbidity on demographic and clinical variables.Forty bipolar I patients (57%) had at least one comorbid personality disorder. The most common personality disorder cluster was cluster C (36%), followed by cluster B (17%) and cluster A (17%) personality disorders. The most prevalent personality disorder in the whole group was obsessive-compulsive personality disorder (21%). Patients with comorbid personality disorders had an earlier age of onset than those of without comorbidity.Although the rates of comorbid personality disorders are high in bipolar I patients, the presence of comorbidity has no relevant impact on the course of bipolar I patients except for earlier age of onset of bipolar I disorder.

OZET: Tibbi endikasyon olmadan fentanil kullanimi son- rasi gelisen bagimlilik: Bir olgu sunumu Fentanil pur ve selektif opioid µ reseptor agonisti olup morfinden 80-100 kat daha potent analjezik etkiye ve daha az yan etkiye sahiptir. Turkiye'de tek form olarak bulunan transdermal bant konsantrasyonlari 2.5, 5, 7.5, 10 mg fentanil icerip 72 saat boyunca 25-100 mcg /saat dozlarinda salinmaktadir. Son yillarda bu kotuye kullanim gittikce artmaktadir. Fentanil transdermal bantlari tedavi amacli kullanan populasyon haricinde, kotuye kullanan- larda bant iceriginin intavenoz enjeksiyonu, oral-trans- mukozal uygulanim, rektal kullanim ve inhalasyon yolu ile alimi bildirilmistir. Literaturde yurt disindan cok sayida vaka bildirimleri bulunmasina ragmen, bunlarin hepsi ya kotuye kullanim ya da yanlis kullanim sonrasi fentanile bagli gelisen komplikasyonlarla ilgilidir. Tartisacagimiz vaka Turkiye'den ilk defa bildirilmesi ve bir fentanil bagimliligi olmasi nedeniyle onem kazanmaktadir. 59 yasinda bir erkek tibbi endikasyon olmaksizin fentanil transdermal bantlari kullanmis ve bagimlilik gelismistir. Literaturde fentanilin bir opioid reseptor agonisti olarak daha cok kotuye kullanimi bildirilmis olsa da bagimlilik acisindan da dikkatle ele alin- masi gereklidir.

The purpose of this study was to determine the prevalence of lifetime anxiety disorders in bipolar I patients in Sanliurfa, Turkey, and to assess the association between comorbidity and several demographic and clinical variables. Seventy bipolar I patients in remission were assessed by means of the Structured Clinical Interview for DSM-IV axis I Disorders-Clinician Version (SCID-I-CV), Anxiety Disorder Module in order to detect lifetime comorbid anxiety disorders. Nineteen (27.1%) bipolar I patients were diagnosed with at least one lifetime comorbid anxiety disorder. The most common anxiety disorders in this sample were obsessive compulsive disorder (12.8%) and specific phobia (12.8%), followed by panic disorder (5.7%). Anxiety disorder comorbidity appears to be associated with greater number of hospitalizations, psychotic symptoms and suicide attempts in patients with bipolar I disorder. As comorbidity has a clear impact on the course of bipolar patients, special attention to this issue should be paid when interviewing bipolar patients.

Varenicline is a novel antismoking agent that reduces cravings and blocks pleasure of nicotine by serving as a partial agonist to the nicotinic receptor. Varenicline has been associated with some important psychiatric adverse effects in patients with psychiatric history. However, varenicline related manic episode has not been reported so far in the literature in patients with no psychiatric history. Here we report a manic episode case with psychotic features developed in an individual on varenicline with no personal and family psychiatric history.
