Aim: In this study, it was aimed to examine the time and dose dependent effects of Ginseng (Panax quinquefolius) on MDA-MB-231 cell lines. Material and Methods: MDA-MB-231 breast cancer cell line was used in the study. MDA-MB-231 cells were exposed to ginseng at 37°C and 5% CO2 for varying durations (24 and 48 hours) and doses (1 and 2 μg/ml ginseng). At the end of the incubation period, viability, apoptosis, cell cycle and Argyrophilic nucleolar organizing region (AgNOR) protein status of MDA-MB-231 cells were examined in the Muse Cell Analyzer. Results: It was observed that the dose inducing apoptosis was 1 μg/ml ginseng for 24 and 48 hours, and 2 μg/ml ginseng for 48 hours in the group that stopped the cell cycle in the G0/G1 phase. When comparing the two groups; while no difference was determined between the control and 1 µg/ml ginseng groups, the significant differences were detected between the control and 2 µg/ml ginseng groups for mean AgNOR number in 48 hours incubation. However, there was no significant difference for the TAA/NA ratio, in the groups for 48 hours. Conclusion: The current study showed that ginseng had a crucial function against cancer development. Also, both AgNOR values might be used as biomarkers for detection of the most reliable therapeutic dose selection for cancer and it has been shown that correct consumption of Ginseng can be effective in preventing cancer formation and slowing its progression.

Özet Türkiye’de devletin toprak üzerindeki yapılanması ve yönetimi mülki idare sistemine dayanmaktadır. Tarihsel süreç içerisinde sosyoekonomik, değişimlerden dolayı değişime uğrayan mülki idare sistemi kendisini devamlı bir şekilde güncellemiş ve günümüzdeki halini almıştır. Sistemin merkezinde yer alan mülki idare amirleri güvenlikten, sosyal yardıma ve eğitime kadar il ve ilçe düzeyinde farklı alanlarda koordinasyonun sağlanması ve gelişmelerin kaydedilmesi için kritik ve stratejik bir fonksiyon üstlenmekte olup, ülkenin mülki yapılanmasının yönetilmesinde stratejik insan kaynağını ve unsurunu oluşturmaktadır. Bu kapsamda mesleğin ilk aşamasını oluşturan kaymakamlık mesleğinin gerek toplum nezdinde gerekse de üniversite öğrencileri arasında algısının tespit edilmesinin, eğilimlerin belirlenmesi açısından önemli olduğu düşünülmektedir. Geçmişte ve günümüzde yapılan çalışmalar ışığında mülki idare amirlerinin toplum nezdinde statü ve saygınlığının oldukça yüksek olduğu ve tercih edilen bir meslek olduğu görülmüştür. Özellikle üniversite öğrencilerine yönelik bu araştırmada ilgili sorulara verilen yanıtların %90’lar üzerinde seyrettiği görülmektedir. Yapılan çalışmalar doğrultusunda bir mülki idare amirinin taşıması gereken en önemli özelliklerin tarafsızlık ve dürüstlük, halka yakınlık, yerelin sorunlarına vakıf olma gibi özellikler olduğu müşahede edilmiştir. Bununla birlikte kaymakam adaylarının seçimi aşamasında nesnel ölçütlere göre seçim yapılmadığına ve siyasal etmenler gibi durumların nesnelliği bozduğuna yönelik genel bir kaygının olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Bu bulgunun önceki araştırmalara da yansıdığı ve varlığını sürdürdüğü ifade edilebilir.

