Building a novel electrode with improved electrochemical behaviour has great scope in the area of supercapacitors. In this work, binder-free 1D nanograsses of Ni2P2O7/Co2P2O7 nanocomposites were grown on nickel foam through a simple hydrothermal method at different processing temperatures. A precise examination was carried out to study the influence of the processing temperature on the morphology and electrochemical attributes. Ex situ morphological pictures confirmed the reliance of structure on the hydrothermal temperature and the obtained one-dimensional morphology encouraged ion interaction through short channels. The patterned nanograsses were grown at 140 °C with uniform interspacing and exhibited better electrochemical performance due to short, diffusive 1D pathways. Using the power law, the capacitive parts of the total capacitance were elucidated. The better electrochemical performance from charge–discharge indicates that the binder-free NiP2O7/CoP2O7 1D nanograsses would be an appropriate cathode for an efficient hybrid capacitor. The optimized electrode as the cathode in the device showed better energy density and long-lasting cycle life (80% capacity retention after 2000 cycles). Our outcomes indicate that the Ni2P2O7/Co2P2O7 1D nanograss pattern has good potential for use as a cathode for hybrid supercapacitors. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Enormous research activities have been accomplished to evolve improved cathode for advanced Li-ion-based devices. In this article, we account the preparation of spinel LiMn2O4 synthesized by microwave irradiation method and investigated the influence of calcination temperature (550–750°C) on its crystallinity, morphology and electrochemical properties. The crystallinity of the samples showed a linear increment with the calcination temperature, and from the structural analysis, the interlinking of the polyhedral subunits with one another was encountered. The electrochemical investigations revealed that the sample calcined at 650°C exhibited a high capacitance of 473.44 F/g in the 3M LiNO3 electrolyte with stable cycling performance. The obtained results suggested the significance of optimum calcination temperature in the effective tailoring of crystallinity, morphology and electrochemical properties of LiMn2O4 nanoparticles. Rational design of organic-inorganic heterojunction photocatalyst has become a research hotspot of recent researchers due to their abundance and cost effectivity. Herein, we present the integrated photocatalyst carbon dot (CD) decorated on g-C 3 N 4 /AgCl heterojunction synthesized by simple impregnation method. The primary confirmation for the as-prepared samples has been carried out by various characterization techniques. From the obtained results, the ternary nanocomposite demonstrated a prominent photocatalytic activity which was almost 10 and 51 fold higher than pure g-C 3 N 4 in the degradation of organic dyes. The reasons behind the improved efficiency are (i) The introduced CD facilitates broader absorption in the visible region because of π-conjugated CDs and provide favorable electron kinetics by creating trap states at the CD/g-C 3 N 4 interface. (ii) The AgCl acts as an electron sinker and reduce the carrier's recombination. To justify the photocatalytic activity, a possible mechanism was proposed and verified by trapping experiments. In this context, we report the acoustic shock wave processing on amorphous Carbon quantum dots (a-CQD) such that its degree of graphitization and magnetic properties are analyzed. Analytical techniques such as the Raman spectrometer, high resonation–transmission electron microscopy (HR-TEM) and vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM) are utilized to understand the structural, morphological and magnetic properties changes under shocked conditions. The Raman spectroscopic data reveal that the I D /I G ratio is slightly reduced under shocked conditions and the observed values are 0.78, 0.77 and 0.75 for the respective 0, 150 and 300 shocked conditions. The formation of ultra-short-range graphitic nanostructures is confirmed by HR-TEM results at the 300-shocked condition. The most convincing and supporting results for the enhancement of the degree of graphitization are found by the outcome of the magnetic properties such that the saturation magnetization (Ms) is found to be linearly reduced with respect to the number of shock pulses and the observed values are 0.869, 0.757 and 0.710 emu/g for the 0, 150 and 300 shocked conditions, respectively. The electrical resistance of the a-CQD is found to be linearly reduced with respect to the number of shock pulses due to the reduction of sp3 carbon networks. The formation of crystalline graphitic nanostructures in amorphous CQD is explained on the basis of the hot-spot nucleation mechanism. Based on the obtained Raman, HR-TEM and VSM results, during the shocked conditions, slight enhancement of the graphitization is observed; however, from the structural stability point of view, the Carbon dots have high shock resistance than that of the amorphous carbon nanoparticles, multi-wall carbon nanotubes, and reduced graphene oxide nanoparticles. In this work, we reported the simple one-step wet impregnation method of g-C3N4/MnO2 nanocomposites aimed at improving the photocatalytic degradation efficiency of methylene blue dye. The synthesized catalysts underwent comprehensive characterization using various techniques such as X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and ultraviolet-visible diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (UV-vis DRS) to investigate their physicochemical properties. Their photocatalytic performance was evaluated by the degradation of methylene blue (MB) dye under visible light irradiation. Consequently, the MnO2/g-C3N4 nanocomposite demonstrates superior photocatalytic degradation performance compared to both bare MnO2 and g-C3N4. This enhancement is attributed to the improved efficiency of charge carrier separation and interfacial charge transfer within the nanocomposite structure. The degradation efficiency of MnO2/g-C3N4 nanocomposite was found 89% of MB under visible light irradiation at 120 min. Meanwhile, the recyclability analysis demonstrated that the MnO2/g-C3N4 nanocomposite can be recycled four times. Furthermore, the substance demonstrated positive antibacterial activity against Escherichia coli, and Staphylococcus aureus bacterial strains. These findings suggest that the MnO2/g-C3N4 nanocomposite, with its dual roles as a photocatalyst and an antibacterial agent, has potential applications in environmental decontamination.
