El trabajo de investigación de la instalación y monitorización de placas solares tiene como objetivo la implementación y seguimiento de la producción de las placas solares que se instalarán en la cubierta del edificio L de la Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona, la biblioteca de Humanidades, situada en el eje norte de la UAB con una orientación suroeste de 41º respecto al sud. Primero de todo se visita la cubierta donde se hará la instalación, donde se tomarán todas las medidas pertinentes para que de esa forma se pueda dibujar en 2D con AutoCAD, que luego nos servirá para saber el tamaño de la instalación. Para saber dónde podremos colocar las placas se empezará por 2 pasos fundamentales, primero de todo la medida de cada panel solar se elegirá una JAM66S30 de 505 Wp/MR, la cual actualmente en el mercado es de las mejores placas ya que llega a generar 505 Wp y tiene un rendimiento del 21,3%. Una vez que tenemos las medidas y el tipo de placas que queremos poner, procederemos a saber la zona donde es posible colocar las placas o dicho de otra manera donde no da la sombra. Este proceso se realizará con el programa Sketchup Pro, donde se podrá graficar el edificio en 3d y mediante la zona horaria y la orientación que tiene el edificio respecto al sol, podremos saber cuál es el área ocupada de la cubierta por sombra. Seguidamente se calcula la sombra que ocupará cada placa para saber la distancia que se tendrá que dejar entre placas, este cálculo se realizará tanto con la fórmula de cálculo de sombras como con un software online de mono solar, el cual poniendo los parámetros de la fórmula te hace todo el cálculo, tanto el mínimo como el recomendable. Con el modelo de sombras hecho y el área que podemos ocupar poniendo placas, recuperaremos el plano hecho en 2d de AutoCAD, y con eso haremos una estimación de las placas solares que pueden instalarse, la primera fase se harán dos suposiciones la primera de ellas colocando las placas al sud y la segunda al suroeste. Wastes from tanneries present a good opportunity to produce biogas and use it in high temperature fuel cells for combined heat and power systems. Biogas is considered a renewable fuel, domestically produced and free of carbon emissions, while molten carbonate fuel cells are ultra-clean and highly efficient power generators. In this paper, we study the economic viability of a fuel cell (considerating capacities from 300kW to 1200kW) operating on biogas. The results are based on Spanish legislation, which establishes a special feed-in tariff for biogas and cogeneration. Paybacks range from 5.7 to 8.5 years depending on the fuel cell capacity. Due to the high investment and operating and maintenance cost, the Spanish feed-in tariff for cogeneration using biogas is not enough to make the project economically viable in a short-term. Els materials de canvi de fase (PCM) han estat considerats per a l'emmagatzematge tèrmic en edificis des de 1980. Amb la inclusió dels PCM en plaques de guix, guix, formigó o altres materials que s'utilitzen per a cobrir les parets, l'emmagatzematge tèrmic pot ser part de les estructures fins i tot en edificis lleugers. Les noves tècniques de microencapsulació han obert moltes possibilitats en aplicacions per a edificis. El treball que es presenta és el desenvolupament d'un formigó innovador mesclat amb PCM microencapsulat, amb un punt de fusió de 26 ºC i una entalpia de canvi de fase de 110 kJ/kg. El primer experiment va ser la inclusió del PCM microencapsulat dins del formigó i la construcció d'una caseta amb aquest nou formigó- PCM. Es va construir una segona caseta al costat de la primera amb les mateixes característiques i orientació però amb formigó convencional que serveix com a referència. Durant els anys 2005 i 2006 es va analitzar el comportament d'ambdues casetes i més tard es va edificar un mur Trombe a la paret sud de totes dues per investigar la seva influència durant la tardor i l'hivern., Phase change materials (PCM) have been viable for thermal storage in buildings since before 1980. With the advent of gypsum board, plaster, concrete or other wall covering materials containing PCM, thermal storage can be part of the building structure even for lightweight buildings. New microencapsulation techniques offer many possibilities in building applications. The work we present here uses an innovative concrete that contains a commercial microencapsulated PCM with a melting point of 26ºC and a phase change enthalpy of 110 kJ/kg. First we introduced the microencapsulated PCM into the concrete, and then we constructed a small house-sized cubicle from this new PCM-concrete. A second cubicle with the exact same characteristics and orientation, but built from standard concrete, was located next to the first as a reference system. We tested the behaviour of the cubicles in 2005 and 2006. Later, a Trombe wall was added to the cubicles to study its effect during autumn and winter.

The effect of using external vertical fins in Phase Change Materials (PCM) modules to improve the natural convection coefficient in water is studied in this paper. The use of PCM in a water tank working with a solar system is able to store a lot of energy, but it is necessary to transfer this energy to the water during demand. Optimization of the natural convection to the water is of great importance for the heat transfer. External fins increase the heat transfer surface and the heat transfer coefficient changes. Experimental work was carried out to determine natural convection heat transfer coefficients for PCM modules with two different external vertical fin geometries. Results were presented as a temperature variation over time of the PCM and the water, and the heat transfer coefficient as a function of the temperature difference for different fins. These results were used to validate a simulation code to determine the behaviour of the system using finned PCM modules. The results prove the technical potential of external fins for heat storage systems using PCM.
