Although the antioxidant properties of flavonoids are well documented, it is still unclear whether these effects are dependent on radical scavenging or iron chelating activities. Oxidative stress, a state of excessive reactive oxygen species (ROS) activity, is associated with vascular disease conditions such as hypertension. Both the anti- and pro-oxidant effects of tea catechins have been implicated in the alterations of cellular functions that determine their chemoprotective and therapeutic potentials in health and diseases. The present study examined the concentration dependent (10(-7) to 10(-4) m) effects of (-)-epicatechin and L-ascorbic acid on Na(+) /K(+) -ATPase and Ca(2+) -ATPase activity in hypertensive patients and normal subjects. L-ascorbic acid has been used as a positive control to compare the effect of (-)-epicatechin. A significant (p < 0.0001) decrease in the activities of Na(+) /K(+) -ATPase and Ca(2+) -ATPase was observed in hypertensive patients compared with normal subjects. We report that (-)-epicatechin shows a significant (p < 0.001) dose-dependent protective effect against oxidative stress induced by tert-butyl hydroperoxide (t-BHP), which is manisfested as a decrease in the activity of erythrocyte Na(+) /K(+) -ATPase and Ca(2+) -ATPase, in hypertensive patients as well as normal subjects. Non-vitamin polyphenolic compounds are ubiquitous in food plants and therefore potentially present in human plasma in a diet-dependent concentration. The aim of this study was to evaluate the concentration-dependent effect of (-) epicatechin, a polyphenol present in green tea with antioxidant activity, on various biomarkers of oxidative stress. The current study examined the in vitro concentration-dependent (10(-4) M to 10(-7) M) effects of (-) epicatechin on biomarkers of oxidative stress viz. malondialdehyde (MDA), reduced glutathione (GSH), membrane sulfhydryl (-SH) group and protein carbonyl content in hypertensive patients and normal ones. This effect seems to be due to ability of (-) epicatechin to reduce MDA and protein carbonyl content while increase in GSH and membrane -SH group in hypertensive patients. It can be concluded that (-) epicatechin exerts an antioxidant action inside the cell, responsible for the observed modulation of cellular response to oxidative challenges. The mostly aggressive and extremely malignant type of central nervous system is Glioblastoma (GBM), which is characterized by an extremely short average survival time of lesser than 16 months. The primary cause of this phenomenon can be attributed to the extensively altered genome of GBM, which is characterized by the dysregulation of numerous critical signaling pathways and epigenetics regulations associated with proliferation, cellular growth, survival, and apoptosis. In light of this, different genetic alterations in critical signaling pathways and various epigenetics regulation mechanisms are associated with GBM and identified as distinguishing markers. Such GBM prognostic alterations are identified in PI3K/AKT, p53, RTK, RAS, RB, STAT3 and ZIP4 signaling pathways, metabolic pathway (IDH1/2), as well as alterations in epigenetic regulation genes (MGMT, CDKN2A-p16 INK4a CDKN2B-p15 INK4b ). The exploration of innovative diagnostic and therapeutic approaches that specifically target these pathways is utmost importance to enhance the future medication for GBM. Erythrocytes undergo several changes during human aging and age-related diseases and, thus, have been studied as biomarkers of the aging process. The present study aimed to explore the antioxidant ability of metal and metal oxide nanoparticles (NPs) such as iron oxide (Fe3O4), gold (Au), and silver (Ag) to mitigate age-related oxidative stress in human erythrocytes. Metal and metal oxide NPs behave like antioxidative enzymes, directly influencing redox pathways and thus have better efficiency. Additionally, biopolymer coatings such as dextran enhance the biocompatibility of these NPs. Therefore, dextran-coated Fe3O4, Au, and Ag NPs were synthesized using wet chemical methods and were characterized. Their hemocompatibility and ability to protect erythrocytes from age-induced oxidative stress were investigated. The Fe3O4 and Au NPs were observed to protect erythrocytes from hydrogen peroxide and age-induced oxidative damage, including decreased antioxidant levels, reduced activity of antioxidative enzymes, and increased amounts of oxidative species. Pre-treatment with NPs preserved the morphology and membrane integrity of the erythrocyte. However, Ag NPs induced oxidative stress in erythrocytes similar to hydrogen peroxide. This review covers recent progress on transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs) as bifunctional electrocatalysts for Zinc-air batteries (ZABs), emphasizing their suitable surface area, electrocatalytic active sites, stability in acidic/basic environments, and tunable electronic properties. It discusses strategies like defect engineering, doping, interface, and structural modifications of TMDs nanostructures for enhancing the performances of ZABs. Zinc-air batteries are promising energy storage devices owing to their high energy density, low cost, and environmental friendliness. However, the development of durable and efficient bifunctional electrocatalysts is a major concern for Zn-air batteries. In this review, we summarize the recent progress on transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs) as bifunctional electrocatalysts for Zn-air batteries. We discuss the advantages of TMDs, such as high activity, good stability, and tunable electronic structure, as well as the challenges, such as low conductivity, poor durability, and limited active sites. We also highlight the strategies for fine-tuning the properties of TMDs, such as defect engineering, doping, hybridization, and structural engineering, to enhance their catalytic performance and stability. We provide a comprehensive and in-depth analysis of the applications of TMDs in Zn-air batteries, demonstrating their potential as low-cost, abundant, and environmentally friendly alternatives to noble metal catalysts. We also suggest future directions like exploring new TMDs materials and compositions, developing novel synthesis and modification techniques, investigating the interfacial interactions and charge transfer processes, and integrating TMDs with other functional materials. Background: Red blood cells (RBCs) are usually considered simple cells and transporters of gases to tissues., Hypothesis: However, recent research has suggested that RBCs may have diagnostic potential in major neurodegenerative disorders (NDDs)., Results: This review summarizes the current knowledge on changes in RBC in Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, and other NDDs. It discusses the deposition of neuronal proteins like amyloid-β, tau, and α-synuclein, polyamines, changes in the proteins of RBCs like band-3, membrane transporter proteins, heat shock proteins, oxidative stress biomarkers, and altered metabolic pathways in RBCs during neurodegeneration. Modern cancer research depends heavily on the identification and validation of biomarkers because they provide important information about the diagnosis, prognosis, and response to treatment of the cancer. This review will provide a comprehensive overview of cancer biomarkers, including their development phases and recent breakthroughs in transcriptomics and computational techniques for detecting these biomarkers. Blood-based biomarkers have great potential for non-invasive tumor dynamics and treatment response monitoring. These include circulating tumor DNA, exosomes, and microRNAs. Comprehensive molecular profiles are provided by multi-omic technologies, which combine proteomics, metabolomics, and genomes to support the identification of biomarkers and the targeting of therapeutic interventions. Genetic changes are detected by next-generation sequencing, and patterns of protein expression are found by protein arrays and mass spectrometry. Tumor heterogeneity and clonal evolution can be understood using metabolic profiling and single-cell studies. It is projected that the use of several biomarkers-genetic, protein, mRNA, microRNA, and DNA profiles, among others-will rise, enabling multi-biomarker analysis and improving individualised treatment plans. Biomarker identification and patient outcome prediction are further improved by developments in AI algorithms and imaging techniques. Robust biomarker validation and reproducibility require cooperation between industry, academia, and doctors. Biomarkers can provide individualized care, meet unmet clinical needs, and enhance patient outcomes despite some obstacles. The role of messenger RNA (mRNA) in biological systems is extremely versatile. However, it's extremely short half-life poses a fundamental restriction on its application. Moreover, the translation efficiency of mRNA is also limited. On the contrary, circular RNAs, also known as circRNAs, are a common and stable form of RNA found in eukaryotic cells. These molecules are synthesized via back-splicing. Both synthetic circRNAs and certain endogenous circRNAs have the potential to encode proteins, hence suggesting the potential of circRNA as a gene expression machinery. Herein, we aim to summarize all engineering aspects that allow exogenous circular RNA (circRNA) to prolong the time that proteins are expressed from full-length RNA signals. This review presents a systematic engineering approach that have been devised to efficiently assemble circRNAs and evaluate several aspects that have an impact on protein production derived from. We have also reviewed how optimization of the key components of circRNAs, including the topology of vector, 5' and 3' untranslated sections, entrance site of the internal ribosome, and engineered aptamers could be efficiently impacting the translation machinery for molecular and metabolic reprogramming. Introduction: Human epidemiological studies have shown that diets rich in plant polyphenols have beneficial effects on various diseases including cancer. Epigallocatechin Gallate, a flavonoid polyphenol molecule, has been shown to be both chemotherapeutic and chemo-preventive in the treatment of several forms of cancer, including lung cancer. 