(1) Background: A new probabilistic physico-chemical model of the drifting key parameter of measuring equipment is proposed. The model allows for the integrated consideration of degradation processes (electrolytic corrosion, oxidation, plastic accumulation of dislocations, etc.) in nodes and elements of measuring equipment. The novelty of this article lies in the analytical solutions that are a combination of the Fokker–Planck–Kolmogorov equation and the equation of chemical kinetics. The novelty also consists of the simultaneous simulation and analysis of probabilistic, physical and chemical processes in one model. (2) Research literature review: Research works related to the topic of the study were analyzed. The need for a probabilistic formulation of the problem is argued, since classical statistical methods are not applicable due to the lack of statistical data. (3) Statement of the research problem: A probabilistic formulation of the problem is given taking into account the physical and chemical laws of aging and degradation. (4) Methods: The author uses methods of probability theory and mathematical statistics, methods for solving the stochastic differential equations, the methods of mathematical modeling, the methods of chemical kinetics and the methods for solving a partial differential equations. (5) Results: A mathematical model of a drifting key parameter of measuring equipment is developed. The conditional transition density of the probability distribution of the key parameter of measuring equipment is constructed using a solution to the Fokker–Planck–Kolmogorov equation. The results of the study on the developed model and the results of solving the applied problem of constructing the function of the failure rate of measuring equipment are presented. (6) Discussion: The results of comparison between the model developed in this paper and the known two-parameter models of diffusion monotonic distribution and diffusion non-monotonic distribution are discussed. The results of comparison between the model and the three-parameter diffusion probabilistic physical model developed by the author earlier are also discussed. (7) Conclusions: The developed model facilitates the construction and analysis of a wide range of metrological characteristics such as measurement errors and measurement ranges and acquisition of their statistical estimates. The developed model is used to forecast and simulate the reliability of measuring equipment in general, as well as soldered joints of integrated circuits in special equipment and machinery, which is also operated in harsh conditions and corrosive environments. The problem to ensure the safety of objects which are in the area of blasting operations, ensuring the destruction of hard rocks, remains relevant. The article presents the results of a large-scale experiment to determine the safe conditions for conducting drilling and blasting operations near the active gas pipeline. The simplest and most reliable way to ensure the safety of the protected object from seismic impact is to reduce the intensity of the seismic wave, which is achieved by changing the parameters of drilling and blasting operations. This requires research to determine the impact of blasting operations on the parameters of seismic waves and the development of methods for measuring these parameters. The paper presents a detailed analysis of the seismic blast wave impact on the displacement of the ground and the model gas pipeline. The features of seismic monitoring during blasting operations near the active gas pipeline are shown. The seismic coefficients and attenuation coefficient of seismic waves are determined. It is proved that the readings of the seismic receivers on the surface and in the depth of the massive differ by two or more times.

SHEARING force , *BOUNDARY layer (Aerodynamics) , *SEDIMENT transport , *WATER waves , *FRICTION , *OFFSHORE structures , *OCEAN waves - Abstract
The bed shear stress under the action of waves is one of the important essential parameters to estimate the incipient motion and transport of offshore sediment, and its bottom friction effect will also have an impact on the offshore hydrodynamic environment. Due to the difficulty in field observation, the understanding of the wave boundary layer and the bed shear stress under the action of waves is mainly based on indoor experimental observation. This paper reviews the relevant theoretical models and experimental measurement research at home and abroad, sorts the advantages and disadvantages of various research methods and measurement techniques, as well as the application conditions, collates a lot of experimental data from 1970s to now, generalizes and analyzes the existing research results, including the impact of wave nonlinearity, wave breaking and other factors on the bed shear stress, summarizes the limitations of the existing research, and puts forward the future research focuses. Super- large water flume is an important facility to break through the bottleneck in the theoretical study of the layer of wave boundary in the future. The development of high- adaptability underwater two-dimensional shear stress sensor is the key to making a breakthrough in the study of bed shear stress under complex dynamic conditions. In agricultural production, pests and diseases of agricultural crops, as well as weed plants, cause significant losses in the yield and quality of agricultural products. One of the most effective ways of fighting is the use of a wide range of chemicals called pesticides. In accordance with the EU Directives 2009/128/EC and 2006/42/EC underlying the standard EN 13790, the Plant Protection Administration of the Ministry of Agriculture and the Environment of the Republic of Serbia has established a framework for the control of sprayers and mist blowers. Maintaining sprayers for pesticide application in a good state of repair and proper working order reduces their harmful effects on human health and the environment. The nozzle is one of the most important parts of plant protection machines, responsible for the following major functions: delivery of a given amount of liquid in a unit of time, dispersion of the liquid by making droplets of different sizes and forming a stream of a particular shape. Testing of the working safety of sprayers and nozzles was carried out in accordance with the European Standard EN 13790 which specifies the methods and equipment for inspection. The flow rate of nozzles was measured by an S001 nozzle tester (AAMS-Salvarani, Belgium). The measuring equipment used for testing the pesticide application device can accurately determine any deviation and irregularity in the application.

