Aim: Dyslipidemia is an established risk factors for cardiovascular disease. Increased triglyceride (TG), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) levels, and decreased HDL-C levels were associated with increased cardiovascular risk. Recently, comprehensive lipid profile indices derived from these conventional parameters have attracted to attention. Atherogenic index of plasma (AIP) is one of the indices calculated as the logarithm of TG/HDL-C levels and, it is accepted as an alternative and simple marker of plasma atherogenicity. Although various studies demonstrated that their relationship with these lipid indices and clinical outcomes in patients with acute coronary syndrome, this situation is not yet clear in acute ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) patients undergoing primer percutaneous coronary intervention (pPCI). The aim of this study was to focus on the relationship traditional lipid levels and non-traditional comprehensive lipid indices and in hospital-mortality in patients with STEMI after pPCI. In this study, it is planned to investigate the relationship of AIP with early mortality in STEMI patients undergoing primary percutaneous coronary intervention. Material and Methods: In this retrospective, single center, hospital-based study, between January 2019 and April 2021, a total of 873 consecutive STEMI patients (705 men; median age 59 years), whose undergoing pPCI, are enrolled. The patients were divided into two groups according to in-hospital mortality status namely survivor and deceased. Conventional lipid values were measured and non-traditional lipid indexes including non-HDL-C [Total cholesterol minus HDL-C], Total cholesterol/HDL-C, LDL-C/HDL-C, atherogenic index (AI) [non-HDL-C/HDL-C], lipoprotein combine index (LCI) [Total cholesterol*TG*LDL-C/HDL-C] and atherogenic index of plasma (AIP) [Log(TG/HDL-C)] were calculated. Angiographic evaluations of the patients were performed through the hospital automation system. Results: AIP was significantly higher in hospital mortality patients compared to survivor group (0.59, 0.47, p=0.006, respectively). AI, non-HDL-C, Total cholesterol/HDL-C ratio, LDL-C/HDL-C ratio and LCI measurements were similar between two groups. The cut-off value of the AIP (0.50) was associated with 70% sensitivity and 52% specificity for predicts in-hospital mortality. Multivariate logistic regression model yielded AIP (OR: 3.77, 95% CI: 1.34–10.6, p < 0.012) as independent predictor of in-hospital mortality. Conclusion: AIP predicts in-hospital mortality in patients with STEMI undergoing pPCI. AIP, which can be calculated easily from complete blood, can be beneficial in the prognostication of these patients.

Aim: Thyroid diseases can cause maternal and fetal adversities, and proper diagnosis, follow-up and treatment during pregnancy requires special attention. In the evaluation of thyroid functions during pregnancy, free thyroxine (FT4) is used primarily with thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH). Our aim is to investigate the prevalence and the effects of thyroid dysfunction during pregnancy. Material and Methods: Our study is a prospective study including 960 pregnant women and spanning from November 2017 to May 2019 in Ege University Endocrinology outpatient clinic.100 pregnant women with thyroid dysfunction out of 960 pregnant women were included in the study. Maternal age, gestational trimester, family history of the thyroid disorder, TSH, FT4, free triiodothyronine (FT3), anti-thyroid peroxidase antibody (Anti-TPO), anti-thyroglobulin antibody (Anti-TG), thyrotropin (TSH) receptor antibody (TRAb) were collected. The correlations between TSH, FT3 and FT4 were examined. Results: In the study, the mean age of pregnant patients was 29.33 ± 5.97. Anti-TPO was positive %18 and Anti-TG was positive (5%). 24 of 100 (24%) patients had nodules. 1 (8.3%) patient with hyperthyroidism was positive for TRAb. Age differences in patients with or without nodule were not statistically significant. 1 (1%) of the patient had Graves disease, 81 (81%) had subclinical hypothyroidism, 7 (7%) had clinical hypothyroidism, 11 (11%) had gestational thyrotoxicosis. The frequency of prematurity was determined in 7 patients (15.6%) by the data of 45 pregnant women who gave birth. Conclusion: TSH levels in pregnant patients with positivity for anti-TPO and anti-TG were significantly higher than pregnant patients with negativity for anti-TPO and anti-TG. In addition, the relationship between thyroid diseases and nodule frequency, autoimmunity, premature birth in pregnant women were not detected. More comprehensive study series are needed.