80% of cancers of the lungs are non-small cell lung cancers., Objective: The study was carried out to see the effects of Epigallocatechin Gallate in non-small cell lung cancer cells (A549) using in-vitro studies., Materials and Methods: Cell Viability Assay was performed using MTT (3-[4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl]-2,5 diphenyl tetrazolium bromide) assay. Wound Healing assay was also performed at different concentrations of the compound. Dexamethasone and Doxorubicin, the drugs with anti-cancer properties served as control. A549 cell lines were used., Results: In the current study, it was demonstrated using Cell viability assay and Wound Healing assay that Epigallocatechin gallate exhibits anti-proliferative activity on A549 lung cancer cells and inhibits cancer cell proliferation in a concentration and time-dependent manner. It was observed that Epigallocatechin gallate (P = 0.0016, P = 0.0018) could significantly inhibit the growth of lung cancer cells with IC50 values 60.55 ± 1.0 μM. The result of wound Healing assay suggests that Epigallocatechin gallate can inhibit the proliferation and migration of A549 cells with concentrations near or higher to 50 μM., Conclusion: Epigallocatechin gallate's protective effect has been shown in A549 lung adenocarcinoma cells in a time and dose-dependent manner. Cancer, being the most formidable ailment, has had a profound impact on the human health. The disease is primarily associated with genetic mutations that impact oncogenes and tumor suppressor genes (TSGs). Recently, growing evidence have shown that X-linked TSGs have specific role in cancer progression and metastasis as well. Interestingly, our genome harbors around substantial portion of genes that function as tumor suppressors, and the X chromosome alone harbors a considerable number of TSGs. The scenario becomes even more compelling as X-linked TSGs are adaptive to key epigenetic processes such as X chromosome inactivation. Therefore, delineating the new paradigm related to X-linked TSGs, for instance, their crosstalk with autosome and involvement in cancer initiation, progression, and metastasis becomes utmost importance. Considering this, herein, we present a comprehensive discussion of X-linked TSG dysregulation in various cancers as a consequence of genetic variations and epigenetic alterations. In addition, the dynamic role of X-linked TSGs in sex chromosome-autosome crosstalk in cancer genome remodeling is being explored thoroughly. Besides, the functional roles of ncRNAs, role of X-linked TSG in immunomodulation and in gender-based cancer disparities has also been highlighted. We have semi-synthesized a natural product 7-acetylhorminone from crude extract of Premna obtusifolia (Indian headache tree), which is active against colorectal cancer after probation through computational screening methods as it passed through the set parameters of pharmacokinetics (most important nonblood-brain barrier permeant) and drug likeliness (e.g., Lipinski's, Ghose's, Veber's rule) which most other phytoconstituents failed to pass combined with docking with EGFR protein which is highly upregulated in the colorectal carcinoma cell. The structure of 7-acetylhorminone was confirmed by single crystal X-ray diffraction studies and 1 H NMR, 13 C NMR, and COSY studies. To validate the theoretical studies, first, in vitro experiments were carried out against human colorectal carcinoma cell lines (HCT116) which revealed the potent cytotoxic efficacy of 7-acetylhorminone and verified preliminary investigation. Second, the drugability of 7-acetylhorminone interaction with serum albumin proteins (HSA and BSA) is evaluated both theoretically and experimentally via steady-state fluorescence spectroscopic studies, circular dichroism, isothermal titration calorimetry, and molecular docking. In summary, this study reveals the applicability of 7-acetylhorminone as a potent drug candidate or as a combinatorial drug against colorectal cancer.

Objectives: The response to antipsychotic therapy is highly variable. Pharmacogenomic (PGx) factors play a major role in deciding the effectiveness and safety of antipsychotic drugs. A hybrid type 2 effectiveness-implementation research will be conducted to evaluate the clinical utility (safety and efficacy), cost-effectiveness, and facilitators and barriers in implementing PGx-assisted management compared to standard of care in patients with schizophrenia attending a tertiary care hospital in eastern India., Methods: In part 1, a randomized controlled trial will be conducted. Adult patients with schizophrenia will be randomized (2: 1) to receive PGx-assisted treatment (drug and regimen selection depending on the results of single-nucleotide polymorphisms in genes DRD2, HTR1A, HTR2C, ABCB1, CYP2D6, CYP3A5, and CYP1A2) or the standard of care. Serum drug levels will be measured. The patients will be followed up for 12 weeks. The primary endpoint is the difference in the Udvalg for Kliniske Undersøgelser Side-Effect Rating Scale score between the two arms. In part 2, the cost-effectiveness of PGx-assisted treatment will be evaluated. Red blood cells (RBCs) have emerged as biomarkers of the aging process as they undergo several changes in human aging and age-related diseases. The objectives of our study are to explore the effect of human aging on RBC indices, the strengths, therapeutic interventions, challenges, and future directions for using RBCs as a biomarker. Two online databases, PubMed and ScienceDirect, were used to search relevant studies using "RBCs as biomarkers of human aging," "red blood cells [MeSH Terms] AND biomarkers [MeSH Terms] AND human aging [MeSH Terms]," and "erythrocytes and human aging" as keywords. A total of 474 studies were identified, and after the removal of duplicates, excluding studies based on title, abstract, or full text, 74 studies and 48 additional