The aim of this study is to verify whether a Raspberry Pi 3 B+ can be utilized as a low-cost device for controlling a tensile-testing device used for material research purposes. A list of requirements based on already-available hardware was drawn up, which the new control system had to fulfil. To connect all the necessary equipment, a connection board was constructed, and some additional hardware was acquired for the system to be able to perform all the necessary tasks. The whole controlling system was also put in a small enclosure to make it portable. The control-system software was written in C++ using the Pigpio library. The developed system was then tested, and the results were compared to a commercially available Instron 8802 device. A comparison of the results shows that the upgraded equipment can produce comparable results to commercially available devices and is sufficiently accurate to be applied for research purposes for the characterization of soft tissues and other materials. Calibration of measuring instruments in the industry is a process that is done regularly both internally by internal laboratories operating within the companies and externally by accredited external laboratories. The goal of the diploma thesis was to document and carry out the calibration process of a production line within a manufacturing plant, and to deliver a final report on the overall calibration. The result is obtained by calculating the combined uncertainty of the measurement process. As any measurement is gathered certain uncertainties are bound to influence the measurements, in our case we have three main uncertainties which are the standard uncertainty, uncertainty due to the resolution of the measuring instrument and the uncertainty from the calibration certificate from the measuring equipment that is used in the measurement process. The final combined uncertainty is calculated with the standard uncertainty which has a 68% confidence that the true value lies within that range therefore we need to expand the range to obtain a 95% confidence and we achieve this by multiplication of the combined uncertainty with the K = 2 factor. Rezultat kalibracijske meritve dobimo z izračunom skupne negotovosti merilnega postopka. Ko so vsemeritve zbrane, določene negotovosti prav gotovo vplivajo na meritve. V našem primeru vplivajo tri glavne negotovosti.

The “powder sandwich” method was adapted to the measuring equipment at the Laboratory of Radiometric Expertise, IFJ PAN (Kraków, Poland). The versatility of the method has been confirmed. The values of thoron emanation coefficients (f) for 16 materials have been determined. It has been found that the value of thoron emanation coefficient is not directly dependent on the concentration of 224Ra, other factors are also important, e.g. the size of the grains, the inter-grain space and the distribution of radium atoms in the grain. The influence of the grain size on the value of thoron emanation coefficient was investigated.

The computation of energy dissipation in mechanical protective systems and the corresponding determination of their safe use in mine shafts, requires a precise description of their bending and elongation, for instance, in conditions of dynamic, transverse loading induced by the falling of mass. The task aimed to apply a fast parallactic rangefinder and then to mount it on a test stand, which is an original development of the Central Mining Institute's Laboratory of Rope Testing in Katowice. In the solution presented in this paper, the measuring method and equipment in which the parallactic laser rangefinder, provided with a fast converter and recording system, ensures non-contact measurement of elongation, deflection or deformation of the sample (construction) during impact loading. The structure of the unit, and metrological parameters are also presented. Additionally, the method of calibration and examples of the application in the impact tests of steel wire ropes are presented. The measurement data obtained will provide a basis for analysis, the prediction of the energy of events and for applying the necessary means to maintain explosion-proofness in the case of destructive damage to mechanical elements in the mine atmosphere. What makes these measurements novel is the application of a fast and accurate laser rangefinder to the non-contact measurement of crucial impact parameters of dynamic events that result in the destruction of the sample. In addition, the method introduces a laser scanning vibrometer with the aim of evaluating the parameters of the samples before and after destruction.