Bu çalışmada, çift fazlı (α+M) küresel grafitli dökme demirlerde (ÇF-KGDD) martenzit hacim oranı-mekanik özellikler-dislokasyon yoğunluğu arasındaki ilişkiler incelenmiştir. Farklı faz hacim oranlarında martenzit ve ötektoid öncesi ferritten oluşan çift fazlı mikroyapılar 770°C, 775°C ve 780°C ara kritik kısmi östenitleme sıcaklıklarından oda sıcaklığındaki suda soğutularak üretilmiştir. Mikroyapı karakterizasyon çalışmaları optik mikroskop, taramalı elektron mikroskobu (SEM) ve X-Işını kırınım (XRD) analizi teknikleri kullanılarak gerçekleştirilmiştir. Mekanik özelliklerin belirlenmesi için çekme ve sertlik testleri yapılmıştır. Dislokasyon yoğunluğu XRD desenlerinden faydalanılarak Williamson-Hall (W-H) eşitliği ile hesaplanmıştır. Artan arakritik östenitleme sıcaklığıyla martenzit hacim oranı ve dislokasyon yoğunluğunun arttığı belirlenmiştir. Martenzit hacim oranı arttıkça sertlik, akma ve çekme dayanımı arttığı, toplam % uzama azaldığı ve kırılma modunun sünekten-gevreğe geçtiği gözlemlenmiştir.

Elektrikli araçların kullanımı artarken araçların ağırlığının azaltılması ise yakıt tasarrufu için elzemdir. Bu ise sacların kesit kalınlığının azaltılması ile mümkündür. Araç ağırlığının yaklaşık %70’ini demir esaslı malzemeler oluşturduğundan bu yolla büyük oranda ağırlık tasarrufu yapılabilmektedir. İnce sacların çarpışma anında yeterince koruyamama riski vardır. Bu yüzden araştırmalar hem yüksek mukavemet hem de şekillendirilebilirlik dengesi sunan İleri Yüksek Mukavemetli Çelikler (İYMÇ) üzerinde yoğunlaşmıştır. Özellikle, 3. Nesil İYMÇ’ler araştırmacıların ilgisini çekmektedir. Bunlar birinci nesilden daha yüksek mekanik özellikler vadederken, 2. Nesile kıyasla ucuzdurlar. 3. Nesil İYMÇ’ler genellikle çok fazlı mikroyapıya sahiptir ve fazların mikroyapıda bulundukları oranda çeliğin özelliklerini etkilemektedirler. Böylece farklı özelliklere sahip fazların sinerjetik etkisi ile çeliğin özellikleri istenildiği gibi ayarlanabilmektedir. Bu fazların içerisinde kalıntı östenit (KÖ) fazı, bu fazın miktarı ve kararlılığı önemlidir. Yüksek miktarda ve iyi kararlılığa sahip KÖ, deformasyon ile aşama aşama martensite dönüşerek plastik kararsızlığı yüksek gerinim bölgelerine ötelemekte ve çeliğin hasara uğramasını geciktirmektedir. Bu mekanizma TRIP etkisi olarak adlandırılmaktadır. Bu durum çeliklerin yüksek mekanik özelliklere sahip olmasının başlıca sebebidir. Yapılan bu inceleme ile TRIP mekanizması, dönüşüm kinetiği ve KÖ kararlılığını etkileyen faktörler incelenmiştir. 3. Nesil İYMÇ’lerinden Su Verme ve Paylaştırma Çelikleri, Orta Mn’lı Çelikler ve Karbürsüz Beynitik Çelikler irdelenerek termomekanik ve ısıl işlem süreçlerinin mikroyapıya etkisi açıklanmıştır.

The virus called Covid-19, which emerged in the last months of 2019 in Wuhan city of China's Hubei province, spread to the whole world in a short time. The Covid-19 virus, which is highly contagious from person to person, has had important effects in Turkey as well as in the world. These effects have emerged in areas such as social, political and economic, especially in the field of health. In recent years, the Covid-19 epidemic has emerged as the most important test of political powers in social, political, economic fields and especially in health. The Covid-19 outbreak has an important place in order to see and measure the preparations of the Ministries of Health for crises beforehand. This study has an important place in order to evaluate the preparations of the Ministry of Health in Turkey with all health institutions and organizations for this process and the social response to their performance in this process. This study was carried out in order to measure the perception of the Ministry of Health in informing, raising awareness and services in the society during the Covid-19 epidemic, which was declared a "Pandemic" by the World Health Organization. In this study, a quantitative research method was used, and the obtained data were collected by questionnaire technique. The data obtained were analyzed and interpreted with the SPSS program. As a result of the analysis of the data obtained with the participation of 411 participants throughout Turkey, it was concluded that the studies and activities carried out by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Turkey in the first period of the Covid-19 epidemic created a positive image in the society.

