Purpose: The aim of this study is to investigate the efficacy of adaptation of right ventricular (RV) risk scores used in adult patients to pediatric age group undergoing LVAD implantation. Methods: Twenty-two pediatric patients who underwent LVAD implantation were retrospectively reviewed from January 2014 to September 2018. Preoperative patient characteristics, hemodynamic parameters, and echocardiographic data were collected. Adult RV risk scores were calculated for all patients. Effects of all the parameters on RV function were also investigated. Study endpoints were RVF and in-hospital mortality. Results: Eleven (50%) of 22 patients were male. The mean age of the patients was 13.4 ± 3.8 years. The mean body surface area of the patients was 1.4 ± 0.4 m2. In five patients BiVAD implantation was performed. Of these five BiVAD patients two underwent successful heart transplant; two weaned from temporary RVAD and last patient died due to multi-organ failure. Four patients showed signs of early RVF; one patient was transplanted successfully while on medical support. Three patients developing RVF did not respond medical therapy necessitating ECMO and died in the early postoperative period. All risk scores and potential predictive factors were evaluated individually and in combination of several parameters. No significant predictor for RVF in pediatric patients that underwent LVAD implantation was found ( p > 0.05). Conclusion: Neither an adult risk score nor a predictive factor was successful in predicting RVF, alone or in combination due to limited number of patients and events. Large further investigations are needed to identify the predictors or scoring system in pediatric population.

There has been much effort to provide eco-friendly and biodegradable materials for the next generation of composite products owing to global environmental concerns and increased awareness of renewable green resources. Increased use of natural materials in composites has led to a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions and the carbon footprint of composites. In addition to the benefits obtained from green materials, there are some challenges in working with them, such as poor compatibility between the reinforcing natural fiber and matrix and the relatively high moisture absorption of natural fibers. Green composites can be a suitable alternative for petroleum-based materials. However, before this can be accomplished, a number of issues need to be addressed, including poor interfacial adhesion between the matrix and natural fibers, moisture absorption, poor fire resistance, low impact strength, and less durability. Several researchers have studied the properties of natural fiber composites. These investigations have resulted in developing several procedures for modifying natural fibers and resins. To address the increasing demand to use eco-friendly materials in different applications, an up-to-date review of natural fiber and resin types and sources, modification, and processing techniques, physical and mechanical behaviors, applications, life-cycle assessment, and other properties of green composites is required to provide a better understanding of the behavior of green composites.

Background: The aim of this study was to compare our experience of left ventricular assist device implantation via minimally invasive left thoracotomy with off-pump versus on-pump technique. Methods: Between June 2013 and April 2020, nine patients (8 males, 1 female; mean age: 47±11.9 years; range, 30 to 61 years) who underwent off-pump left ventricular assist device implantation and nine patients (8 males, 1 female; mean age: 47±11.4 years; range, 29 to 60 years) who underwent on-pump minimally invasive left thoracotomy were retrospectively analyzed. Postoperative outcomes and mid-term results of both groups were evaluated. Results: Outflow graft was anastomosed to the ascending aorta with J-sternotomy in all patients. The median duration of intubation and intensive care unit stay were one (IQR: 1.5) day and eight (IQR: 6.5) days in the off-pump group, respectively and one (IQR: 0) day and seven (IQR: 7) days in the on-pump group, respectively. Intra-aortic balloon pump was needed during the weaning of cardiopulmonary bypass in one (11%) of the patients in both groups. Postoperative right ventricular failure was observed in two (22%) patients in the offpump group who were treated medically and recovered. There was no need for revision due to bleeding or postoperative extracorporeal membrane oxygenator implantation in either group. In the off-pump group, three patients underwent heart transplantation after median 854 (IQR: 960) days. Three patients died one month, two and four years after implantation. Three patients were still alive with left ventricular assist device and were being uneventfully followed for 365, 400, and 700 days after implantation. Conclusion: Off-pump technique is safe and feasible option for implantation of left ventricular assist device via minimally invasive left thoracotomy.