studies found through cross-referencing were included in this systematic review. Based on the evidence, we concluded that RBC indices such as hemoglobin concentration, mean corpuscular volume, RBC distribution width, RBC membrane, oxidative stress, and metabolism change with human aging. Several studies have applied therapeutic interventions to RBCs, including dietary supplementation, phytochemicals, nanoparticles, and physical activity, to mitigate aging and related outcomes. This study aims to investigate regional and periodic asymmetries in the impact of the outbreak of the Russia-Ukraine war on global equity markets. Employing the event study methodology, the current study examines global stock market reactions within a 61-day window centred around the event day, i.e., February 24, 2022. MSCI equity indices of 47 sample countries have been utilized to ensure uniformity in the index development methodology. They provide broader coverage of global equity markets by including large and mid-cap companies, representing approximately 85% of the free float-adjusted market capitalization for each sampled country. The study extends the event window to 61 days to assess the enduring effects of the war over a relatively longer period. The research delineates regional and periodic asymmetries and posits that the impact of the war on a market is contingent upon its geographical proximity and trade relations with Russia and Ukraine. Metal-air batteries can play a crucial role in curbing air pollution due to carbon emission. Here, we report the hydrothermally synthesized bimetal oxides (NiFe 2 O 4 and CoFe 2 O 4 ) and their hybrid nanostructures with MoSe 2 as potential electrocatalysts for electrically rechargeable Zn-air batteries. The NiFe 2 O 4 -MoSe 2 hybrid nanostructure exhibits the best electrocatalytic activity (overpotential η 10 ≈ 218 mV and Tafel slope ≈ 37 mV dec -1 ) for the OER study among prepared electrocatalysts in 1 M KOH electrolyte. Among the designed rechargeable Zn-air batteries, hybrid nanostructure-based batteries show superior performance, with the NiFe 2 O 4 -MoSe 2 based device showing the best performance, having a high open-circuit voltage of ∼1.43 V, a peak power density of ∼176 mW cm -2 , a specific capacity of ∼1025 mAh g Zn -1 , and an energy density of ∼1205 Wh kg Zn -1 . The superior performance of the hybrid nanostructures is due to the synergistic effect between MoSe 2 and bimetal oxides, which enhances the conductivity, oxygen mobility, and active sites of the catalysts.

Endometriosis is an estrogen-dependent chronic inflammatory disorder involving the placement and growth of endometrial tissue outside the uterine cavity. It is the most common multifactorial disease that affects the life quality of women in reproductive age. Due to its multicomponent nature, early diagnosis of the disease is challenging. Since many genetic, epigenetic alterations and non-genetic factors contribute to the pathology of endometriosis, devising a drug therapy that directly acts on the ectopic tissue is extremely difficult. Endometriosis is a hormone-driven disease with estrogen considered as a primary driver for the development of endometriotic lesions. This study aims to identify biosignatures involved in endometriosis with and without gonadotropin releasing hormone agonists (GnRHa). GnRHa is a short peptide analog of GnRH that causes inhibition of estrogen and androgen synthesis. Microarray based-gene expression profiling was performed on total RNA extracted from endometriotic tissue samples with and without GnRHa-treated patients already published in our previous paper. The untreated group were considered as the control. Genes were then selected for validation by quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR). qRT-PCR analysis confirmed significant downregulation in(p < 0.05) expression of DARC (p = 0.0042), CDH1 (p = 0.0027), CDH5 (p = 0.0283), ATP2A3 (p < 0.001), RGS5 (p = 0.0032), and CD36 (p = 0.0162) in endometriosis patients treated with GnRHa analogs. Although, CTNNAL1 (p = 0.0136) also showed significant results but there was upregulation in their expression levels after GnRHa treatment. The therapeutic application of flavonoids in the management of infectious diseases, cancers, chronic wounds, aging, and neurodegenerative disorders has been well documented in scientific literature. The citric flavonoid naringenin comes under the category of flavanone and exhibits a plethora of health benefits. Very few flavonoids such as curcumin, resveratrol, catechin, quercetin, and kaempferol have been studied to exert their anti-aging properties in humans. The effect of naringenin in the context of age-associated disorders in detail has not been elucidated yet. The databases used for the literature search were Science Direct, Google Scholar, and PubMed. More emphasis has been put on the recent literature on "naringenin" and its effect on "age-associated disorders." Almost all chronic degenerative disorders are characterized by oxidative stress and inflammatory response. The study aims at highlighting the reactive oxygen species-mediated activity of naringenin and the underlying molecular mechanism leading to the prevention of various age-associated disorders. Altogether, the review presents a systematic comprehension of the pharmaceutical and clinicopathological benefits of naringenin in age-associated disorders.