Amaç: Bu çalışma ile hekimlerin klinik kaliteye yönelik bilgi ve algılarının değerlendirmesi için geçerli ve güvenilir bir veri toplama aracının geliştirilmesi ve bu sayede hekimlerin Türkiye’deki klinik kalite ile ilgili bilgi ve algılarının ölçülmesi ile klinik kalite süreçlerinin iyileştirilmesine katkı yapması hedeflenmiştir. Gereç ve Yöntemler: Veri toplama süreci sonunda hazırlanan verilere öncelikle Açıklayıcı faktör analizi (AFA) uygulamak için SPSS 25.0 (Statistical Program in Social Sciences) programı kullanılmıştır. Yapılan AFA sonucunda elde edilen ölçeğe ait faktör yapısının doğruluğunu test etmek için AMOS 24 kullanılmış ve doğrulayıcı faktör analizi (DFA) yapılmıştır. DFA sonucunda kurulan ölçeğe ait modelin uyum iyiliği test değerleri yorumlanmış ve ölçeğin son hali kullanıma hazır hale getirilmiştir. Analizlerde istatistiksel olarak güvenilirlik katsayısı 0,95 ve anlamlılık seviyesi ise 0,05 olarak alınmış ve hesaplamalar yapılmıştır. Bulgular: Araştırmada kullanılan 20 maddelik Klinik Kalite Ölçeğinin yapı geçerliliği için uygulanan AFA sonucunda faktör yükü değerleri; 0,536 ile 0,908 arasında bulunmuştur. Toplam varyansın açıklama yüzdesi ise %65,145 olarak hesaplanmıştır. Klinik Kalite Ölçeğine ait iç tutarlılık katsayısını hesaplamak için Cronbach α güvenilirlik analizi uygulanmış ve Cronbach α değeri yaklaşık 0,97 olarak hesaplanmıştır. Sonuç: Yapılan çalışma neticesinde, “Klinik Kalite Ölçeği” geçerli, güvenilir bir ölçme aracı olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.

Amaç: Malatya Eğitim ve Araştırma Hastanesi Patoloji Laboratuvarına gelen numunelerin Akılcı Laboratuvar kapsamında yaşa, cinsiyete, organa göre değerlendirilmesi ve patoloji laboratuvarlarının akılcı kullanımının sağlanmasına yönelik çözüm önerilerinin sunulması amacıyla yapılmıştır.Yöntem: Araştırma. 2019 yılında Malatya Eğitim ve Araştırma Hastanesi Patoloji Laboratuvarına gelen numunelerin tamamı (22365) üzerinden retrospektif olarak yapılmıştır.Bulgular: Çalışmada kullanılan patoloji numunelerinin %26.9’u (n=6026) erkek, %73.1’i (n=16339) kadın hastalara aittir. Patoloji tipi biyopsi olanların %32.7’si (n=5550) erkek, %67.3’ü (n=11430) kadın, patoloji numune tipi sitoloji olanların %8.8’i (n=476) erkek ve %91.2’si (n=4909) kadındır. Çalışmada kullanılan patoloji ve sitoloji (n=22365) örneklerinin sonucuna göre, olguların %84.3’ünün (n=18857) patoloji sonucu benign, %3’ünün (n=678) malign, %1.8’inin (n=403) uygunsuz materyal ve %10.9’unun (n=2427) şüpheli veya pre-malign numune olduğu belirlenmiştir.Sonuç: Patoloji laboratuvarlarında daha doğru ve hızlı sonuç verebilmek için patoloji hekimlerinin iş yüklerinin azaltılması gerekmektedir. Bunun için gereksiz istenen tetkiklerin azaltılması için tetkik isteyen hekim ve klinik bazında analizler düzenli olarak yapılmalı ve gerektiği durumlarda kök neden analizi yapılarak gerekli iyileştirmenin yapılması sağlanmalı ve numuneler için bakanlıkça azami sonuç verme süre hedeflerin belirlenmesi önerilmektedir., Objective: This study was conducted in order to evaluate the samples coming to a Training and Research Hospital Pathology Laboratory according to age, gender and organ within the scope of Rational Laboratory and to present solution suggestions for rational use of pathology laboratories.Method: The research was carried out retrospectively on all of the samples (22365) that came to Malatya Training and Research Hospital Pathology Laboratory in 2019.Results: Of the pathology samples used in the study. 26.9% (n=6026) belonged to male patients and 73.1% (n=16339) to female patients. Of those with pathology type biopsy, 32.7% (n=5550) were male, 67.3% (n=11430) were female, 8.8% (n=476) of those with pathology sample type cytology were male and 91.2% of them (n=4909) were women. According to the results of the pathology and cytology (n=22365) samples used in the study, the pathology result of 84.3% (n=18857) of the cases was benign, 3% (n=678) was malignant, and 1.8% (n= 403) were found to be inappropriate material and 10.9% (n=2427) were suspicious or pre-malignant specimens.Conclusion: In order to provide more accurate and faster results in pathology laboratories, the workload of pathology physicians should be reduced. For this reason, analyzes should be carried out regularly on the basis of physicians and clinics requesting the examination in order to reduce unnecessary required examinations, root cause analysis should be carried out when necessary, necessary improvement should be ensured, and it is recommended that the Ministry determine the maximum result time targets for the samples.

