The aim of this study was to engage students in 21st century learning through the implementation of a Dilemma-Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) teaching model. The Dilemma-STEAM teaching model integrates dilemma stories with problem solving tasks to support students' thinking and problem solving using the STEAM approach. Qualitative research was employed in three schools involving 25 students in a primary school and 60 students in two junior high schools. The data were collected through semi-structured interviews, reflective journals, and classroom observations. The students discussed a dilemma story about energy and thematic data analysis found that they solved problems and construct their understanding of STEAM concepts such as environmental car, oven, and hydroelectric power plants using a range of different strategies. In solving the problems, the activities helped the students to develop the 21st century skills of critical and creative thinking, and collaboration and communication skills. Finally, a dilemma-STEAM model enabled a multidisciplinary approach to be used in conducting science lessons to provide meaningful learning experiences for students. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Word problems in mathematics have always been a challenge for students and teachers. This study aims to investigate students' errors in solving statistical word problems using case study methodology. 88 Grade 9 students were given a test consisting of four-word problems. The problems used were integrating statistical elements such as tables and diagrams. Students' work was analyzed to find conceptual, procedural, and technical errors. Eight students were selected and interviewed to gather information about their thinking and strategies for solving the problems. This information provides complimentary data on their errors. The results show that the conceptual errors include incorrect formulas and misunderstanding the statistical concepts. The procedural errors made by the students include incomplete steps in solving problems, for example, missing the conclusion. Finally, students made technical errors when calculating decimal numbers. The Coronavirus Disease (Covid-19) pandemic in Indonesia has an impact for various sectors, one of which is education. Ministry of Education and Culture provides a policy for school to carry out the learning process from home through online learning or distance learning as an effort to prevent the spread of Covid-19. Videos can be used to support teachers and students in learning mathematics during distance learning. This study aims to develop videos as learning tools of probability in middle school with realistic mathematics education approach. This methodology used is a Research and Development with Brog and Gall model five stages, namely product analysis, product design, product evaluation and revision, small group field test and revision, large group field test and final product. The participants of this study were 26 students of grade 8th. The prototype videos was evaluated by content and language experts obtained a score 83%, and 84% by media experts with criteria very feasible. The student questionnaire average for this video product increase from 75% in small group became 82% in the large group. This shows that the probability learning video for middle school with realistic mathematics education approach is feasible to be used as mathematics media learning. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Flipped teaching does a reversal of the traditional instructional delivery in the classroom. Some students in the classroom play passive roles in the learning process and make it quite boring for the student and reduce engagement. In this study, students in a technical university participate in finding out their perception of taking a course using the flipped classroom model, identifying the benefits and challenges encountered, and suggestions to improve further implementations. The students were involved in the implementation of a flipped classroom technique in the study of the course by participating in pre-class activities and in-class activities. The students worked in groups to enhance teamwork and collaboration and also took part in presentations and demonstrations. At the end of the sessions, there was student evaluation and peer facilitator evaluation. 16.6% of the students gave a Fair rating to the sessions. 46.7% rated the sessions to be Good, while 36.7% of the students gave a Very Good rating to the flipped classroom sessions. The students gave a high rating of the constructs used in the questionnaire (motivation, effectiveness, engagement, and overall satisfaction) based on the mean scores. Some challenges were encountered during the study. Nevertheless, there was a conclusion that the flipped classroom teaching technique encouraged self-learning and learner engagement and transformed the class with student-centered activities. Gel electrophoresis is a standardized technique that is routinely used in many daily needs, such as clinical laboratories, forensic and industry, molecular biology and biochemistry, conservational biology, and medicine. This paper reviews several types of techniques, with two mostly used technique being agarose and acrylamide gel electrophoresis, either isotopic or non-isotopic based analysis. This technique exploits the difference in size and charge of various molecules in the sample being analyzed. An example of the clinical application of gel electrophoresis is to detect the presence of quantitatively or qualitatively abnormal protein bands. Alterations in the relative concentration of sample fractions allow easy recognition of pathological disorders associated with a disease. In the food industry, it is applied to safeguard the quality of food products. The advantages of this technique are also described