Günümüzde “Girişimci Üniversite” kavramı ile sıkça karşılaşılmaktadır. Yenilikçilik, yaşamın her alanında olduğu gibi üniversitelerin içinde olduğu bölgeler için de giderek önemini artırmaktadır. Bu kapsamda girişimci ve yenilikçi üniversite kaynaklı girişimler, bilgi ve teknoloji transferinde ve toplumsal sorunların çözümünde önemli bir aracı konumunda bulunmaktadır. Bu sebeple ülkemizdeki üniversitelerin; yenilikçi, tasarımcı, saydam ve kaliteli üniversitelere dönüştürülmesi, uluslararası rekabette hak ettiği yere ulaşması oldukça önemlidir. Türkiye girişimci ve yenilikçi üniversite endeksi 2012 yılından beri yıllık olarak TÜBİTAK tarafından yayınlanmakta olup bunun yardımıyla hem üniversiteler bilimsel etkinliklerini, hem de sanayiyle ve diğer işbirlikleriyle bir arada çalışabilmekte, üniversitelerin yenilikçilik ve girişimci olarak teşebbüslerde bulunması, başarılı olması ve daha yeni amaçlar doğrultusunda çalışması mümkün olabilmektedir. Bu çerçevede yapılan çalışmada, girişimci ve yenilikçi üniversite endeksi 2021 verileri kullanılarak üniversitelerin girişimcilik ve yenilikçilik performansları çok kriterli karar verme yöntemlerinden, PROMETHEE GAIA yöntemiyle hesaplanmıştır. Analiz sonucunda elde edilen bilgilere göre; alternatif üniversitelerin performans değerlendirmesinde en başarılı olanlar sırasıyla; Ortadoğu Teknik, Sabancı, İstanbul Teknik, Bilkent ve Yıldız Teknik üniversiteleridir. Ayrıca çalışmada en üst sıradaki üniversiteler ile bölge üniversitelerinden Fırat Üniversitesinin karşılaştırılması da yapılmış ve tespit edilen eksikliklerin iyileştirilmesi için gerekli öneriler geliştirilmiştir., Today, the concept of “Entrepreneurial and Innovative University” is frequently encountered. Innovativeness is becoming increasingly important for regions, including universities, as it is in all areas of life. In this context, entrepreneurial and innovative university-based initiatives are an important tool in knowledge and technology transfer and in solving social problems. For this reason, universities in our country; It is very important to transform it into innovative, designer, transparent and quality universities and to reach the place it deserves in international competition. The Turkey entrepreneur and innovative university index has been published annually by TUBITAK since 2012, and with the help of this, universities can work together with both their scientific activities, industry and other collaborations, it is possible for universities to make initiatives as innovation and entrepreneurs, to be successful and to work towards newer goals. In this study, entrepreneurship and innovativeness performances of universities were calculated using the PROMETHEE GAIA method, one of the multi-criteria decision-making methods, using the entrepreneur and innovative university index 2021 data. According to the information obtained as a result of the analysis; the most successful ones in the performance evaluation of alternative universities are respectively; Middle East Technical, Sabanci, Istanbul Technical, Bilkent and Yildiz Technical universities. In addition, a comparison of the top ranked universities and Fırat University, one of the regional universities, was also made in the study and necessary suggestions were developed to improve the identified deficiencies.

Background: The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship of preoperative NT-proBNP values with postoperative adverse events in patient left ventricular assist device (LVAD) implantation. Method: Forty-six patients (35 males; mean age 49.4 ± 12.9 years) who underwent LVAD implantation between 2016 and 2018 were evaluated in this study. The analysis was made on the relationship between preoperative NT-proBNP and mortality, postoperative right ventricular failure (RVF), postoperative drainage, duration of intubation, and intensive care unit stay, was examined. The optimal NT-proBNP cut-off values for predicting mortality were determined using Receiver Operator Characteristic (ROC) curve analysis and the patients were divided into two groups according to the specified cut-off point. Result: Median NT-proBNP was higher in patients who died, had postoperative extracorporeal membrane oxygenation, and early RVF. The median NT-proBNP was 11,103 pg/ml in patients with IABP, and 2943 pg/ml in patients without IABP, and the difference was statistically significant ( p = 0.002). The cut-off point for NT-proBNP was found to be 1725.5 pg/ml (Sensitivity:0.929, Specificity:0.688). Accordingly, when the patients were divided into two groups and analyzed, no statistically significant difference was found between preoperative NT-proBNP below or above 1725.5 and postoperative adverse events. There was no statistically significant correlation between preoperative NT-proBNP and postoperative drainage, duration of intubation time, and duration of ICU stay ( p > 0.05). Conclusion: Routine monitoring of preoperative NT-proBNP and comparison with postoperative values are important in terms of patient selection, the timing of surgery, follow-up of postoperative adverse events, and improving outcomes in VAD patients.