This article describes the details of the method designed to determine parameters of vehicle's internal combustion engine with compression ignition (CI) during road tests. The method requires simultaneous measurements for the crankshaft rotation frequency, fuel pressure in the injector, pressure in the combustion chamber, air pressure and temperature in the intake system. More, this method utilizes possibilities of the GPS navigation - all the received data is being synchronized with navigation data and saved to the database. Fuel consumption was calculated using the original method based on processing the pressure data from inside the cylinder alongside with the fuel injection parameters, previously received from the injection system and engine tests in the laboratory. Obtained characteristics allow to perform detailed analysis for the engine's single work cycle in the transient processes, which are the biggest part of engine's common work conditions. Measurements results received with help of the created experimental gear were used to determine CI engine parameters. Those parameters may help in simulation of the engine work inside the vehicle, and could be used in engine parameters optimization tasks. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Ukraine's European and Euro-Atlantic course requires the implementation of a number of normative documents, including documents in the field of metrology and metrological activities. This demands the adaptation of existing and development of new regulations. The study examined and analyzed national standards adopted by the acceptance of NATO STANAG 4107. NATO Quality Assurance Standards recommend verification, validation and metrological confirmation for measuring equipment used in the design, development and manufacture of armaments and military equipment. An analysis of the definitions of the terms "verification", "validation" and "metrological confirmation" in different standards and in international and interstate dictionaries of metrology is carried out. Processes of verification, validation and metrological confirmation are offered taking into account the latest changes in the field of metrology and metrological activity, tests of armaments and military equipment and metrological support of tests, as well as some legislative acts of Ukraine in the field of technical regulation. Conformity assessment is used in international practice and in Ukraine to prove compliance with the established requirements. The analysis of the term "conformity assessment" is done in the article. The process of proving the fulfilment of the set requirements for checking the compliance of products with the requirements of technical regulations for measuring equipment used in the field or outside the field of legally regulated metrology is explained. In order to improve the regulatory framework of the metrological support system in the field of defence and harmonization of normative and guiding documents to modern requirements, it is proposed to develop "Technical regulations for measuring equipment of general military and special purpose" and "Methods of metrological confirmation of measuring equipment for testing armament and military equipment”. The time period for implementation of NATO standards in the field of development and production of armaments and military equipment was also taken into account.

Cross-country (XC) ski races involve a variety of formats, two different techniques and tracks with highly variable topography and environmental conditions. In addition, XC skiing is a major component of both Nordic combined and biathlon competitions. Research in this area, both in the laboratory and field, encounters certain difficulties that may reduce the reliability and validity of the data obtained, as well as complicate comparisons between studies. Here, 13 international experts propose specific guidelines designed to enhance the quality of research and publications on XC skiing, as well as on the biathlon and Nordic combined skiing. We consider biomechanical (kinematic, kinetic and neuromuscular) and physiological methodology (at the systemic and/or muscle level), providing recommendations for standardization/control of the experimental setup. We describe the types of measuring equipment and technology that are most suitable in this context. Moreover, we also deal with certain aspects of nomenclature of the classical and skating sub-techniques. In addition to enhancing the quality of studies on XC skiing, Nordic combined and biathlon, our guidelines should also be of value for sport scientists and coaches in other disciplines where physiological and/or biomechanical measurements are performed in the laboratory and/or outdoors.

Reforming the Armed Forces of Ukraine concerns all types of support, including metrological support, the role of which is increasing significantly with the transition of the modern army to promising high-precision weapons systems and military equipment. Scientific works aimed at the development of military metrology were analyzed in the article and it was revealed that the issue of assessing the impact of metrological support on the effectiveness of weapons and military equipment was insufficiently covered. The purpose of the article is to develop a methodology for assessing the effectiveness of metrological support of weapons and military equipment operation. A methodology for assessing the effectiveness of metrological support of weapons and military equipment operation has been developed by building a model of weapon and military equipment operation with determination of the probability of finding the sample in possible states, building a model "weapons and military equipment sample - measuring equipment means" with determination of the possible probability of the sample performing the assigned task after metrological support, determination of the metrological support effectiveness indicator and calculation of the economic efficiency coefficient of metrological support. The obtained results will allow to analyze the existing metrological support systems, to determine the weaknesses and ways to eliminate them, to synthesize an optimal system of metrological support for the weapons and military equipment operation. The proposed methodology for assessing the effectiveness of metrological support for the weapons and military equipment operation may be useful in conducting metrological examination of weapons and military equipment, developing techniques that will determine the impact of metrological support for specific types of weapons and military equipment and metrological assessments that will provide more substantial contribution to increasing the efficiency of weapons and military equipment.