Nutraceuticals are products that provide both nutritional and therapeutic benefits. These compounds can slow the aging process and provide physiological effects shielding individuals from acute and chronic diseases. People's interests have shifted from allopathic to Ayurvedic to nutraceuticals in recent years. These are often common dietary supplements that have drawn customers worldwide because of their high nutritional safety and lack of adverse effects when used for a long time. Although conventional dosage forms, including pills, tablets, and semi-solids, are still available, they nevertheless have poorer bioavailability, less stability, and less effectiveness for targeted delivery of bioactives. The use of effective nanocomplex systems as nano-antioxidants using nanotechnology has become a promising field. Among its many uses, nanotechnology is mostly used to create foods and nutraceuticals that are more bioavailable, less toxic, and more sustainable. Additionally, it has been emphasized how precisely nano-pharmaceuticals for oxidative stress produce the desired effects. These improvements show improved antioxidant delivery to the target region, reduced leakage, and increased targeting precision. The outcomes demonstrated that oxidative stress-related illnesses can be effectively treated by lowering ROS levels with the use of nanonutraceuticals. In recent years, exploring the potential of miRNAs as novel diagnostic, prognostic and diagnostic markers have gained much attention. In current study, we conducted an in-depth circRNA-miRNA-mRNA interactome to reveal significant molecular processes and biological pathways putatively associated with endometrial cancer (EC). Firstly, we retrieved two circRNAs from circad, hsa&#95;circ&#95;0002577 & hsa&#95;circ&#95;0109046, based on their association with the EC. Subsequently, we predicted miRNAs sponging sites in the two circRNAs and the potential target mRNAs of the predicted miRNAs. Sequestered miRNAs target a number of oncogenes (CBL, MET, KRAS), tumor suppressor (CFT R), receptor protein kinases & GT Pase (MET, KRAS, RAB1B), methyltransferases (SET D8), receptors associated factors (T RAF2, GRB2), growth factors (FGF20), autophagy (BECN1, AT G14), apoptotic regulators (BCL2), transcription factors (T Fs) (CREB1, RUNX1, RUNX2) and gene regulators (CCND1, HIF1A); and others, including some novel gene candidates (CREB1, FGF20, IFI27), that have never been implicated in EC earlier. The expression of hsa-miR-433-3p showed significant predictive relevance (Fold Change = 1.8, AUC = 0.736, Mann-Whitney test p-value = 6.1 e- 14) suggesting its predictive relevance in assessing patients' response to chemotherapy. The hsamiR- 188-3p targets autophagic and apoptotic regulators and its upregulation in endometriosis may be used as for the early stage diagnostic purpose. The hsa-miR-502-5p targets SET D8, T RAF2 and others and suggests additional genomic/epigenomic molecular targets for promising therapeutic interventions in EC. Predicted miRNAs target a number of mRNAs having varied functional impacts and offer an in-depth mechanistic insights for expatiating the biological and regulatory role in EC.Communicated by Ramaswamy H. Endometriotic cells exhibit a notable degree of invasiveness and some characteristics of tissue remodeling underlying lesion formation. In this regard, do matrix metalloproteinases 14 (MMP14) and other related genes such as SPARC-like protein 1 (SPARCL1), caveolin 2 (CAV2), and clusterin (CLU) exert any significant influence in the processes of endometriosis development and pathophysiology is not apparent. We aim to assess whether these genes could serve as potential diagnostic biomarkers in endometriosis. Microarray-based gene expression analysis was performed on total RNA extracted from endometriotic tissue samples treated with and without gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonist (GnRHa). The GnRHa untreated patients were considered the control group. The validation of genes was performed using quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR). qRT-PCR analysis showed significant downregulation in the expression of MMP14 (p = 0.024), CAV2 (p = 0.017), and upregulation of CLU (p = 0.005) in endometriosis patients treated with GnRHa. SPARCL1 did not show any significant (p = 0.30) change in the expression compared to the control group. These data have the potential to contribute to the comprehension of the molecular pathways implicated in the remodeling of the extracellular matrix, which is a vital step for the physiology of the endometrium. Purpose: Cranial autonomic symptoms are typically associated with the trigeminal autonomic cephalalgias and also present in substantial cases of migraine. Autonomic nervous system dysfunctions are also been reported in headache disorders and postulated to promote headache attacks. This study was aimed to evaluate the parasympathetic and sympathetic autonomic functions tests in patients with a episodic primary headache and to investigate, if any, electrophysiological abnormalities in the blink reflex test and sympathetic skin response test in these patients., Methods: In this cross-sectional study, a total of 100 patients, 50 patients each of migraine and tension-type headache attending the neurology OPD and fulfilling the diagnostic criteria of headache disorders were enrolled. Autonomic functions tests were performed in the Department of Physiology, whereas electrophysiological tests were powered by the Editorial Manager and ProduXion Manager from Aries Systems Corporation performed in the Department of Neurology., Results: Significant association ( P < 0.05) was observed in "blood pressure response to sustained handgrip" (sympathetic activity) and "heart rate response to Valsalva maneuver" (parasympathetic activity) among patients with migraine. Although the mean sympathetic skin response latency of patients with migraine was within the normal range, it was significantly prolonged in comparison with the control group. "Blood pressure response to sustained handgrip" and "heart rate variability" were found to be significantly ( P < 0.05) different in patients with a tension-type headache. The blink reflex test was observed to be normal in all patients with a headache. A key aspect of protecting aquatic ecosystems from agricultural nitrogen (N) is to locate (i) farmlands where nitrate leaches from the bottom of the root zone and (ii) denitrifying zones in the aquifers where nitrate is removed before entering the surface water (N-retention). N-retention affects the choice of field mitigation measures to reduce delivered N to surface water. Farmland parcels associated with high N-retention gives the lowest impact of the targeted field measures and vice versa. In Denmark, a targeted N-regulation approach is currently implemented on small catchment scale (approx. 15 km 2 ). Although this regulatory scale is much more detailed than what has been used previously, it is still so large that regulation for most individual fields will be either over- or under-regulated due to large spatial variation in the N-retention. The potential cost reduction for farmers is of up to 20-30% from detailed retention mapping at the field scale compared to the current small catchment scale. In this study, we present a mapping framework (N-Map) for differentiating farmland according to their N-retention, which can be used for improving the effectiveness of targeted N-regulation. The framework currently only includes N-retention in the groundwater. The framework benefits from the incorporation of innovative geophysics in hydrogeological and geochemical mapping and modelling. To capture and describe relevant uncertainties a large number of equally probable realizations are created through Multiple Point Statistical (MPS) methods. This allows relevant descriptions of uncertainties of parts of the model structure and includes other relevant uncertainty measures that affects the obtained N-retention. The output is data-driven high-resolution groundwater N-retention maps, to be used by the individual farmers to manage their cropping systems due to the given regulatory boundary conditions. The detailed mapping allows farmers to use this information in the farm planning in order to optimize the use of field measures to reduce delivered agricultural N to the surface water and thereby lower the costs of the field measures. From farmer interviews, however, it is clear that not all farms will have an economic gain from the detailed mapping as the mapping costs will exceed the potential economic gains for the farmers. The costs of N-Map is here estimated to 5-7 €/ha/year plus implementation costs at the farm. Background: Cryptococcal meningitis is considered to affect HIV patients and those with impaired immune systems. Early identification and treatment are the keys to decreasing morbidity and mortality related to CM. Using 1H NMR spectroscopy, a prospective case-control study will assess the metabolic profile of adults' serum, urine, and CSF., Methodology: The present multicentric study was conducted at Lucknow. The study included 150 participants, out of which there were 31 cryptococcal meningitis cases, 34 positive meningitis controls, and the rest, 85, were disease controls., Result: The discriminant function analysis (DFA) of the three biofluids was used to find significant metabolites between the cases and the control group collectively. A group categorization between control group and the cases in serum, urine, and CSF samples was also made possible by the NMR spectral bin-based orthogonal signal correction and principal component analysis score plots of important metabolites produced from DFA. The cases group had a higher proportion of patients with higher CSF protein levels than the positive control group (BM and TM). Acetone was found among urine samples in both control samples, i.e., positive and negative., Conclusion: This is the first study to explore biomarkers in serum, urine, and CSF in addition to radiological features and clinical symptoms. Hence, a quick, non-invasive prognosis and diagnosis of cryptococcal meningitis in adults can be made using clinical and microbiological investigation, as well as metabolomic analysis of urine samples. The aetiology of endometriosis is primarily influenced by genetic, epigenetic, and non-genetic variables, making it highly challenging to create a therapeutic therapy explicitly targeting the ectopic tissue. The delay in the treatment is due to the limitations in the diagnostic approaches, which are restricted to invasive techniques such as laparoscopy or laparotomy. This accords to 70% of the women being diagnosed at later stages. By understanding the subject, several treatment medications have been produced to lessen the disease's symptoms. Nevertheless, endometriosis cannot be permanently cured. A viable or persuasive standard screening test for endometriosis must be utilized in a clinical context. Cerium oxide nanoparticles have now significant presence in biomedical fields due to their wide applications; however, challenges regarding their safety and biocompatibility persist. Polysaccharides based biopolymers have inherent hydroxyl and carboxyl