This research investigates the improvement of impact toughness by changing isothermal heat treatment time for an alloy having high boron/chromium constituents. Different boron contents (0.5–5.00 wt% B) were added into high chromium steel by sand casting. Along with JMatPro program, dilatometry used to calculate critical temperatures and transformation diagrams as well. After austenization at 1050 °C for an hour, at 390 °C high B/Cr alloys isothermally heat treated for three different time intervals (24, 96, and 168 h). According to experimental findings, isothermal heat treatment enhanced hardness and impact toughness of the alloys (excluding 3.10 and 4.75 wt% boron containing alloys) due to the elimination of microsegregations and lowering carboboride sharpness. However, for every alloy wear resistance was not affected by isothermal heat treatment because carbide/boride fraction controls wear properties of the high B/Cr alloys. According to scanning electron microscope microstructures, cleavage fracture, and plowing were observed in isothermally heat treated specimens. It is noted that, isothermal heat treatment time showed no effect in mechanical properties of the high B/Cr alloys because the large amount of alloying elements shifted the phase transformation curve longer times which was more than JMatPro estimations.

This study investigated whether the systemic immune-inflammation index (SII) is an independent predictor of contrast-induced nephropathy (CIN) in patients undergoing transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) for severe aortic stenosis. TAVR patients (n = 130) were included in the study. The patients were divided into 2 groups: those who developed CIN [CIN (+)] and those who did not [CIN (−)]. The SII was calculated as the ratio of the product of the total neutrophil count and the total platelet count to the lymphocyte count. CIN developed in 20 (15.3%) patients after TAVR. White blood cell count (7.66 ± 1.75 vs 6.78 ± 1.71 103/mm3 P = .038), neutrophil count (5.1 (3.9–6.7) vs 4.2 (3.5-5.1) 103/mm3 P = .024), neutrophillymphocyte ratio (4.20 (2.39–7.00) vs 2.75 (2.06-3.88), P = .010) and SII index (1069 (616–1514) vs 598 (426-955), P = .003) were at higher levels in patients with CIN. In addition, the SII index was an independent predictor for the development of CIN. The SII index, which can be easily calculated from a complete blood count, is an independent predictor of CIN in patients undergoing TAVR for severe aortic stenosis.

Aim: Acute coronary syndromes (ACSs) are classified as ST-segment elevated myocardial infarction (STEMI), non-ST-segment elevated myocardial infarction (NSTEMI) and unstable angina pectoris (USAP). Cardiac troponins constitute the cornerstone biomarkers for the laboratory diagnosis of ACS. In this study, we aimed to investigate whether systemic immune-inflammation index (SII) is associated with peak cardiac troponin T (TnT) levels in ACS.Methods: Consecutive patients with ACS whose coronary angiography was performed were included in the present study (n=397). Admission SII was determined as platelet count x neutrophil count/lymphocyte count. Serum levels of cardiac enzymes, including high-sensitivity TnT and creatine kinase-myocardial band (CK-MB), were measured at the time of admission and repeated daily during patients’ hospital stay.Results: Patients were categorized as namely STEMI (n=92) and NSTEMI/USAP (n=141). The findings obtained in this study showed that the median of SII levels was higher in STEMI than NSTEMI/USAP at a significant level. Background: Early recognition and treatment of patients with acute pancreatitis (AP) is important to improve prognosis and increase survival. Many scoring systems have been developed to assess the prognosis and disease severity in AP. The aim of this study was to compare the effectiveness of the Charlson Comorbidity Index (CCI), Bedside Index for Severity in AP (BISAP), and Acute Physiology and Chronic Health Evaluation (APACHE II) scores in predicting 30-day mortality and the development of severe AP (SAP) in patients with mild AP (MAP). Materials and Methods: This single-center, retrospective, and observational study was conducted with adult patients classified as MAP within 48 hours of arrival at the emergency department. Areas under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC) were calculated for each score to evaluate the effectiveness of the scores in predicting the development of SAP and 30-day mortality. Results: A total of 1419 patients with MAP were included in the study between January 01, 2018 and April 01, 2022. In MAP patients, SAP development rate was 14.4%, and the 30-day mortality rate was 1.8%. In this research, it is aimed to examine the leadership capacity and organizational citizenship levels belong to the teachers working in some schools and the relationship between them. Relational survey design was used in this research. In the 2019-2020 academic year, 4025 teachers working in some primary, secondary and high school levels in the central districts of Uşak province constitute the study group of this research. In this study, the study titled “The adaptation of the leadership capacity scale (Olkö) in schools into Turkish: a validity and reliability study”, which was adapted into Turkish, was used to determine the level of organizational citizenship. For analyzing of the data obtained from the participants, arithmetic mean percentage, frequency, standard deviation values ​​were calculated. In the study linear regression analysis and pearson correlation analysis were used. Considering the results of the analysis of this research; the average perception of teachers' leadership capacity behaviors is moderate. Again, according to the results of the research; perception of organizational citizenship behavior on average belonging to teachers is at a "high" level. According to teachers' perceptions, a low, but positive and significant relationship has been found between school leadership capacity and organizational citizenship behavior. Leadership capacity is a significant predictor of organizational citizenship behaviors.