Objectives: Polymorphisms in the thrombophilia genes such as Factor V Leiden (FVL), Prothrombin G20210A and methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase (MTHFR) cause genetic predisposition to thrombophilia. The regional incidence of these polymorphisms varies. The aim of our study is to evaluate the regional frequency of the most common single nucleotide polymorphisms of these thrombophilia genes. Methods: In this retrospective study, patients diagnosed with VTE in our center were included in the study. The presence of FVL, Prothrombin G20210A, MTHFR C677T, MTHFR A1298C, plasminogen activator inhibitor (PAI)-1, β-Fibrinogen, Factor XIIIA (V34L) and Glycoprotein IIIA (L33P) were investigated in blood samples obtained from the patients, and the association of genotype disorders was also evaluated. Results: Eight genotypes were analyzed in 2000 patients whose thrombophilia panel was studied in our clinic. The frequency of heterozygosity for the Factor II G20210A polymorphisms was 4,6%, the homozygosity for the Factor V Leiden polymorphism was 0,4%, for MTHFR C677T 7,6% , for MTHFR A1298C 48,1% and 15,7% , for PAI-1 38,8% and 13% , for β-Fibrinogen 30,3% and 4%, for Factor XIIIA (V34L) 23,3% and 2,4% and for Glycoprotein IIIA (L33P) 17,7% and 1,5% respectively. Conclusions: Factor V Leiden and Factor II (Prothrombin) G20210A mutations were found at a higher rate in our region compared to other regions in the west.

CNT/CNF grafting at high amount causes a CNT forest around the fiber and this causes significant limitations in composite material production. Due to increased distance between the fibers, local fiber volume fraction decreases within the yarns. Fiber volume fraction was found to decrease by 2.7–6.2% according to CNT/CNF ratio. The results revealed that there were significant decreases in mechanical properties and characteristic strain values where damage initiation and progression of the composite samples produced from carbon nanotubes grown on fabrics. It was found that Young’s modulus values decreased by 15–17%. Characteristic strain values where damage threshold decreased by 36–53%. It was concluded that decreased local fiber volume fraction and low fiber-matrix interface bonding were the main cause for this situation. Moreover, it is believed that the one of the most important factor that might cause these limitations is lack of adequate wetting of fiber surfaces and low fiber-matrix interface bonding.

Heart transplant is in high demand, but the wait list exceeds 6 months in Turkey. Until a donor heart can be procured, venoarterial extracorporeal membrane oxygenation is an important support option to bridge patients on the wait list or as a rescue therapy for patients with right ventricular failure after implant of left ventricular assist device; it is less expensive than other options, provides benefits such as simple percutaneous insertion, and requires neither sternotomy nor biventricular and respiratory support. We present a case of a patient bridged to transplant with 5 months of extracorporeal membrane oxygenation support.

Bu sayede toplumlar sahip oldukları insan kaynağını temelden planlayarak, geleceklerini kontrol etme niyetini taşımaktadırlar. Türkiye, Soğuk Savaş sonrasında dış politikasında birtakım değişikliklere gitmiş, bu anlamda daha ziyade dış yardımlar ve kültürel diplomasiyi tercih etmiştir. Bu yaşanan değişimle birlikte hükumet dışı ve hükûmet içi kuruluşlar aracılığı ile dış politikasını çeşitlendirmiş, çok yönlü ve çok amaçlı stratejilerini Maarif Vakfı ve buna benzer kuruluşlarla desteklemiştir. Türkiye’nin zengin kültürel varlığı yumuşak güç kapasitesini arttırmakta, bu anlamda oluşturulan yeni kurum ve kuruluşlar da yumuşak güç kapasitesine önemli katkı sunmaktadır. 6721 sayılı yasa ile kurulan, Türkiye Maarif Vakfı (TMV), kamu yararı esasıyla çalışan ve kâr amacı taşımayan bir vakıf olarak tanımlanmaktadır.Bu çalışmada nitel araştırma yöntemi kullanarak Maarif Vakfı ile ilgili gözlem ve doküman analizi şeklinde veri toplama yöntemleri kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sürecinde Maarif Vakfı’nın faaliyetlerine yönelik olaylar ve olgular gerçekçi bir ortamda, bütüncül bir şekilde incelenmeye çalışılmış, vakfın faaliyet gösterdiği bölgelerindeki toplum ve coğrafyaların üzerindeki etkileri irdelenmiştir. Böylece bir yumuşak güç unsuru olarak, Türkiye’nin uluslararası ilişkilerinde Türkiye Maarif Vakfı’nın oynadığı rol ve önem açıklanmaya çalışılmıştır. Zira Türkiye Maarif Vakfı’nın faaliyet yürüttüğü coğrafya ve toplumların sosyal, ekonomik ve kültürel yapıları ile sistemlerinin derinliklerini keşfetmek bu toplumlarla kurulan bağlar ve ilişkilerin küresel anlamda Türkiye Cumhuriyeti’nin gücüne güç katacağı ve etkinliğini arttıracağı düşünülmektedir.