that are simple, sensitive, short analysis time, low cost, and environment friendly. The range of its application and modification continues to expand. Here, an application of radioisotope labeled electrophoresis in the analysis of 50 drug resistance of tuberculosis bacteria had been done and showed that several samples had altered its DNA mobility shift on the gel that related to specific gene mutation. Nuclear based analysis has shown improvement as it is relatively more sensitive compared to conventional one but high risk. Before releasing a new variety, the promising cassava genotype should be tested in some environments. This test is a precondition for releasing a new variety. The purpose of the experiment is to fulfill the said precondition. The experiments were done in eight environments during 2010-2011 with an RCBD (Randomized Complete Block Design) and repeated for three times. The plants were planted with a distance of 100 cm between rows and 80 cm within row. The experiments were done by testing eight promising genotypes and released variety as checks. The dimension of the plot was 5 m x 4.8 m. The plants fertilized using 200-kilogram urea, 100 kilograms of Sp-36, and 100 kilograms of KCl per hectare. Data for starch production during seven months were taken and calculated by PBTools and IRRISTAT software. The result shows that PG-1 was a stable genotype using GGE and AMMI biplot. Across the eight environments, PG-1 had a high starch product for seven months, reaching 6.05 tons per hectare. This value is significantly higher (10%) than that of UJ3 (released variety). When the price of tapioca flour was US$ 445/ton, the increase in PG-1 starch production compared to UJ3 was almost the same as US$ 269/ha. The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has led schools and universities to change their primary methods of instruction from in-classroom learning to distance learning. National and local government authorities have called for children to study from home, and UNICEF has urged school authorities to ensure that there are plans in place for remote learning options. The purpose of this research is to evaluate one current form of technology used for distance learning in higher education, using quantitative descriptive correlation. This research examines the use of the interactive features of Skype to convey environmental knowledge to bachelor and magister students of the Universitas Indraprasta PGRI Jakarta, Indonesia. The research took place from 28 March to 30 May 2020, during the COVID-19 outbreak. Research showed that students were motivated to learn remotely because 73% said they preferred to attend the class using Skype and 87% perceived they would benefit from learning through Skype. High vs. low test scores were found to correlate with familiarity vs. lack of familiarity with Skype, with those who believed they would vs. would not score higher because they learned remotely, with those who believed learning remotely did or did not aid them in understanding key concepts, and with those who hoped vs. did not hope to continue with remote learning in the future. This research is a comparative study of mathematics learning outcomes between students in informatics study programs who are Senior High School (SMA) graduates and Vocational High School (SMK) graduates. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the average score of mathematics learning outcomes of SMA graduates' students is 79,3 which is slightly higher than students who graduate from SMK with an average score of 78.13. Therefore, this suggests that there are no differences in mathematical learning outcomes between students graduating from Senior High School and those graduating from Vocational High School. Furthermore, the results of the research are (1) The difference educational background between students from SMA or SMK have no influence in their mathematics learning outcomes (2) There is no learning outcomes difference between students graduating from SMA and SMK (3) Not related to study habits and mathematics learning outcomes of high school students. Matrix is one of the subjects studied in the scope of informatics. It is because of the matrix as support in coding. The use of matrices in information technology cannot be done directly, but matrices must be modeled first into the programming language. This research is a mixed-methods between quantitative and qualitative research conducted on students of Informatics Engineering Study Program. The sample used was 120 students in the second semester who were selected by purposive sampling. The purpose of this research is to find out the extent of students' communication ability in the application of matrices in the field of informatics. The data were collected in the form of paper assignments regarding the application of the matrix within the scope of informatics engineering. Data analysis to measure mathematical communication ability is done in two ways. The first one is the assessment of the content or content of papers that fit the criteria, and the next one is student presentations explaining the results of the paper. In addition, interviews also conducted with students regarding the application of the matrix. After being analyzed, the result says that the mathematical communication ability of students is quite good. Mathematical communication ability which included in this study is a representation, reading, and writing. Most of the students have understood and can communicate matrix material with its application in Informatics Engineering. However, students have not been able to apply it independently because they have not studied programming material further. Thus, the mathematics communication ability needed in Informatics Engineering is to read matrix symbols, represent matrix symbols in informatics symbols, and then write them back into the programming