Electrical energy is an essential factor to achieve the economic and social development of any country. Currently, society's objective is to achieve greater performance in energy consumption, which requires an efficiency increase. One of the factors that directly influences is electrical losses. There are two types of losses: technical and non-technical or commercial losses. A large part of the non-technical losses is due to the ineffectiveness on billing systems and the quality of the measuring instruments. An essential element in energy measurement and billing is the electric meter. Therefore, it is necessary to keep track of income, expenses and use. The objective of the research is to analyze the impact that the meter inventory has on the energy losses of the Manabí Business Unit. This research was developed with a mixed approach, descriptive and correlational in nature and a non-experimental design. During the development of the study, it was found that the income of meters to CNEL EP Manabí Business Unit during the period analyzed has been fluctuating. Therefore, the demands of the population are not met, influencing the increase in electrical losses. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