Küresel İnovasyon Endeksi (KIE), ülkelerin inovasyon performanslarını detaylı bir şekilde belirleyerek değişen ve gelişen rekabet ve teknoloji ortamında var olan değişimleri yakalamalarında gelişime açık ekonomilere yardımcı olmaktadır. KİE, uluslararası yenilikçiliği belirlemek amacıyla geçmişi, mevcut durumu değerlendirebilme ve geleceği belirlemeye yönelik önemli bir araçtır. KIE, yalnızca ülkelerin kapasitelerini ortaya çıkarmada değil, beraberinde ülkelerin inovasyon ile ilgili politika ve uygulamaları vasıtasıyla baskın ve zayıf özelliklerini belirgin bir şekilde göstermeye yönelik olarak da kullanılmaktadır. KİE ölçümleri sayesinde, ülkeler hangi faktörleri ne kadar önemseyeceğini, hangi faktörlerde yetersiz olduklarını, hangi faktörlerde iyi performans gösterdiklerini görebileceklerdir. Böylelikle eksikliklerini giderebilecek ve daha iyi olmak için neler yapılması gerektiği sorusuna cevap bulabileceklerdir. Bu çalışmada, Türk Devletleri Teşkilatına (TDT) üye ülkelerin KIE 2020 verilerine göre inovasyon performansları ÇKKV yöntemleriyle analiz edilerek ülkelerarası karşılaştırmalar yapılmıştır. Ülke karşılaştırmaları küresel endekste kullanılan 15 kritere göre yapılmış ve bu kriterlerin ağırlıkları da Entropi yöntemiyle hesaplanmıştır. Sonrasında TOPSIS yöntemi kullanılmış ve ülkeler inovasyon performansları odağında sıralanmıştır. Elde edilen sonuçlara göre ülke sıralaması; Türkiye, Azerbaycan, Kazakistan, Tacikistan, Kırgızistan ve Özbekistan şeklindedir. Entropi ile yapılan ağırlık hesabında ise en fazla ağırlığa sahip olan “yaratıcı çıktılar” kriteri olup en düşük ağırlığa sahip olan ise “pazar gelişmişliği” kriteridir.

This study aimed at developing a geometrical model for predicting the sewing thread consumption of stitch class 406. Stitch class 400 is a multi-thread chain stitch which consumes a less amount of thread as compared with stitch class 500 but more thread as compared with stitch class 300. Sewing thread calculation plays a significant role in determining the exact amount of thread for completing a garment and predicting the right quantity of thread for bulk production. The geometrical model developed was used for predicting sewing thread consumption by using different factors like stitch density (8 and 12 SPI), material thickness (2, 4 and 6 layers of fabric), and type of material (denim, knitted and fleece). The model was validated with a total of 18 samples sewn with different kinds of fabric, SPI, and material thickness. It was concluded that the model could predict sewing thread consumption with more than 97.18% accuracy.