language. Humankind throughout the world are currently in a state of collapse due to the outbreak of Corona Virus Disease (COVID-19) which began in Wuhan, China. Later on, it was announced as the pandemic situation according to WHO. Overall countries have implemented social distancing, while Indonesia has implemented a policy of learning from home, working from home, and worship at home or better known as work from home (WFH). This study aimed to determine the level of readiness to implement e-learning during WFH due to the pandemic COVID-19 spreads along with the challenges in the 4.0 revolution in millennials. The model that used was the Aydin & Tasci model which measures four main factors namely technology, innovation, people, and self-development. Data collection was conducted online using Google Form, while data processing uses a descriptive statistical method mapped based on the Aydin & Tasci version of the e-learning readiness index. The results showed that the overall e-learning readiness index might indicate that the system was ready to be implemented, but required a slight increase in several factors, namely innovation increase, human, and self-development factors. The results and discussion of the study showed the readiness of e-learning to follow the demands of Revolution 4.0, even though it was done during WFH because of the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak. I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport is a public service company that must pay attention to customer satisfaction. Therefore, A Strategic Business Unit has to manages the customer satisfaction system. However, this unit only has a system that can be use to input and display satisfaction and complaints from customers. The development of customer satisfaction system needs to be applied by applying the dimensions of the SERVQUAL method which is expected to facilitate PT. Angkasa Pura I (Persero) improves service quality. The waterfall method is used in research for the development of the system, while the structured method is used to analyze and design the system. The results show that the five dimensions of service satisfaction are in the quite satisfied range. The score is in the range of 2-3. One of the uses of the Chinese Remainder Theorem (CRT) is to shorten the time in the RSA Cryptosystem decryption process. However, in applying a combination of the CRT method and the RSA Algorithm with Python programming modules, recursion errors often occurred when determining the inverse modulus to establish the private key. The error was caused by limitation iterations of the related algorithm. Some Python library needs more iteration processes to calculate the inverse modulus for larger key size. This is a pure computational problem. The standard RSA algorithm uses two prime numbers to generate their key pairs. The multi-prime RSA modification based on more than two prime numbers can be applied to solve the problem. A modified RSA was applied in Python programming that generates keys based on 2, 4, 8, 16, and 32 prime numbers. Regarding on our experiments, the combination of the CRT method and RSA algorithm based on four prime numbers can be applied without recursion error up to a key length of 6280 bits, with eight primes up to 12,560 bits, with sixteen primes up to 25,120 bits, and with thirty-two primes up to 50,240 bits. Implementation of more multi-prime numbers can expand to combine the CRT method and RSA Algorithm for longer key sizes by approximation relation y = 1567,8x + 63,333, which y is the key size and x is the number of primes numbers. The role of Information Technology (IT) in the digital era today is critical in the business environment. IT will provide convenience in the process of managing a Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) so that companies have a competitive advantage in the current economic development. Some research has been discussed the issue of IT adoption's impacts and uses in SMEs, in particular in the suburbs bordering the national capital. The purpose of this study is to identify the impact of IT and the factors that influence technology readiness in IT adoption the organizational context among SMEs located in the suburbs of Jakarta. This article follows a quantitative research approach based on case studies and structured questionnaires. The results of SEM analysis using the SmartPLS3 application give the results that awareness of technology, local government support, SME management support, and financial support are essential factors in IT adoption in SMEs. This article tries to look at other phenomena regarding the limitations SMEs have in using IT and tries to make a recommendation on how to overcome them. The aim of this study is to implement Fisher-Yates Shuffle Algorithm (FYSA) for randomization Math Exam in Computer Based-Test with fast execution time and can be generated without repetition and duplication. This study case in Management and Science University (MSU) Malaysia. This study used ADDIE model and develop based on a website framework using PHP as a back-end programming language, Java script as a client-side programming language, and MySQL as a database. The target population of this study was students in Bachelor Level at Management and Science University (MSU) Malaysia in Mathematics Subject. The subject will be focused on probability and statistics in one focus group. Mathematics lecturer also involved as expert in this study. There are seven questions set with a total questions N=15 on each set. The probability value of randomization the question set is 1/7 = 0.14285714. The permutation obtained from the randomization of Fisher Yates Shuffle is 15! = 1.307674368 x 1012. Based on the results of the quality test, it can be seen that all items of category regarding accessibility, helpful tools, and CBT content have an average percentage