Aim: Methanol poisoning (MP) is an essential medical problem worldwide, and despite advances in diagnosis and treatment, the mortality rate in these cases is high. This study aimed to evaluate the clinical and laboratory factors to determine in-hospital mortality in patients with MP. Methods: This single-center, retrospective, observational study was conducted with adult 65 MP cases visiting the emergency department (ED) of a tertiary training and research hospital between January 01, 2017, and February 01, 2022. Data were statistically compared between survivors and non-survivors. Results: The in-hospital mortality rate was 41.5%. The rate of cases with respiratory distress, low Glasgow coma scale (GCS) (≤8), and delayed arrival to the hospital (>24 hours) was higher in the group of non-survivors compared to the group of survivors. Non-survivors had a higher anion gap (30.5 mEq/L vs. 25.5mEq/L), base excess (-25.0 mmol/L vs. -18.6 mmol/L), lactate (10.2 mmol/L vs. 2.2 mmol/L) levels, and lower pH (6.76 vs. 7.14) and bicarbonate (6.3 mmol/L vs. 10.3 mmol/L) levels than survivors (p

Aim: Thyroid follicular cell derived cancers are classified into three groups such as papillary thyroid cancer (85%), follicular thyroid cancer (12%) and anaplastic (undifferentiated) thyroid cancer (ATC) (3%). ATCs have very rapid course, poor treatment outcomes and they are very aggressive. The aim of current study was to assess the analysis of the morphological differences of ATC cell line with the normal thyroid cell line (NTC). Materials and Methods: NTH and ATC cells were examined with haematoxylin and eosin, the nucleus: cytoplasm (N:C) ratios were detected, and cell cycles were investigated. These cell lines were compared according to their N:C ratio and their abundance in cell cycle phases. Results: The N:C ratio was higher in ATC than NTC. Both cell groups were mostly found in G0/G1 phase (68.4; 82.8) and have statistical difference in both G0/G1 and S phases. Conclusion: The rapid course and the rarity of ATC are significant barriers for clinical trials. Cultured cell lines are very important to explore the behaviour in the biology of ATC cells (such as the cell cycle), to understand the course of the disease, and to find an effective target for treatment.

