This study examines the effect of workforce diversity on organizational performance in the Ethiopian food and beverage sector. It incorporates workplace ethics as a mediator to explain in detail the complex relationship between workforce diversity and organizational performance. The study uses a quantitative design, in which data is collected from a random sample of 359 employees from stratified random firms. A Structural Equation Model (SEM) result verified the viability of three of the four proposed hypotheses. Organizational performance is not directly affected by workforce diversity. But it directly changes in response to the change in workplace ethics. Besides, workplace ethics mediate the relationship between workforce diversity and organizational performance. This implies a more advanced relationship exists between diversity and performance, involving effects transitions via workplace ethics, than what this study initially proposed. Thus, an approach to improving firm performance involves reinforcing good workplace ethics practices. Organizations can mitigate the negative impact of workforce diversity on workplace ethics by creating a more inclusive and ethical workplace. Currently, large-volume type IV composite vessel tube trailers garner significant attention and development within the hydrogen energy storage and transportation industry due to their cost-effectiveness and practicality. This study aims to assess the static strength and sealing performance of the boss structure in order to optimize its design. Firstly, a model of the mouth structure of type IV vessels was constructed to analyze the stress distributions in the boss and liner. Subsequently, innovative boss and liner structures were developed based on the primary mouth structure to investigate the impact of geometric dimensions through finite element analysis. This study revealed that changes in geometrical dimensions led to significant alterations in the stresses of the plastic liner in comparison to metallic bosses. Building upon these findings, the structural safety and sealing performance of the boss and liner structure were further validated through finite element analysis. The outcomes of this research can serve as a reference for guiding the structural design of bosses and aiding in the development of hydrogen storage vessels. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The core aim of this study is to develop a poverty and income inequality profile of Ethiopia and investigate micro-level poverty-inducing factors. The study used the 2013 and 2015 socioeconomic data sets accessed from the RULIS/FAO database. The three methods used (Foster, Greer, and Thorbecke index; logit regression; and ordinary least square) confirmed that international remittance, access to electricity, education of head of the household, presence of large number of the workforce in a household, and generating more income significantly contribute to poverty reduction. Ethiopia is known for having a large portion of its population living under national and international poverty lines. Exclusively the poverty is aggravated being accompanied by a high youth unemployment rate and severe inequality. Thus, these datasets are collected to develop the poverty and unemployment profile of the country with an emphasis on eastern and central regions. Principally the data targeted Addis Ababa: the capital city; Dire Dawa city council- eastern province of Ethiopia and Arsi Zone. The datasets contain demographic variables, household details, education, health & nutrition, employment, non-wage income, death profiles, housing detail, asset ownership, household infrastructure, water & sanitation, household monthly expenditure, saving trends, and social engagement. Besides, the dataset encompasses youth-specific core variables such as finance, unemployment, and entrepreneurship variables. In collecting these datasets, enumerators who have experience in digital data collection were involved.