Amaç: Bu çalışma ile Klinik Kalite Rehberinde göstergesi olan kliniklerde çalışan hekimlerin, klinik kalite göstergeleri hakkındaki bilgi ve algılarının değerlendirilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Gereç ve Yöntemler: Araştırma, Klinik Kalite Rehberinde göstergesi olan ve anket doldurmayı kabul eden hekimlerin katılımı ile gerçekleştirilmiş olup örneklem büyüklüğü 103’dür. Veriler yazarlar tarafından hazırlanan anket “Klinik Kalite Bilgi ve Algı Düzeyi” aracılığı ile toplanmıştır. Veriler SPSS 25 programı ile analiz edilmiştir. Araştırma anketinin cronbach alfa değeri 0,97 olarak bulunmuştur. Bulgular: Çalışmaya katılanların %72,5’i erkek (n=75), %27,2’si kadındır. Katılımcıların en fazla katıldığı anket ifadesi %69,41’i uluslararası kurumsal tanınırlığı ve güvenirliliği etkilediğine katılmışlar, en az katıldıkları ifade ise, %25,24 ile Klinik Kalite iyileştirme komitesinde gönüllü olarak görev yapmak ifadesidir. Sonuç: Hekimlerin klinik kalite ile ilgili yetersiz bilgiye sahip oldukları bunu gidermek için bölgesel ve kurumsal bazda eğitimlerin arttırılması gerekmektedir. Klinik kalite, kanıta dayalı tıp uygulamaları, güncellenen klinik rehberlerin ilerleyen dönemlerde asistan eğitimlerine eklenmesi, klinik kalite çalışmaları hem maliyeti azalttığı hem de sağlık bakım hizmetleri kalitesini arttırdığı için klinik kalite gösterge değerine göre branş ve hekim bazlı performans değerlendirmesi yapılarak performans ödemedeki katsayının buna göre belirlenmesi yönünde çalışmaların yapılması gerektiği sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.

The projections of lattices may be used as models of quasicrystals, and the particular affine extension of the H 2 symmetry as a subgroup of A 4, discussed in this work, presents a different perspective on fivefold symmetric quasicrystallography. Affine H 2 is obtained as the subgroup of affine A 4. The infinite discrete group with local dihedral symmetry of order 10 operates on the Coxeter plane of the root and weight lattices of A 4 whose Voronoi cells tessellate the 4D Euclidean space possessing the affine A 4 symmetry. Facets of the Voronoi cells of the root and weight lattices are identified. Four adjacent rhombohedral facets of the Voronoi cell V(0) of A 4 project into the decagonal orbit of H 2 as thick and thin rhombuses where long diagonals of the rhombohedra serve as reflection line segments of the reflection operators of H 2. It is shown that the thick and thin rhombuses constitute the finite fragments of the tiles of the Coxeter plane with the action of the affine H 2 symmetry. Projection of the Voronoi cell of the weight lattice onto the Coxeter plane tessellates the plane with four different tiles: thick and thin rhombuses with different edge lengths obtained from the projection of the square faces and two types of hexagons obtained from the projection of the hexagonal faces of the Voronoi cell. The structure of the local dihedral symmetry H 2 fixing a particular point on the Coxeter plane is determined.

Due to different factors such its geographical location, geological structure, the characteristics of the settlements and the inconvenience of the existing building stock, Turkey is often faced with disasters and state of emergencies. The Ministry of Interior is responsible and authorized for both ensuring the public order and security in Turkey and for disaster management throughout the country. Unlike the other professions, provincial executives fulfill their leadership and organizational duties both on the institutions and organizations affiliated to them, and the personnel working in these units and also on the management of crisis, disasters and emergency situations. In this study, the duties and responsibilities of provincial executives in the management of crisis and emergency situations in Turkey and the capacity of provincial executives to manage crises and emergency situations are presented.