Aim Chest computed tomography (CT) imaging plays a diagnostic and prognostic role in Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID‐19) patients. This study aimed to investigate and compare predictive capacity of main pulmonary artery diameter (MPA), ascending aorta diameter (AAo), and MPA‐to‐AAo ratio to determine in‐hospital mortality in COVID‐19 patients. Materials and methods This retrospective study included 255 hospitalized severe or critical COVID‐19 patients. MPA was measured at the level of pulmonary artery bifurcation perpendicular to the direction of the vessel through transverse axial images and AAo was measured by using the same CT slice at its maximal diameter. MPA‐to‐AAo ratio was calculated by division of MPA to AAo. OBJECTIVE: Cytokine storm with elevated levels of multiple proinflammatory cytokines and inflammatory system activation underlie the pathogenesis of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). In this study, we aimed to investigate whether increased interleukin (IL)-6 levels can predict right ventricular (RV) systolic impairment in patients hospitalized with COVID-19. METHODS: This prospective, observational study included 100 consecutive patients hospitalized with mild and moderate COVID-19. All the patients underwent chest computerized tomography, detailed laboratory tests including IL-6, and two dimensional (2D) transthoracic echocardiography (TTE) with assessment of 2D conventional and Doppler echocardiography parameters and RV systolic functions. RESULTS: After the elimination of six patients with exclusion criteria, the remaining patients were classified into two groups, namely normal RV systolic functions (n=60) and impaired RV systolic functions (n=34). Objectives Post-hypoxia hypoxia-inducible factor (HIF)-1α activation plays a vital role in colorectal cancer (CRC) angiogenesis. Although glucose metabolism is induced in some cancer types via HIF-1α, the prognostic significance of HIF-1α in CRC and its correlation with 18fluorinefluorodeoxyglucose (18F-FDG) uptake in positron emission tomography (PET) remain controversial. This study aims to investigate the association between 18F-FDG/PET parameters and HIF-1α expression in CRC. Methods Thirty-six histopathologically confirmed patients with CRC who had 18F-FDG/PET scans before surgery were enrolled in the study. The correlations between the maximum standardized uptake value (SUVmax), SUVmean, metabolic tumor volume (MTV), total lesion glycolysis, HIF-1α overexpression, and histopathological features were evaluated. Results The tumor location, tumor diameter, perineural invasion, lymphovascular invasion, T and N stage were not significantly correlated with HIF-1α overexpression. In contrast, the tumor differentiation was negatively correlated with HIF-1α expression (r=-0.332, p=0.048). None of the 18F-FDG/PET parameters was significantly correlated with HIF-1α overexpression. A significant relationship was found between tumor differentiation, tumor necrosis percentage, and MTV (p=0.030, p=0.020). Conclusion The expected association between HIF-1α overexpression and 18F-FDG/PET parameters was not found in this study. However, there was a relationship between MTV, tumor differentiation, and tumor necrosis percentage. Hence, further studies are required to predict the pathological and prognostic courses of CRC using a diagnostic 18F-FDG/PET evaluation.

Objectives The metabolic activities of tumors can be calculated volumetrically during positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) imaging using metabolic tumor volume (MTV) and total lesion glycolysis (TLG). This study aimed to evaluate the roles of MTV and TLG in predicting the malignancy risk of incidental thyroid nodules detected by PET/CT imaging. Methods Active metabolic areas of each section were manually drawn by region of interest to calculate the MTV of nodules, and all obtained values were then summed. TLG, the product of mean standardized uptake value and MTV, was calculated by multiplying two values. All participants underwent thyroid ultrasonography imaging. All nodules were divided into risk classes according to the European Thyroid Image Reporting and Data System (EU-TIRADS) that was developed by the European Thyroid Association. The American Thyroid Association Guidelines were used to determine which thyroid nodules would undergo thyroid fine-needle biopsy (FNAB). Results were classified according to the Bethesda scoring system. Results TLG levels were significantly higher in malignant or malignant-suspicious nodules than in benign nodules (p=0.013). Although MTV levels were high in malignant or malignant-suspicious nodules than in benign and non-diagnostic nodules, it was statistically insignificant at limit values (p=0.079). Areas under curve (AUC) were 0.726 (p=0.005) and AUC: 0.668 (p=0.039) for TLG and MTV, respectively. The 2.3 g cut-off value of TLG has a sensitivity of 85.7% and specificity of 59.0%. The 1.7 mL cut-off value of MTV has a sensitivity of 78.6% and specificity of 60.4%. Conclusion We believe that TLG evaluation will be useful in predicting high-risk malignancy or malignancy suspicion based on EU-TIRADS risk classification of incidental thyroid nodules detected in PET/CT images. We believe that unnecessary thyroid FNABs can be avoided for thyroid incidental nodules if such relation and cut-off values are determined and that it will be useful in hastening the operation of the necessary patients.