Teknolojik gelişmelerin hızla yayıldığı bir dünyada yenilikçi bir anlayışı benimseyen ve risk alabilen kişilerin, oluşan yeni yapıya uyum sağlamada ve başarıyı yakalamada daha fazla şansı olacaktır. Teknolojik gelişmelerle birlikte iş hayatında da büyük değişimlerin yaşanması çalışanların yeni koşullara uyum sağlamasını gerekli kılmıştır. Bu düşünceden hareketle yenilik kapasitesinin artırılmasına önemli etkileri olduğu düşünülen eğitim aktivitelerinin potansiyel iş gücünü oluşturan üniversite öğrencilerinin bireysel yenilikçilik düzeylerini farklılaştırıp farklılaştırmadığının analizinin yapılması, günümüzün en önemli rekabet aracı olan yenilikçiliğin artırılmasına katkı sağlayabilecektir. Bu hedef doğrultusunda yapılan bu çalışmada üniversite öğrencilerinin yenilikçilikle ilgili herhangi bir eğitim alma durumlarının yenilikçilik düzeyine etkileri incelenmiştir. Bölge üniversitelerinde öğrenim gören 895 öğrenciyle yapılan anket çalışmasından elde edilen sonuçlara göre yenilikçilikle ilgili konularda eğitim faaliyetlerine katılmak yenilikçilik düzeyini pozitif yönde etkilemektedir. Elde edilen bulgular yükseköğretim kurumlarında yenilikçiliği teşvik eden müfredat ve faaliyet tasarımı çalışmalarını cesaretlendirici niteliktedir.

Researchers are using different statistical techniques for process optimisation and product development both in academia and industries. Similarly, several statistical tools are being employed in the textile industry for process optimisation during the manufacturing of different products. The purpose of this study was to analyse different Taguchi-based techniques in the multi-response optimisation of selected industrial processes and then to generalise the outcomes. Herein, six different Taguchi-based multi-response optimisation techniques, including grey relational analysis (GRA), the weighted signal-to-noise (WSN) ratio, principal component analysis, VIKOR (VlseKriterijumska Optimizacija I Kompromisno Resenje), the multiple response signal-to-noise ratio, and Fuzzy logic were compared against three data sets of industrial processes. The researchers herein optimised cotton dyeing, the finishing of textile to make them oleo-hydrophobic, and the production of rhamnolipids (bio-surfactants). The results demonstrated that the Fuzzy logic-based Taguchi method gave the best optimisation amongst all the other approaches, followed by GRA and WSN for all the selected processes. The said statistical techniques were applied to specific textile and biotechnological processes. The outcomes of this study can help researchers in practical implementation in industrial sectors. In this study, a comparative analysis of the performances of six Taguchi-based multi-response optimisation techniques was conducted for potential industrial processes, particularly textile processing .

This work explains a novel method of producing activated carbon using laser treatment. Acrylic coated glass samples were developed by padding a glass non-woven sheet in 30% acrylic fibre solution (PAN solution) from waste acrylic bathmats. Samples were then dried and cured at different temperatures. After curing, stabilisation was performed at 230 °C with a heating rate of 50 °C hr-1. Infrared laser irradiation was performed on the stabilised web using a commercial pulsed infrared laser for carbonisation. The resultant acrylic glass carbon composite (AGCC) was characterised with the help of x-ray diffraction analysis, energy dispersive w-ray, and a scanning electron microscope to determine the increase in crystallinity as well as the percentage of carbon and surface roughness of the carbon glass composites. The adsorption capacity of the activated carbon (AC) glass composite prepared was determined by changing process inputs like the concentration of dye, the amount of AC glass composite, the agitation speed and pH. The results were analysed through different adsorption isotherms. It was established that the Freundlich model can more effectively describe results due to the development of heterogeneous surface characteristics. The kinetics of adsorption were studied using first order and second order models.

Objective We aim to compare the heparin dose regimen in terms of bleeding, reoperation rate due to severe bleeding, and the amount of transfusion of the blood products in patients who underwent surgery for type A aortic dissection (TAAD). Materials and Methods Between January 2018 and August 2021, 90 adult patients who underwent for TAAD were included. Primary outcome measures were postoperative bleeding amount and blood product transfusion requirements. Two different protocols performed in TAAD surgery in our clinic. In this pre- and postimplementation study, before October 2019, the standard-dose heparin protocol (SH group) was used and after November 2019, the low-dose heparin protocol (LH group) was used and two groups were compared. Mechanical ventilation duration, length of intensive care unit and hospital stay, postoperative drainage volumes, blood product transfusions, reoperations due to bleeding, and in-hospital mortality rates were recorded. Results The dosages of heparin and activated clotting time values, as well as the additional heparin requirement, were significantly different between the two groups (p Conclusion We found that the low-dose heparin regimen resulted in significantly less postoperative total drainage and RBC transfusion requirement in patients who underwent for TAAD.