Salicylic acid is an NSAID with serious side effects on the GIS. The side effects of salicylic acid on the GIS are slightly reduced by acetylating salicylic acid. 12 new ester analogs of salicylic acid were synthesized with high yields in this study. The chemical structures of the synthesized compounds were characterized by 1H NMR, 13C NMR, and HRMS spectra. The inhibitory potential of the compounds was evaluated on COXs by in vitro and in silico studies. The COX2 inhibitory activity of the most potent inhibitor MEST1 (IC50: 0.048 µM) was found to be much higher than the COX2 inhibitory activity of aspirin (IC50: 2.60 µM). In docking studies, the strongest inhibitor among the compounds synthesized was predicted to be MEST1, with the lowest binding energy. Docking studies revealed that MEST1 extends from the hydrophobic channel to the top of the cyclooxygenase active site, forming various interactions with residues in the binding pocket.

In this study, ZIF-Cu and ZIF-Pt were synthesized from 2-methyl imidazole with Cu and Pt salts in the methanol medium. The synthesized ZIFs were annealed to produce a CuPt nanocatalyst in the tube furnace. The Cu: Pt (3:1) nanocatalyst slurry was deposited on silver deposited carbon rod electrode (CE). The hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) activities for the catalyst were measured in a 1 M KOH solution by using potentiodynamic polarization and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) techniques. The morphological structure and composition of CuPt@Ag have been studied by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDX). It was observed that the prepared electrode surface had not only a homogeneous and porous structure but also nano-sized particles distributed on the surface. It has been observed that the current is increased from 5.22 mA cm-2 to 25.80 mA cm-2 under -1.55 V potential at CuPt@Ag electrode. The high current density shows that HER efficiency increases on the prepared catalyst.

İnsanlık tarihi farklı dilleri, inançları, renkleri, gelenek ve görenekleri olan birçok toplumdan birçok insanın uluslararası göçlerine tanık olmuş ve olmaktadır. Bu durum bir toplumda farklı kültürlerin karşılaşmasına ve o toplumda öncekinden daha fazla çokkültürlü toplum yapılarının oluşmasına yol açmıştır. Farklı kültürlere sahip olan ve bir toplumda bir araya gelen insanlar, sadece kendilerini ve dahil oldukları grupları değil içinde yaşadıkları toplumu da etkileyerek değişmesine ve yeni biçimler almasına neden olabilmektedir. Bu değişmelerin olabildiğince sorunsuz olması için geçmişten günümüze teoriden pratiğe birçok söylem, model ve politika ileri sürülmüştür. Bunlardan birisi de farklılıkları dikkate alması ve onlara ‘hoşgörü’ ile yaklaşılması nedeniyle çokkültürlülük olmuştur. Ancak çokkültürlülük de diğer söylem ve modeller gibi her iki tarafı memnun edebilecek ne evrensel bir genellemeye ne de mutlak bir geçerliliğe sahip olabilmiş değildir. Üstelik son zamanlarda uluslararası göçlerde yaşanan artışlarla bu durum çok daha karmaşık bir hâl alabilmiştir. Bu nedenle bu çalışmada, literatürden hareketle çokkültürlülüğün teorideki ve pratikteki toplumsal yansımaları irdelenmeye çalışılmıştır.

The aim of this research is to determine the reasons for academic jealousy experienced in universities and to reveal possible solutions to reduce academic jealousy. This research has been carried out in the framework of the qualitative research approach. The study group of this research consists of 8 academicians working at xxx University for the 2020-2021 education year. A semi-structured interview form has been used as a data collection tool in the research. Academicians’ perceptions of academic jealousy are defined under two headings as individual jealousy and institutional jealousy. The participants’ thoughts on the causes of academic jealousy are incompetence, inner failure, competition, and personal reasons. To reduce academic jealousy, the participants have offered the following solutions: policy-science culture, encouragement-cooperation, primary school education, competence, and sanction. The researchers have concluded that unless academic jealousy ends up or reduce, universities will lose high-quality academicians as time goes by.

