Despite the diminishment of environmentally threatening development, recent social factors such as increasing local elderly population and shortage of successor of agricultural activities have instead accelerated the deterioration of secondary grassland landscapes. This research, focusing on the secondary grasslands in Aso Region, on the purpose to resolve the various problems caused by the recession of management activities that is difficult to solve by the existing national park planning, considers the criteria and evaluation method for the future landscape management of national parks. This research then proposes new evaluation methods based on the following factors : 1 various people's spatial perception pattern of the grasslands and 2 re-zoning of the grasslands according to the grassland type on the basis of macro landform, and examines the applicability to the landscape management of national parks.

Today, small-scale landscape, such as space use or design of the ground is entrusted to the inhabitants. In this situation, to enhance landscape perception of people in the area is demanded for advancing landscape preservation and creation whose nucleus is inhabitants there. So, the first thing we need is to grasp perceptional structure of inhabitants, and to make situations and thoughts of the people who form rural landscape clear. In this study, therefore, it is tried to grasp the Major psychological factors of inhabitants action toward the landscape integration and structurize the factor for Kaneyama-town, Yamagata, where worked on the landscape integration. First of all, I tried setting of a hypothesis structure model of the Major psychological factors of the action toward the landscape integration. Next, I made a questionnaire according to the model, and carried it out for 300 people. From analysis of the findings, the relationship between the factors of sense of values agreement, attachment and sense of moral obligation and the action became clarified. Unlike the hypothesis model, the inhabitants action toward the landscape integration was directly influenced by the perception that was formed from sense of values agreement for the policies and sense of moral duty based on regionalism.

When people visit special protection zones of national parks such as Oze (Ozegahara, Japan), they expect to have the high-quality experience of a visit without the feeling of congestion. This study's goal is to create a specific index to evaluate the sense of congestion that subjects felt while observing people on a wooden path using a rest terrace as a viewing platform. This study evaluated the sense of congestion of approximately 20 subjects who viewed the wooden path from a rest terrace in Ozegahara. In addition, this study also evaluated the sense of congestion of another 71 subjects who looked at photos of the wooden path while located at the same terrace. The results are summarized as follows: Under the conditions that (1) the subjects could view a landscape of 500m, and (2) the subjects watched people walking on the wooden path for more than 7 minutes; the limit of the acceptable number of people on the wooden path was approximately 100. Acceptability was defined by subjects as follows: (A) subjects perceived the density as not too high and (B) subjects managed to feel a sense of satisfaction. The number of people with which the subjects considered the density as low and felt a sense of satisfaction was approximately 20-30.

自然風景地において利用者が自然風景を眺める際に, 他の利用者の存在が見えることによって, 自然景観の質が損なわれる度合いを明らかにした。日光国立公園尾瀬地域の特に湿原空間を研究対象とし, 利用状況の違い (混雑の度合いや利用者の配置) によって, どのように自然景観に影響するかを現地において検証した。調査方法は, 計量心理学的測定法であるマグニチュード推定法を用い, 近くに存在する利用者と遠くに存在する利用者についての, 視距離及びグループ人数を変えて, 自然景観に対する影響度の評価実験を行なった。実験の結果, 自然景観に対する影響度は, 視距離別及びグループ人数それぞれに相関があり, その特性を数量的に明らかにした。

国立公園の中で重要な位置を占めてきた阿蘇地域の二次草原が, 畜産業の衰退等により失われつつあるが, 本研究では国立公園の景観保全という観点から草原景観の分類を試み, さらにそのイメージ特性を現地において調査した。その結果, 阿蘇地域の草原景観は, それが立地するマクロスケールの地形条件のスケールを基本に9つのタイプ分類された。さらに各タイプの草原景観のイメージ調査を行った結果, 阿蘇の草原景観は7つの評価軸で捉えられることがわかった。また, 7つの評価軸と草原景観タイプの関係を分析し, 阿蘇地域の草原景観は, 広がりや雄大さだけではなく, 迫力ややわらかさなど多様なイメージで捉えられることがわかった。