groups, enabling them to govern the surface functionalization of cerium oxide nanoparticles, hence their chemical and physical characteristics. Because of this, polysaccharides such as dextran, alginate, pullulan, chitosan, polylactic acid, starch, and pectin are practical substitutes for the conventional coatings used to synthesize cerium oxide nanoparticles. This review discusses the effect of biopolymer coatings on the properties of cerium oxide nanoparticles, such as size, stability, aggregation, and biocompatibility. Additionally, it also summarises various biomedical applications of polysaccharides coated cerium oxide nanoparticles, such as in bone tissue regeneration, liver inflammation, wound healing, and antibacterial and anticancer activities. Background: Endometriosis is defined as a condition in which a formation of abnormal endometrial tissue outside the uterus takes place. Irrespective of any ethnic and socioeconomic class, the prevalence of the diseases has been seen among women of reproductive age. Endometriosis has been seen adversely affect the physical, psychological, social, and career of women., Summary: This paper aims to identify and describe the experiences and outcomes of endometriosis healthcare by reviewing the existing literature on social and psychological effects of endometriosis. The study serves the purpose of providing insights on women's dual suffering (mental and social health) and critical comments on the present state of knowledge in order to make future recommendations for psycho-social research. The review included systematic search of the articles from various disciplines like, biology, psychology, sociology, anthropology, etc. A structured process of screening with specific inclusion and exclusion criteria was used to select the articles. The analysis of the articles resulted that woman diagnosed with endometriosis reported poor quality of life and the following symptoms such as anxiety, stress, Chronic Pelvic Pain (CPP), anxiety, dyspareunia, and dysmenorrhea. However, depression appears prominent among women diagnosed with endometriosis. This Scientometric study aimed to provide state-of-the-art information on research growth and trends, areas of potential growth and development in genomics in India, and identify the key players (organizations or institutions, and funding agencies). It was found that the number of publications and citations related to genomics research has been steadily increasing over the years, indicating a growing interest and investment in the field as the Indian Council of Agricultural Research was the leading contributor to the field. Among the 159 contributing countries from 2012 to 2021, India contributed 4.46% of publications. The Department of Biotechnology (Ministry of Science and Technology, India) provided the most funds for genomics research. In the last decade, research was primarily focused on "Genetic Diversity," "Polymorphism," "Comparative Genomics," "Phylogeny," " Random amplification of polymorphic DNA (RAPD)," "Single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP)," "Polymerase chain reaction (PCR)," "Gene Expression," etc. The study's findings may shed light on the strengths and weaknesses of the country's research infrastructure, as well as the effectiveness of government policies and funding mechanisms.

Kidney disease is prevalent in diabetes. Urinary exosomes (uE) from animal models and patients with Diabetic nephropathy (DN) showed increased levels of miRs with reno-protective potential. We examined whether urinary loss of such miRs is associated with their reduced renal levels in DN patients. We also tested whether injecting uE can leverage kidney disease in rats. In this study (study-1) we performed microarray profiling of miRNA in uE and renal tissues in DN patients and subjects with diabetes without DN (controls). In study-2, diabetes was induced in Wistar rats by Streptozotocin (i.p. 50 mg/kg of body weight). Urinary exosomes were collected at 6th, 7th and 8th weeks, and injected back into the rats (100ug/biweekly, uE-treated n=7) via tail vein on weeks 9 and 10. Equal volume of vehicle was injected in controls (vehicle, n=7). uE from the human and rat showed the presence of exosome-specific proteins by immunoblotting. Microarray profiling revealed a set of 15 miRs having high levels in the uE, while lower in renal biopsies, from DN, compared to controls (n=5-9/group). Bioinformatic analysis also confirmed the Renoprotective potential of these miRs. Taqman qPCR confirmed the opposite regulation of miR-200c-3p and miR-24-3p in paired uE and renal biopsy samples from DN patients (n=15), relative to non-DN controls. A rise in 28 miRs levels, including miR-200c-3p, miR-24-3p, miR-30a-3p and miR-23a-3p were observed in the uE of DN rats, collected between 6th-8th weeks, relative to baseline (before diabetes induction). uE- treated DN rats had significantly reduced urine albumin-to-creatinine ratio, attenuated renal pathology, and lower miR-24-3p target fibrotic/inflammatory genes (TGF-beta, and Collagen IV), relative to vehicle treated DN rats. In uE treated rats, the renal expression of miR-24-3p, miR-30a-3p, let-7a-5p and miR-23a-3p was increased, relative to vehicle control. Patients with diabetic nephropathy had reduced renal levels, while higher uE abundance of miRs with reno-protective potential. The quality of groundwater in the Jaunpur district of Uttar Pradesh is poorly studied despite the fact that it is the only supply of water for both drinking and irrigation and people use it without any pre-treatment. The evaluation of groundwater quality and suitability