Countries that wanted to benefit from the peace environment that emerged after the end of World War II and that have not yet gained their full independence, strengthened their struggle for independence with the idea of self-determination. On the island of Cyprus, where the Turkish and Greek people live together, a separation movement started in these years in partnership with the Greek people and the Greek government. With the support of the Greek government, the issue grew in a short time and became an international issue by being brought to the UN agenda in 1954. The Greek Cypriot people and the Greek government, led by Archbishop Makarios, who insisted on independence, were determined to get what they wanted by bringing the issue to the international platform through the UN. In this context, the fact that Makarios wanted to get in touch with the "Non-Aligned Movement" and get their support is very important in terms of announcing the Cyprus issue to the international community and gaining supporters. In the face of these attempts by the Greek Cypriot side and the Greek government, Turkey, which has not been able to put forward an effective foreign policy program until now, started to seek international support when it could not find the support it expected from the USA and NATO. The goal of improving relations with African countries, which was first included in the government program in 1963, was the first reflection of the effort to seek support in the international arena regarding the Cyprus issue. In 1965, the government commissioned seven separate goodwill delegations of politicians, diplomats, academics and journalists to visit the countries of the Middle East, Asia, Africa and Latin America. The delegations will convey the president's message to more than seventy states they will visit, examine the possibilities of developing and strengthening relations between these states and Turkey, and explain their views on Cyprus. In this study, the contribution of these goodwill delegations, which were sent to many countries of the world, especially African countries, in order to seek international support for the Cyprus issue, to the solution of the Cyprus problem and to the development of relations between Turkey and Africa were examined.

In this study, we investigated antioxidant, anticholinesterase, antityrosinase properties, and polyphenolic and flavonoid content by spectrophotometric; antimicrobial by disc diffusion and microdilution method; antigenotoxic activities by comet assay, and the phytochemical composition of the Rosa pimpinellifolia extracts by LC-MS/MS. The EtOAc extract of the root (RPKE) had higher antioxidant activities at 10 μg/mL with inhibition of 39.7, 91.2, and 39.5% respectively in the DPPH·, ABTS•+, and superoxide anion radical scavenging activity assay than standard antioxidant molecules. The polyphenolic contents of the RPKE and the EtOAc extract of the seed (RPÇE) were found to be 378.2 ± 0.477 and 305.39 ± 0.568 μg GAE/mg respectively. The extracts of RPKE showed butyrylcholinesterase activity with 19±0.12% inhibition at 100 μg/mL concentration. RPKE showed higher activity at 500 μg/mL with inhibition of 50% in the tyrosinase inhibitory assay than the other R. pimpinellifolia extracts. The extracts of R. pimpinellifolia exhibited antimicrobial activity against Staphylococcus aureus and Candida albicans. The extracts of R. pimpinellifolia did not show any antigenotoxic effect up to the concentration of 1000 μg/mL. In LC/MS/MS analysis, Cyanidin-3-O-Glucoside and isoquercetin in the pseudo-fruit; procyanidin B2 and catechin in the root were the major phenolic compounds.

Phenolic constituents and antioxidant activity of samples were determined by Folin-Ciocalteu's, DPPH, and TBA processes. Cholinesterase inhibition effect was evaluated through Ellman's method. GC-FID and GC/MS were used for analysing of essential oils. the root oil got the highest total phenolic content (898.87 mg/g). the utmost activity was shown flower oil (29.31 mu g/mL) in the DPPH test. the root oil indicated considerable inhibition towards acetylcholinesterase (21.92%) and butyrylcholinesterase (91.33%) enzymes, respectively. alpha-pinene and delta-3-carene indicated high acetylcholinesterase inhibitory activity (66.44 and 48.71%, respectively). The major cholinesterase enzymes, acetylcholinesterase (AChE) and butyrylcholinesterase (BChE), are important in the therapy of Alzheimer's disease (AD) based on the cholinergic hypothesis. As a result, in recent years, the investigation of dual cholinesterase inhibition methods has become important among scientists. In this study, novel N-(4-chlorobenzyl)-3,4-dimethoxy-N-(m-substituted)benzamide derivatives were synthesized. Then, inhibitory properties of these derivatives were examined in human AChE and BuChE in vitro and possible interactions were determined by molecular docking studies. All benzamide derivatives were exhibited dual inhibitory character and high BBB permeability. The most effective inhibitor was found as N7 for both AChE and BuChE with IC