Dünya 2020 yılında ’’Pandemi’’ ifadesinin tüm anlamı ve gerçekliği ile yüzleşti ve Pandemi ile mücadelenin ancak toplumsal uyum ile sağlanabileceği gerçeği bu sürecin değişmez tek doğrusu oldu. Bu süreç içerisinde Süleyman Demirel Üniversitesi Hastanesi olarak gelişmeleri başından bu yana çok ciddiye alarak takip ettik, hastanemizin alışık olmadığı çalışma düzenine geçmeye dair kararları almakta çok hızlı ve dikkatli, hastanemizin alışık olduğu çalışma düzenine geri dönmek ile ilgili kararları almakta ise yavaş ve yine bir o kadar dikkatli bir tutum sergiledik. Sonuç itibariyle sizlere sunmuş olduğumuz bu kaynak Pandeminin hastanemizde nasıl yönetildiği hakkında önemli bir arşiv niteliği taşıması ve gelecekte tekrar yaşanabilecek yeni bir Pandemi için de rehber kaynak olması ümit edilerek hazırlanmıştır. Pandemi henüz bitmiş değildir, toplumsal uyumun bu süreçteki tartışmasız tek doğru olduğu gerçeği ile alınan tüm kararlara ve önlemlere azami ölçüde dikkat edilmesi gerekmektedir.

Objective Medullary thyroid cancer (MTC) originates from parafollicular cells (C cell) and produces calcitonin (CT). Basal serum CT was used in the diagnosis and treatment of MTC. If basal CT level is 100 pg/ml or higher, it is likely to have MTC, but if basal CT level is below 10 pg/ml, the probability of developing thyroid disease is low. In cases with basal CT level between 10-100 pg/ml, pentagastrin-stimulated (PS) CT level is studied to evaluate MTC and C cell hyperplasia (CHH). This study aimed to determine cut-off value for basal and PS peak CT level for diagnosis of MTC. Patients-methods We retrospectively reviewed files of patients presented to endocrine outpatient clinic of Ege University, Medicine School, between 2010 and 2019, 176 patients with basal CT level of 10-100 pg/ml and patients with PS test were included to the study. Findings The ROC analysis was used to determine cut-off value for basal CT that can discriminate cases with MTC and those with nodular goiter. Cut-off value for basal CT was calculated as 46.5 pg/ml (specificity; 100 %, sensitivity; 74 %). In the ROC analysis for peak PS CT, cut-off value was calculated as 285 pg/ml (specificity:100 %; sensitivity:82 %). When peak CT level was > 290 pg/ml in PS test, both specificity and sensitivity for MTC were determined as 100 %. The PS peak CT level > 285 pg/ml was significant for MTC diagnosis while level of 117-274 pg/ml was significant for CHH. Conclusion In this study, cut-off value was calculated as 46.5 pg/ml for basal CT whereas 285 pg/ml for PS peak CT in the diagnosis of preoperative MTC. The differences in the manner of discourse in media, whose primary function is to inform, have focused on many studies on communication. The media with different political orientations and audiences from different backgrounds might reproduce events based on their ideologies and presentation ways. Thus, ideology can lead to different perceptions of reality by affecting the representation of newspapers. The study aims to present reviews of how the opening of the Hagia Sofia to worship on 24 July 2020 has been covered by the media by focusing on how it has been reported to the audience and the selection and production of the discourse. Besides, the study's primary purpose is to investigate the differences between the dominant discourse and discourses of different ideological structures when reporting the same events in the news presentation in question. Critical discourse analysis is employed to review the two groups of newspapers with opposing ideologies: Sabah and Yeni Şafak representing the conservatives, and Sözcü and Cumhuriyet represent the left-wing. The analyses are limited to the newspapers' first pages after the first Friday prayer after Hagia Sophia was opened to worship. The results reveal that both groups have covered the opening of the Hagia Sofia for Friday prayer, embedding their ideologies and that they have tried to intensify their ideological campaigns through their manner of discourse., Temel işlevi haber verme olan medyanın olayları aktarırken gösterdiği farklı söylem biçimleri birçok iletişim araştırmasına konu olmuştur. Farklı siyasal yönelimleri, sunum biçimleri ve okuyucu kitleleri olan medya kurumları, kurdukları söylemlerle olayları kendi ideolojileri çerçevesinde yeniden üretebilmektedirler. Böylece ideoloji gazetelerin temsiline etki ederek birbirinden farklı gerçeklik algılarına yol açabilmektedir. Bu çalışma 24 Temmuz 2020 tarihinde Ayasofya’nın ibadete açılışının Türk yazılı basında nasıl haberleştirildiğini, söylemlerin nasıl üretildiğini, sözcüklerin nasıl seçildiğini ve hedef kitleye nasıl aktarıldığını ortaya koymayı amaçlamaktadır. Ayrıca söz konusu haberlerin sunuluşunda egemen söylem ve farklı ideolojik yapılara ait söylemlerin aynı olayları aktarırken gösterdiği farklılıkların araştırılması çalışmanın temel amacıdır. Bu kapsamda çalışmada, iki farklı ideolojik yapıya sahip olan Sabah, Yeni Şafak (muhafazakâr basını temsilen) gazeteleri ile Sözcü, Cumhuriyet (sol basını temsilen) gazetelerinin eleştirel söylem analizi bağlamında incelenmiştir. Analizler, Ayasofya’nın ibadete açılmasının ardından kılınan ilk cuma namazı sonrası gazetelerin ilk sayfaları ile sınırlı tutulmuştur. Yapılan analizlerin sonucunda, gazetelerin Ayasofya’nın ibadete açılış haberini kendi ideolojilerine paralel olarak sunduğu ve kurdukları söylem aracılığıyla ideolojik mücadeleyi sürdürdükleri görülmüştür.