score 76.94%, these results mean that all CBT items are works well. The convenience, speed, accuracy, security are the four main indicators of information quality that are concerning for people to be able access information in a public institution dashboard system. To find out whether the data displayed on the system is easily understood by the users, an empirical evaluation study might be indispensable to be performed. Evaluating user experience is one way to know whether a system is in accordance with user needs or not, whether related to data, interfaces, or system performance. This study assessed user experiences based on the product pyramid and its development process in the case of a public dashboard system in a public institution in Indonesia. The empirical experiment was conducted by 15 participants used a scenario that was deliberately designed and then gave answers to the single ease question (SEQ) and the system usability scale (SUS). The results show that SEQ measurement obtained almost 5.7 amount of score which indicates the application measurement results reach an easy level. The SUS results demonstrated that the system was in the acceptable category with a score around 81.3 Although the findings of the study might not contribute theoretically, it may demonstrate a practical consideration for the stakeholders, in terms of the next system development stage. Aquaponic Cultivation Technology can be done inside the house or outside the home, this cultivation also produces plants and fish that can be used by the community with urban farming on local food. Aquaponic system fish farming is a culture system that can save land use and increase the efficiency of nutrient utilization from the rest of the feed and fish metabolism. The purpose is to design water temperature sensors on aeroponics and to test temperature sensors by validating others.. The design of an early warning system application due to a landslide there are several stages, namely: first, Designing a DS18B20 sensor on acuponics. Second, Testing the DS18B20. The measurement results will be stored on the scratchpad and read by the device. This sensor can measure temperatures in the range 0 ° -50 ℃. Microcontroller functions as an electronic circuit controller and stores the program in it. Microcontroller is called a single chip because the microcontroller has a memory and I / O devices. The test was carried out using a container containing chunks of ice. The test was carried out safely for 15 minutes and data was taken every minute. Testing the DS18B20 sensor with a comparison sensor found an average error of 0.0409 with a standard deviation of 0.08023. In this study, the performance of magnetite-montmorilonite composites in absorbing Co2+ and Cd2+ composites made from Pacitan bentonite and natural iron ore reported. Composites are synthesised by inserting iron oxide into the interlayer of bentonite and then calcined at 400 °C for 1 hour. magnetite formed in the interlayer gallery of bentonite has a magnetite structure and high thermal stability. The adsorption of Co2+ and Cd2+ cations was carried out in aqueous solution by batch method at various initial pH variations, contact time, and initial concentration of the solution. The results showed that the two metal cations were absorbed maximum at pH 5 in contact time of 10 minutes for Co2+ and 105 minutes. The maximum concentration of Co2+ that can be absorbed occurs at 50 ppm and 70 ppm for Cd2+. Adsorption of the two cations follows the Langmuir adsorption isotherm pattern with an R2 of 0.945 for Co2+ and 0.995 for Cd2+. The adsorption energy of Co2+ adsorption is -23.42 kJ / mol and -32.45 kJ / mol for Cd2+. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Quality of website design is one of the influential factors of website success. How the design helps the users using the website effectively and efficiently and satisfied at the end of the use. However, it is a common tendency that websites are designed based on the developer's perspectives and less consideration on the user's importance. Thus, the degree of website usability tends to be low, according to user perceptions. This study purposed to understand the user experiences using an institutional repository (IR) website in a public university in Indonesia. The research was performed based on usability testing framework as the usability testing method. About 12 participants were purposely involved regarding their key informant characteristics. Following three empirical data collection techniques (i.e., query technique, formal experiment, and thinking aloud), both descriptive analysis using usability scale matric and content analysis using qualitative data analysis (QDA) Miner Lite software were used in the data analysis stage. Lastly, several visual design recommendations were then proposed at the end of the study. In terms of a case study, besides the practical recommendations which may contextually useful for the next website development, the clarity of the research design may also help scholars how to combine more than one usability testing techniques within a multi-technique study design. It is undeniable that people life patterns and technological developments are interrelated within a supply and demand cycle. In the education world, the emergence of the internet and mobile technologies has opened the learning boundaries through the use of mobile learning (m-learning). In Indonesia, the learning service industry has been begun to enliven the outside school education sector for almost five years ago. Even though the learning has been discussed around a decade ago, however, it is still rare studies that discuss the performance of the m-learning system based on the end-user perceptions in particular. Therefore, the study may still indispensable, especially from the perspectives of a developing nation. This paper elucidates the