Alzheimer's disease (AD) has encouraged science to find plants or biologic compounds which can be utilized for prophylaxis of AD. Heliotropium genus is presented by 16 taxa in Turkey and they contain pyrrolizidine alkaloids, and certain are known to have antioxidant and anticholinesterase activities. The paper displays the anticholinesterase and antioxidant capacities of the aerial parts lyophilized aqueous extracts of H. dolosum, H. lasiocarpum and H. hirsutissimum. Phenolic contents and antioxidant activity of examples were determined by Folin-Ciocalteu's, qualitative/quantitative DPPH and TBA. Anticholinesterase activity was assessed by Ellman’s method. The total phenolic content of H. lasiocarpum extract was found the highest (738.39 mg/g), however the total phenolic content of H. dolosum extract was found the lowest (122.731 mg/g). Every example indicated that antioxidant activity with DPPH test and H. lasiocarpum presented the highest activities (69.99 μg/mL). Furthermore, the H. lasiocarpum extract indicated considerable inhibition towards acetylcholinesterase (5.90%) and butyrylcholinesyterase (24.04%) enzymes. These findings suggest that these Heliotropium species can be effective for pharmaceutic products that achieve anticholinesterase and antioxidant activities.

Juglans regia L. is not simply an agricultural product, itsfruits, leaves, barks, stems, pericarps, and flowers are all utilized fordiversified medicinal usages. In the present investigation, we examined theanticholinesterase and antioxidant capacities of the lyophilized aqueousextracts of leaves from J. regia. Örnekler DPPH (123.66 μg/mL) ve TBA (209.23 μg/mL) testleri ileantioksidan aktivite göstermiştir. Ayrıca, ceviz ekstresi, sırasıylaasetilkolinesteraz (%40.09) ve butirilkolinesteraz (%56.23) enzimlerine karşıönemli ölçüde inhibisyon göstermiştir. Bu veriler, J. regia'nın, antioksidan veantikolinesteraz aktivitesi alan farmasötik ürünler için bir potansiyel olarakkullanabileceğini önermektedir.

WOS: 000488195200034, This screening of biologically active compounds, cholinesterase inhibition and antioxidant potentials of extracts and essential oils from different plant parts such as fruits, aerial parts, roots and flowers of Anthriscus nemorosa was performed. GC analytical results of essential oil compositions have been detailed described. It was found that EtOAc fraction of root and root essential oil had the highest total phenolics content and antioxidant activity (DPPH test). the essential oil of roots showed the highest butyrylcholinesterase inhibition (88.51%). alpha-Pinene as the major component of root essential oil also indicated strong butyrylcholinesterase inhibitory activity (72.09%) and antioxidant effect. the GC-FID and GC-MS analysis assessed that major monoterpene of roots and aerial parts were alpha-pinene (25.5.%), myristicin (10.4%), p-cymene (8.2%), limonene (6.0%) and fatty alcohol 1-heptadecanol (7.5%). the root and aerial part canals revealed the smaller number of secretory canals which contains mainly monoterpene and oxygenated monoterpenes. the secretory canals of fruits and flowers were characterised by the largest shape and contain a high amount of sesquiterpene hydrocarbon bicyclogermacrene. the high content of sesquiterpene spathulenol (49.6%) was estimated in the extracts of the aerial part. These presented findings represented that the roots essential oil of A. nemorosa may be a novel alternative source of natural antioxidant and anticholinesterase. (C) 2019 SAAB. In this study, known electrocatalytic active metal nickel and low amount of gallium were electrodeposited on carbon felt electrode for hydrogen evolution reaction in alkali medium. Morphological and structural analyses of prepared electrodes were determined by scanning electron microscopy and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy. The electrocatalytic activity of obtained electrodes for hydrogen evolution reaction was determined with cathodic polarization curves, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, discharge potential measurements, hydrogen volume measurements at constant potential and durability tests. It was found that the electrodeposition of low amount of gallium over the nickel coated carbon felt electrode increases the hydrogen evolution reaction activity and decreases the overpotential for hydrogen region. The electrocatalytic activity of nickel and gallium deposited on carbon felt electrode was explained with active sites of surface and synergistic effect of nickel and gallium created by high surface area of carbon felt. © 2018 Hydrogen Energy Publications LLC

Background and Aims: Apigenin and viteksin are two phytochemical compounds in flavone structure. In this study, tyrosinase and cholinesterase inhibitory effects of apigenin and vitexin were tested. Then, molecular docking studies were conducted on these molecules. Methods: Cholinesterase inhibition was evaluated by minor modifications of Ellman’s method and tyrosinase inhibition was evaluated by minor modifications of Masuda’s method. Docking simulations were performed using the Schrodinger software suite. Results: When apigenin and vitexin were compared, apigenin showed higher inhibitory effect against butyrylcholinesterase (54±1.7%) and tyrosinase (49.36±0.24%), vitexin showed a higher inhibitory effect against acetylcholinesterase (66±1.6%). Conclusion: When molecular interactions between tested compounds and inhibited enzymes were examined, it was observed that there were interactions especially between enzyme structures and benzopyran rings of these compounds and hydroxyl groups bound to these rings.