多雪地域の山岳地においては登山者の踏みつけによる雪田植生の破壊が発生し深刻な問題となっている。これに対して, 新潟県巻機山において実施してきた活動の成果をもとに, 高山地という利便的・資金的・技術的制約の多い中でボランティア活動レいルでの植生復元方法の確立に向けて, 総合的な検討をおこなった。雪田植生破壊の特徴や, ボランティア活動レいルでの植生復元方法の課題を整理した上で, 在来種を用いた播種や移植実験を実施した。その結果, 緑化材料としてヤチカワズスゲ (Carex omianaFR. ETSAV.) やヌマガヤ (moliniopsis japonicaHAYATA) などの有効種が明らかになった。さらに自然回復に関わる環境条件の要因分析を行った結果, 南向き斜面の対策の緊急性が指摘された。

農山村における地域レベル (町村レベル) の景観計画を策定するにあたり, 地域を代表する優れた景観だけでなく生活風景も含めた多様な景観にも価値を与え, それを計画に組み込み, 住民の協力を得ながら如何に管理していくかが課題となりつつある. 本研究では, 岡山県蒜山地域の景観計画を策定するにあたって, その基本となる住民の地域景観に対する認識構造を, アンケート方式による意識調査により明らかにした. その結果,(1) シンボル性を有する眺望景観や歴史景観への愛着や認識は顕著であること,(2) 田園景観への認識はきわめて乏しいこと,(3) 視点や対象が漠然としている景観は愛着が大きくても保全意識は低いこと, などが明らかになった.

滋賀県近江八幡市郊外 「西の潮」 周辺の水郷地帯で行われた土地改良事業を対象に, 修景対策として採用された橋梁や護岸などのデザインを地区内住民をはじめ, 行政関係者や水郷巡り観光業者など様々な立場の人達に評価してもらい, 水郷の景観デザインとしての評価と, 観察者の立場の違いによる評価構造について分析した。その結果, 水郷にふさわしいデザインや, 地区内住民と外部の人々との評価の違いなどが明らかになった。

モデルスコープシステムによって得られるシークェンス景観画像を利用した空間設計の方法や手順について検討を加えるとともに, 本システムのこうした機能を活用して街路樹の植栽パターン, 特に樹木の大きさ (樹高, 枝張り) や植栽間隔といった要素が歩行者にどのような心理的効果を与えるか, またその管理方法について明らかにした. さらに, これらの実験を通して本システムの空間設計の道具としての可能性を明らかにした.

本研究では,東京農業大学地域環境科学部の学生が,成城幼稚園教諭と連携し,園庭を活用した,年少児,年中児,年長児の各年齢に適した環教教育プログラムを開発・実施した。その結果,学生は,園児の観察力や理解力を高め,園庭の植物を通じて,環境への気付きを促すプログラム開発や,教材制作に大きく貢献した。また,地域環境科学の学生と,幼稚園教諭との話合いにより,幼稚園教諭が持つ幼児の感性や,表現力・創造力を引き出す教育指導をプログラムに取りこむことができ,園児の年齢や能力に適したプログラム開発が可能となった。さらには,園児への教育効果は,(1)自然への観察力や理解力の向上,(2)自然への関心をきっかけとした想像力,表現力への活用,(3)学生との交流による園児の人間関係を構築する力が挙げられた。, In this research, the undergraduate students of the Faculty of Regional Environment Science in Tokyo University of Agriculture conducted the development of environmental education programs utilizing the play grounds of Seijo Kindergarten in accordance with age groups of 1st, 2nd and 3rd grades, in cooperation with teachers of the kindergarten. As a result, the postgraduate students made a meaningful contribution to the development of environmental education programs and learning materials aiming at the cultivation of children's ability to observe and understand nature. Discussions between undergraduate students and teachers ensured the incorporation of teachers' educational know-hows to bring out children's expression ability and creativity into environmental education programs.This enabled the students to have an advanced approach to develop age and ability appropriate programs. The educational effects of environmental education programs were shown in children's communication ability to build up human relationship through the application of the ability to consider and express, motivated by the interest in nature, and the communication experience with undergraduate students.
