The cucurbit fly Dacus ciliatus Loew is an important pest that infests some plants of Cucurbitaceae. The study was conducted to explain the insect's ecology and management. Field and laboratory experiments were conducted. Different sticky traps (yellow and blue) were used to attract insects for observations. Three biopesticides, Bacillus thuringiensis, Beauveria bassiana, and plant extract from Tagetes, were evaluated. Three concentrations of each biopesticide (1, 2, and 3 g/L of B. thuringiensis; 3, 5, and 7 g/L of B. bassiana; and 5, 10, and 15 mL/L of Tagetes patula extract) were used in the laboratory experiments, and then mortality was recorded after 1st, 3rd, and 5th-day post-treatment. The maximum reduction and mortality after the plant extract applications were obtained at 15 mL/L concentration in field and laboratory experiments. Insect populations in the field were seen on some Cucurbitaceae vegetables in autumn and spring. The highest population was observed on the vegetables in yellow sticky traps in autumn. A New species of the family Apidae, Anthophora sulaimanensis sp. nov. Is described; main parts illustrated and got comparisons with its nearlyrelated species from Iraq-Kurdistan region. The species is characterized by Mandibles black, bi dentate; Labrum black with two brown sculptures on lateral basal sides; Clypeus without sculpture; Marginal cell of the fore wings broadly rounded apically, strongly bent away from wing margin.