preliminary stage results of the above-mentioned study, including the results of the model development and its instrument testing. The DeLone and Mclean's information system (IS) success model was adopted, combined with the individual motivation and organizational culture theories, and then adapted into the processional and causal logic of the success model. Around 50 respondent data were collected online and processed and analyzed based on the outer model assessments of the PLS-SEM method using SmartPLS 3.0 to know the reliability and validity of each indicator. The result shows that two of 31 are rejected indicators. The rejections may be the revision considerations for the next study stages. Although this may be trivial for experts, the clarity of its methodological explanations may guide the novice researchers, how to develop a research model and its instrument testing. The teacher needs to know the learner's progress so that he/she can improve her/his teaching strategy. The initial challenges faced by the teachers are including the need to monitor each learner's progress so that their needs and difficulties can be recognized as a guide for enhancing learning strategies. One way to solve these problems is to predict student's progress. Mathematics in elementary school is one of the subjects with a high failure rate of learners. In this study, the progress of learners was predicted using Random Forest based on classification using similarity characteristics of learners obtained from the results of previous formative assessment. The random forest algorithm was used because it can classify data that has incomplete attributes, which are usually contained in learner characteristics. Prediction models are built based on data of assessment results from 2 math classes with 46 students in elementary school. The resulting model performance will be measured using accuracy and recall because False Positive is better than False Negative so learning progress will always be improved. The results show that the Random Forest algorithm can create a learning progress prediction model with an accuracy of 90% in training data and 93% in testing data. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Laboratory materials testing courses often result in errors in the process leading to incorrect results. Making video tutorials aims to improve students' skills in practical laboratory material test subjects. This paper uses a research and development model from Thiagarajan. The 4D steps are to Define, Design, Development, and Dissemination. The resulting video tutorial consists of 12 video materials adjusted to the basic competencies in the practical material test. Media validation had carried out with a feasibility value of 91.54. From material experts 95.5 and the assessment of 12 video tutorials by students with an average score of 80.56. Based on the results of the study, it shows that the tutorial media containing 12 materials is very suitable for use in the material test practicum subject. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The use of instructional video on learning outcomes in the learning of statistics under COVID-19 Pandemic is very important. The purpose of this study is to examine the impact of instructional videos on learning performance. We have conducted a quasi-experiment involving 80 students, in which 30 students were placed in a group and given instructional, work-example video with attention-focusing guidance + analog assignment, 21 students placed in a group and given a work-example video without attention-focusing guidance + analog assignment, and the remaining 29 students were given work example video with attention-focusing guidance + incomplete assignment. Five of the question-based cases were used to measure the impact of the instructional video on learning performance. The work-example video was given through Google Classroom to deliver the contents to groups. Based on ANCOVA, we would conclude that none of the three methods is effective or equally effective to control the effects of ability and interest to math. Note that this outcome is different from what we have obtained in our original ANOVA; without taking math ability and interest into account, the three teaching methods were more effective than the others. This study aims to analyze the effect of mobile learning media and scientific reasoning ability on students' creative thinking on chemistry bonding material. This research was carried out in a state high school in Jakarta, Indonesia. The test is carried out during the first semester of the 2019/2020 school year. The research method implemented in the study is a quasi-experiment with treatment design by level 2x2, then the data acquired are analyzed with two-way ANOVA. The research sample consists of 40 science students in grade 10, and then the sample is divided into two categorized, namely the experiment class of 20 students and the control class of 20 students. They are selected by a multi-stage random sampling technique. In the experiment class, the learning process used mobile learning media while in the control class, the learning process used traditional or conventional media. Scientific reasoning tests and creative thinking tests are the test instruments used in this research. The result shows that students who learn through mobile learning have higher creative thinking skills than those who learn through traditional media. The result also shows that there is an effect of mobile learning media interaction and scientific reasoning ability on students' creative thinking. The use of mobile learning media has positive impacts on students' creative thinking for students who have high scientific reasoning. On the other hand, it has negative impacts on students' creative thinking for students who have lower scientific reasoning. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