Staple line bleeding control (SLBC) after laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy (LSG) is a serious problem. Cauterization alone is generally not preferred because of concerns about weakening the staple line. The aim of this study was to compare the suturing and monopolar cauterization methods for SLBC in LSG.212 patients were divided into two groups as cautery and suture groups. Demographic characteristics, intraoperative, and post-operative results were analyzed.Post-operative complications were seen in seven patients, four of them staple line bleeding (three patients were in the cautery group and one patient was in the suture group), and three of them leakage (all patients were in the suture group) from the staple line. There was no significant difference between the groups in terms of staple line bleeding (p = 0.35), staple line leakage (p = 0.09), blood loss (p = 0.12), intraoperative complications (p = 0.16), post-operative hemoglobin decrease (p = 0.63), and length of hospital stay (p = 0.35), but the operation time was longer in the suture group.This is the first study in literature comparing monopolar cauterization with another technique. Monopolar cauterization can be used for SLBC in LSG. It is a safe and efficient method as well as inexpensive.El control del sangrado de la línea de grapas (SLBC) después de la gastrectomía en manga laparoscópica(LSG) es un problema grave. Generalmente, no se prefiere la cauterización sola debido a preocupaciones sobre el debilitamiento de la línea de grapas. El objetivo de este estudio fue comparar los métodos de sutura y cauterización monopolar para SLBC en LSG.212 pacientes fueron divididos en 2 grupos de cauterización y sutura. Se analizaron las características demográficas, los resultados intraoperatorios y posoperatorios.Se observaron complicaciones posoperatorias en siete pacientes, cuatro de ellos sangrado en la línea de grapas (tres pacientes estaban en el grupo de cauterización, un paciente en el grupo de sutura) y tres de ellos fuga (todos los pacientes estaban en el grupo de sutura) del línea de grapas. No hubo diferencia significativa entre los grupos en términos de sangrado de la línea de grapas (p = 0.35), fuga dela línea de grapas (p = 0.09), pérdida de sangre (p = 0.12), complicaciones intraoperatorias (p = 0.16), disminución de hemoglobina postoperatoria (p = 0.63), duración dela estancia hospitalaria (p = 0.35), pero el tiempo de operación fue mayor en el grupo de sutura.Este es el primer estudio que compara la cauterización monopolar con otra técnica. La cauterización monopolar se puede utilizar para SLBC en LSG. Es un método seguro, eficaz y económico.

In this study, the mechanical properties of flax, jute and jute/carbon woven fabrics, and their composites were investigated and compared with 3K carbon fabric composites. Mechanical properties of yarn, fabric and composites were separately investigated and compared for each scales. In addition, yarn and fabric structures were characterized. It was found that, fabric structure, yarn physical properties and fiber cross-section and fiber molecular structure parameters of reinforcement have seriously effect on the composite mechanical properties. It can be concluded that fabric tensile strength attribute to composite tensile strength, but there was not a direct relation between fabric tensile strength and composite tensile strength. The tensile strength of natural fiber fabrics were determined to be significantly reduced depending on the temperature increasing. This condition should be considered as a important limitation for composite applications of natural fibers. Mechanical test results are proved that natural fiber composites not to be an important alternative to conventional composites.

This research work aims at modeling the sewing thread consumption for stitch class 301 through image analysis by using Fourier series. A mathematical model was developed by using the geometry of stitch class 301 for calculating sewing thread consumption. The modeling of stitch class 301 was conducted by changing the stitch density and thickness of the stitched fabric. The stitch density was adjusted by varying the stitch length (2, 3 and 4 mm) and the thickness of stitched fabric (2, 3 and 4 plies of fabric).The interlacement of sewing thread between the needle and bobbin was used for the measurement of arc length of one stitch. The total consumption of sewing thread was determined by multiplying the arc length by 4. The developed model was verified by using nine different stitched samples for comparing the predicted and measured values of sewing thread consumption. This model predicted the sewing thread consumption with 95% accuracy. Error percentages were also calculated for determining the major influencing factors that affected the sewing thread consumption. The proposed model can effectively be employed in garment industries for determining sewing thread consumption.