for drinking and irrigation is presented in this study. Groundwater samples were collected and analysed by standard neutralisation and atomic emission spectrophotometry for major anions (HCO 3 - , SO 4 2- , Cl - , F - , NO 3 - ), cations (Ca 2+ , Mg 2+ , Na + , K + ), and heavy metals (Cd, Mn, Zn, Cu, and Pb). The geographic information system (GIS) and statistical inferences were utilised for the spatial mapping of the groundwater's parameters. The potential water abstraction (i.e. taking water from sources such as rivers, streams, canals, and underground) for irrigation was assessed using the sodium absorption ratio (SAR), permeability index (PI), residual sodium carbonate (RSC), and Na percentage. According to the findings, the majority of the samples had higher EC, TDS, and TH levels, indicating that they should be avoided for drinking and irrigation. The positive correlation coefficient between chemical variability shows that the water chemistry of the studied region is influenced by geochemical and biological causes. According to the USSL (United States Salinity Laboratory) diagram, most of the samples fall under the C2-S1 and C3-S1 moderate to high salt categories. Some groundwater samples were classified as C4-S3 class which is unfit for irrigation and drinking. This study suggests that the groundwater in the study area is unfit for drinking without treatment. Several cyanobacteria can adjust their light-harvesting machinery in response to existing light signals in a process called chromatic acclimation (CA) which permits the utilization of available light resources for photosynthesis. CA involves alteration in the pigment composition of a major light-harvesting complex called phycobilisome (PBS) and allows some cyanobacteria to utilize green light (GL) to drive photosynthesis. However, cyanobacteria, in contrast with eukaryotic algae and higher plants, can not utilize blue light (BL) for photosynthesis due to their dependency on PBS. Here, we studied a black-colored soil crust that was composed of a single cyanobacterium identified and named Oscillatoria sp. Malviya-1 after phenotypic and phylogenetic analyses. The black-colored crust can absorb light from almost all parts of photosynthetically active radiation (400-700 nm) and ultraviolet radiation (280-400 nm) due to the presence of photosynthetic pigments and microbial sunscreens such as chlorophyll ɑ, carotenoids, phycoerythrin, phycocyanin, allophycocyanin, mycosporine-like amino acids, and scytonemin. Unlike other cyanobacteria, Oscillatoria sp. Malviya-1 can grow using GL, BL, and red light (RL) in addition to white light (WL) which was accompanied by the different colors of the mat under different light conditions. The presence of CA and sunscreens compounds can maximize the fitness of soil crust under a dynamic light environment, UVR, and desiccation. Detailed study of Oscillatoria sp. The disorder of internet gaming is increasingly being blamed on major psychological problems affecting youth. Action video games are enjoyable for masochists. Video game chores that practise bondage and other acts that cause pain and anoxia may be masochistic in nature in order to promote player satisfaction. Asphyxia will result in pleasure in asphyxiophilia, a dangerous and occasionally lethal form of sexual masochism. Constriction of the neck with ligature materials is a frequent method of causing hypoxia. The subject of this case study was a compulsive player of online video games. During the masochistic act, along with a recording of it, he unintentionally died. Given that he was naked, had a ligature around his neck, had his wrists and legs bound, and had two fabric-holding clamps on his scrotum, asphyxiophilia was determined to be the cause of his death. At the scene of death, neither pornographic materials nor proof of frequent use of this kind of behaviour were discovered. Along with recording, the subject's cell phone's flash was on to help with the dim lighting and he may have been videotaping these masochistic acts as part of a videogame task. The results of the autopsy, circumstantial evidence, police inquiry and witness accounts all support accidental death.

The disparity in the free radical generation and the production of antioxidants to counteract its effect is known as oxidative stress. Oxidative stress causes damage to the macromolecules such as lipids, carbohydrates, proteins, and DNA and RNA. The oxidative damage to the cellular components leads to a process of aging and various age-associated disorders. The literature survey for this review was done using PubMed, Google Scholar, and Science Direct. The papers showing the studies related to aging and age-associated disorders have been selected for reviewing this paper. Ellagic acid has been used as the keyword, and more emphasis has been put on papers from the last 10 years. However, some papers with significant studies prior to 10 years have also been considered. Almost 250 papers have been studied for reviewing this paper, and about 135 papers have been cited. Ellagic acid (EA) is present in high quantities in pomegranate and various types of berries. It is known to possess the antioxidant potential and protects from the harmful effects of free radicals. Various studies have shown its effect to protect cardiovascular, neurodegenerative, cancer, and diabetes. The present review focuses on the protective effect of ellagic acid in age-associated disorders. The effect of EA has been studied in various chronic disorders but the scope of this review is limited to cancer, diabetes, cardiovascular and neurodegenerative disorders.