Continuous underwater noise has been monitored in the Slovenian sea near the lighthouse foundation at Debeli Rtič since February 2015, according to the EU Marine Strategy Framework Directive (MSFD). Anthropogenic noise sources (e.g. seawater densities, dredging activities and cleaning of the seafloor) and meteorological noise sources (e.g. wind speed and precipitation) were analysed in relation to the measured underwater noise levels using several graphical and statistical methods. The results of this study showed that average equivalent continuous underwater noise levels were, by 11 dB (L eq,63 Hz) and 5 dB (L eq,125 Hz), higher in the intervals when dredging activities took place than in the intervals when these activities were absent. Variation in underwater noise levels was partly related to the variation of the ship densities, which could be explained by the relatively small acoustic propagation in the shallow seawater. Precipitation level did not indicate any significant association with the variations in continuous underwater noise levels, though some larger deviations in the wind speed were found to be associated with the larger fluctuations in continuous underwater noise levels.

The thermodynamic (energy and exergy) analysis of a condensate heating system, its segments, and components from a marine steam propulsion plant with steam reheating is performed in this paper. It is found that energy analysis of any condensate heating system should be avoided because it is highly influenced by the measuring equipment accuracy and precision. All the compo- nents from the observed marine condensate heating system have energy destructions lower than 3 kW, while the energy efficiencies of this system are higher than 99%. The exergy efficiency of closed condensate heaters continuously increases from the lowest to the highest steam pressures (from 70.10% to 92.29%). The ambient temperature variation between 5 °C and 45 °C notably influences the exergy efficiency change of both low pressure heaters and the low pressure segment equal to 31.61%, 12.37%, and 18.35%, respectively.

In recent years, in the oil production industry there is a tendency of mass use of stationary multiphase metering units for determining oil, water, and associated gas flow rates in the recoverable well production. Automated group metering units, allowing to cover the whole group of wells in rotation metering mode, became widespread. The necessity of equipping wells with individual or group measuring devices is dictated, first of all, by the economic tasks of improving oil recovery factor and production optimization. In these conditions, the task of periodic verification of stationary measuring devices in the field with the help of mobile standards-measuring devices of higher accuracy class becomes urgent. The standard’s mobility and the need to work in the field with fluids of different composition significantly complicates the task of creating such a device. The practicality and economy of the created units first of all depends on a choice of a measuring method determining the design of the unit. This article analyzes the existing types of equipment for measuring oil, gas, and water consumption at the oil production wells. Showing the main advantages and disadvantages of each of them, this paper proves the necessity of using complex solutions based on different physical principles to improve the accuracy of measurements. The authors have proposed a combined scheme of a mobile standard of the 2nd category with a dynamic method for measuring the phase rates at the core. The unit performs a multi-stage partial separation of the input multiphase flow into liquid and gas phases and determines the fractions of water and oil in the liquid stream using a hydrostatic-type mixture composition analyzer. In addition, this article indicates the ways of increasing the accuracy of the measuring installation.

This paper describes a proposal to improve the educational process of students of the Military Academy to support the maintenance process of the Serbian Army aircraft based on the introduction of objects in flight test aircraft. It is particularly emphasized the importance of establishing airline laboratories with basic characteristics of the test-measuring equipment that is necessary to integrate the aircraft to perform a practical test of an aircraft in flight. The formation of aircraft laboratories would form a very strong didactic tool, which provides for optimal synthesis of theory and practice. This concept of improving the educational process would be substantially affected the awareness of the necessity of working together and put together all the research capacity of scientific institutions in the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Serbia.

The non-contact measurement method development is caused by the need for precise measurement and elimination of an operator’s errors. The purpose of the atticle research is to develop a reliable small scale prototype model of non-contact point measuring system. The mathematical model of robotic articulated arm has been developed to analyze the forward kinematics. Then, the prototype model of a robotic arm and laser-sensor mounted technique have been developed to take the measurements. The idea was derived from the coordinate measuring machine working principle, that puts the tip or tool center point in the known position with necessary precision. Most of the production engineers rely on the measurement data obtained from the CMMs. Most of the CMMs used in Uzbekistan are mainly contact based CMMs that have a number of disadvantages, i.e. a liitle inspection time. Also, the ergonomics and redundancy of the CMMs body frame are not acceptable. The surfaces of a vehicle body frame are designed in the free forms to give better aerodynamics and smaller resistance coefficients that result in difficult shapes that is not possible to reach easily with the ordinary CMM. The scientifically-developed robotic arm based on the non-contact CMM helps to cope with this issues