Objective: Although the efficacy of the visual interpretation of 99mTc-MIBI myocardial perfusion imaging has been repeatedly confirmed in the diagnostic and prognostic evaluation of coronary artery disease (CAD), the efficacy of the automated quantitative evaluation dependent on computer programs is controversial. In our study, we compared automated quantitative data, such as the sum stress score (SSS) and the sum difference score (SDS), with coronary angiography results. We investigated the ability of SSS and SDS values to predict coronary artery disease. Method: SSS and SDS are measurements used in the global scoring of myocardial perfusion. While SSS indicates the degree of ischemia, SDS defines the reversibility degree of ischemia. In the global scoring of myocardial perfusion, when the SSS was 4 and above, MPI was evaluated as positive. In the coronary angiography, a stenosis value of >50% was evaluated as positive. We divided the SSS into three groups; mild (4-8), moderate (9-12), and advanced (>13) hypoperfusion. We divided the SDS into two groups as below and above 10%. We compared the subsequent quantitative data with the results of the three groups of coronary angiographies ( 70% stenosis). Results: A total of 104 patients who underwent angiography were included in the study. Aim: To evaluate epidemiologic features and survival outcomes of 8450 patients treated with the diagnosis of thyroid cancer in Ege University Hospital (EUH) between 1992-2017 and compare them with the literature.Materials and Methods: The thyroid cancer patients’ data that was collected by Ege University Cancer Research Center, was recorded to CANREG computer program, and analyses was performed according to WHO and SEER system definitions. Objectives In this study, we aimed to investigate whether Ga-68 prostate-specific membrane antigen positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PSMA PET/CT) scanning is adequate to predict intermediate risk, high risk, or oligometastatic prostate cancer (PCa) as an initial staging modality. Methods The Ga-68 PSMA PET/CT scan images of 50 PCa patients pathologically proven by transrectal ultrasound guided biopsy were evaluated retrospectively. The association of standard uptake value maximum (SUVmax) value of the area with the highest PSMA expression within the primary tumor with the risk groups and metastatic burden is investigated. Results The SUVmax value was 6.18 in oligometastatic patients where it was measured as 10.93 in patients with higher metastatic burden (p=0.037). The cut-off SUVmax value for multiple metastases was 7.96 (p=0.047). According to the regression model, SUVmax value has a positive influence [odds ratio (OR)=1.42], which was statistically significant (p=0.038). SUVmax values for intermediate and high risk patients were 6.91 and 11.44, respectively (p=0.014). The cut-off SUVmax value for the high risk group was 10.55 (p=0.006). In the regression model, SUVmax value has a positive influence (OR=1.198), which was statistically significant (p=0.021). Conclusion In this paper, we demonstrated the association between SUVmax value of primary tumor and Gleason score. Our results also allowed us to suggest that primary tumor SUVmax is a sufficiently accurate predictor of D'Amico risk groups in newly diagnosed PCa cases. Additionally, Ga-68 PSMA PET/CT turns out to be a useful tool in determining oligometastatic PCa, which requires a different treatment approach.