In this study, it was aimed to determine the views of science teachers about the 2018 science curriculum, which was renewed in 2017 and updated in the 2018-2019 academic year and put into practice at all levels of secondary schools. The situation approach, one of the qualitative research methods, was used in the research. Research; It was carried out with science teachers working in secondary schools in Malatya and Diyarbakır in the 2019-2020 academic year. The study group of the research consisted of a total of 31 science teachers determined according to the purposeful sampling method. Data for the purpose of the study were collected through a four-question semi-structured interview form. Descriptive analysis method was used in the analysis of the data obtained. As a result of the research; The views of the science teachers participating in the study on the updated curriculum's acquisition, content, learning-teaching process and measurement and evaluation dimensions were gathered by the researchers in two sub-themes as positive and negative. Araştırma, 2019-2020 eğitim öğretim yılında Malatya ve Diyarbakır illerinde bulanan ortaokullarda görev yapan fen bilimleri öğretmenleri ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu, amaçlı örnekleme yöntemine göre belirlenen toplam 31 fen bilimleri öğretmeni oluşturmuştur. Araştırmanın verileri araştırmacılar tarafından geliştirilen dört soruluk yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formuyla elde edilmiştir. Elde edilen verilerin analizinde betimsel analiz yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda, çalışmaya katılan fen bilimleri öğretmenlerinin güncellenen öğretim programının; içerik, kazanım, öğrenme-öğretme süreci ve ölçme değerlendirme boyutlarına ilişkin görüşleri araştırmacılar tarafından olumlu ve olumsuz olarak iki alt temada toplanmıştır. Araştırmadan elde edilen bulgular ışığında, güncellenen 2018 fen bilimleri dersi öğretim programına yönelik önerilerde bulunulmuştur.

This article presents the evaluation of anticholinesterase effects of aerial parts of Epilobium angustifolium, E. stevenii and E. hirsutum and isolated flavonoids from E. angustifolium, and quantification of the flavonoids by HPLC. Besides, the highest acetylcholinesterase inhibition was seen in the EtOAc sub-extracts of E. angustifolium and E. stevenii (36.51 +/- 1.88 and 39.89 +/- 3.09%, respectively), whereas EtOAc sub-extract of E. angustifolium had the best butyrylcholinesterase inhibition (62.09 +/- 1.98%). Hyperoside showed strong inhibition activity on both enzymes. The active EtOAc sub-extract of E. angustifolium was quantitatively analyzed for their content of hyperoside (quercetin-3-O-beta-D-galactoside) by HPLC. The content of hyperoside in EtOAc sub-extract of E. angustifolium was detected as 3.312%. The anatomical structures of the stem, leaf, sepal, petal, anther, and filament of E. angustifolium were investigated. The anatomical properties given in this study provide a description of E. angustifolium.

3D-facets of the Delone cells representing the deep and shallow holes of the root lattice D6 which tile the six-dimensional Euclidean space in an alternating order are projected into three-dimensional space. They are classified into six Mosseri-Sadoc tetrahedral tiles of edge lengths 1 and golden ratio (tau) with faces normal to the 5-fold and 3-fold axes. The icosahedron, dodecahedron and icosidodecahedron whose vertices are obtained from the fundamental weights of the icosahedral group are dissected in terms of six tetrahedra. A set of four tiles are composed out of six fundamental tiles, faces of which, are normal to the 5-fold axes of the icosahedral group. It is shown that the 3D-Euclidean space can be tiled face-to-face with maximal face coverage by the composite tiles with an inflation factor tau generated by an inflation matrix. We note that dodecahedra with edge lengths of 1 and tau naturally occur already in the second and third order of the inflations. The 3D patches displaying 5-fold, 3-fold and 2-fold symmetries are obtained in the inflated dodecahedral structures with edge lengths tau to the power n with n equals 3 or greater than 3.
